Hi guys so today, I'm gon na show you how I style my Pixy forward into kind of this fun shaggy, look that was inspired by Sienna Miller's pixie from I don't know what like ten years ago. So, let's have some fun, but, as you can see, my hair is long on the top and short on the sides. So this is what I would call a pixie undercut. My sides are cut to about a number four lengths, the first product I always use when I'm styling my hair from it being wet. It is a leave-in conditioner. It depends on what I'm doing with my hair, on which leave-in conditioner that I choose, but this product called fab me from design me hair is a very good all-around. It'S designed to nourish and protect and when you heat style, your hair or, if you're like me and you color it a lot. This is a must. I love this product because it's lightweight but there's tons of leave-in conditioners on the market, but if you don't want to think about it grab this you won't be disappointed. You just want to spray this all over and then either comb it through with your fingers, or you can use a wide tooth comb to distribute it throughout the hair strands. Once I have my leaving conditioner in, I will almost always follow it with a thermal protectant. Once again, this helps smooth the hair and protect it from damage. So today I'm gon na be using our hos tinsel, smoothing oil. I have very thick hair, so I am not shy with this stuff. If you want to become a master at styling, your hair, you have to learn how to use your blow-dryer and your brush together. These guys need to be best friends. I very rarely nowadays just come in and haphazardly blow-dry my hair, because you're leaving how your hair ends up to chance you're, giving no direction to the hair strands. So a lot of times you'll just end up with this huge puff ball. So do not do that. Today, you'll see me use a lot of technique where I come in and blow-dry using my brush, almost like you would a round brush and what I'm doing here is I'm helping guide and direct the hair strands. I come in with this curved brush and really pull the hair down and forward I'm gon na start by pushing all of the hair forward and start kind of just creating the shape that I want. The final look to look like and, like I said earlier, I'm going for this fun shaggy bob, so what I'm doing is just grabbing from the crown and shaking it back shaking it down the sides and shaking this part forward. That way, I have a guide for my blow-drying. I know what direction I need to go. So let's turn this on and get this started now that I have the perimeter dried and shape down, I'm gon na come in with my brush and lift up a little bit as I blow-dry my roots, so that when I finish, I have some volume through my Roots and they don't just sit completely flat now, the key to this is when you're doing this technique. You never want to lift and blow dry these front bangs, because the whole point is to try and keep everything combed for it. So when you're creating this lift, you just want it to be back in the crown and around the sides, but avoid coming up like this and blow-drying your route from here. For this look just by using a leaving conditioner and a thermal protectant and blow-drying in the right direction, you can see the shape forming. You have some lift through the crown, but yet through the sides and the front it's smooth down for the shaggy look now one of the cutest things about a pixie is when it's got movement, but it's still molded to your head. So that is why I love this poem in particular, because it literally fits the curve of your head. So what I'm going to show you now is, as I come in and finish blow-drying I'm gon na be coming around the curve of my head so that I'm pulling these hair into the shape of my face. This is especially important if you tend to add calyx. I have a huge palette right here, and so, when I'm using this technique, I will actually blow dry and cool the hair around this cally, and so it creates this really cool movement of my hair in the back of the head. Does that make sense? Okay, let's see it in action. The two mistakes I see Pixies make all the time is: they have hazard, we blow dry, their hair and the other one. Is they don't use enough or the right products? This is where product comes in, because I have such a great shape to work with now, but you can see, there's not enough pieces to it. There needs to be some more shine in my opinion and when you don't use products to create separation, you end up just looking like you. Have this big puff ball on your head and nobody wants that. So at the pixie learn your blow drying technique and don't be scared of products get products that work for you we're at the point where now your style preference comes into play, because you can wear this one of two ways you can either do a sideswipe. Look where most of its pulled forward, but you kind of move the bangs to the side like this or you can go the full Sienna Miller, look which is bring it off forward and then kind of split it down the middle, but leaving that middle bang there And then you can have a lot of fun, really throwing these middle top pieces around. We all know everybody's hair texture is different, and so, if your hair texture isn't stick straight like mine, this is the time where you can really come in and create some fun using a straightening iron. So I could go either way. Today I could throw in some product and just rock the straight look, but I'm gon na show you how to use the straightening iron to piece it out a little bit more and give it a little bit more dimension. The key here is to not touch every single strand with the straightening iron. You just want to take a few little key pieces and and sculpt them. The way that you want them less is more you're, not trying really to create any curl, but you also don't want it to be stick straight, so you just lightly come in and smooth shaft down and add just a little bit of twist with the wrists. I just kind of look for some areas that need a little bit of attention. You can see the difference there. How using the flat iron just creates a little bit more piece eNOS. Now that the front looks good, don't forget to do the back, we're 90 % of the way there. This is where you come in with your product again and really make it pop. This is the product I used to protect it in the beginning and style it in the end really really work this product in you want it in the hair. Don'T be shy, smooth those ends. You'Ll start to fill your hair, just transforming as you're using this. So now you get to come in and just have some fun placing things with your fingers moving things around how fun is this? Look at this cute little hairstyle shaping up so easy, so fun. Now, I have to admit there is not a day that goes by that. I do not use my sugar tease spray from Paul Mitchell mmm. Ah, it is the best I pray they never get rid of this product. This product, basically just creates separation and hold now, when you're working with a callus. Here you really want to use sprays to hold on create fun movement in your hair. The last product needed to finish off this look is a styling paste, so this is a medium fold paste this product. I just used gently through the ends to create peace, eNOS, and you can take little strands like this and twirl them and place them just whatever you want to do and have fun with it and you'll see in Sienna Miller. She kind of twists this forward, but this back, so you can get that kind of nice little side swept. Look, that's really cute tada! That'S how you create a shaggy, pixie, no sweat! You got this just make sure you are following me on Facebook on Instagram and that you subscribe to my youtube channel thanks for following, and thanks for watching, see you next time.

