Testing Tiktok Ponytail Hacks!

There are so many hair hacks on TikTok, especially that try to fancy up a regular ponytail. I found so many ponytail hair hacks that looked so fancy, easy, and really doable that I had to try them out for myself. My real hair is at a great hair length where I can make a ponytail look somewhat decent. Do these hair hacks really make a difference or are they a waste of time.

Thank you so much for spending time with me and watching this video! XO, Milabu

Hi, and welcome to my channel! I am a Beauty Addict and love to create how-to beauty tutorials for short hair and hairstyles, Fashion, and some dry humor parodies. I try to make my videos informative, creative and most importantly entertaining. I love interacting with my viewers. Let's get to know each other.

Love, Milabu

Today, it's all about Tik, Tok, ponytail hacks., I'm so excited, because I actually have a little bit of length on my hair.. So I think this is gon na be a great video to see if these hacks actually work and if they're convenient, if they're functional and if they really change the hairstyle.. Let'S begin with the first one., You pick it up like half way. Did that work Okay.. So it's not bad of a hack.. I think it looks really pretty.. This hack is definitely more for people that have really thick hair.. I do think this is really awesome, but because of that little twist and there's nothing holding the hair underneath besides that twist, it's going to ultimately try to untwist, and then it just goes to the one side where you brought it through, which unfortunately does not look Good and that's not the look, we're going for., But again you could do things like put some bobby pins in there get a second clear or a regular elastic to make this work.. But then it's not really a hack because you're involving a lot more things and yeah.. So ultimately, this hack definitely didn't work on my hair. We're gon na skip it. It'S not a good one., It's really pretty, but it's not a good one.. So let me quickly show you the way I would do or just the original way and then let's try out their hack.. It doesn't look bad right, But let's see if we can make this longer and fuller., So you need two hair elastics, just like so.. So what they first did was create like a half up ponytail.. Then you take this back and you create a second ponytail with the rest of the hair. [ Andrey ]. You can see the other ponytail.. Yes, you can see the other ponytail. I feel like. If you have really thick hair, this might work really well., But if you have very thin hair and not as full like myself, you can really see it.. But honestly it doesn't look that bad.. You can see the second ponytail, but I feel like that's kind of the look you're gon na go for anyways honestly., Look at the difference. That actually looks pretty dang good.. I think one way to really hide this is to take the hair and wrap it around. The hair elastic to make sure you hide the color or even use just a clear elastic., Take the hair, hide it secure it on both ponytails. That way, it's really non-existent.. I think that would look better.. Let me actually try it with the second ponytail.. I'M gon na need Andrey's assistance'cause. I can't really see where I'm pinning., How does that look Looks a little better, but you can still obviously see the other one., But I think that's kind of the look for it honestly.. I think it's a phenomenal hack. It works. Is it the most inconspicuous hack, It's not, but I think it does work.. You can also tease the hair underneath to kind of go into the ponytail and maybe curl it a little bit. More. Give it a little bit more wave, but I think just kind of teasing it adding a little bit more texture that might really work.. But I think this turned out better than I expected. I actually really like it., So this next one is again to make your ponytail look, thicker or fuller. Not longer, but just thicker, more full, more volume towards the actual base of the ponytail.. You need one clear or just one, regular, hair elastic. On your last and final twist, you're gon na split the ponytail in half and only secure the bottom half of the ponytail. All right. What do we think Not really seeing a difference., I mean I kind of am.. It looks a little more full at the very, very top. I feel like. There is a little bit more volume right here towards the top. Like it feels a little thicker a little more full.. I don't know This. One is just like .... I don't know I don't think so., Maybe if you're using like a really big thick hair elastic a big scrunchie, it will give you that extra volume underneath like that little boost.. I would definitely say this - is feeling very secure in my hair.. This might be a hack for sports. Sports. If you have very thick hair, and you can't really hold it well, because you have such so much thick hair. Like my hair, it's not going anywhere.. It is secure. This next one is for those that love a good half up ponytail.. This is to give you a more voluminous look. Let'S do it., You create a half-up, and then you split it down the middle.. You take the ponytail from underneath you bring it up through and under to create kind of like a topsy tail. Get that ponytail out of the way and then create a second little ponytail, underneath with similar amount of hair or a little bit less then. Tie it Off, don't do anything but bring it up underneath and over to basically create like this little waterfall effect with that second ponytail, to hide that first clear elastic. - And this is supposed to give you more of a fuller, looking half up ponytail. Again it's for people with Really thick hair, Otherwise it just doesn't look right. You see a lot of holes., I