How To Cut Your Own Hair (Beard Haircut Technique ✂️)

I'm so happy with how this turned out!!

Thanks to YouTube I finally cracked how to cut my own hair.

Haircut fail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScMHfg...

Unicorn haircut : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNcJyI...

DIY hair ties from tights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axRYcZ...=

Where I learnt the beard technique from: https://youtu.be/kgYVImOwYiI

This is going to be my third attempt at caveman hair. The first one was a complete disaster. It was all uneven at the back. I hated it. I lived with it and then I went to a hairdresser to sort it out. The second one I did. I loved but only cut in layers, it didn't cut off any length or the very bottom parts which means that, because I've left it for a good few weeks, they now so full of sleds. So I really need to find a new technique to cut off the bottom bits, and I think I found one it doesn't have a name, but I'm calling it the bid technique. The idea is, is that you split your hair, you bring it together and do your chin into a beautiful beard and you just cut it off the bottom. It seems pretty simple. Maybe too simple, I've sprayed so much water in my hair, but I heard that that does help you get a perfectly straight line, but I don't really care about that. It'S more just to hide the fact that once again, it is super greasy, because I always kid just before showering and I try to put off washing my hair for as long as possible because I really don't want to dry it out. But they tell me, oh and I'm using my tights hair bubbles that I talked about in my tights video. If you want to make them so yeah. Ok, this is it Oh. The first thing I'm noticing is that I cut in the layers, but the length was last taken off by hairdresser and you can see that it all tapers down into a nice little point and I'm also going to be doing the blankets already, I'm changing it beyond What the professionals did - oh, I should've, maybe four sprayed it. I should have seen how damaged it wasn't wearing after you want to call. I can't see any spoons now I've got them there, a head by the way by her. That'S not level it's hard to do it in the mirror. Definitely don't want a super straight line, so I'm gon na then just cut up into it loads. If I should see there aren't sections, I just do one big massive Joker. Okay, it's not quite as blunt now. Don'T worry, I'm gon na sweep it all up and compost it okay moment of truth, okay step one! Does it look even at the front, looks a lot shorter to me I'll, get there eventually we'll grip this hair out? I'M not used to it being wet, but yeah seems alright. How'S it gon na look at the back. Do you sure I can't see in the mirror? I can see it in the camera, but that's quite small. My mirrors all wrong good. I had an Apple sticker on the back, so the whole filming that great professional happy with it. That seems really good. This looks horrific, but that looks good. Why do you ask one that seemed so complicated with so many steps? Is this gon na be tackling video? Is that it now? I just do that at the bottom and then layers on top boom haircut. Oh, let's see how it looks in my normal part: Oh ignore the comb. I dropped it in the shower, but it still works. It'S fine, it's hot! How wet - but this is fine, oh my god. I just kept my own hand. It wasn't even a big deal, maybe when late sneak doing to be fair. Is that too bold to do layers in this video as well yeah? Do some layers it'll be fine? Okay, so four layers: this is the unicorn Attica. I explained it more in my other video, but this is basically the gist very important to have the ponytail super tight. Super sleek look it'll be uneven. Just gon na do a tiny bit just a tiny weeny little bit. Okay, I need to do my hands the other way and then maybe color, okay, yeah not thrilled with this, but we'll see how it looks once I've washed it and dried it here we go. This is the finished haircut. I really like it. I think it came out really well see the back there yeah one of the issues I do have with the unicorn cup for the layers is that when I have a side parting that all on one side, there's basically no layers on this side. I guess that should be true if you've got a haircut with the middle parting anyway, unless you specifically did it on one side but yeah there we go this. Is it I'm really happy with it so yeah? I think this is gon na, be my routine now. So I'm trying to grow it out so every 11 weeks just give it a tiny trim to keep away the splits, and that's it my little video seriously, though, where I've sister out, if anything, changes I'll give you an update, bye. This is definitely my best home hacker yeah. I have heard of people with curly hair cutting their cows one by one. I don't feel like my hair is curly enough for that just yet there are definitely some Street patches and it's not where I want it to be just yet, but that is definitely something I want to try when it gets a bit better but yeah. That'S it. Thanks for watching subscribe, if you're new and I'll see you next week, bye

