(EN/中文/한국/tiếng việt/Bahasa/Tagalog Subtitles) DIY haircut kicks off at 2:58! So i decided to try a DIY Haircut following all the Youtube tutorials on how to cut your own hair at home. Chopped my long hair off into a medium length haircut known as the Long Bob (LOB) and it turned out way ok I think! This is my vlog of the process. Would totally do this again. The LOB DIY haircut took only about 45 minutes in total, i probably would advise all you kids out there who wanna try this to get a real pair of haircutting scissors instead of winging it with an IKEA stationary scissors like i did, leave a bit more length than u desire when you first do the chop, and the rest should be ok! If this is something you've been itching to try, i would say go for it! Turned out well for me and like, a week after filming this DIY haircut (that's how long it took me to edit & upload lol) I'm still really pleased with my new LOB. Hello, What's up y'all, so I'm Jean and, as you can see, this is my hair right. Now. Split ends: galore my nightmare bleach job 18 months ago, growing out, helluva slowly. And the general jungle growth that has just set in over four months of coronavirus. Chaos. It'S just a mess, so today, let's get this hair cut, it's actually possible right now in Singapore to go out to a proper hair salon to get your hair cut, but on second thought I was like mmm. Actually, this is one of those jungle survival skills that I really need to learn because 90 % of the time I'm in some third-world country out there somewhere, where they don't speak much English at all. If any, and it's really really hard to find a decent place to get your hair cut without emerging from the salon, looking like, Joan Jett or having accidentally that your hair blue, yes folks, it happened to me once in Vietnam., Very, very unforgettable, experience. By the way People, as some of you know me, I'm really not the super well-groomed high maintenance kind of girl, it's just that you know we're in Singapore right now, everyone's still in lockdown mode - and this is some kind of another, odd self-love primping session - that I can have fun With for a few hours on yet another uneventful day., And so after hours of research over the internet, I have finally decided that I'm gon na cut my hair today in the style of the long bob there about here. Blunt cut. According to some YouTube tutorials, the LOB is still very much in style today in 2020 and looking at the general outline of it all I'll say this is one hot style that doesn't look too hard to replicate on your own at home.. It also takes all the guesswork out of it because I came across so many YouTube, DIY haircut tutorials that show you exactly how to do a LOB and there are some where girls, sport the exact same starting hair length. As I do so. I know the skills are directly applicable and transferable. Number two. The girls actually do the whole entire haircut all throughout by themselves. So you know, that's doable and doesn't look so uncomfortable. Number three. It didn't look like it was gon na. Take too long. Number four: the LOB looks like a very conservative haircut position to take, and I'm happy about that because that means, if I *____ up, then you know, there's gon na be enough hair left over for me to add in some layers and optimize what I did into something better., Okay, now no more procrastinating., It's the time to actually cut my hair. These are the tools I have prepared for the whole process, plus a straightener. just getting used to it. It'S really fun, I'm happy! Ok, great and I'm so happy. I'M not paying like 75 bucks in Singapore at a salon to do this. Ok, I've got to get on with the job. okay. I was going for the really blunt look and I think I got it. This is fantastic. I'M actually really happy with this. I don't attribute it to any skill on my part.. I just think it's a little bit of a failsafe thing to cut off all your horrible dead, dry split ends and just be left with healthy hair that feels really light and movable, but I'm gon na do the last step in the DIY tutorial that I saw And just do some vertical trimming, I think it's just to soften the edge, a bit. okay, so this is it. This is the done version and how it looks from behind So got my haircut. Very happy with the results and honestly, my takeaway from this is: do get a actual pair of hair cutting scissors, because I did mine today with a pair from Ikea and it was Serviceable but I would say that I think you know there are scissors out there, probably who could have done a better job.. Second, the whole process from start to end plus the filming actually took me like less than two hours, so the actual haircutting only took me. Maybe about like 45 minutes, so it's really simple and easy to do.. It isn't probably the best like, of course, you know having someone else manage the back of your head, for you would be a much easier process., But you know for doing it by yourself. This ain't bad, I didn't think it could go very wrong.. It was such a straightforward, blunt cut, job. And yeah.
