Perfect Man Bun Styles For Exercising

Hey guys and welcome back for another hair video.

Today I’m just going to be running you through a few really handy man bun styles hacks I use on my long hair for when I’m either at the gym or doing exercise.

Here's what I use to make my Bungee cords:

Hair ties for sports: https://amzn.to/2LTbO5u

Bobby pins: https://amzn.to/3bTGPRh

Long hair can be a little annoying to work with whilst being active so I hope you get some value from this video and walk away with something you can implement for yourself.

And as always, if you enjoy what you see today please make sure you give this video a big thumbs up because you know it really helps me reach more people on YouTube and don’t forget to hit the notifications button so you don’t miss any of my future posts.

In terms of what you’ll need to achieve all the styles and techniques mentioned in this video,

All you’ll need is 2 hair ties and 2 bobby pins at minimum or 4 at maximum.

Now, let’s get into these long hairstyles for exercising.

The first technique/style is the Agility Man Bun.

This style and technique is great for sports activities like bootcamp, playing soccer, basketball or any activity that requires short, sharp and fast movements.

Although this man bun looks just like a normal man bun, the construction of it is way more intricate than you think.

To achieve this style you’ll first want to grab 1 of your hair ties and just secure your hair into a bun as you normally would.

Then once you’re happy with the placement, the next thing you’re going to want to do is grab your second hair tie and attach 2 bobby pins to it making sure they are directly opposite each other. Congratulations you just made your first bungee cord.

From there, you’ll want to insert 1 of your bobby pins into the base of your bun at the top and then wrap the attached hair tie around your bun until you feel the bun tighten.

One the elastic becomes difficult to stretch any further, you then just wanna secure it in using the other bobby pin that you placed on the hair tie previous.

This technique is normally used by professional hairstylists to ensure their clients hair is really secure and move an inch for a really long period of time.

The reason it’s so effective as well is because it customises the length and tightness of the elastic to your own specific hair. So it doesn’t matter what thickness or density you have, you can always have an elastic that fits your hair perfectly.

It’s one of the best things I’ve learnt at hairstylist school and it works really well for sport and movement trust me.

To finish this hairstyle up, you may have stray dangly bits hanging out of the bun everywhere which is normal, but to get rid of those, I just coil them around the bun and then use one or two more bobby pins to secure them in place and shablam. I’m done.

So this technique is super sturdy and if you play sports or love bootcamp, you’re going to thank me later for this one haha.

Now let’s move onto the next style & technique.

The next style and technique is the Lifting Man Bun. This one is actually super simple. You only need one hair tie for this and maybe some bobby pins if you light to neaten the style up.

But the trick to this style is in the high placement. When you are lifting at the gym or doing any exercise that requires you to lay your head flat on a surface, the last thing you want is a big bulbous clump of hair sitting at the back of your head.

It’s uncomfortable and if your head isn’t in the right position you can even cause damage to your neck so don’t wear your bun at the back. Wear it nice and high so it doesn’t get in the way.

To achieve this style all you need to do is group your hair as high as you can on your head before securing it with 1 hair elastic.

I like to wrap mine around a few times just to make sure it’s secure enough and the if I’ve got wispy bit I just shove a couple of bobby pins in to neaten it up a bit.

Just make sure that before you start working out you’re able to lay your head flat and you’ll be good.

The third man bun stun hack is for running and unfortunately, YouTube won't let me make my description any longer than this so to see the run bun style and construction, you'll need to watch the video haha.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll see you next Monday!

Goodbye!

