( holiday music, ), [, Narrator ], It's holiday party time, which means that it's time to learn some new hairstyles that you can rock at whatever event you have coming up.. These are specifically for my short and medium hair length followers, but obviously those of you with longer hair can do these as well.. Let'S get started. ( playful music ) For the curls. In this video, I used my flat iron curl trick that I showed you guys. A few videos back., I will link it in case. You want to check it out because it totally works on short or medium hair, as well. For the braid you'll want a clear elastic and some kind of hair clip., I'm gon na start by sectioning, my hair. I'M going to part it diagonally across the back of my head and then clip the hair that I don't want in the braid out of the way.. Then you can start braiding by grabbing a section of hair right next to your part in your hairline and I'm doing a Dutch braid back all the way across my head. Until I reach then end of my hair., You can do this with a French braid as well. If you prefer., Once you can't add in anymore, hair, just braid whatever hair you have left normally and then secure it with an elastic., Now just grab two bobby pins and that little tiny braid at the end and sweep that underneath the rest of your hair. That we have clipped up., Then you can just use those bobby pins to pin it in place and let the rest of your hair fall over the braid and magically hide the end of it.. Now you can make this hairstyle a little bit more glamorous by running your fingers through with some shine enhancing product.. You can even brush your hair through if you need to and you'll see that it gives you this really sleek beautiful kind of retro. Look to the hairstyle.! If you want it to look a little more tousled, you could use some texturizing spray and really shake your curls around and really enhance how tousled they are., And that gives it a little bit of a more Bohemian effortless vibe., Whichever one you prefer go with that.. I love that this hairstyle has so many options for you: guys. (, playful, music, ) And now onto this easy half up, style. Start off by grabbing a hair elastic and a bobby pin to hold everything in place. While we bring this together. Overall we're going to make four twists. The first one is right. Next, to your part, a couple inches back from your hairline twist all the way down and then grab a tiny piece of hair at the end and scrunch it back up and then bring it back down and you'll notice. It'S a lot looser and more tousled-looking.. Just go ahead and sweep that back and hold it in place with your bobby pin.. Now take another section of hair from that side and twist it back away from your face. Scrunch it loosen it up and put it in place to hold it.. Now repeat the same thing on the other side., When you do this third twist go ahead and pin it in the back together with our first two, so you have all three together and then do your final fourth twist.. Then you can remove the bobby, pin and bring all four together and then secure them with that clear elastic. Now grab a bunch more bobby pins. We're gon na make three loops with your hair. So start with a section of hair right underneath your elastic, you can Include the hair from the elastic. Loop it into kind of a doughnut shape and then pin that in place., Then do the same thing on each side of that first loop., Once you've done that I'm actually going to use my fingers and I'm going to really massage It and make sure that it gets loose and tousled, so it looks kind of like a small messy bun. And that's it. This hairstyle is actually really easy to do, and I like that, it's very tousled and very easy to wear.. And finally, we have this braided updo., You're gon na start by grabbing a hair clip and then you're gon na part, your hair in the back. You're gon na. Do it slightly off center so that you have one side with more hair and one side with less hair. Go ahead and clip up the one with less hair., And now, with the side of your hair that you left down, you can grab a section of hair At the top right, next to your part and begin French braiding., I'm gon na follow the line of my hair around my head, so that it makes this nice little rounded shape until you get to the back, where it kind of meets the other section that we Sectioned off. Once you've, French braided, all the hair that you can, if you have any little hairs that are left over just braid them normally and then secure them with an elastic., Now grab another clear elastic'cause we're going to do the same thing on the other side.. Just grab that section next to your part, braid down following the line of your hair and once you've French braided everything you can just braid the little hairs that are left and secure it with an elastic.. And now you can pull and massage each braid to make it a little bigger and more tousled. Just be careful with short hair to not go too aggressively, or else you might end up accidentally pulling out some fly aways. Now you just have to take care of The ends. You're just gon na grab one of the little tiny braids on one side and tuck it underneath the bigger French braid and pin that in place., Then do the same thing on the other side. Grab that little braid tuck it under and pin it in place, making sure that those braids really bump up against one another. So it looks like a continuous braid.. Then just do one final check-over. If you have any little areas that a sagging or doing something weird. Just pin them where they're supposed to be, and that is it. Now, even if you have a kind of shorter or more medium hair, you can still do a braided updo and it's lovely it's easy to wear. You can either take it very classic or a little more bohemian, totally up to you. And that's it for these hairstyles.. I hope that you guys enjoyed them and if you try them out, obviously send me pictures. Be sure to check back next week for another hair tutorial and if you want to check out some more holiday hairstyles for shorter or medium hair check out the one that I did last year. And that's it for today I'll see you guys in my next video. Mwah Bye,

Jade Prescott: Super fun and cute!! If I remember correctly you said you purchased a short hair wig to do videos for your short haired viewers (Yay! I fall into that category and am super thankful!), how on EARTH does the wig look so completely natural?! What kind of Gandalf, wizard magic did you use or did the wig makers use to make it look so real at the hairline?! Granted, I know nearly nothing about wigs but I feel like when I see them used in cosplays and even movies, sometimes, they are pretty obvious.

ariel alena: YOU LOOK SO GOOD WITH SHORT HAIR!!

JudyLovesNaps: the first 2 hairstyles were my favorite in this video! love the effort you put into your channel by incorporating short/medium hairstyles too. Great job Kayley <33

jennyupabove: Absolutely loving your videos at the moment! The quality of production, editing and music has been superb. I recently started a new job after going through a rough time and have been using your videos as inspiration for ways to wear my hair to work. Before now I had been suffering with depression and stopped taking care of myself and something as simple as doing my hair makes a huge difference to my mood and my confidence so thank you for the inspiration.

Ellen M: Love all your hair tutorials Kayla! Especially love that you're tackling short hair styling now too. Great to diversify your work! If you're ever looking for more types of hair to explore maybe you could do some hairstyles for thin hair?