mean I'm glad I'm testing these out'cause. Some of them are a fail for people with not as much hair., Even like average amount of hair. It doesn't look that great., Like I don't have such thin hair, but I don't have such thick hair, where I can hide it, because I just have so much amount of hair.. It looks really good on her. Again she has a lot of hair. It'S really thick. It'S really long., It looks beautiful., But on me it looks a little unfinished.. It'S a good hack. It'S just, I think, a really good hack for people again with a lot of hair, thick hair, heavy hair. You know what I mean This next. One is all about three ponytails., How you twist them and how you bring them together., Let's do it., So you begin with three ponytails all the same height and the same amount of thickness as you would say.. You create a topsy tail with the side. Ponytails. You take the center ponytail through that first topsy tail and then you take the second ponytail and you put it through the other one., So it's kind of like you're, creating topsy tails over each other.. But basically this again it looks really good for people that already have a lot of hair, long, hair and coarse hair that will hold their amount of hair.. I guess that makes sense.. It looks really good on hers, but if you have thin hair like it just doesn't look that great.. I don't know. Again something's missing. Something doesn't flow right.. I do like that. There is three ponytails three elastics., So it's pretty secure., But what we did was we added an extra tiny, little bobby, pin right in the center to kind of make sure none of it is untwisting over each other.. So it feels a lot more secure with that bobby pin right through the center when it goes through the top through all three ponytails but ... [ Andrey ], It still looks messy.. It still looks really messy exactly.. You can definitely perfect this, but it only will really look good with people that have a lot of hair.. Let'S try the ``, No hair band, no problem'' hack.. So, basically, what you do you grab the hair and then, with the other hand, you take from one side of the of ponytail tail. You split that section.. You hold that section away from the rest of that ponytail.. You twist that section around, as if you were using a real hair band into the rest of the hair., And then you twist again, like you, would a regular hair band around the rest of the ponny tail to create this little twist with your own hair. Kind Of worked. [ Andrey ], It kinda worked, but like ... .yeah., Oh my gosh, I have so many knots in my hair.. Oh my gosh., ( laughs, ), Honestly, I'm gon na be honest with you.. You can make this work again If your hair is thick. If it has texture, if it's very long, because the girl that's showing us, she has long hair and super super thick hair.. So that way she has quite a bit of hair holding the rest of that hair.. But, like Andrey said, the problem is it's not an elastic., It doesn't stretch., You know what I mean, So you really have to struggle.. I think this is definitely like a last resort type of a hair hack.. If you have no hair band like you really need to get your hair out of the face., And this will not work if your hair is super silky and slipy like it's just not gon na work. Like this is third day hair with dry texture, spray and Dry shampoo., So it has a little bit of hold to it and texture., But otherwise it only works. If you have a lot of hair, thick, hair and long hair.. Otherwise, it's not gon na do anything. [ Andrey ] It’s not going to hold for long. There. You go., You see what I mean Like if you need to do anything Like strenuous, even like move a little bit, It’s not going to hold. Alright. So this next one, You start with two ponytails one. On top of each other., You take this top ponytail. You bring the elastic a little bit down., You split it in half and you twist it twice either left or right., But making sure to keep that hole. Open. You take the bottom ponytail through that hole towards the top, and then you secure them together or just one by one. You secure it. All right. So again, it doesn't look good because I don't have as much hair as this girl in the video. Like she has a ton of hair, and you can see that she has hair extensions.. The thing is when she's, showing the final product. She's, only showing it to the one side where it's hiding the elastic. She's, not showing it all the way. Around., It doesn't look horrible. It doesn't look great., It's just very meh. It looks very messy.. It also looks very unfinished. [ Andrey ], I'm disappointed with these. Yeah same here., Like there's only one that I really enjoyed, which was the two ponytails., The one top to bottom. But that's kind of That was the only hack that made the ponytail look longer and a little more full, but it's more it's visible.! You can see the two ponytails, you know what I mean, But yeah, I'm actually kind of disappointed.. I think it was good to really test them out on my hair without any kind of hair extensions. To really see. If I could make any of these work. and yes you can they don't look great. They're a little more messy, but you definitely have to have a lot of hair, long, hair and hair that has texture and something that will ... [ Andrey ] Weight, ... Weight, ... exactly. All right, If you were curious about any of these ponytail hacks and you have very similar hair to mine or your hair is shorter. It'S probably going to look like this. The results that I got. All right guys. Thank you for watching these Tik Tok ponytail hacks and we'll see you in the next one. Very soon., Bye. ( Blows kiss )

Lyscia: Ooohh.. Milana doing hair tutorials!! Made me remember the old times of the channel.