The Life Created - Travel Vlog: Came here for a hair cut, stayed because of your personality. Stay happy

caroona123: Thank you, this made my life 100% easier in about 2 minutes! Like you I had tried other methods with lots of steps and this is so much better and the bottom line is so much more precise now. Yay! Thank you!

Lorena E: For the unicorn cut do the ponytail closer to your forehead so the layers are more noticeable Edit: You'll be able to keep your length but still have more volume with the layers.

Christy Franz: I never cut my hair on my own before and I tried this today. It came out beautifully Thank you so much for this tutorial! I recommend it to anyone

Helen Karamitros: The first ever haircut I cut on my own and have had amazing results! So happy! Thank you so much for this!

MKat: I have very long hair & I always do this for a trim. It works. I'm not wasting money at the salon just for a trim. If you have thick hair like me, you need to be extra careful. Take your time & use the correct scissors. Don't use typical scissors, get the ones specifically for hair! Make sure your hair is damp/wet! It'll make it easier. Also, don't cut too much off your first time! Get comfortable with it!

LifeOfGeeks: Just did my hair, brill results, just how I wanted it , great relatable tutorial

Eileen Fuentes: I love your reaction to your work! As a hairstylist occasionally I had that bubbly client that would love their haircut and show the same excitement as you and that is the best feeling!

Gamer Named Darvit: Oh! Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I've been cutting my own hair for years, but my hair gets more curly the longer it gets so I want to grow out the heavy layering to a gentle taper. This method will give me the exact style I was looking for! I'm super excited to start trimming my ends with this method. (I have the corkicelli curl pattern). I subscribed. ♥️☮️

Eris Norr Vandt: This is how I’ve always done it too. After i’ve cut the ‘beard’ i take out the elastic and brush the hair flat down on each side - then make adjustment and make sure the hair is the same lengt on each side.. After that i take the elastic, make a normal low ponytail, bring the ponytail to the front on first the one side - cut any longer hairpieces, then bring/drag the ponytail in the front on the other side and cut off any longer pieces there also. It always work out like that.

Emy: Best hair tutorial video ever. Super easy and super doable for a normal person! Thanks!

Miss Ora: I haven’t been able to go in for a haircut. Got brave and saw your beard technique - tried it & I love the results. Your sense of humor added to the enjoyment -stay happy.

Sheila Rabant: Love this! I been doing both for a while now, simply wonderful.

cindibee7: Thank you! It looks professional! I'm in desperate need of a cut. With this pandemic it's been 15 months since I've had a cut . I think I can do this!

Pat Summer: This is awesome & makes so much sense!!! ❤️ I've cut mine using the unicorn method & love it because my hair feels thick (my hair is a bit on the thin side) afterwards... except I can never get my length quite right ‍♀️‍♀️ I can't wait to try your beard method out ✂️‍♀️ thanks so much for this great tutorial!!! ‍♀️❤️

Sheila Perez: I’ve been watching hair cutting tutorials and came across yours. Just wanted to see a simple trim. You are just so pleasant and fun to watch!

Historian212: I like it! I have wavy hair, too, which is very forgiving when you're trying to do your own cut and you're not a hairdresser. I've done the unicorn cut and it worked out great, but I'm going to try the beard cut now to take some of the length off. Thanks for posting!

Teacher Falguni: I just did your beard method and it worked! Had a glass of white wine as I chopped away! I love it....& yes it’s me talking and not the wine. Thanks so much from a broke divorced single mom for saving me money.

Miriam Spiconardi: Omg I did this. This was so much fun and something I’ve feared to do my whole life and I’m so happy I did it :) thank you!!!

