Growing Out My Pixie Cut - Trimming And Styling Growing Out Hair

Follow me on my journey as I grow out my formally #shorthairstyle, to…. who knows what?

I’m sure there will be stops along the way as I encounter new and unexpected hairstyles!

In this video I demonstrate how to style my short #curlyhair.

I’ve worn my hair short for the last 20 years. When I was much younger, I had long, curly hair; back when it was dark brown. It’s going to be interesting to see what it looks like long, curly and #silver, I cannot wait to see! But I must be patient and enjoy the journey and make the most of the different lengths along the way. A metaphor for how to enjoy life perhaps? *

*Update – Although many people see Devacurl as the holy grail of hair care; It has recently come to my attention that there have been many reports of women developing hair and scalp problems after using this brand. There are lawsuits against the company

I am not, or have never been sponsored by Devacurl, I just heard good things about them and decided to buy their products and give them a shot. I personally have not had a bad experience using Devacurl after using it for 6 weeks, and all I can do is report my own experience using products in my videos, good or bad.

Personally I use the "Low-Poo" not the "No-Poo" I feel it's important to clean your scalp. I think a lot of people aren't cleansing their scalps properly, and that can lead to problems.

I have been doing research online though, and I thought it was interesting to get these experts opinions on subject - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksIZph...

I don't use Deva products exclusively, In my growing out journey I will be trying all sorts of hair products to see what works best for my hair. I love to hear what products work for you, there are only so many I can try myself!

I will not offer links to Devacurl products while this controversy is on going.

