Hey welcome back to the channel, and so here's my first time doing a sleek low ponytail and I am loving it. I only tell me to try this sooner, but y'all know horsey, hair matters and representation is real and when new products come out, I want to know. Does it really work for the girls with 4c4 z5g hair? Yes, we're coming up with a new typing system because time we need to really make sure we're capturing the true essence of the kinky textures, and so I had to demo the style factor edge booster stronghold, styling gel. This is in the blueberry scent when I heard it came out. I ran to my beauty, supply, store, sis and I purchased my hand. I didn't waste any time. This is $ 13.99 $ 14 and you get 16.9 ounces of product. Now this smells so good. It'S insanely thick and one of the first ingredients listed is pure water. So when I saw that I was nervous now, I don't want to give you guys too much of a spoiler. I want you to stay to the very end. I'M gon na be super detailed because I know the girls they're interested now honey. I'M gon na be working out tomorrow, so I'm gon na see if this really holds up. I'M already like. I don't really know like you know what I'm saying like I don't know, but we'll see and I'll you know have the results listed in the video somewhere. But sis is it for the 4c girls cuz I've seen a lot of like type 4 hair, but type 4 hair cannot be grouped together. Sis, like that's my unpopular opinion. I just have to say that, but yes, we're gon na get into this video be sure to subscribe. Okay, tell your notifications on I'm doing a lot more styling with my natural hair and I'm having fun, and I hope you guys enjoy it and if you like, this type of content, give this video a thumbs up. Okay, should I switch your home girls, your home? It'S cuz we're slam on 2019 and Kiki with me in the comments. I love interacting with you guys and let me know if there's some any products that you want me to talk about. You guys know I've been a fan of style factor for the longest time. I love their water-based pomade, so you guys to see true T in this video so without further ado, let's get into it. So of course, I'm beginning on very well moisturized and hydrated hair, and only 10 % of my hair has been blow-dried, so the hair that you see me on twisting and unraveling. This is all me. Sis like this is my thick natural texture. So, let's get into this voic -- realness! Now I'm starting out by creating a section for the back now. This is going to act as like the foundation for the ponytail, and you really want to make sure that your hair is detangled so that it makes this process a lot easier. We'Re going to be doing a lot of manipulation, more manipulation than normal. So you want to play it safe. I'M just gon na secure this section at the back and let it hang out for a bit now, I'm focusing on the front now you guys can see it's still thick super thick, but I wanted to straighten out the middle part, and this will help to create A more sleek look the longer the part is because the crown is actually the thickest part of my head and so kind of dividing. It makes it easier to tackle and it makes for a neater look, but I'm just gon na twist these sections down to the very end and tuck them away, but I also wanted to say y'all, like I look crazy young. How old do I look with no makeup and no extensions like when I watch this for this back? I was dead, but y'all see me swinging with all my thick natural realness, so make sure you guys comment below, because I want to know how old do you all think I look next, I'm going in with the desert essence a hobo oil. This is my favorite oil and hydrating. The hair is super important to create a more sleek and very polished, nourished. Look so don't neglect this step, don't skip it and also, if you wish, this is optional, take a wide tooth comb and really work to detangle. The hair once more before we get into the actual styling process. Now I broke the section at the back down into smaller parts, and this is how the product looks. The gel is gel like, but it's thinner and consistency in comparison to the water-based pomade. Now remember that I said the first ingredient was pure water. Definitely keep that in mind. I'M gon na be talking more about that. But as I applied this, I noticed it wasn't giving me the hold that I was expecting that I'm accustomed to when using their pomade and as a result because of the wear content and the consistency, my hair is definitely reverting. That is a huge struggle for the girls with 4c hair. So if you have shorter hair or if your hair is even thicker than mine, definitely work to make sure that you are keeping the hair stretched. Maybe even use a hair tie sooner so that you can secure the back in place, because this. This is a struggle like this is not easy. But I went ahead and secured the section at the back with the scrunchie and because I cannot handle like any breakage or tangles. I'M gon na go ahead and braid the length of my hair down to the very end. Sis. Yes, definitely don't skip this step now, as I moved to the section at the front, this is about breaking this down into even smaller