Hi everyone, my name, is abby andrew and welcome back to the rene of paris channel, i'm the alopatian ambassador, meaning that i've had alopecia since about the age of 2 years old, and i wear wigs on a daily basis. So i like to come on here and share my experience with wigs as someone who wears them pretty much daily in today's video. I'M going to be addressing one of our most frequently asked questions and that's how to put your wig into a ponytail and if it seems like a daunting thing to approach, if you're new to wigs it's actually much simpler than you would think. So i'm going to be showing you this technique on a few different wigs of different lengths and styles, so that you can try it out yourself and get comfortable trying this out at home and then eventually comfortable enough to wear out and about. And once you get used to putting your wig into a ponytail, it should be a very simple process to just do without a mirror or anything like that. I find that it's easiest to put your wig into a ponytail while it's on your head, because you know exactly how the hair is going to lay on your head once you put it on, you can put it on a wig head to style it, but i Find it much easier to especially with ponytails to style it on your head. If you're putting your wig into a ponytail, you can just use a regular hair tie. You don't need to use anything specifically made for wigs, just whatever ponytail that you have on hand. I'Ll start by showing you how to put a longer wig into a ponytail, this wig here is angelica by noriko, and this is one of the limited edition, colors red copper. This really fun gorgeous bright red orange color and, of course, this wig comes in plenty of other colors as well, both from our regular line of colors and a couple of other additional limited edition colors as well. If you're going to be putting your wig into a ponytail, one of the first steps i would recommend doing is to make sure your wig is nice and combed out. So once the hairs are detangled, it's much easier to work with the hair. To put it into a ponytail, so i just have my rene of paris wig brush here. This is my favorite brush that i always keep on my purse because it folds over. So it's very convenient, but just gently comb it out starting from the bottom. If it is particularly tangly and just brush it out until it's nice and detangled, the easiest kind of ponytail you can put your wig into is just a simple low ponytail. You probably don't even need a mirror to do this. One just pull all the hair back and you could pull it all together at the nape of your neck, like so, while you're putting your hair into a ponytail once you have it in your hands in position, i would just recommend using your hands to just make Sure you're pulling back any loose hairs and just making sure it's all neat before you do put it in the hair tie and then once you have it where you want it, just take your hair tie off your wrist and tie it in place. This particular wig has a side bang, so i left it out in this case, but if you wanted to, you could also push that hair back, especially because this wig does have a lace front. You can push it back and include that in the ponytail, but in this case i will leave it forward and once your hair is in the ponytail, what you're going to want to do is just very gently: pull some strands loose so that you make sure the Wig cap is completely covered. That is the biggest thing you're going to want to pay attention to is just making sure the wig cap is still concealed by the hair so with a low ponytail. It'S much easier because there's not much of the wig cap exposed, but you're definitely going to want to just with your hands, just feel for any part of the wig cap that might be exposed, and if there is anything you can just go ahead. Very gently pull some of that fiber loose and, of course, if you wanted to, you could also pull some strands forward. I like to leave some strands hanging forward in the front just because i like to have those face framing layers and now let me show you how to do a high ponytail. This one might take a little bit more care as you're doing it, because more of the wig cap is at risk of being exposed. But as long as you're careful, you can make sure that's nice and covered. So you can wear a higher ponytail and still have it look natural. This wig is lennox from rene of paris in the color pastel pink, and this style is one of my favorites to put into a high ponytail because it doesn't have a side bang in the front. So you can actually pull it all back into the ponytail and it looks really nice like that as well. This wig also has a really nice seamless lace front, so you can really get all that hair back there and just have it look really smooth and natural. At the front of the hairline, and just have a really nice high ponytail with this one, so first i'm just going to take the topmost layer of hair and put that into a very high ponytail just to set the mark of where i want the ponytail to End the wig cap starts to pull back or look a little nuts in the beginning, just trust the process we'll address that at the end, we're just going to loosely section that off into a ponytail just set where we want the ponytail to end up and now We'Re just going to start gathering the rest of the hair into that area, and once you have your wig into a nice ponytail like that, you're just going to want to feel around the wig cap for any parts that might be being pulled back by the hair Or any parts of the wig cap that might be exposed just feel around with your fingers. I can feel a little bit of possible wig cap showing here, so i can just go ahead and very gently very gently just loosen the hair in that area only get a little bit on this side as well, so i'll just loosen that and the part you're. Definitely going to want to check is at the nape of the neck because, as you're pulling your hair into the ponytail, it's possible that that might either get exposed or start to pull up a little bit. So just make sure it's laying flat. And you can just pull some of that hair, looser in that area and just run your hands over the hair as well, just to make sure it's all laying flat and there's no part sticking out, and once you have the ponytail on. If you want to just double check that it looks okay, you can even just go ahead and take the wig off and just take a look at it to make sure it looks smooth and yep. It still looks pretty good and you can always go back in with your brush and just gently detangle this again, because it is possible it might get a little tangled in the process. You can either leave it like that with all the strands pulled neatly back into the ponytail or, if you want to, you, can also pull some layers forward from the front just to have these face fanning layers. You either use your fingers just very gently pull some hair back out. You can purposely kind of make it a cute messy ponytail, something like this so to put a wig like sassy into a ponytail, just go ahead and start pulling all the hair back and just make sure all the hair on top is also laying flat. You can just pull it all back into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. There you go even a shorter wig, like sassy, can also go into a ponytail and again just feel around with your fingers and make sure the wig cap is still covered and anywhere. It might be exposed. Just very gently loosen the hair around that area and just to try for a higher ponytail, i'm just going to flip my head over, because this wig does have bangs. I'M going to go ahead and let those just stay in the front - and here you can see because i pulled it into a higher ponytail. This is actually a good example of something you want to watch out for you can see here. This actually pulled the nape of the neck up too high, so once you have that you're just going to want to make sure the hair is loosened, just make sure that is flat. Now i'm going to show you how to put a shorter wig like this one. Here this is astrid from the alexandria, couture collection and show you that you can also do ponytails in short styles like this, if they are long enough to pull the hair back. So, if you're going to want to put your wig into a ponytail, just make sure the adjustments on the back of the wig cap are adjusted to your head size because it'll be much easier to pull the hair back into a secure ponytail. If the wig isn't moving around and if the wig is adjusted properly, it shouldn't be shifting around on your head as you're working with it. So putting a shorter wig like astrid into a ponytail you're, going to follow the same steps as you're pulling it back into a ponytail. Just make sure all the hair is laying smooth i'm going to leave some of those face, framing layers forward and then just go ahead and secure it with your ponytail. In this case, i actually left some of the hairs on the nape of the neck back. So you can kind of have an intentionally kind of messy casual cute, ponytail, always check to make sure the wig cap is nice and covered. I can feel here there's a part. That'S a little bit exposed. All you have to do is make sure. Thank you all. So much for watching this video. I hope you found it helpful today and that you now feel confident to go ahead and try out putting your wig into a ponytail again. Just always make sure that the wig cap is nice and covered by the hair, and you can just kind of play with it feel around. And if you have a friend nearby, you can have them just to double check and make sure it looks nice and covered in the back, and i hope you guys found this video useful for that. Suzanne Dawson: So ever since I saw you model Angelica in red copper, I have wanted it. I have seen that you actually can purchase this wig in this color in a couple places, but does the limited edition colors mean the red copper is just not as vibrant?? I still love it!

jamba jackson: I love wearing my hair in a ponytail but I prefer a Sleek ponytail with a middle or side part perfectly behind both ears with a scrungy I also like when it's down I love tucking it perfectly behind both ears with a Sleek middle part will that hairstyle work with a wig llike that