Hello: everyone thanks so much for stopping by today, I'm going to show you how I'm styling my growing out curly hair, as some of you might have noticed, I'm growing out my hair from this style that I've loved for the last ten years or so. But I'm definitely excited to try something brand new. This is my hair at its shortest. When I was young, I used to have long curly hair, but I've never had my hair longer curly and this silver gray color. I'Ve only had my hair totally great for the last four years. I want to see how my hair will look gray, curly and longer. I am really excited to check out all the great hair products that are especially formulated for curly hair. We didn't have the amazing curly hair products back then, when my hair was long that we have now it was the 70s and 80s and all there was was a crunchy mousse or gel that made your hair look permanently wet I've been growing it out for about Three months now - and it's still short hair, of course, but I've just decided to enjoy the journey and not to focus too much on how long it will get if it wasn't for mark of Raven salon in New Jersey, hey Mark, who is helping me with the Challenges of growing out my hair, I might have given up already it's very important, to have a good hair stylist to help keep your hair cut into a good shape, while it's growing out I'm going in for a trim about every six weeks now. I know that. Might seem counterproductive to some people, but if I just started to grow it out, my hair would have no shape to it and it would look like a mullet by now. No offense to anybody who loves a mullet, but all this hair by my neck would be down to here and it would look quite straggly and shapeless. So here's what I mean about enjoying the journey you're going through all these different lengths. So why not make the most of gents and try something new? You can put some new product in it or you couldn't straighten it or you can keep it curly. Some styles may not work, but you're probably going to find something that you really love. So don't be afraid to play around and have some fun after all, it's just a hairstyle and it will wash out if you don't like it. So let me show you how I've styled my hair today, let's go so this is just one way: I've been styling. My hair lately I've been using the diva curl products as well as some others, but for this video I'll show you the deeper curl products. I'Ve washed my hair with the diva curl shampoo and their conditioner they're a great product because they don't have any sulfates or parabens they're, very gentle on your hair and they don't strip out your natural oils. So this is a special towel. It doesn't frizz up your curly and it's also very absorbent, it's very thin and absorbent, and so that's what I've been using lately and my hair is just a little bit too dry. So I'm going to rewrite it using a spray bottle. Okay and then I'm going to take some of the frizz free of volumizing mousse. So let's take a nice big dollop and I'm going to start with the back. Sometimes people forget the backs of their heads when they're doing their hair. I must admit I'm guilty of that too. It'S important to concentrate on your frizzy bits. These are my little frizzy bits here. I'M going to have to go in for a trim soon, I can see, because around the neck tends to get a little bit frizzy. So I don't want that. It'S important to keep the style nice as you're growing out your hair. So that's why I go for my regular trims. He doesn't take too much off every time. It'S just keeping it in a nice shape as I go along. So I am getting this mousse into the root and pulling it through my hair, bringing it forward it's better to do a little bit at a time, as opposed to one big dollop in your hand, and then all over. I find that that distributes it more evenly and then, as you get to the front, make sure you like comb it through your hair get to the roots, because sometimes I think people just go on the surface and then you kind of have this frizzy root problem. Going on so you'll notice, as I'm putting this mousse in I'm kind of twisting my hair, so this is kind of I'm starting to style my hair now, but I'm actually going to start from the back with that twisting motion. So you can also comb the product through a little bit, especially at the back that helps, distribute the product. Okay, so I'm going to start twisting my hair in an upward and outward way giving it a little bit of a lift. Here I have a weird cowlick right here, so that's one of my little Bugaboos, that's something that I have to always be aware to look in look at the back of my hair and make sure that's covered because it looks like I'm balding back there. So I'm going to keep twisting the back, and now I'm working my way up to the top. It'S just arranging your curls you're, not fighting them too much. Now I'm going to add before I get too much into that, I'm going to add a little bit of my diva curl styling cream. This tends to keep the definite definition in a little better. If I just did the mousse, it would look nice initially, but then, if it was windy out or if I kind of run my hands through my hair, it would break up and then get a little fluffy. So this kind of stops that from happening. So I'm going to pull it through, mostly mostly on the ends. I find that if I use the cream too close to the scalp, it starts parting too much and again I almost feel like it starts making me look like I'm balding. So if you do have thinning hair, the last thing you want is to put tons of defining product at the root of your hair because it parts it and it will accentuate that thinness too much okay. So let me just I'm getting ahead of myself here without explaining what I'm doing so. I did the back here a little bit now, I'm going to keep twisting this area in the crown. This is where most of us like to have some height. So, do you see what I'm doing I'm just kind of twisting it kind of the way it wants to go? You can coach your hair too, to go to go into a star that it doesn't want to go, but it's much easier kind of just playing along with you. Hair-Do has the boss. Ultimately, let's face it. So do you see I'm just kind of twisting it like so I'm gon na comb this down, so you can kind of see what I'm doing now at first. This is going to look like one of those old-fashioned sets like when you just take your hair out of rollers or something, but it's very important to let it dry. While, while it's in this, these molded kind of curls you'll see why the more I go into it, so you know the front it's important, so I'm going to focus on that a little bit more. Let'S see what what this wants to do. Are you see that it wants to make that shape? So when I don't make that shape, then this now this is starting to come down a bit now, which looks kind of nice, see that's the thing about your hair. Don'T be too rigid in your thinking when you have curls you, you kind of have to go along with them to an extent you're, just encouraging them to go a certain way, so don't fight it too much now, as I told you before these little frizzy bits On the side, these are my little Bugaboos here, so I'm just kind kind of flattening them soon they're going to be a bit longer, but my my hairstylist is kind of cutting my hair. So right now it's this shape. I think in a couple of months it will kind of be two here which will kind of be like a Marilyn, maybe like a Marilyn Monroe style like a little retro. But that's what I mean by enjoying each step of the way as you're growing out your hair. Don'T take it too serious, it's err! So if you try this and it turns out - you know not as nice as you would like just it washes out. It'S easy enough: you can just try again or put a hat on this is how I'll leave it? If I haven't done my makeup yet I'll do this first and then I'll get on with my makeup and maybe dress, and then you have the option to break up the curl a little bit if you want to now. If you have to get out of your house fast, then you can diffuse this. I really like this diffuser it's by dry bar and the reason I like it is because it has vents in the tips, so you can put it right through to your roots. So your hair is not just getting dry on the surface, it's getting dry from the root or, if you like, you can just hold it back. You don't want to disturb the curl too much. Ordinarily, my preference is to just let it air dry and at this stage, because my hair is still short, it dries quite fast really, but just so you know how to use this I'll. Give you a quick demonstration. Well, I hope you enjoyed that, and maybe you picked up some tips, but before you go, I want to show you one more thing that you can do once your hair is in place and set and dried like this here goes. This is a one-shot deal. I might totally mess this up, but hey it's only here, so I take a dollop of Bumble and Bumble wax. It'S called thickening cream contour. I rub it between my fingers and distribute it over your hair. I'M going to like demolish my hair now see what happens. It just shows you that sometimes when, when you have a good time with your hair, something good might happen. Then again, maybe not sometimes I do this and I'm like. Oh, what have I done but hey. I think this is this is looking good, isn't this exciting, so that's nasty frizzy bits again or will I lie. I like this yep. I like this a lot. Okay, so that's another thing you can do so. This is bumble and bumble cream, contour I'll. Have all these products listed in the video description, so thanks again for stopping by my channel and when my hairs grown out a bit we'll do something else fun so see you then bye, bye, you

