Let Me Show You How To Do A Ponytail Using A Wig | Sleek Ponytail Tutorial

You don't need bundles all the time baby girl use that old wig. You may have been laying around okay, hey y'all, welcome back to my channel, so for today's video i'm going to be showing you guys how i got my hair in this cute ponytail y'all. This is a ponytail, it is not a half a pack down and um. I got this ponytail by using one of my wigs girl. You can use your lace front wig. You can use your headband wig, your u-part wig. You can use any kind of wig for this. I just wanted to kind of show you guys something different other than just using bundles, because using bundles can be a lot of work and i'll be having time to be wrapping my hair around for hours. Okay. So, let's get right into today's video hi, you guys. I look freaking crazy um and i didn't do my makeup because i'm about to film another video after this i'm filming a full face up in tea, so yeah my bread. My hair is getting long, though my hair is getting long, anyways, okay, so i need to do my hair and i want a ponytail. These are the braids that i had in um when i just took my wig off, but i want a ponytail and i only have curly bundles. I don't have straight bundles, so i figured why not show you guys how i do my ponytails using my wigs, because i feel, like that's not talked about enough. I feel, like you, don't really hear people using their ponytails as their wigs um. I don't know if people don't know about it or if it's just like an untalked about thing, but i'm gon na show you guys how i do it so right now, i'm just taking my braids down and i'm just putting some oil in my hair. As i take my braids down just to make sure that my hair stays nice and moisturized, i do not want my hair to be dry, especially because i'm going to be putting product in my hair, so yeah. The only thing is, i'm irritated because i literally just washed my hair yesterday and now i'm like. Oh, i want a ponytail, so yeah i'm going to take down both of my braids and put oil in my hair, okay. So i'm just gon na take my little brush. Just has so much hair in it. I'M gon na take this little brush and i'm just gon na comb, my hair up into a ponytail. This is probably to me the most important step because i feel like if you don't comb your hair into the ponytail and just kind of like get the ponytail situated as like. Far as like, where you want your ponytail to sit. It'S going to mess up everything because imagine doing your entire ponytail and realizing dang. I wanted my ponytail high up higher up or dang. I wanted my ponytail lower. So take your time when you're doing this step, because you really want to make sure that before you start molding it down that you have the placement right, i personally prefer my ponytail to be very high up like i want it sitting on the top of my Head right, so that's what i'm doing just trying to find the perfect placement - and i think i like this placement right here and just kind of see someone just put a rubber band or a hair tie whatever you have i'm going to go in with my got To be glued, this is the water resistant one. So i'm going to use this one and i'm just going to apply this all over my hair and i'm taking a pretty generous amount honestly. So i'm taking about this much i'm going to just take that rub it into my hands and i'm going to apply it literally all over my hair. So i'm gon na start here making sure that i coat all of that and then i'm gon na move on to the sides and then the back i like using this product, because my hair, if i just use eco styler gel on my hair girl, my hair, Just gon na curl up and that's gon na be the end of that, but i like using this because i don't like to put heat on my hair like for ponytails and stuff, like that, it's not my thing. Personally, i tried to put as little heat on my hair as possible and um around the perimeter of my hair is typically the most fragile, so i don't want to put heat on it, so this is the way that i do it to do it like a Heatless method, yeah, let me tell y'all what the heck i did today right. So i went to the store to go, get all this stuff because i was out and then on my way back. I live on the eighth floor, so i'm like okay cool. I live on the eighth floor, so i get on the elevator and i put the eighth floor in right, but then somebody got on the elevator. I don't. I don't know what the heck i was thinking, but i got off the elevator and i went to the door i put the key in and i unlocked the freaking door and well i put the key in and i'm like turning it and i'm like my key Is not working like? Why is my key not working like what the heck this just happened this morning too, and i'm like? Why is my key? Not working? That'S like crazy! That'S so weird, like my key, has never not worked before, and i was looking at the neighbor's door and i was like oh they like changed up their door like that's so cute yeah. Something told me to look at the door number. I was in 707, not 807, and i thank god that nobody answered the door or like there was no um. Nobody like came to the door to me like what the hell like. Why are you unlocking my door? I just hope nobody was home because that'd be scary. You know like, if you're not expecting nobody to be coming up in your house and then somebody trying to unlock your door like i don't know that would freak me out, but when i seen that y'all i booked it, i was so scared because i really didn't Even i wasn't even paying attention, i was literally just walking and if you live in a military housing, you know that all the housing look the exact same. So it's very easy to confuse the two, especially if you're not paying attention - and i was on my phone and i had music in my ear, so i just was not paying attention y'all and i felt like an idiot. I felt crazy okay, so now that we have that i'm gon na just brush it all up, make sure there's like no tangles or anything yeah, and this is not nowhere near the final step. Okay, like we still have so much to do. My hands are already hurting. That'S the one thing about doing. Ponytails is my hands, my arms be on fire. So now i'm molding it to get that shape. That i want where i want my ponytail. I have so many ponytail tutorials on my channel. I will link them um down below that way. You guys can watch them or i'll link the playlist in the cards. I think i want it about right here. Yeah, that's perfect! My arms are on fire, so i'm gon na use this one, because this one's more stretchy - and i like to put it in my opposite dominant hand, because that way i can pull tighter with my dominant hand, so i'm gon na put it on. With my left hand, and then i'm gon na tighten it with my right hand, because my right hand is like my more dominant hand, i noticed that my ponytails come