How To Tone & Dye Synthetic Hair | Wig, Hair Extensions, Ponytail Extension

Hi guys welcome back to my channel, so today i'm going to be sharing a super quick diy with you guys, so i recently purchased one of these ponytail um clip-ins, because i do have short hair. Obviously, i'm wearing extensions right now, but i do have short hair and i just wanted something quick if i just wanted to do a nice, quick snatch pony. So i ordered this ponytail. It is 24 inches long, it's from bellamy hair, but it is synthetic. So it's not real human hair and i'm super comfortable with toning. My like human hair extensions super quick super easy, so i honestly thought that it would work with synthetic hair which hence the video it did not. So i wanted to share with you guys how i did it. So if you guys do have something similar to this, maybe you bought a wig that the color is just not perfect with blonde. It can be super hard to really get that nice white, almost silver blonde, so, as you can tell from the photo um, the synthetic ponytail that i received is very yellow, even though i ordered the ash blonde one. It still was too yellow for the actual color of my hair, so i'm going to share with you guys how i toned it super quickly. So if you guys are interested in seeing this video then go ahead and keep watching all right. So here are all the items that you're going to need a pair of rubber gloves the die that i'm using is the rit dye more. This one is in the color royal purple, so i ordered mine off of amazon. I'M sure you get it at walmart and other places like that. I'M super inexpensive and then we're going to be mixing it with a rubbing alcohol. The one that i use is a 70 rubbing alcohol, but i'm sure the 99 rubbing alcohol would work just as well. So we're going to be using the entire bottle, so you want to make sure it is a new full bottle and we're going to be emptying the whole bottle into just a plastic tupperware. This is just a large plastic tupperware that i found in my house. I'Ve seen people sometimes put it in a large plastic ziploc, but i just feel like it's easier to kind of mix around when you're using a a bowl so for the ratio. I use that full bottle of alcohol to three capfuls of the rip die more dye. So that's the ratio that i use, but obviously, if you want it to be a little bit more silver use a little bit more dye and then again, if you want to have it be a little bit less toned, then use less dye. So we're just going to mix it around a little bit with our fingers here and then we're going to be just dipping the whole ponytail extension inside. So i mixed it around a lot because i wanted to make sure it was fully saturated. So i pulled it in and out of the liquid a bunch of times just to make sure it was fully penetrating all of the hair inside. So once you are satisfied that it is fully saturated you're going to let it sit in the liquid for at least 15 to 20 minutes, i thought that was the perfect amount of time to get the color that i wanted. So i just let it sit and then i went ahead and i rinsed it out. So when you're rinsing out the color, you want to make sure that you're using cold water and that you rinse it until the water is running fully clear. Because you don't want to be wearing your wig or your ponytail extension. And then it rains a little bit and then it starts leaking purple all over your white shirt, so just make sure that you're really getting in there and rinsing it completely out. So just let it dry and then here is the final product. This is our toned. Synthetic hair, so that is it for this video here is my little ponytail extension right here, as you can tell it, is the perfect shade match for my hair, if not better than my human hair extension, so i did a pretty good job, so i really hope You guys enjoyed this video.