J.E. Y: This video is so timely! I am considering cutting my wavy/curly hair short since I am transitioning to gray hair and want to cut off the dyed brown hair. I have had pixie cuts in the past so I am not afraid of short hair, however, my son's wedding is coming up this summer and I wasn't sure I wanted short, transitioning hair for the wedding. You helped me realize that transitioning hair can look fantastic as long as you take care of it.

K Mac: HAIR GOALS!!! This is exactly the look I want to transition to - naturally wavy/curly mid length pixie cut with my natural dark and graying color. I’m at the beginning of my journey to fall in love with my natural hair. Thank you for all the specifics and demo!

Mary Ellen Maria Elena Rides: We have the same hair! I stopped coloring my hair since 2017 and I've been wearing it short since 1980. I always had the sides and back cut with a No.4 blade and the top is about 3.5 inches in length, (as you can see in my photo, right before I started allowing the silver to shine through), I would blow dry straight, only using my hands. Now, I've decided to grow it out and allow my curls to take center stage. I'm 57 years young and I too, want a change. I do exactly what you do with your hair, except I use different products: Zotos All About Curls. I'm going to try the Devacurl and see what results transpire and I too, have a cowlick on the back, right side of my head. I've decided to only cut the nape portion of my hair (every 6 weeks) instead of getting an entire trim. Since my hair is of a medium/thick consistency, I have my stylist texturized the top to give my curls some lift. You look lovely as always and thank you for sharing your growing out pixie cut journey. Now I have someone sharing my journey with me at the same time! Take good care~

Lizzie Sangi: Thank you for your upload and showing women how to "cope" with and take care of a cut that's growing out. Personally, having a great hairstylist is the key. ONE man cuts my hair and Robert has been doing it for years. Trying to trim my hair turned into an epic fail but Robert cut it properly. There were a thousand ways I wore that cut and when it grew out, it was in three distinct layers. You can't do your face and hve messy hair. Yea, everyday you hve to do your hair with your face. So you get a cut you're comfortable with and it doesn't take forEVer to get out the door. Have a couple of good products. Mine are Garnier leave in conditioner. At 63, my new natural color has frizz - something I never dealt with. This works and holds a light curl. A gel and good hairspray or blast freeze (got2be glued and aqua net hairspray). The gel is actually made by the guys from got2be glued, but they took one of the names off both products, SCHWARTZKOPF. HENKLE is the name attached. Three basics - one person you trust with your hair and the stylist "knows" your hair. My guy told me, "Now I know what kind of hair you hve, I know what kind of perm or body wave to put in your hair." A cut you can work with. Electric or velcro curlers can jazz it up a bit. Hair products that work for you and they DON'T hve to be expensive. No matter what age I believe we need to keep on top of things... there are no plans here for not wearing makeup, taking pride in looking the best we can. As a fellow New Yorker, my mom, aunts, and their friends taking me out and about New York since I was about 3 yrs old, we're born into the city scene. These women had cocktails at lunch, Shirley Temples, here, and shopped all afternoon - make overs included! Thank you for sharing your tips and keeping us abreast of the scene ❣

Gate Called Beautiful: Your hair is gorgeous! I have a pixie cut and I love when it grows out just enough to show the natural curl. I'm going to try the products you shared. I can't wait to see how you style it when your hair reaches that Marilyn Monroe retro length!