Dee Gralak-Roe: Quick, easy and looks lovely

ShetheOvercomer: Thank you so much. I did the layered diy, but I needed the length cut off. I'm going to use this next.

Kanak Tripathi: Had a breakup Felt disgusting Cannot go out due to Covid Needed some bad bi*ch energy Chopped down half of my hair Feeling great Thank you so much for this method❤❤❤❤

Theresa layton: Thanks so much for this, I've been watching hair tutorials one after the other looking for a simpler way! And WOOT WOOT I FOUND IT GOING TO BE GIVING THIS A TRY THIS AFTERNOON.... WISH ME LUCK ❤️❤️❤️

Simply KatieAnn: I’m totally trying this!! (And Of course I’m going to record it for a video too! )Thanks for sharing the beard cut! New subscriber here!

Denise Moye: It looks fantastic! There are so many hair tutorials on YouTube since ‘covid’ so many hairdressers will find themselves out of a job because if you find a technique that works for you, why bother going to a hairdressers. You’ve found a good length cutting technique and long layers technique. There are other more advanced YouTube tutorials but actually, they have the same end effect so from what I’ve seen, this is just perfect. ♥️

Mermaids Are Real: Wow. I just did this and it works!!! Fastest and best diy haircut I've done! Thanks

จินตนาการ: Thank you! Turns out beautiful and so easy!

Katherine Baldwin: Definitely going to try the beard cut! I thought for the unicorn cut the pony tail goes at the front of the head tho. Well that's how I did mine, but it ended up too layered as it's quite fine. So am hoping the beard cut will help and maybe can combine to two in future.

Ferry: It turned out so beautiful definitely trying this out :))

Rachel Lewis: Absolutely stunning, love it! Xxx

Alexa D: Looks like a really good technique, very simple, I’m going to try too , thanks

Gunjan Gohil: I am gonna try a haircut on my own for the first time and I hope it works for me too. Fingers crossed! ♥️

Angelica B: Ah that’s well done and easy as pie. Love it. Thank you

陆光森: I first used this method (not this video though) as well. It might get you a straight cut, but honestly that’s so boring and difficult to make. I recommend rather using the unicorn ponytail method. It’s the easiest ever. I was scared at first because I looked up fails of this method, and there were some… of people who got it all wrong. If you do this properly (right angle, hair from the back on top, hand parallel to you head etc) it works. All the time. I was also worried that the angle might be too much and I will have so much layers I can’t make braids, but if you do the cut parallel with a low angle, it’s only slightly layered. I even used this method when I cut my mums hair the first time and realized it’s not even. She said let’s try this method, and it came out perfectly.

Alexandra Soto: Thank you! I just cut my daughters curly hair using this technique.

Tiffany Glasser: It looks fantastic and what a great technique!!

Dora Dora: I did that !!!! Following you at the very moment of cutting … my hands are still shaking but it worked !!!! Omgggggg you’re the bestttttt girlllllll

PlayRightParent: At first I wondered why it looked like she had ponytails in the back, then I realized it’s the mirror.

Korinna Sanchez: Thank you! I just tried it and worked great!!! I just needed two inches off and this cut saved me $$

Cyn's Corner: I thought it did have a name - I saw a hairdresser refer to this as a beard cut (or something like that). Looks super easy!

Tiramisu Latte: I cut my own curly hair like this, amazing, thank you

Bridget and poppy: She cracks me up!!! Loved her reaction, looks really good too

Crooaa Hull: I love how happy you are with your hair cut* great positive outlook

Leslie Gums: Well end product looks pretty good for a home hair cut BUT, for layers do not put your hair in a ponytail. Just comb everything forward and cut in front of your face. Ling layers drag all the hair towards your chin. For short layers cut up towards eye level. You can also twist the hair and cut between your hand hold and the body of the hair. I hope this makes sense when in doubt just cut a small amount and check to see if you like what your producing. If you want more of a "shag" type if layering comb hair straight up in a ponytail and cut. I recommend you position your hold of the ponytail halfway between the crown and the front hairline. Good luck. Wish i could draw a picture but best i can do for now.