Nicole Bantham: I soooo miss the hair tutorials. Its literally the reason I first started following your page. Love it ❤

Candy Dodge: Thank for doing these! I have similar hair to yours (length, color, and texture) so it's nice to see someone with fine hair try these out first. I have done the two ponytail thing before and it works ok...I think I might like that one with halving the last loop of hair and possibly the low pony hack with the crossover topsy tails (even though it's a bit messy lol).

discod: Love these! I’ve been doing the second one for the past 20+ years. My hair is super thick, so the lower pony is hidden. It’s awesome for thick hair that sometimes doesn’t fit in one holder anyhow

Sneh Kriti: We miss hairstyles tutorials

Allanah Hickey: I love how real this is, I try hacks and it always turns out like this

Catharina: I wish more 'sleek' on the top ponytail tutorials would be out there. I hate the messy look on the top and my hair isn't made for that look sadly. Still wearing a ponytail to work every day because that's the only convenient thing to do, just boring..

Sarah Kıroğlu: Yaaaay back to the good old days on hair styles and hair tutorials love this ❤️

kerri uttaro: Your hair is beautiful! You def rocked them more than you gave yourself credit for lol but I love how honest you are, love your videos!

Pam P.: My fave hack is definitely the whole "repurposing the end of hospital gloves as a hair tie". Has saved me so many times at work

Katie Pare: Thanks for trying these hacks! I had no ponytail on vaca at universal in Orlando last monthand they just lifted the outdoor and indoor mask mandate, so I folded it in half and tied my hair up with the ear loops!

Cindy Groh: The no hair tie hack…I’m with you. There’s no way it would stay in my hair. If you don’t have a hair tie in say, a workout class, ask someone. You will be able to find someone that has an extra one in their purse.

Aileen Mendez: As a person with long thick hair, this makes my hair extremely tangled. I tried 2 and it was terrible. I think the trick is have someone else do it or don't do it at all

Kimberly V.: Oh love that you did a hair tutorial again! It takes me back… I missed them Hope that other will follow because I have similar hair (long, thin and very few hair due to pregnancy)

Michelle Gwilliam: You’re hair has gotten so long and it’s gorgeous! As are you! Love your spirit

Christy Hoehn: I agree- I would never get the tangles out of my hair on that 5th(?) one!! Milana- how do tv and movie people do their pony tails where they stand out from their head and have perfect curls in the thick ponytail? I can never figure that out!! Thank you for all you do! I absolutely love your perfect home, family, relationship and Emorett- if it is an illusion ( which I don’t think it is,) please don’t let us know that okay?

Bowers Mack: I did a high and low ponytail and then used a scrunchy and put them together. I love it.

Jen Harms: The purpose of these hacks is to make your hair look thicker, but they only work if you already have naturally thick hair .

Michelle Driggs: I spent a couple of hours today watching you doing reviews of curling irons, wands and straighteners. You do an amazing job...better than anyone Inhave ever seen. Thank you!

GirlCami: I appreciate your honest reviews for us real girls

Cristina xo: I think they all look pretty darn good! The second one with 2 pony tails looked the best!

Vanessa Palafox: Thank you for this vid! My hair is similar to yours I would say (mine's probably like 25% thinner) so I was excited for this video, I'm slightingly disapointed as well, but you don't know until you try! I'm sooooo glad you tried them as well. Sometime I do these hacks and think user error. I feel that his isn't the case! Thank you, its like asking friends...you 3 are the great! Btw love your accessories as well, you really kill it! You definitly give me the confience to rock the look but with my own personal touch. Love your content thank you so much :)

kimberly anderson: Thanks for doing this! I've seen so many of those hacks and wondered if they really worked

Esther Ruiz: Miss your hair tutorials you literally taught me how to braid my hair wish you would bring those back

Cindy Stepp: I think your hair looked pretty good in all the hairstyles!❣️

Angella: Does it bother anyone else that she never brushes through her middle part for the ponytail? Just me? Okay!! Lol. Live your videos, I used one tutorial for my wedding day hair!

Holly A: Thank you for doing this! I have so many of these pinned on pinterest and I can't get them to work for me, I was feeling like a total troll for not being able to get them to work lol thought I was broken

IrinaLikes: This was a great video. Glad I’m not the only one who sees these hacks and can’t make them work. Definitely would love for you to try out more of them.

Suzan Storm: Thank you! I've been saying the same thing - only look good with textured, long, thick hair and/or extensions.

ɳเҡ૮σlε ɓ૨ყαɳ: Your hair is getting so long! I love this length on you!