Debra Edith: Dear Kerry Lou, OMG I've just come across your growing out your hair video. My hair is similar to yours and I'm at the same stage as you. I love your message about not taking it all too seriously. I have been taking it very seriously and driving myself crazy. Thank you for the message about enjoying the journey and relaxing while I go through this process. My reason for growing out my hair is the same as you too!!! Oh wow, finding you at this moment is crazy and I'm so grateful to you for your guidance. Love Debra

Annette Bailey: I'm so happy to have found you, and I can't WAIT to see your new longer hair. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL at any stage. I'm pea green ... naturally curly, lucky you! :o) Annette

helpfulnatural: Oh man....you are telling my story exactly! I too have curly hair and we never had the products back when I was in my teens and 20's (70's & 80's). I fought with it constantly and straightened it for many years. About 10 years ago I decided to stop straightening it and feel free for the first time. :) I'm also growing out a very short haircut from last year, it's currently just below chin length. I started using DevaCurl products several years ago but they began to weigh my hair down over time. I now use a curly hair line from zotos called, All About Curls. I've been using this line for 5 months now and so far so good. It also gives me more volume. :) Curly hair has a mind of its own so if you fight it, your hair will win the battle every time! Lol.

Edgar Walters: This is Paula. I love your hair! My journey is 4" out that is a beautiful silver with a mix with silver in the back almost identical to yours. I have it cut to a short shoulder length at present. Thinking about short. My hair is naturally wavy, not as curly as yours. I've had short hair only once when i grew my hair to donate. You make it look so easy. You are such a beautiful lady. I so enjoy your channel. Your are a true inspiration!

Jeannine D.: Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. I love your videos and your calm manner, your tone and quality

Leah Bernstein: Thanks for the inspiration! Pixie since I was 16 and each time I've tried to grow it out, I get to the 8 week mark and want to scream. I love your attitude.

Fiona Frazer: You look so good with your curl. My hair type and wave/curl pattern is almost identical to yours, but I really don't care for the way it looks if I let it dry naturally! I always blow out the front, as I like to wear longer bangs, but I pretty much let the back air dry with the curl/wave. Haven't tried the Diva products, but love the Bumble & Bumble wax.

small footprint: Your hair is so pretty. I've been growing mine out too. It's not so curly, so harder to hide the problems. I do have to get it trimmed, though. Thanks for showing us how you do it.

Vicki Gunter Graham: I LOVE your new hairstyle! It looks fantastic.

Sue Castillo: Hi Beautiful!!! LOVE this tutorial!!! You’re fabulous and this is such a great video! I’m anxious to see the end result!!! Thanks for the tips!!! Watch you soon again! We need you keep up the good work!!!❣️

Tygerlady99: You have lovely curly hair and really like your current style. I especially like the two tone color. My hair has started getting gray - more at the back and sides. Once it overtakes my brown hair, I'd like to have your color of hair. You look fabulous!

debweth: It is so much easier with wavy or curly hair; mine is flat as can be and shows every single little strand. Your hair is gorgeous!

Becky Kueng: Your hair is beautiful!! I wish my thin, flat hair had the curl and volume that you have !!! I love your silver , grey color too ! Such a lovely look ! Enjoyed this video.....

Terri Dunkel: Thank you so much for your help and advice. I love your hai and find that after watching you I have come to love my hair a little more. After alopecia and years of wearing wigs, I am trying to use your styling video to be brave and love what my curly gray hair is for now.

Lori Walter: I've been waiting for this video! Thanks! My hair is silver, curly, and long. Considering a short cut soon (I plan to donate 6" to Wigs for Kids charity. I love your curls - I think mine would look similar.

tamar b'ahava: I love the Deva Curling cream. I use only mouse at the roots, because it dries out my hair. Looking forward to seeing how you style longer hair (curly!). A drug store brand that is equal is the Quenching coconut curls frizz defying curl styling milk (a tacky cream) and moisture mousse. Thanks & you are beautiful!

D Love of God: I love your curls! I just started growing out my hair after getting it cut short a year ago. I have extremely straight hair & now the white just has a wiry thing going on. The journey hasn't been as much fun for me.