Hannah Grable: This is the best detailed pixie tutorial! I feel like the way you explained it helped me so much. Post more videos PLEASE

Angelitapadilha Padilha: Não entendi uma palavra mais amei seus cabelos mara

Nancyd2736: I just got your haircut and I LOVE it!!! Thank you for the video and the encouragement!!

keepcalmmom: Amazing video, your tips are spot on. I'm a former hairstylist, and this is the best most informative self styling tips for a pixie.

Julie Sluss: Thank you for this tutorial - your explanations are wonderful and SO HELPFUL!!! (Great hair BTW!) :)

samantha Zone: love this tutorial

Katz: For the most part I think you have the right idea. The only change I'd do is not putting more thermal oil on after. It tends to erase everything you just did. Use more of the products that's intended for piecing out your hair. There are some great ones that aren't heavy at all too. And can last all day. Then use your finishing spay.

Kathy Lozito: Picky, picky, picky. The whole point of her video was to show to various ways to showcase a pixie. She did a marvelous job and has pushed my thinking towards a pixie. As for choice of products, that again is a demonstration to show different looks. I doubt the hair police are on they're way to her house.

Joan Gentile: I love this hairstyle!! It's beautiful!! Short and sassy!! ❤

Princess Preslee: Love your pixie cut!!! Thanks for all the tips!!

Viviana Ledesma: Muy lindo el color y el corte del cabello!!!

Verniece: I have a similar haircut and you just made my day!

Terri U: First time watching you...love cut and color! So many wonderful styling ideas thanks ever so much

Nad Miet: I love how you creat different stile!

d p: Please do more of these videos! I just got this haircut. Thanks. Patti

Joan Waly: I am so happy with your video. You have addressed having a cowlick in the back which I haven't seen before, and I also think I have the same texture as yours so very informative and fun!

The Silver Crafter: I found this to be very helpful, thank you!

crystalheart9: Love your hairstyle. I'm wondering what you do the next day after you have slept on it. Do you start over or can you get a couple of days out of it? Thanks for the helpful video.

Terry Zumwalde: Omg this is the best pixie I’ve ever seen. I love the way you simply explain how to style it. Best tutorial I’ve seen so far. Thankyou. I’m going to grow mine out and get this type of pixie.

Ellen Maher: Love this style. I just recently chopped my hair into a pixie cut long on top and do not want just the puff ball old lady look. I am 62 and very active and want to embrace my gray so this is how I am going to try to quit coloring. I just need to have my bangs cut a bit shorter so I can try this style. I love it and I am a very small person with a small face so short works good for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

Pam Moore: Very helpful. I just cut my hair shorter into a pixie. What paste did you use st the end? Thx so much!