#longhairformen #manbun #workout

Hey guys and welcome back for another hair video today, I'm just gon na be running you through a few different, really handy man, bun variations and techniques that I like to use when I'm either at the gym or when I'm doing exercise long hair can be a Little bit annoying to work with, whilst being active, so I really hope that you get some value from this video and walk away with something that you can implement straightaway when you go and do your workout and as always, if you enjoy what you see here today, Please make sure you give this video a massive thumbs up and hit the little bell symbol if you are subscribed to my channel. So you don't miss any of my updates to come in future in terms of what you're gon na need to achieve all these stars and techniques that I mentioned in today's video. All you need is two hair ties and two bobby pins at minimum or four bobby pins at max. Okay, I'll leave, links to the hair ties that I use and the bobby pins that I use down in the description box for you as well. So it makes it really easy for you to execute these, and I think it's now time to get onto these hairstyles and techniques for sports and gym so the first technique, / style, is the agility man bun. This particular style and technique is really great for sports activities, like boot camps, playing basketball playing soccer or any activity that requires you to have short, sharp, fast movements. Although this man bun does look just like a normal man but on the outside, the construction of it is way more intricate than you actually think so. To achieve this style, you'll first want to grab one of your hair ties and just tie your hair up into a normal bun, as if you were going out on a normal day and then once you've got your hair in the right place. The next thing you're gon na want to do is grab two bobby pins and attach them on opposite sides of each other to the hair tie. What this is is a bungee cord. They do have professional ones of these, but these are a makeshift one that I learned how to do in my course, and they are fantastic for securing hairstyles from there. You'Ll want to insert one of your bobby pins from your makeshift bungee cord into the base of your bun at the top and then wrap the attached hair tie around your bun until you feel it tighten once the elastic becomes difficult to stretch any further around the Bun, all you need to do, then, is secure it using the other bobby pin on the other side of your mate shift, bungee cord and pop it in to the base of the bun wherever it lands to finish up the hairstyle, you may have like little dangly Bits hanging outside of the bung - I always have that, so what I normally do is just wrap them all around the bun once more and then use my other two bobby pins to sort of secure them in further a it Tiny's the hairstyle up and just provides You with a little bit more security. The reason that this method is so effective as well is because it customizes the length and the tightness of the elastic to your own hair density. So it doesn't really matter how thick or dense your hair actually is. You can always have a hair tie, that's gon na fit your hair properly and really keep your hair nice and secure it's literally one of the best things I've learned at Hair, Stylist school, and it really works well for my sports and movement exercises so yeah enjoy That one now, let's move on to the next style and techniques, so the next style and technique is what I like to call the lifting man bun. So this one is actually super simple and you only need one hair tie for this and maybe some bobby pins. If you're, you know wanting to tidy it up or if you like, the neater sort of style, the trick with this style is the high placement. So when you're lifting at the gym or doing any exercise, that requires you to lay your head on a flat surface. You'Ll want to make sure that you're wearing something that's quite high. That'S not gon na interfere with the back, there's nothing worse than having this big bulbous clump of hair at the back of your head. When you're trying to do a bench press, it's very uncomfortable and if your head isn't in the right place, when you're doing some of those exercises like lifting it can cause damage to your neck. So don't wear your bun at the back of your head. Make sure you wear it really nice and high, so it just doesn't get in the way. So to achieve this style, all you need to do is group your hair as high as you can on top of your head before securing it with just one hair tie and then, if you have any wispy bits just like with the agility, bun use your bobby Pins to wrap them around the hand, style and secure them in that's pretty much all you need, because there's not so much movement in the gym or like when you're lifting you're not really darting around the place so having one hair tie wrapped around a couple of Times, usually, is you know sufficient, but that is the lifting button, so the third style and technique on the list is the run bun. So running is actually the one exercise that I find really really fun and actually enjoy doing. Not many people like cardio in saying that, though I you hate running, if my hair doesn't feel secure, I get hot. I get sweaty, and the last thing I want is my obnoxious long hair flowing all over my face all over my back. Well, I'm a sweaty hot mess. Okay, it's just not right! I loathe it. I don't like it. I honestly have no idea how those chicks cope when they're running with those big long, ponytails and dangling all over their back. It literally makes me quiver. I hate it. So, in order to combat having long hair problems when I'm running the Run, button is rather intricate but works great for this. All you need to do with this is start with our bungee cord again, and what we're gon na do is secure it around our hair, but in a medium ponytail at the back of your head. Once you have your ponytail nice, secure and tight. All you'll, then want to do is put your cap on and feed the ponytail out through the back of it. The reason a cap is super essential for this style is because it actually acts as a brace for the base of the bun, and it also restricts anything from moving around while you're jogging and there's no bouncing and all that stuff. And then, when you're, using the bungee cord to create a custom size elastic for your hair, you've created a really really strong foundation and that hair is definitely not gon na go anywhere. So once you've got your bungee cord ponytail and your cap firmly in place, all you'll then want to do is grab your second hair tie and then tie the remaining hair into a bun, as you normally would from there. Just like all the other hairstyles. I use a few extra bobby pins to secure it down a little bit further and off. I go for my run, so that's my three man bun styles and techniques, for the gym and exercising guys. I really hope you didn't find this video useful and please make sure you leave me a comment if you try any of these out and let me know how you go with them, as always, remember to smash that like button, if you enjoyed the video and if You are currently growing your hair out and you want to join a Facebook group. We'Ve got a great hair growth community over at men, buns and Mane's, and you can access that by visiting the link in the description box. Alright it'll take you to the main buns and Mane's website, and you just have to follow the prompts and shablam you're in. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your week and I'll see you next Monday for another video goodbye. You

The Brick Lord: Just hit one year of Hairgrowth! I'm so close to a full manbun sometimes struggle to keep it all in without the sides falling out

Nate Manning: My man bun is truly complete now, and it’s all thanks to your video.