Tina V.: LUV everything you said about "The Journey" in the first 2:30 and, I'll be sharing it with some FB groups! Looking forward to seeing YOUR journey in growing out. MUCH respect for you, Kerry-Lou :)

Kaye Carter Mature Woman Daily Dose: Such a cute cut and love the curl. Sending Hugs, prayers, love, a smile and kindness…

Maria H: I love your hair this way! Looking forward to the next length. If I could find a hair stylist to trim my hair evenly, I would be ever so happy.

kathy lam: Gorgeous! Just got my 2nd Deva cut yesterday & am loving it so far. Its like yours, but longer. I could probably do the Marilyn thing with mine - good idea, Kerry! My grey - white really, is almost fully grown out...only about an inch of blond in sone places and i am loving it!

Analia Bazet: Kerry, buen día, soy de Buenos Aires Argentina, y ha sido un placer haberte encontrado aquí en YouTube hace pocas semanas, gracias por los tips, siempre ayudan, cariños para ti!

Vivien Mcnaul: I just heard curls are in. Perfect timing and interested to see the final look

ZainaDancer: So funny, I have a cowlick in exactly the same place as you! While you were twisting your hair after applying the mousse I kept looking at the back of your head and thinking, is she going to fix that?! I have wavy hair and have been contemplating growing out my Pixie; watching you style yours gives me a little more confidence. Thank you for this video.

Blaze Mama: Thank you for these tips. Especially as I have not been able to get my short gray hair trimmed in over 2 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic closures in the US. These tips will be very helpful.

Carla Hubbard: Hi pretty lady! I used to have the same long curly hair growing up. Now in my 40s I have lost lots of hair so I cut it just like yours and I have a hard time time styling it. Thank you for the tips.

Yolanda Medina: Hi Beautiful! Love your hair and your videos! Thank you for sharing your tips! Look forward to your next video! Enjoy your weekend!

ianque pereira: Que mulher bonita, aqui no Brasil nos também estamos adotando os cabelos grisalhos, inclusive o meu cabelo é curto, cacheado e gris. Amei seu vídeo. You are beautifull.

Mary Bpyce: I like your hair at the stage it is in now. It looks great

TheRayjane: That’s what I admire about you most , your hair is just stunning. Love your silver gray. It so cute now too. You are stunning now and then in your younger years. Thank you for all the instruction you give on makeup and hair. Question ? Did you ever color your hair? I’d like to go gray and don’t know which path to take.

Jill Burkett: I’m gray and I’ve had my hair cut short like Jamie Lee Curtis maybe shorter 1 inch long for years now. With the Covid 19 I have not been able to get a haircut. So this past week I got in and got a perm just for a change and today I curled it. It looks fine if it was the eighties and fixing it that way makes me look older. So glad I’ve seen how you fix your hair, I’ll try it tomorrow.

marylglass: Thank you for giving me confidence to embrace my curly hair!

sarita dugat: Love the hair. Mine is shoulder length and straight. For years I had a curly perm. Now I decided to let it be straight. I like it better. Love your videos

Sherry Kinkade: You are so beautiful. I am 70 and went from my shoulder length hair to a pixie in July of this year. Guess it is not a true pixie, but it is much shorter than I am use to. I don't dislike it shorter but know I want it to grow back out. If I looked as pretty as you with it short, I would keep it that way. I am having some difficulty with it growing out. Lots of weird curls and patterns. I do go to my stylist regularly so that should help. Thank you for the tip on the last product. I am going to give it a try. I have more products in my cupboard now then when my hair was long

catmama54: You have fabulous hair. I wish mine were curly. It’s so lifeless as I’m trying to grow it and may break down and cut it.

Ladynipchick2: Growing mine out too. Bit longer than yours, but totally endorse regular small trims and shaping. I couldn't have copied without those. They really, really help! Oh, I also have a cowlick crown thing going on!

PurpleBirch: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Thank you so much for the tips.

Frankie Nichols: I found your picture on the internet and finally found your video. I've always battled my curly hair and now I'm enjoying wearing it curly. Thanks a million for sharing this.