Barb Gardner: What a great haircut!!!‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Diane Moran: I have the same cut however you just gave me some awesome ideas to make mine look awesome.. thanks

Happy TX: Great tutorial. Very helpful. You are gorgeous. Thanks

Nancy Bockenkamp: Awesome look I have since the 70's left my conditioner on my long part of my hair because I used a curly horn every day it was my way of keepin my hair from burning ,,, Thanks for sharein

P_ NK: I’ve saved the Sienna Miller cut image for a long time! This is a fun tutorial for how to get that look. I happen to be able to do it with less work, maybe due to hair fullness. You can do the brushless dry with your fingers if you know how to direction it, that’s the key, and use good paste/piecing products. My mantra is always ‘up in back, forward in front’ just to remind myself of the direction. Thanks for posting!!

Rocklyn Hamilton: subscribed! Awesome look! Makes me want to cut my hair!

Fran Ciulla: I love her hair cut. I tried getting my hair cut in her style - 2 times 2 different stylist - they both didn't know how to do it. Where do you get your hair cut? Do you live in NY?

Michele Correa: Darling cut and style. My hair is similar with longer sides that I’m thinking about trimming short like yours. It’s also thick. Does your stylist have to thin out your crown quite a bit?

Ava Tara: This type of hair style amazing. Thank you .x

Lizzie Mc: Stunning

Anja Brown: Luv it , I’m no hairstylist and struggling with my stacked pixie lob but think I’m not using product except heat protection I’m not into using products but seems I will need to , gorgeous hair though

Jane Fleet: Just the sweetest cut and style. Happy to see you are starting you tube.

Irene Brennan: Thank you for the tip on using a flat brush. It works so much better on my coarse straight hair. Round brushes always leave bumps where I don’t want them. Great tutorial!

Joan Burr-Salzman: What temperature do you use to blow dry and low speed? I think this is more work than I want but is a very nice look.

Sc Sc: So beautiful I love this

Tracy Ilton: Becs - please come back! I’m dying to see more of your videos!

Me L: What do I do if I wash my hair at night? Can I just use a hair serum or spray overnight in my damp hair and then style it in the morning?

mich blue: Your cut is so cute. And I loved that cut and style on Sienna Miller. She got the cut to play the role of Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl. A film about the Factory scene in New York in the 1960s and the relationships Edie had with Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan among others. Since I have long been a long fan of all that I watched the film. Not only is it a fine film bur Sienna did a great job. She also very much became Edie. She looked as close as she could. And you to lady really channel Sienna channeling Edie. If you have not seen the film, I suggest you do. Its superb. Jimmy Fallon actually plays Edie's sort of bf in the begining. I think you are beautiful, adorable and are the right combination of encouraging, teaching, fun and enthusiastic. I love this cut and shaggy look on you. It looked really cute wet and slicked back too. I love your detail and conviction. I also love the undercut. Your cut is very close to a bowlish cut. I love love love them. And todays modern trend bowlish cuts are more defined and softer than even just five years ago or so. I hope you keep this look awhile. Its sooo cute on you. I have subscribed. I wish you much success and happiness. One question? Are you a professional? If not you sure know a lot lol.

Fionnuala Murphy: I love the undercut of the back and sides. Is there a place where I can see you getting the cut. Love it

D: Don't care for the top front! Back and sides looks very cute!

lurene cornelius: Bec, when will you have the blow dryer available? Is there another less expensive? I am 83 and on fixed budget. You are so pretty!!

Bettie Hall: What setting is the dryer on?

ArtTic: I love your vids, you explain evrything so well! I recommend you to pan the camera a little down

J C: Does this work with really thick, wavy hair?

Gerry Kenney: Currently, my 50-year-old hair is down to the middle of my back. I want a change. I love this look. However, I have lots of skinny hair, not thinning hair. My hair is not thick, but I have a lot of it, just stick skinny. My hair is straight naturally, but if I leave it to nature to dry, it is crinkly. Can I have this look? I love it. Thank you for this video.

Mariella Florio: Bellissimo taglio!

silkq: Did you cut your hair yourself? I love the look you have! So cute!