parts, so I even started to incorporate not only the bristle brush, but also the very fine small tooth comb. This is important for just distributing the product from the roots to about Midlands. I'M definitely not going to apply the product to my ends, or I would be fighting with my hair in this. Video wouldn't even be going live. So if you're not gon na waste too much time on that right, so for this specific section I created three parts and I just wanted to make sure they were super gelled down very saturated with the product, and this is said to work on both dry and Damp hair and it's still to provide maximum hold like a hold of five. That'S what they have it listed and my hair looks super lustrous, very shiny, but I had to begin to incorporate like an intermediate step. So that's why you guys saw me, apply a small rubber band to secure that first section down, because I don't advise applying too many scrunchies to your hair or you know, taking down the scrunchie only to add more hair to it at the back, because that puts A lot of strain and tension on the hair - and the last thing I want is breakage. I don't typically do hair styles like this, so you got to be strategic and do these styles closer to your wash today, like don't freshly wash your hair and then try to attempt this like it's way too much product, and this section was so thick. I don't know what was going on, but I really want to show you guys how true 4c hair looks. Your ends aren't gon na look pretty. There really isn't much of a curl definition, especially if you don't do any like heat, styling or manipulation. The texture representation is real and just seeing how these products fare on Kweli, very tight textures is so so important. You know I broke it down into intermediate sections using a rubber band, that's saturated and how horrible oil, before applying it, so that we reduce the risk of breakage. Now I'm on the last part of the final section and we're at the home stretch this like there's so much product in my hair, like how do y'all do this like? How do the girls do this like? This is a lot of work. I def. We think this is easier for the 3a 3b 3c, even for a 4b girls, but for the 4c girls we got to get a little bit more crafty. We have to take that time if we really want to slay this look. It'S a lot of work, so I secured this last section using a full-size scrunchie, and this is how my hair looked. It was a little frizzy. I mean a lot frizzy. It'S very soft, and so I went in with the style fact of edge booster in the water-based pomade, the sweet peach scent and right off the bat. I noticed a huge difference. This offers a lot of hold and you want to make sure that you're using that small tooth comb to distribute the product. So you don't have patches of the pomade throughout your hair and that's how you get that white residue so also make sure you go in and add oil. The oil is going to help to reduce that white residue and keep the hair slicked shined, and it also helps to disperse the product through the hair. So from my hairline, I went in with the stop factor edge booster hideout in dark brown, and this is a tinted gel and it helps to use this if you have a more fine hairline and you just want to add a little bit more density and kind Of fill it in it's a really good trick, and I like to use my spoolie to do this step I'll. Have it linked in the description don't forget to check that out, but I just went into a few swoops we're not gon na go crazy. Now I was scared. I went in with the free spray by God to be. I just wanted to make sure that this last cuz, I did not do all of his work before it to just come. Undone and again, I was gon na be working out. The next day, so I went in with my sanic next strips I did too. I honestly could have done three. You want to make sure that your entire surface of the hair is covered with the sanic next rip and then do your satin wrap and let this sit for like 25-30 minutes. I let it set. While I did my makeup so for this style, I'm going to be using this drawstring ponytail, it has like a 3 B, 3 C type of texture and it's really really cute. It'S human hair. I have it linked in the description, but I applied a little bit of the stronghold styling gel and it works really well for this particular texture at defining the curls, and I didn't want to add too much because you honestly don't need it. And after I took the scarf down along with these sanic next strips sis, I loved it, I think it looks super sleek. You can see the shine and this ponytail set everything off just be careful when you're applying your ponytail. You don't want to create too much tension at the back like I keep saying it because it's so important and then I took a section of the ponytail kind of brushed it out, and I use this to conceal the very top of the drawstring and I just Bobby pins it in place - and this is what I came up with now - do I recommend the stronghold styling gel for the 4c girls for z5 Jesus out there - maybe not, but you can use it as a preliminary step before using the water based pomade. Thank you. So much for watching - and I hope I see you in the next one