Maryann DellaRocco: I tried out the double ponytails and the one where you split the one pony tail after the second wrap with the elastic and only wrap the bottom portion on the last twist of the elastic. They both worked really well for me. I do have a lot of hair and it is wavy so I have a fair amount of texture. But some of the others seem to be only doable with smooth hair. I can’t keep my hair from getting tangled when I try the others.

pittiesmom10 (Gina): I have thinner hair too so thanks for trying these out

Lori: In the summer I tend to get very hot, very quickly. "No hair tie" is my favorite! It will hold my hair in a flash without having to find a pencil to twist a tight bun into my scalp. Might be temporary, but I LOVE IT!!!!

Teresa Kiner: Thank you so much! I’m watching today for third time… slow learner I guess. But, I got it! I have soft silky hair like yours, that’s why they didn’t hold, or looked silly. The only one I think I will use is the pull through pony to the side, then roll up to bun that looks like a fancy doo! Ooh oh…that’s the other hack video! Lol. I get lost, I watch all your videos. Can you tell me what you wash your hair with please? It grows about 8 inches a year, and you get trims more than I do! I took 3 off in oct. and will have to take min. 3 off ASAP/funds available. As the humidity has me looking flat headed until the bottom where the hay and straw kicks in for about 3 heck maybe 4 inches! . I’m also hanging up my blonde color. I’m old enough now, to let it go, so I’m going to stylize the ash/mink brown roots, and do caramel highlights. My grays are platinum, but standing up and curling crazy all witchy poo like so they have to wait until my 70’s. I gonna ur my heels in the sand and fight my slide over this next year plus into 60! Gawd help me!lol. Love me some Milano family… please hug Emorret from me! Your #1 KY fanTere

Brittany F: Im so glad you did this because i had tried one or two and they looked so bad I thought for sure i was doing it wrong

FabiTalksBeauty: Finally! I Always fail at these "hacks" and i thought It was Just me not being very good at doing updoes...but maybe it's Just my fine hair

katlynskorner: This was so so helpful. Thank you!

Miriah Helen: I imagine that the more evenly toned a person's hair is, the more successful some of these will be as well. When it's such a huge shade difference, it looks more noticeable as being a trick.

Carrie Lloyd: Thank you Now I don't have to waste me time and get upset cause I can't make them work. I love when you test out hacks

zobothehobo: I have thick coarse long hair and most of these look bad on me too. It's not about what kind of hair you have, it's about the movie magic and angles those people in the tiktoks had to make it not look bad

Diana Nolen: Interesting hair hacks, definitely for thick hair but they did look cute on you

Barbara Cimini: Honestly, most of them looked great on you!

S L: Full face of Scott Barnes makeup please. Including his brushes, lashes & glass blending palette.. I want to see everything the brand has to offer! ;)

Sharon Naumchik: Gotta love Andre he gets right in there to help.

Darla Rohde: I have long and medium thickness hair and have tried many of these YouTube, Instagram ponytail hacks and they never come out as neat and perfect as in the videos… what gives!?! Ugh, sigh!!! They look so good!!! FEELING YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT MILANA❣️phooey to all those videos xoxo

Canon: I have supersilky hair so the fancy tails rarely work on me, but there is one that does and it does make it fuller. Start making a single pony and wrap around once. Then separate out a little bit on the top and a little bit on the bottom and wrap the rest until secure. Then take the bottom bit and wrap it around the elastic and tuck it under the elastic on the bottom. The place a bobby pin under the pony through one strand of elastic and downward into the hair behind the elastic. Fluff the top leftover bit into the hair spreading the pony out around the elastic. Takes a few tries to get right but it does make it fuller and hides the elastic.

shawnabstevens: I love seeing clothes from a previous try on! I love that dress!

adi: I really loved your short hair.. as thats where i started loving your videos and followed you for trying so many things even when we have small hair.. which no one is doing on youtube as gracefully as you do. "Short hair have less options" you proved it wrong.. would love to see you in short hair again and trying new stuff

01poppyblue: Love watching your videos Would love to see you giving credit to the TikTok creators that you watched.

JustAnais: None of these would work with my hair either xD thank you for trying them for us!

Vanessa L: Girlfriend! Tell us all about that nail color!! It’s gorg!

Sue Conklin: If you do the first one ( 2 ponytails) and do upside-down topsy tails ( pull hair from the bottom up and over) on both of them it hides the elastics and gives more volume.

Kathleen Martin: Love this. I had been trying some of these and cant make any work now I see they just dont work well. And I have thick hair

Lucy Chester: Love these ones I try all your hair stuff. My hubby doesn’t like you because you cost me a fortune love ya Lucy uk

Western NC Girl: My hair would do these if my hair was longer. I have thick textured hair. But honestly, I thought all of these were really pretty on you.

