I really needed a cut, but i didn't want to spend like 30 plus dollars just to have a little trim really want to avoid getting my hair done at the salon as much as possible, and i think, like i found a way online, that you can just Cut it by yourself, and it was actually really really easy. Well, first step is put on your makeup to look sexy for this video. You know how it is. So all you need is a hairbrush, some scissors and a straightener, so you want to start off straightening your hair. The reason you need to straighten your hair is to make sure all of your hair is completely the same length. So, like you know, when you get your hair done at the salon, they usually spray your hair wet. So it's completely straight down. So once your hair is all straightened, you want to just flip it all in the front start straightening it forward and basically do a backwards ponytail. So it's in front of your head and you don't have to really worry about the little hairs on the side. I was kind of worried about that thinking. It would like mess it up somehow, but it doesn't have to be perfect. Just make sure it's in the front. So then, you just want to add two more ponytails one in the middle of your hair and then one at the very end. I put it near the ends where i would like to cut it off. So just put the bottom ponytail wherever you plan to cut off the amount of hair that you want. So then i just cut above the hair tie and just do like a straight cut across and yeah and that's how much length you're going to take off. So then, you just take off the middle ponytail, and then you have to divide your hair in three pieces. Try to make it even it doesn't have to be perfect. I kind of did it a few times trying to make it perfectly, but i don't think it really matters, i'm not really sure, but just try to divide them evenly as much as you can and then put them in three ponytails. And this is where you start to do the upwards chopping again, and i think this is where you start doing your layers. So once you think you've done enough, you can take out your ponytails and just check and see how it looks if you think anything looks uneven or whatever you can just try to fix it. I guess just clip them some more and you're not really doing anything. Fancy you're just clipping upwards, just like how you're seeing in the video, oh my god, wow, look freaking how good those look! Okay, i might need to fix it up a bit but holy crap, i'm looking in the mirror over there by the way wow. I can't believe i did that so this is where i started trying to fix the layering on the one side up, hi guys, i'm back so the last clip that you saw um. I just finished cutting my hair and i was actually really impressed after i let my hair down and i saw the results and everything. But the only problem was that, because i did the layering um, then if you noticed in my other clip you saw over here, it was like a big random blunt cut of um the layers, and it was just like it didn't match. With the other side. Like see how right now it looks like together - and it like, looks a little bit more blended and like a proper fade of like um, the layering. So what i would recommend is to the layering fell perfectly parted in the middle. But because i have my hair slightly, not parted in the middle, it's kind of like on the side there. It wasn't even so for some reason, when i did the ponytail right in the middle, it made the layering for a parted middle. Sorry, that's my cat! So i don't know if, if you put the ponytail more to the left or to the side of your part, if it would actually make the layering to fit your part, i don't know if that would work or not. I was going to try it but um. I ended up letting my fiance shockingly fix this for me um, so he actually did a really good job and i'm like i really love it um. It still looks long, but all the dead ends are cut. I haven't cut my hair in like a year over a year or something. Last time i cut my hair. I think it was like really really short like up to there or something um. So then i i really needed a cut, but i didn't want to spend like 30 plus dollars just to have a little trim, because it's really expensive at the hairdressers and i always find it very uncomfortable to go there, like. You always feel forced to talk to the hairdresser, and especially with the whole coven thing. It was really not going to be fun trying to go in there and because it's always like really hard to get in the hair salon anyway, because like if you just walk in any way it is but um it's really expensive. It'S uncomfortable. It'S just not fun. I just really want to avoid getting my hair done at the salon as much as possible, and i think, like i found a way online, that you can just cut it by yourself and it was actually really really easy. So i i would definitely try this again but um. I would definitely do this again, but i don't know if i would try to do the layering, because i think the layering part was where it went wrong with the whole like side. But if i just parted my hair right down the middle, it would have came like perfectly. It wouldn't have looked like one big, random chunk of short hair here um. I wish i kind of took a video last night of it parted in the middle and how it looked very, even then, but yeah i just didn't the it was getting dark and everything so but yeah. My fiance actually did a really good job and i really love it and i'm so glad i could achieve this without going to the hair salon. I just had to buy some cheap, well decently, cheap scissors on amazon and i'll leave a link below of my scissors. I got i just took the highest rating bestseller on amazon and they actually worked really well, i'm like really happy that i can get my hair cut whenever i want at home and yeah, so i would really recommend this. The only thing is, if you part your hair on the side, i don't know how it would work for you and i don't know how to avoid that. Sorry, she keeps crying. I had to let my cat out because she kept crying. I had the door shut um, so, oh now, my other cat's trying to get out so yeah. This will definitely work for you. If you part your hair down the middle, i don't know what you would do to make it work like this with um, like your hair parted on the side, i think, next time i cut my hair. I wanted to try it again to see if it would like work if i parted over here and did a ponytail this way. I don't know because my parting is really not that far off from the center, so i really have no idea because it was quite a big chunk over here and we had to fix it. But it looks a lot better now and i'm surprised that my fiance did a really good job. He actually got his um sister. His sister is a hair dresser and she kind of like helped us with fixing it but um, but that was over or over face time, so it wasn't like she was actually here to do it. I forgot to like, let you know, but like all we did was we just took the sides here and um just like in the video earlier. I was cutting that like this and you just cut down like downwards like that, to make it like that, um feathered, layered, look and i also used the thinning scissors and did the same to make it more light and fluffy and wispy. I'Ve been like waiting and waiting to get those scissors in the mail and i'm so happy that i finally was able to cut my hair because it was been long overdue to cut my hair and it feels so good. And i'm so glad - and i feel so amazed that i could do this at home and yeah. So that's all for this video. Let me know what you think. I think it's pretty uh good turned out pretty good for a free haircut and yeah. You can just keep getting better and better as you do it every time and you can learn your own techniques, see what you like to do and what works and what doesn't. I might do another video again if i try to do it on this side. Next time i want to do a trim on my hair, but yeah um follow my instagram at alexandria and don't forget to subscribe and to ring the post notification bell. So every time i post a new video, you will get a notification and you can just click. My video and watch it and i'll see you next time.

Willow The Golden Retriever: That looks really good! It created pretty face framing layers..... very cool, more modern looking than what you had.

S s: Looks stunning

Gabrielle Kelly: I think your layers are done from the placement of the ponytail. The point cutting at the ends is so it isn't straight acrossed blunt cut. Edit: the end result is incredible!!!

Marta Gasset Rodriguez: Tiaaaaa guapaaaaaaaa, te queda super bien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) <3

Trang Trang: Love it

Kendra Nicholson: That point cutting you're doing in the 3 ponytails is so you don't have crazy blunt lines *trained cosmetologist*

theblindbandit: You look like (video cover) Teen Wolf Malia! Really...

Fatah Karami: Long hair is more beautiful