Denise Scull: Loving the new look! Thanks for sharing

phyllis fantauzzo: I absolutely love your hair and style! Also in your other videos when it’s a bit longer. At another time I asked you what products you were using, please keep us curly locks informed. I know we all keep spending a lot of money on trying new products as you are doing

Elaine: For the longest time I hoped you would let your hair be fuller. Looks nice now. Enjoy the transition.

Sue Humphreys: New subscriber here. I have the same curly hair as you only my air is thick. I used to wear it in a short curly shag look just like the way you are wearing it in this video. I just finished growing it out all one length about 6 months ago, the straight shoulder length style does not do anything for me, I have an appointment on 8/25 /21 to get it cut back into a curly shag style like you have in this video. My face appears so much brighter with short hair, the longer hair seems to pull my face down and I am tired of the blow drying straightening process. I love your hair in this video, you are so pretty!!!

Trish Cawood: Just wanted to let you know that Deva Curl has lots of complaints about hair loss...some of the curly girls are stopping using it. Your hair will be so pretty and it is now too!

Susana Souza: Thank you Kerry-Lou. Loved your tips! Very useful!

Connie Waddell: I grew my grey out, then kept going until it was at my bra strap. But...short would be so great again. I keep looking at yours and am totally envious! Maybe next visit to the salon. Thanks for your channel!

spottedbutt: Another great styling creme is Manipulator by TIGI. It is amazing and I have been using it for years instead of spray.

Peggy Oberlander: I love your hair color. I tried growing out my hair last year. My hair is so thick that I finally got tired of blowing drying it. It took so long. What do you use on your brows? Are they your natural color? If not please let me know. I am having such a hard time with brow products and color now that my brows are white. Great advice.

Pamela Corsi: The products that are available now are amazing for dealing with my frizzy wavy hair! Youtube videos have helped me learn how to blow dry. I can have straight hair for two days after I blow dry or I can go beachy and natural. I know a lot of older women cut their hair short to deal with the texture of our aging hair but thats not necessary anymore. I think I look more feminine with a chin length blunt cut. I also swim and have dry hair so I use a lot of hydrating products and protect my hair when blow drying. I use mostly Davines products. I get compliments on my hair almost every day! So after all these years of my hair being a daily struggle I now think of it as one of my biggest assets!

Blanqui's Creations: Hello Kerry-Lou, this video was recommended. So glad it was. Icut my hair a few months back and it's grown...I don't like the way it looks as it's growing. Which after watching this video I think I want to cut it again and follow your technique of trimming as it grows. It's Sunday and I think I am going to watch a few more videos. I like your style, and soft spoken personality. I'm soon going to be 56 and I want to look my Best I've been single for over 10 years. No dating, no nothing. Don't feel bad. I have been working on me. In every aspect of my life. When I were younger I thought I had to live before I turned 50 because back then I thought life and Adventure ends at 50. ( NOT ) life actually Starts. Because we have become our best version yet. Kerry-Lou I am a subscriber and I will be running in for more Beauty tips. Blessed Day

Rosann Supino: You have beautiful curly hair. It looks great.

Donna Thornburg: I am 73 and decided to grow out my pixie that I have had most of my life. Thanks for your tips.

Carol Fudali: Did you know a pixie style would suit you before you cut it? Thinking of going short to hasten my grey growing out process but not sure how short to go.

Diana Daughter of the Most High God: You have Lovely hair!!! I am trying to grow mine out but my texture is thin so it is hard to style as it grows.

TheFluffy1966: Looks fabulous!  You have a great attitude.... its just hair!  Have fun :)

Musingsatcoco: You were highly recommended and am now an avid follower. At 74 am growing out my hair which is becoming the same color as yours. Will probably get it cut into a pixie when the growth is about 4". Thanks for all of your tips. It is helping me through the process which is fun, fun, fun.

Maria Neal: I love your enthusiasm, it encourages me to try things. Thank you.

Siw Rudolfsen: Finally I found a styling video for short naturally curled hair

Claire Tremblay: Kerry-Lou you are so distinguished & chic! I Love your hair this way & short to. You seems to have a good hairstylist. For your make-up, I like when you wear lipstick with more vibrant colors, it gives you a lot of radiance, rejuvenate and illuminates your beautiful face.

