Hi guys in this video, I'm gon na show you how I style my pixie now, as you can see right now, my pixie is a mess. I just washed my hair, and it has, I think, it's it's dried within, like I think it has even been ten minutes. I think it's been like 6 minutes and it's already dry and very fluffy. I used a densifying shampoo, which is a volumizing shampoo, so it makes the hair fuller thicker and if you have fine hair like me, when you use something that is volumizing, it's just going to make your hair go crazy because there's so much volume, not that I'm Complaining, but it's just gon na make my hair or my head, look like a ball, so what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na show you how I like to style, my hair, so it's nice and chic, I'm going to first of all spray, my hair With water, ok, so now that my hair is wet, the first thing I do is I push my hair down around the temples and above my ears, so that this part is not pushing out right, because the first thing that it wants to do is pop out. Here, which makes my hair look very very round. I want to keep my hair, nice and slim, and the volume needs to go over here, so I'm gon na take my hair dryer and I'm gon na start blow drying. Now I like to blow dry my hair starting in the back and then I come around the sides and then I start to blow-dry the top parts you at the top. I did blow-dry back for volume and on the sides. I always blow-dried my hair down so that, like I said I want my hair to be nice and slim on the sides. I think that's the beauty of a nice pixie cut. Is you don't want it to be round? Otherwise, you can look a little bit cartoony, which we don't want. Okay, so a couple things, I am a huge fan of Kevin Murphy, so I've been using their densifying shaper, which is the plumping, shampoo and conditioner, really good for thinning hair and, along with that plumping line, we also get the body mass, which is a leave-in plumping Conditioning treatment, what this does is: it creates a ton of volume in the hair. So for the longest time I would wear this. I would use it when I had longer hair. Now, when I use it, when I have a pixie, what ends up happening is my hair ends up having way too much volume and it makes my hair super round, so I haven't used it in a long time. You can go ahead and use it if you are having some thinning areas. I can put it in here, but generally I just found that it was just a little bit too heavy now that I have really short hair. So what I like to do is really really really simple. I go in with this. This is a mica hot mess which is a texture gloss, and it gives me nice texture for my hair after I've blow-dried my hair. I tuck these hairs behind my ears back so that they're, not you, know getting all messy, because the ears are very, very important with with a pixie. You see all of the details right, so you want all of this to be nice and clean. I do need a trim in the back. So having said that, that's why I was blow-drying. My hair super super sleek back here, really pushing it into my neck. I have a small head, so I can just kind of like slick my hair down so that it dries in that position and as soon as I can, I will get a trim back here so again check the ears. That'S the first thing. I do make sure that the that the hairs here are sitting exactly where I want them to be so I'll push them back and forth, and then I want to see where the parting is sitting. So my hair grows forward over here, which is why I'm really loving this pixie cut. This is going with the texture of the hair if your hair grows back or it grows to the side, always work with the texture of your hair and your hair growth pattern and that's important so right here I like to just push my hair forward and then I see where the part is just kind of like shake it back and forth kind of wants to go this way, so this is actually a really nice part. I feel like it's a little bit too deep, so this is actually a much better one. I feel like it goes right up towards the arch it lines up with the arch of my eyebrow, which is probably why I really like it. If we go a little bit even further, if you see it's not really a straight line or a diagonal line, it's almost like it goes like this. So always watch your parting because that's important when people first meet you a pixie cut, really shows off your face and really shows off your features. So you have to know your features. I always like when the parting is lined up with the arch of the eyebrow. Sometimes I piece this out. Sometimes I don't. I want to make sure that this part is sitting really nice and voluminous up here and it's creating a really nice shape here. So remember, we're not doing round we're doing slim and round up here. So literally, all I do is take a little bit of this gloss, just a small amount of gloss. I run it through take it into my fingertips and I start from the back and then before it dries push it into the hair slim down this again. I want to see where the hair is going to sit around my ears. As you can see, these errors are really important for me. I really don't want them to stick out because that's happened in the past. Oh yeah, this shampoo is making my hair super voluminous. Okay and now we want to piece out the friends I'm going to take some more of the gloss and just a little bit in the fingertips and run it through, and here I don't want to have a clean line. I want it to be textured and PC whenever you wash fine hair, it's always frizzy. So that's why I really like a really good product. That'S gon na take away the frizz and also give some shine and peace eNOS to the hair. So at this point I can add some more texture and PC nests, or I can just leave it like this. This is super clean. I feel a little too clean. It'S very voluminous, Wow there's a lot of volume here has a couple things like you do. I could go in with this. I love this product. This is OSIS and especially a curl cream is called curl honey. So it's a cream. It'S really really nice. If you want to add, I don't know if you've ever had a Pete, you went when I feel like when we have a pixie cut the dirtier. It is the nicer it looks. It doesn't look good when it's freshly washed. It always looks better when it's a little bit dirty. So if you like that feeling of that cream, like grease feeling that oily feeling this is a great one, although it's not greasy at all it, just it's more of a cream than a gel, so gels are generally drier and the cream is more moisturizing. That'S what I want to say. So if you have more of dry your hair, that's a great one for you. I used Kevin Murphy for the longest time. This is the free hold my favorite molding clay, clay or styling product for men and women. For short, hair beautiful gave me beautiful pieces. However, it made me break out, so I stopped using it. So whenever I used to do my PC my front pieces with the the product that could free hold, I would get breakouts on my forehead, so I stopped using that so today we're gon na go with the Kevin Murphy bedroom hairspray. I swear it's a Kevin Murphy, commercial, I'm, a big fan of Kevin Murphy. This is the best texture spray you will ever use and the reason I'm using it is because you can see that there are some frizzy still happening, that the gel did not take away. So I'm just gon na spray, this in oh there we go, oh my god, it's so pretty, and that creates it's just like it's a texture spray. So it's not a wax. It'S not a gel! It'S like how do I say this: it's like a really awesome. Moldable hairspray and you can piece out the hair, even if you're a nubian hair. This is such a great product. You can piece out if you have layers, if you have curtain bangs. This is a great spray for you and that's it. You can add volume so see if I feel like I want more volume up here. I can do that or take it away. I can also piece out those pieces here now if I had shorter pieces, I might just do something like this really can play with it, and what I like to do during the day is like literally just do this and get my hair back together. So if I'm wearing a beanie or my hair gets messy from the wind, I just push my hair back in place and it sits beautifully and always remember you want to keep the neck nice and clean. You want to keep it around the ears, nice and clean right here. If your hair is curly and you want to smooth it out, you want to create more smoothness. Luckily, my hair is quite soft and it's a it's very fine, so it's very easy to mold. If you have a little bit more difficult hair, you want to use something like this, which is the hairbrush a ceramic hairbrush. You can also use a natural bristle brush and you want to brush your hair in the direction as you're blow-drying, of where you want it to sit. So you can use a hairbrush. I don't use a hairbrush because I don't need it and that's it. That is how I style my pixie. You guys can follow me on instagram at Lena's makeup in hair. Thanks for watching I'll see, you know Phi

daybreak 56: Your hair is similar to mine (in texture) and you have helped me so much with styling. I'm in my 60's and it's taken me til now to know how to style my hair, and that's all down to you so thanks a million. You are gorgeous and you would look amazing whatever you did with your hair.
