In this video, I show you how to create a sleek + volumized ponytail. One of my Beauty Resolutions for 2011 was to get comfortable with wearing my hair up and off my face. Also, yes that's my hair -- no extensions! And that's my natural color. xo

Hello gorgeous okay. So let's get started. The first thing that I did was just brush through my hair to smooth away any tangles, I'm going for a very sleek ponytail. So I'm going to be straightening, my hair, unless you have perfectly straight hair, you're, probably going to need a flatiron to recreate this look, I'm using the ti chrome, I'm separating my hair into sections to make sure that I don't miss a strand. I want my hair to be as straight as possible for this look and then I'm just going to go ahead and straighten my hair. This part is pretty straight forward. I'M not really doing anything fancy or anything special, I'm just straightening, my hair, as I normally would you you so here's a part where I get up off my ass to show you what a great job CI chrome did at straightening, my hair. So now you want to go ahead and section away the top front portion of your hair. This doesn't have to be too precise, but you just want to make sure that you're getting an even amount of hair on both sides so that your hair won't look lopsided at the ends. We'Re all finished, then just go ahead and pull up the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Take a little piece of hair from underneath your ponytail about an inch or so wide and wrap that around the base of your ponytail to hide the elastic. Taking a little bit of hair at a time from that top section to use the hair gently at the roots and spray it with some hairspray now for more lifts which you can do is hold the hair up for a few seconds just to let the hairspray Dry a little bit before you let it go so then you want to go ahead and gather that top section together and give it a little twist and pin it into place. You want to let the ends drape over the ponytail, I kind of like how this hides the ponytail, and it gives it a little bit of a different, more interesting look than just a typical ponytail hairstyle, and if you have little baby hairs and flyaways like. I do, I recommend spraying a little bit of the hairspray onto your hand and then using that to smooth down the little baby hairs and things it's a lot more lightweight than using a gel or anything gross like that. And now, with your hair up and out of the way you can show off your pretty face, everybody can see your pretty eyes. It'S such a cool hairstyle. I really like this, so I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