Rosalie Frick: Your hair and style is beautiful now. Am interested in seeing what ideas you decide to try.

Cat Skittles: LOVE your new look! Just when I thought you can't improve on 'perfection'...I was wrong! ❤ But, more than hair...I love your personality. You don't encourage ridiculous 'perfection', what many times is done. Perfection isn't acheivable...why set yourself up for disaster? Like you, I'd rather just be pleased and lighthearted....it's more fun!

Sally Blatchford: Oh to have a head of hair like yours . It’s absolutely beautiful as are you ~

Miss LS: I love this.. my hair is very thick like yours and in September cut it short I'm now growing it back.. I'm so glad your can show some ideas with your hair and make up and your going to look amazing... lucky lady.. blessed with English genes..

Marie Joy: Lovely style I’ve cut hair short now and quite happy for now, careful with the back though, I don’t know if you sorted the gap, I’m sure you did

Linda R.: I really don’t think you could do anything, but “beautiful “. ❤️

Chabela González Roa: Welcome to the community of the gray, curly, long haired girls! Just take care of the color, some products for the curls may give you a yellowish tone that is not nice. Use a purple shampoo once in a while but also carefully, because they are usually quite drying. Go ahead, girl! Kisses.

Luz Sandoval: Hi Kerry-Lou. I am excited to see you new hair look as I am a curly head too.

Judy Patrick: It looks beautiful!

Ziggy3339: Question: I’m new here, so bare with me. Just saw this video with a quick snapshot of your “old” brown hair. It was stunning! Why are you wanting grey? Also...FYI, I just saw a couple videos on Deva Curl products (of which I own a TON as well). They apparently cause damage to hair now. Even fallout. So you might want to check that out. (I’m sorry ). Love you’re curly hair! Aveda might have something you’d prefer , I don’t know. This Deva Curl has been such fun for me...but at my age I don’t want to lose more hair.

She Reves: Absolutely stunning!

Mandy Mckeown: Your hair looks amazing I have naturally curl hair too and it’s going grey I so hope it’s like yours . Your beautiful indeed

Luthiers Daughter: I think your hair is beautiful! I have short hair too. But I've lost my curls over the years. I just have, full, thick, mildly wavy hair now. Not a joy to work with like when I was "younger" I have a hard time getting a good cut too. Thanks for sharing the details!

Jam Cakes: I will be watching this process with interest, as I have curly hair which is cut into a very short pixie. I usually give up once I hit That awkward (for me) phase around the ears.

Christiane Huot: Love your new look !!!

Kathleen Phipps: You're such a beauty; you'll look wonderful with any length hair Can't wait to see your journey "no offence to anyone who has a mullet"

Cindy Clark: Oh no...your pixie is divine and so you!!! Please don't give up on it!

Kathy Smigen: I have your hair texture and curl/waves but mine is almost shoulder length when wet. Have you watched/read anything about the Curly Girl method? As your hair gets longer, you may want to try applying your styling products in the shower on really wet hair. As it gets longer, apply with your head down. Then scrunch excess out with microfiber towel instead of keeping your hair wrapped in the microfiber towel. Then don’t touch it as it dries. Love your channel!

Leslie Molengraaf: Fabulous, helpful video!

Kimberly Guiseppe-Cooley: Kerry-Lou you have t h e most beautiful hair! Great style too❣❣❣

Regina Hanson: I Love your hair!♡

Lovey Lovey: Kerry-Lou, I loved watching this video. I was so excited to finally try some hair products for my short hair. I went the next day and purchased all the DevaCurl products you used and this morning I tried it. It seems to work really well....then I saw several youtube videos that were discrediting the DevaCurl company and the horror stories from these people. I was really disappointed in what they said. I was wondering if you have heard anything. Would you mind doing some research and let me know what you think? I would like to continue using DevaCurl by now I am hesitant. Please help.

Mar 😉: Gorgeous love it honey

Europa 17: Longer gray hair is beautiful with all the variations.

Gina Bove: I searched for this..decided to grow out my super short pixie cut...again. I have wavy, not curly hair. Thanks for the tips

Kelli Kim: Beautiful!

M Dison: You are a gorgeous woman in any length hair! Love your videos.