out better when i use my dominant hand to like um pull the to do this step. I feel like when you're doing a ponytail. You really just got to take your time and just play around with it, because there are so many different styles of a ponytail. So i'm just going to take my comb and i'm just like smoothing it all out, because even though i'm not pressing my hair, i still want this to be super flat and i feel like. If you take your time, you can get it to be as flat as you want it to be um so yeah, i don't know if you guys can tell, but that is pretty flat and i still haven't even hairspray or did anything like that. So now i'm gon na focus on the back and the sides a little bit and i'm just going to take my comb and just like brush all of that product up, but i'm also smoothing it with my hands. Let me show you guys, so you comb, then smooth comb. This smooth then smooth - and this is gon na - make sure that everything, like i said, is smooth, which is the goal and then we're gon na have to redo the ponytail, maybe two more times y'all. This is like a struggle: okay, but once you don't feel no more lumps or bumps or anything like that. What i'm gon na do is i'm gon na hair spray down and then i'm gon na go over my blow dryer and then i'm gon na take it down and like mold it and all that good stuff to help set it in place. Make it easier on me to put the ponytail back on so i'm just gon na take my pump it up. Hairspray love this hairspray, it's like the best hairspray in the world to me. I wish they sold spritz out here, but they don't, but they do still pump it up so or you can use got to be whatever you like, but i just prefer to pump it up and i'm going to take my blow dryer on a cool setting and Mold it okay! So now it's time to go in and re-uh lay the ponytail and remember you're pulling it tight every step of the way, literally every step, so wrapping it around pulling it tight. But you want to make sure you're not pulling it too tight, but tight enough to where your ponytail not gon na slip. And then, if this is gon na, be the last one period and then you're gon na pull this one off. And then you can, like you know, tighten it down or whatever you need to do so now, i'm gon na take my vontae edge effects, love this stuff, i'm running out. I need to order some more because i'm literally almost out, but i'm going to take this. The little i do have left and just kind of go around the edges just because this is going to help slick it down even more slick than you think it already is. I love using this stuff for like when i do braids and stuff like that. Oh, my god, it works good. Definitely probably gon na have to redo this ponytail again, because it's not working out for me. I feel, like the hard part about doing ponytails is doing the actual ponytail part. The easy part is attaching the fake hair. The hard part is actually doing the ponytail period. Okay, so now that we have that you need to just braid this part into a little ponytail and the braid doesn't have to be super duper tight or anything like that period, and i'm trying to see if i want to put this, if i just want to Leave it down or if i want to put it up like if i want to put it in a bun okay. So now you want to take your wig. I have mine here she is a little nappy, so what i did is i have in a little comb right here that i just attached to this top, because when i tried to use the comb this comb was actually down in the bottom. But when i tried to use it, the hair was just flipped upside down and it just looked funny, so i wanted to keep the hair still going in its natural direction, so i just took the comb from the bottom and put it on the top. So that way, i can just attach it right here. So just that's what i'm gon na do i'm just gon na take it. Oh, i need to get my thumbnail hold on y'all okay period, so i got my thumbnail or whatever so um like i said, i'm gon na just take this comb in the top of this wig. This was a um headband wig. So i'm going to take, i think this is from julia hair, so i'm just going to take it and i'm going to put it on just like you would put like, i guess, like a drawstring ponytail and i'm going to stick it right under the rubber band. Okay, so now so you see how now it's just flappy like this, it's just a lot going on. So what i like to do is i like to take the back piece right. I don't know if you guys can see. I'M so sorry, you guys. So i like to take this little opening back here you see, otherwise it would just be like that and you can see all of that down there, not the business. So i'm gon na take that a piece from over here just like this and wrap it. On top basically the same way, you would do if this was a regular, decorative ponytail and you want to just wrap it around and you see now there's no extras in the back. I mean there's still going to be a little bit because, obviously that's just how it is. I don't really know how to explain this y'all, i'm not really that great at explaining stuff, but so now, once you've wrapped it you're gon na have like this little hole under here, but you're not gon na be able to see the hole. I could barely even see the hole so once you've wrapped it on this side. You see you have this over here like that. So you see you have this opening over here you're going to take this hair you're going to take. I want to say about this. Much hair and you're going to keep wrapping as if you were doing like you, know the top part of your ponytail, and this don't have to be perfect because you're still going to probably go back in and add another one. And this is just going to cover that top piece and you just want to keep wrapping it, so you just keep wrapping it. Just like you do any other ponytail and then, when i get to this last little piece, i'm going to take a little small, tiny piece of hair about this. Actually, i'm going to take it from this side and i'm going to take it and i'm going to take both of them together and i'm just going to keep wrapping. This is just going to make sure that last little piece is super, secure and isn't going to just like unravel now. Obviously you can use bobby pins and stuff like that. I just personally don't want to all right. You guys so i went off camera and i did my makeup. This makeup look will be live in the next video. So you get that notification, but i just went - and all i did was just add some crimps in my hair and it just came out so good. I love it so much crimped um! I didn't want like a full on curl and i didn't want it straight. So this came out so good, i'm here for it, i didn't have to buy any extra hair or anything like that, and i love the fact that it's long because i can just wear it like this - and this looks like a half up half down - and i Am here for it um, but yeah?