BROADHURST: You can't beat a super low bun for the gym. High pony can look quite femme on some guys (if you like that look then no worries) and the straight back pony can give you neck cripple for when you need to push back on to your head or neck for chest press as example. Pony in a hat if you are doing a pull or cardio day! My two cents

Mr K.: THIS works so great thank you so much!!

Belen Amarapura: High bun suits perfectly to yoga practice but I am obsessed about alopecia tension and it is painful. I reached your hair lenght and I realize that, hell, hair are heavy. XD I felt in use that the lower bun was more pragmatic to lie on m'y back and running without feeling the balance or collapse of the hairstyle.

Jegcopo: I feel like my hair at the top of my head is too flat when I wear any kind of bun. It makes my face look much shorter when I tie my hair, and I definitely don’t like that .-. Is there any way I can make it look a little less flat at the top?

S S: Thank you for making this video.

C N: mine's different but works too, 1st tie your to a ponytail, 2nd twist you hair tightly then wrap it around to make a bun then tie that, lastly just put another tie to that bun.

Gummy: I did something similar to that second top bun and I would NOT recommend it for activity with a lot of movement like running. So much scalp tension.

martin brimble: How to do the start bit.. “the normal bun” I’m growing my hair, and it’s just at the length, that I can start tie it. Do you have another video on how to do this..?

Henrique José: Can you do a video about how to reduce the amount of times we shampoo our hair? Because I'm trying to do it once a week and I'm wondering if I should start doing treatments such as the apple vinegar rinse and using baking soda, which I heard to prove beneficial.

Lil Opto: Thomas, I know you have a secret to grow your hair much quicker

Edward Holloway: Hi Thomas. I was wondering whether u or one of the community could give me some advice. I have been growing my hair for two years now it it’s very long. Majority of the hair especially on top is great quality, however the hair that comes from behind my ears has poor quality which seems to be getting worse. I find this quite annoying as I like half up half down, but the longer parts which come from behind my ears look really disgusting when I do this (normally it’s hidden in a man bun). I am really unsure what the best thing is to do. I am tempted to cut 2-3 inches off once quarantine has lifted as I have not had a haircut since March, but not sure if there is an easier fix. Thanks

hiii: I hope these work for really long hair my hair is down to my lower back

A skaters Life: My hair is almost to my shoulders just 3 or 4 more months yay

Limelighter: Hey Thomas, do you use Hair Ties for Guys (The Longhairs’)

Samuel Patino: Hey Thomas I like your tank top, where did you get it??

Thors Strength: I still can't tie a bun, I can only really do the foldover which isn't really a bun.

Valdy _: I wish you wouldn't speed up the demo because it's too fast. And it would be nice if you could show how to do the 'normal' bun. It'd help a lot for non native english speaker like me if you can explain it step by step starting from the normal bun. Thank you.

Khairuddin Harun: Thanks brother!

Raphael Fernandez: Why is there so much neck hair? did you forget it or did you realise that you accidentally shaved it when it could've been part of the bun? thanks

Chris Carrion: I have the long hair. I just suck at tying up my hair. It’s really hit or miss. Poor hand dexterity I guess.

Xyz Zyx: I'm in the awkward stage wish me luck ;)

Rinos: You're the best i fucking love u man

NINO: I'd love to see my gf in that shirt lmao. Good video

Amit raju: Thomas plz do a video due to growing long hair I am catching lice and nits how to get rid of them

SykeJS: bit late but im white and i have long hair i want to get dread locks but im scared of people saying its cultural appropriation cause you see so many videos of people getting angry over it and i dont really want that what would you do

c0cKRoach: Wanna grow out my hair but my mom wont fucking let me, at least I got an undercut top knot bc of quarantine, if it wasnt for that I wouldn't even have that

Carlo Mario Pacheco: ❤️

Stand up status: ❤️❤️

x96: my hair is falling out 70-80 every day .. please help me

Victory Adajar: Hi, i am growing out my hair but i have a problem with baby hair on my forehead, pls help advice pls

D T*: I can see you like hair a lot but are you sure you also like them under the arms?

Oliver Kupes: Thomas, Mr In Action = I only have 1 question Why? o Why? Are you wearing a very large girl's Tank Top Yet my hair is in it's Awkward stage still but = It is getting longer & I'm likely playing around with it. Guest I like doing that when my Hair get's longer over time

Marc Lamparter: Honestly "man buns r really a bit '00s.

Dart: Too bad you are using bobby pins so much. I just want to use hair ties.

Mark Nicholls: How did this crap get in my feed....

Woyxir: Atheustan?

Harrison Freund: 6th

Param Jani: I hope I don't look this gay after growing my hair