Lovely_Shayron: For 4c hair a great combination for gel is a edge booster strong hold water-based mini pomade with olive oil eco styler gel. It really slicks the hair down also don't forget to use a scarf to hold the hair down.

Charlene Norah: This style is GORGEOUS TOO!! I’m gonna try it this week for work

Wonda: Thank you for making classy and grown up videos...non of that DRAMATIZATION as on alot of other videos!!!!! Love the ponytail.....great job

Jaybaby 44: Yaaas I love your hair!!! Thank you for coming through for the kinky kinky ladies!

Holly Days: You never ( ever, ever❓) fail to produce bomb results. And I bet in your pre-makeup shot, you look the exact same as you did when you were somewhere between 15-17‼️

NATALIE ‘MsCrzySxyCool’ HARRIS: *Hey sis♥You got me bouncing with the Maxwell intro. I'm digging this look on you. You can dress this style up or dress it casual. Looks so natural!!.*

Sharon Harrison: Nice changeup Pink and it looks great on you! My go to hairstyle but, the breakage is real if worn too often. I love the Ponytail because of the convenience and various ways you can style it with little effort.

HeartBr8kRach: I have thick long 4c and when I tell you that no gel or edge control lays my edges down. I’ve tried on numerous occasions and it has been a big fail. Long story short I let my edges be free because clearly they’re not meant to be “layed” and I’m fine with that. Great results thou

Ms. Michelle Agalte: Huuuunty you laid that hair DOWN. I love the pony tails, but that have to be worn the least because it causes so much breakage on our 4c and above hair. This style really looks nice on you and very detailed. Tfs

daemines: Thank you. You don't know how long I've been wondering and searching on how us 4c/5z girls can achieve a successful sleek ponytail. Tutorials I've seen fail to tell/ skip showing what each section of hair is being held down with!! U starting with a scrunchie and followed with a oil saturated rubber bannnddddd!!!!! Sssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiissss thank YOU now there's Hope in my sleek ponytails!! GIRL!!! THANK YOU

Nikeshia Dunkelly-Allen: You look amazing as usual Question: so do you not get the white residue and patches when you apply the oil right on top of the pomade? I used the pomade to do a ponytail a few weeks ago and it turned my entire head white

Danzii: Finally an actual 4c girl! Thank you! I have tried style factor edge booster before & it does the job fr fr. Your hair is neat!!!!

Q H: LISTEN!!! I bought the larger jar thinking it was the pomade and was SOOOO disappointed when I got home... good to know I don't have to throw it away!!!!! #4Zhairmatters

JacieWorld: I LOVE the fact you said the different 4 types and 4z cause I feel like I see these 4c videos I sit here confused like how are we both 4c? Representation is definitely important so thanks for sharing your hair with us 4C girls that didn't feel like they were represented

S P: Very detailed!! Loved this video! I don't do this style often. Too much work causes breakage if not careful and it doesn't last.

Jucineide da Silva: Que inspiração !!!! Brazil ,Beautiful !

kay: The key to slicking the hair down is to use a very soft brush for finishing. It smoothies every little price out.

Shawnny Collins: I will be rocking this style. Thank you for sharing!!

Ola Hairessence and Lifestyle: Wow! This hairstyle is the nice video. I used to gel my hair down without any product because I don’t want the gel to flake but it still flakes, then I tried putting leave in conditioner and all my hair treatment before applying gel and add my oil mix after applying the gel and I was really wowed at how my hair looked, Neatly sleeked without any flake. By the way you look 16

Jain D'eau: Honey, you are always on pointe! I believe you are onto something regarding 4C hair and the fact there should be an extrapolation on that texture. Yaaaaas!

Pam Shalom N.: It's turned out pretty good! Thanks for sharing. How did it hold up after working out? Thanks!

EbbN Flo: Spritzing your hair with water and oil before you manipulate or lay it down would have helped tremendously. I never dry comb my hair...that’s breakage 101.

Maria Morgan: Babylove I love your STYLES, you are teaching an old lady something and keeping me up with times.. My grandbaby loves them, she's 15. BUT I MUST SAY, GIRL THAT MAKEUP IS FABULOUS & FLAWLESS. Everytime I watch one of your videos I do not know it's you until I see you without the makeup lol. GIRL I KNOW YOU'RE BAD, THE BOMB.. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Renata Nicole Beauty: Yassss tell them about the struggle of these sleek styles for us tighter curled girls!!! Im going to give this a try. Thanks!

Nikki B: I am not sure what texture my hair is, however sad to say a pony tail ( professionally styled] really did a number on my hair. Definitely too much tension, products after a take down and fresh wash. Glad to hear your suggestions on how to safely install. You definitely look like a teenager with out hair & makeup!

Jessie Belot: thanks for the details. I was about to attempt a ponytail and now I know what to expect!

Tasha Official: This hairstyle is gorgeous

Chillax: That looks easy ' The sleek is spot on. Without makeup, you look 19

Ruth D: Does the gel leave flakes behind when it gets dry? I have this issue with most of the gels. Next day when they are fully dry, it looks like I have a dandruff or lice party going on on my head. So I would really like to know if this one also leaves residue behind or not

ChanSpeaksUK: This was so helpful, how much rubber bands would you say you used all together? x

Venus Libra: The last ponytail I tried to do made me cry. I'm traumatized ☹️ it just curlyfrizzes back up once it starts to dry. The freeze spry step might help tho