Marlee W: Tried this. It’s totally works.

Abigale Churaman: ALSO I had a good idea. What if you practiced doing the "snip snip" into it to make it not blunt on your split ends. Then when you need to thin the ends of the final cut, you practiced? I cut my own hair and well. I am looking to correct it. I will try your method!!

jeanine fatato: yours is the best home self cut ive seen so far simple trim for long hair, great job!

Bebil J: I had tried this & I'm glad it doesn't turns out uneven! Thank you

Grace H C: Looks lovely thank you for sharing. I will do this the next time I do my home impulse haircut

suruchi gupta: I could never laugh this much when I'm alone or talking to a camera.. P.s. she's happy soul ❤

Eibmozluver: Worked my butt off all through 2020, and was still doing so until now. Now I'm home for 2 weeks. Thanks new strain of Covid. I think it's time to cut my past my ass hair. ❤️ That looks amazing!

Rachael Kellett: That’s fab thank you I have really long hair so this was a rather simple job

Rainbow Girl: Perfect Thank you for sharing! I have long hair and other techniques just left my hair uneven at back This one awesome

EmBee: In the middle of Corona, where I live hairdressers had to close completely. I was growing my hair to donate it to children in need of wigs. So here I sat with hair reaching down to my butt annoying me each day. Since it seems like hairsaloons will stay closed for many weeks to come I thought why not? So I tried, cut off 35 cm to donate and then started the "precision work". It may not be as good as made by a hairdresser, but I'm more than okay with the outcome. I feel somehow relieved :D

M.K.D.9905: Much, Much better than the ponytail cut!! NOT a fan....due to the layers. This looks great on you! EDIT!...I've done this twice on my hair due to not cutting enough the 1st time: I LOVE HOW EASY THIS IS!!! MAKES THE PERFECT CUT!!!

Ovini Bulathgama: This actually works well thank you

antonio snyder: I do the unicorn cut for my layers but I like to over direct my ponytail to the left as that's where I part my hair and that help to make it look a bit more balanced with the layering cuz I didn't like having all my layers on one side of my head

T Toch: Why pay someone else to cut your hair when you can do it yourself. It look beautiful ❤️ Going to do it too

Paola Braccio: Buen trabajo te quedó muy lindo , fácil y rápido ❤️❤️

Helena h: Thank you! Worked for me and cleaned the ends up nicely. Thanks for the get you tube!

Another Planet: Your joy is contagious! Hugs from New Mexico usa! Gonna go try n rock the beard cut rn! Thx!

Cat H.: Nice and simple. I like it. Thanks for the new method. :)

MrOrlandobob2: I am a male with long hair ,and i tried this for the first time , it turned out great

Fatema Zohra: Great tips and works perfectly

Colleen Cosgrove: You’re freaking adorable and joyful and I love this so much

ttjna: What, this is your natural curl???? I totally thought this magical wave was styled. Amazing!!

Juliet Coates: i’ve done this! very effective

Maranatha The Lord Cometh: I'm a hairdresser, that looks great girl!!!

Ally Watson: Wow, it worked! Thank you :D

etherius moon: I think if you do a side part you could tie the ponytail the same area just more to the side, in your case a little more to the right. I see everyone doing it in the middle since they part it in the middle. But I think you'd have to do the middle part ponytail first for the length and then separate the length hairs (so the perimeter) and tie on the side and cut that so you get layers. And if you'd like shorter layers Im assuming you could take less hair on that same point of the ponytail and keep cutting. I haven't tried it but I will once my hair grows out. I tried the unicorn cut on the front but it doesn't give me enough layers on the back so I'll definitely start doing it on the top of my head. Thanks for the vid!

