Quadriplegic Woman Puts Hair In Ponytail

Check out how Beth, quadriplegic and AbleThrive board member, puts up her hair in a ponytail without moving her fingers. It took her years to learn and now you can try it.

Hi, I’m Beth, so I’m going to show you how I put my hair up in a ponytail with quadriplegic hands because it took me about 2 years to figure this out with balance and finger motion and everything.. So first I put the hair thing between my just over two of my fingers over my thumb and my pointer finger okay., And the next part is to kinda, like just scoop myself in my chair, so that I can lean back and get better. Grip. Like that, and then I use my hands and arms and everything to get it, and I hold it in place with my wrist and then grab it with my other hand, and then I put my hair thing over these two fingers and then kinda use my Head as like a base to kinda push my hand, my fingers, so that they are around the ponytail and then I just use one of my fingers as a hook to pull it through. And then twist it like that and then get my thumb through and then Pull with the other fingers as a hook and then two fingers again., I always use the two fingers because the other ones are useless. Voila,
