-I'M, most fearful of the memories of being tender-headed., The braids are really tight.. It'D just be interesting to see where I'm at with that. -Hi, I'm Angelique and today I'm getting an updo braid transformation.. But before you see my transformation subscribe below. When I was younger, my mom used to braid my hair.. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was 13., And so I think that stifled my growth in the beauty community, especially not having anyone around me to show me what my hair was capable of. For a while growing up. I stuck out as the girl with the pouf. For some reason. Once I became an adult, I stopped getting my braids, cornrows or plaits and so being able to get that again as an adult would be so dope.. I'M excited to kind of be a little bit more adventurous with my hair.. The inspiration for this look is edgy, but sexy and dope and badass at the same time.. I love taking adventures.. I love being adventurous and being able to do that with my hair. Is just me. -Hi, I'm Sabrina and I'm a hair stylist in Los Angeles.. I specialize in styling and I do set work, photo shoots and production work., I'm super excited., Your hair looks great.. What I want to do is match your hair to make sure that this is the right, color. -Okay. -So. I got a number 3 and I was looking at your video and I feel like it. Matches. [ Inhales sharply ]. Oh my God. That'S a perfect match.! -What we're going to do for you because of your face shape. I think this will be super cute., -Mm-hmm., -I'm gon na do a side. Part. -Okay, -That's gon na be more you. -Okay.. I'M here for it. -Alright. Let'S get started. -Okay. -So. First, I will spray her hair to wet her hair down and then I will blow dry her hair just to stretch it out so that it's easier to braid. And then I'll take my comb and I will part the hair into the desired part., The first product. I use is braiding gel., That's what I use throughout the majority of the hair.. I would start braiding her natural hair and then I would eventually start feeding in more hair.. I will braid it down to the back of her head, clamp it and start the next braid.. So when Angelique came in she had these beautiful bouncy curls., I love natural hair, so her natural hair was beautiful to me.. Her curls are similar to mine. So I was really excited to see how long her hair stretched. Hair means so much to me, because I never knew that. I could be doing this full-time, making money and being successful., So it means literally the world to me.. Once I get to the bottom of the hair, I will take a bungee and I would wrap that around all of the finished braids.. Once I applied the bungee, I will take a small piece of hair wrap it around to cover the bungee.. I would start braiding the hair all the way down and start feeding in hair to the desired length.. So the way I mastered this look the night before I will pull out a mannequin head and I will actually practice, even though I do it consistently working on my mannequin doll. Heads help me out and just to keep me better prepared for what's to come.. For the last step, I use a mousse to set the hair.. I use SANEK strips to mold the hair and I take it off.. It looks beautiful. It's time for the final reveal.. Are you ready to see the finished result? -Yes. -Okay. Ready, -Oh, my God, [ Laughs, ] ♪♪. I love my hair.. It'S vibey., It's badass.! It'S sexy.! I think it provides all those elements that make you feel super. Confident walking down the street. [ Speaks indistinctly ] -Oh, my gosh. Her reaction made me feel so good.. You never know how people are going to react to what you do, so it was great. -Getting, my hair done for the first time since I was younger, felt nostalgic.. It was amazing to see how my hair was transformed in just a couple of hours. -It took about three and a half to four hours. Going from someone who has like big curly hair. Like me to going to someone who has their hair slicked people tend to get kind of freaked out because they're not used to the shape of their own head.. It might be a shock to them at first, but then once they actually start wearing it, they get used to it and they realize how beautiful it actually can. Be. -I definitely learned some good after-hair-care tips., Just putting the mousse on top of my braids to make them shiny and keep them longer. I'mma try to maintain it for up to two to three weeks. -Overall working with Angelique. She just made me feel so comfortable doing her hair.. She wasn't tender-headed, so that was a flex., [, Laughs ]. She made my process easier and she's super sweet. -I, don't know who would have this hairstyle and not feel more confident. So of course.