AncillaLubrano: Your hair looks beautiful ✨

james olson: Im going to do this today.  need to take off my frizzy ends.  I always used to do the one where you pull the hair up to your forehead but I like the looks of this one better.

Irina Phoenix: If you don't want a straight line, you gotta point cut, girl - Like making a zig-zag line, essentially - you cut INTO the hair at the line you want it to be cut at - then it blends much better.

cattycorner: I going to do this right now. Yours turned out great.

Tree Lover: Thanks!!! Looks great. Going to try it as it looks easier than any I have seen. I thought this layer DIY looks good. Haven't tried yet though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItENqmr_O_c

Sonal Mate: It worked!!!! Thank you

Julie Winpisinger: Your hair looks great!

Fluffys Mum: When you tie it in your beard you are over extending the hair at the back so making the front short and the back long. It will never be level cutting it like that. That's why you get the point at the back. Try tying in pigtails at the sides and cut it then it might be level but you can't get a professional finish at home

Keri Hatgirl: You hair looks great. My method for a DIY home haircut is to tell my husband I need a trim. He gets out his shears, cape, clips, etc, sets out a glass of wine for me and I take a seat on the stool. I get caped, my hair combed out, sectioned, pinned up, then he lets my hair down in increments to trim each layer. He holds the two sides together under my chin to ensure it is even on both sides. I have him do it every other month to keep my ends neat. No drastic change in my hair length that way. No one ever notices the difference of an inch off my elbow length hair.

Khadija: This is amazing.... I am getting into this routine as well...

JoAnn Erickson: I just got finished doing this and i didn't want any layers like the Unicorn cut. Thank you so much for the video

Birdy Tayshus: You have a bright contagious personality and this video was not only informative but loads of fun! Thanks for being a beautiful girl. From Adelaide down under!

imisslucy: You r a natural my hair is similar and I'm going to try now thankyou gorgeous from Australia ‍♀️

Starlene Wright: Honestly I’ve put off going to get a trim for well over a year because I’m a mother of 3 toddlers and just never want to waste any free time I get on going and also I’ve just had horrible experiences. Well I tried the beard technique to clean up my ends and it worked perfect. Super easy and quick. I didn’t do the layer technique though so i can’t comment how that works. But if you need a little trim I would try this method. It got the job done and it really isn’t complicated . :)

K TV Vlogs: woah!! I love it and will do it on my next video ❤️

chameleon2064: lock down nearly three months, so decide to cut my own hair. amazing result, thx a lot, it saves me at least $50 every few months.

S G: Will this give you the same outcome as the unicorn ponytail technique?

Nicole Fine: Good job.....it looks great!

Miss Mary: EXCELLENT job! Thank u much!

Jellypopcorn: I want to try this too! your energy is fun haha _BEARD TECHNIQUE_

Jennifer Otto: This is how I cut my curly hair. I keep my bangs out though.

Christine Green: You're not the only one that calls this the beard technique. Channel called Britnee Alexis is a hairdresser showing ppl how to cut own hair during quarantine. Btw, you should point cut after it's out of the rubber band.

Narasimha: Thanks love, gonna give it a try right now. Greetings from Arizona!

Joan Belmont: Would this technique work on soft wavy hair?

Helen D G: I just watched a few videos on how to cut own hair then found this one best by far your funny unlike the rest are quite boring

Melissa Clauwers: Use this way of cutting a long time. It is amazing. No idea hoe it called, but I mean I saw this way a few years ago..

Rubita 7: It would be funny to see someone do an unconventional haircut like this on camera, where it comes out bad, and they post it anyway. It would be a good laugh.

Lou Pinx: I’m gonna try it too! My first timeee

Teeny Anderson: I love this video. You get so excited. Its so cute. Thank you for the good vibes ad contagious smile. Ha ha ha.

Juvie DJ: Lol,I will definitely try thisthanks