Jillian Schultz: Your hair is beautiful!!!! Love your videos!!!!!!

Julie Narankevicius: This was very helpful. Thank you. I won’t be using my time on these.

Sandooch: Could you make a pony tail hack video for us gals who thin hair that makes it look like we have more hair? Every one of these hacks is only for thick haired girls.

Sarah Baker: Aww:( I have thin hair. Those styles still looked cute on you!

Stephanie Dwyer-Yates: I’m in the hospital right now and this video is making it much more tolerable.

jamba jackson: Scrunchies is so much better than the hair ties for a ponytail and for a bun I love it Sleek with a middle or side part perfectly behind both ears

Carmen Neumann: Finally, back to hair stuff. Thank u

Denise Jackson: The double pony tails need to be closer together. That has been around since at least the 50’s.

Linda Johnson: Thanks for showing us!

cassandradannielle93: A friend of mine has heaps of hair and does the second method all the time and you can’t see it

Leanne Bryant: None of these would work in my hair. My hair is too silky and fine. I've tried them all and none really looked any good.

Alyna Waters: Thank you for saving me time!

Katherine Klevenow: well, I have thin fine hair so I don't think any of these styles will work for me. Disappointing. But I will try the second one.

Lynda Joko: Can you please do more on ways to wear thinner hair? It's a very things for so many.

Monica Patton: That 3rd one seems like I would get my hair tangled in it trying to get the ponytail in the 2nd one

Heather Has Issues: I love your videos!

Deb Debbie: My hair is so fine I don't even have enough hair for 2 ponytails. Just my 1 ponytail is super thin and fine. And the hair at the sides of my head short and sticks up and out. It doesn't grow, if it did I would definitely have more hair. My hair is long down past shoulder blades but nobody would know it. A plated ponytail just hangs like a thin rats tail even when back brushed.

Canadian Reviews: Can you do some hair tutorials for fine thin hair?

Lyla: I liked almost all of these on her

kaoutar: Like the old days

Pixie Bell: Thick and full hair can sometimes be a pain lol

Abby Dabbs: That last one would probably look nice if you turned the final tail into a bun, and pulled a peice to hide the elastic. Like a funky up do

Susanne Elmy: Use some hair spray to rough it up to hold better

L A: I love your Apple Watch band. Can you please share where did you get it? Thank you

Clifford Little: Just love it

Tera Marie Pruitt: SEE! This is my problem... I have such thin fine hair...most hair tutorials don't work on mine...

Tammy Baldwin: I have yet to find any kind of hack, so called hack whether it's for hair, makeup, in the kitchen, etc.. none of them will work. I waste more time trying them and working at it to make it happen rather than just doing it the 'normal' way.

ic2009ba: Thank you, for ur videos.my hair is 3 times thicker, anyone recommends a yt for thicker hair??

Margo Susanna Tovar: Your top ponytail is too high up. If moved down it would work for your hair. The ponytails need to be kind of close together, at least for me.

Eva Luna Servin: Milabu your hair is so long and my hair is so short and also you look so pretty

Sheyenne Vasquez: Tease the top ponytail a little spread and pin around the bottom pony tail.

Lucy Chester: Wish I was good at hair snd make up I’m literally rubbish I look like a drag Queen when I’m finished

A A: Wish you wouldn't make assumption about these hacks and hair thickness. I have thick, coarse hair and a lot of it. And hack#2 on my hair looks just like it did on your hair - aka you can clearly see the second ponytail.

Theresa: Is there a link for the original video(s) she is referencing?

Flora Watson: It’s so annoying that all the tik tok hair hacks are supposed to make your hair look thicker and longer but they actually only look good if you already have thick long hair… sort of defeats the point

Sheryl S.: im still stuck on the messy bun up hair

Nazat Sakellaropoulou: Please stop showing us everything els other than the thing that you are perfect at doing it . . . Hairstyles!!! I miss the hairstyle tutorials that you did in this channel, because of you i learned how to make a French braid, a Dutch braid, a fishtail braid etc, and i believe many of us feel the same way So please hairstyle next time Hugs and kisses to you and your family from Greece

Makeupafter50: Do you ever wear extensions?

Kimberley Dawn: Can't say I like any of these hacks, none of them look great and if you naturally have thick hair I would think it would look like a big bush.

Lucy Chester: Hiya Milaboooo love lucy uk

Sé Lmã: I like it ☺️☺️

IncognitoMode: #hermosamentebella

Liz Atkinson: Your hair has gotten so long!!!!

Voyager avec Clara Vanessa: Love from France

CutiePie: I liked all the ones you didn't