Kathy McNeal: How do you get your stylus to cut it the way you describe? Last time I got my hair cut, when I went out, I was being told Thank you SIR.

eggrollz2012: I think you have amazing technique it Look great.. that’s a lot of work for very short hair. I guess I’ll keep my hair long.

Terry Griffiths: Super cool demo luvvvvv your hair

Mike Callahan: I actually love her hair PRIOR to the pixie styling. IT looks fantastic either way, but, all that hair just laying over the sides of the shorter side cuts, is very sharp. Ironically, as I stated before, she wold look awesome even bald.

Cathy Knight: Love your hair!! And love the pixie style, my problem is that my hair is wavy and has a mind of its own, is a pixie style going to work for me??

Judy Sanders: I'm going through a painful adjustment period with a new, very short cut. I was kind of hoping that a benefit of short hair would be ease of prep. From your directions, I guess I can give up on that hope.

DoeZ: What are the names of the 3 products you used? It would’ve been nice if you told us. I watched the video 3 times and only heard the spray “Paul Mitchell”. Help another Pixie chick and tell me the names please. Rock that pixie

Sandra Yates: Where do you purchase around curved brush like that very interesting like it a lot

WhitneyAlex L: WOW

Elaine Beard: I am left handed and find it difficult to use straightening irons

Gina Letendre: Can you tell me what is the brand of your curved hair brush? Thank you

Cherbear1967: Been growing my hair out for 2 years and since seeing this cut I have been tempted to cut it like this. Wish I knew if it would fit my face.

Evelyn Fredericks: Looks awesome..

Faith Logan: Love it thanks for the tips on the cow lick

BooBookitty64 Salvatore: Great video! Ty ❤ I went into your storefront and that brush/comb is unavailable is there another one like it???

Gunnar Berli: How long was your hair before the pixie cut?

Shirley Prothero: Cute cut ~ my hair would never do that.

Melissa Schaub: I really like this style & cut!

Sheryl Lambert: Why do you prefer a flatter brush instead of a round one?

STEPHANIE MOORE: Would you mind cutting my hair? And, doing the color? LOL - love the drying technique - it really helped this morning!

henrietta henson: My grandma would say "I think you forgot to colour the back kidding aside... I like it

Mary Davidson: That is the cutest look!! You are a master of that hairstyle!

Gisela Besenbruch: this Hair cut is excellent

M Travis: Thanks for the tutorial. I just have very fine hair and can't use all that product. St,ill very helpful for my new pixie cut.

Haircut Women: type of hairstyle amazing

Оля Р: Отлично!!!

Nancy Fluss: Cute

Jennifer Healy: fantastic video. Thank you.

Toni Corona: I just got this cut and it’s great lots of ways to dress it up or down

Chihiro Sun: Do you blow dry on lvl 3 or lvl 1?

Becky Miles: Where did you get the curve brush.

Donny Brewer: Could you post a picture of this haircut for my hair dresser?

Elizabeth Matos: Any suggestions who does this cut in Brooklyn I’m in Bay Rige and also Parkslope?

Joey Kruger: I love short hair like this

Debra Hitchman: You have a nice modern stylish haircut

Donna: Love the haircut, but when she said she had thick hair...nope...can't do it. I have thin fine hair, so those products would probably weigh my hair down.

Sara Bayley: Could you please give me the name of the products that you used in your hair.

Princess Madison Elle Beer: I don't think you should blow dry your roots cuz you might have hair fall problem

ImJust Kim: Just chopped my hair off. 18 inches. I feel free.

Katherine Chambers: What brush are you using? I have no luck with a brush

Mary Ann Koehl: Where did you get the brush you are using?

Staci Gibson: the hairbrush is not available any longer. do you have another idea for a hairbrush?

Carol Bourlier: Cute hair cut

Christina Gardini: I want to see the whole hair cut :) front top back.

Laura Gibson: I'm a hairdresser and this is way too many products to achieve this look! The conditioner is not necessary unless your hair us bleached like yours. The serum is fine before but not after, made your hair look limp and oily. The finished looked great from the profile but straight on was blah. It is a great cut and color!

Jane Gerow: Super cute

lola cola: What are the 2 products she's using?

frambo80: I am rubbish at styling my pixie cut, do u have really basic tutorials for beginners who are heavy handed plzzzzzz

Kath Jacquier: I would be late for work if I had to do this every day.
