Tutorial || Half Wig To High Ponytail

Hey what's going on whitey, it is your girl lb and today I'm going to be showing you how to take a half wig and turn it into a high messy ponytail white girl style. And I say that because they are Queens of doing the messy bun. The messy ponytail and looking like they went to the salon so anyway, what you saw me doing there was part of my hair down the middle. Now I'm doing that, so I can actually get a part going from ear to ear. As you see here and I'm going to separate that part, I mean I'm going to separate the hair as good as I can do that part as good as I can, because it's kind of hard because you can't see you know what I mean so, but the Idea is just to get the top half of the hair separated from the back half of the hair. All right now, I'm going to secure the top half with a scrunchie. Now I have my back puff there. Oh, my hair has grown you guys it has grown. It hasn't grown as much as it should have and I'm taking a sip of my equate shake. I like those things better than the slim fast ones, but it hasn't grown as fast as it should have grown, because I really don't do anything to my hair. I'M very very low maintenance. I mean I like to wear wigs and stuff like that, but any type of manipulation to my hair. I don't really like the fool with it, but I was just getting so tired of my fro, so I said, let me try to style it. Now, I'm going to detangle my hair, I don't really have a special way to detangle hair. I just take one of those brushes on put the teeth on it and I just brush it out. I really don't like to use the comb, because I can cover more space with the brush and I don't like lose a whole bunch of hair using that brush either. So, as you can hear, my phone is ringing in the background and it absolutely annoys me when that phone rings. That'S the house phone because guess what I've only given that phone number out to like my parents and my some of my family members on my husband's side and that's it, but it rings all day every day, I'm about to disconnect it. So I have my hair. All detangle now imma go in and do a part down the middle. Now, if you want to do a different style part, that's fine, but I was just trying to do something as quick as possible and have a different look. So I said, let me just try to get this part straight down the middle as best I can and I'm winging it, because I cannot see in the back of my head, then I'm going to take one side and secure it with the ponytail. I mean with the scrunching alright now that I got that done, I'm taking my water bottle and I'm going to spray my hair just a little bit. I don't like working with my hair when it's completely dry. I like there to be a little bit of moisture on it and it kind of just it really doesn't matter. You can do it dry, but I like to put a little bit of gel on my hair as well, because my hair will freeze up and I'm going back way back. You saw that with that we called it the black gel. I don't know what you guys call it that's what we call it and that gel used to have my hair hard as a rock but yeah. So I'm just trying to do. I mean I'm just trying to lay down some of my edges in the back, even though I know that they're going to come out a little bit, but that gel is really the only type of gel that holds my hair. I got that Eco style. I got edge, control, two different cons and nothing holds my hair, except that it's black gel. So now what I'm going to do is attempt to flat twist my hair up my head, so that I can put it into a ponytail and the reason why I didn't just gel my hair down, I mean gel. My hair up into a ponytail is because my hair really to me isn't long enough to get a good ponytail because it's not even in every single spot. So if I try to do a ponytail like that, then I have some hairs popping out. So I rather just kind of flat twist it up, and that way I know that it's going to stay up now, how to flat twist your hair upside down and going in the opposite direction. That is just something that you have to practice. As you can see, I'm trying to get my finger in together and I got nails which I don't have on right now. That is a totally different story in itself, but once you get your finger in and like kind of solidify the idea, what you're trying to do in your head, you should be able to almost naturally just start flat twisting your hair up. If you know how to flat twist, if you don't know how to flat twist, definitely learn how to do it, the right way first and then go and try to do it upside down. Now this flat twist isn't going to be a perfect flat twist, but it is definitely definitely going to hold all my little hairs up so that I can put this in a ponytail and it kind of is a little bit difficult when your hair is like fro Texture and I haven't straightened it it probably. I don't think I don't know, I don't know if it would be easier if my hair was straight because when my hair is straight, it's like silky, soft but um. I didn't straighten it at all. I didn't even blow it out a little bit just to try to stretch your hair. I just went for it and I usually have to move pretty quick, because when I wet my hair, my hair curls up. So that can be an issue too. But now I'm just looking for a scrunchie, because I'm going to put that little flat twist that I did into a scrunchie so that I can secure it and move on to the next part. And there you have it two flats which they're not even one should be going in the other direction, but it is what it is. Okay, now I'm taking the scrunchie off the top part of my hair and I'm going to wet that down, because you really need to wet your hair. If you're going to be using a black gel, because I kind of like X, activates it and then it hardens. So I never really try black black gel on right here. I always like gave it a little. You know moisture so that it would hold now I'm just working that into my the perimeter of my head in the front right there and I'm going to eventually find a brush and just slick this hair and a ponytail. I hate spraying water in the front of my head because it just always seeps out so fast and it's running down my forehead and then sometimes it runs down right on the side of my chin by my ear is so annoying, but here we go. I am now slipping, slipping, slipping my hair into a ponytail okay, and I have noticed that as the years have gone by and how I don't do anything to my head, putting my hair in a ponytail um. It'S like a little bit of a task for me for one, because I'm not used to doing it and for two it seems like every time I wear a ponytail like my head starts hurting. Sometimes I get a headache. Sometimes I don't, but it's just you know, my hair is not really used to being manipulated in this way. So now you're just going to put your in a ponytail you're gon na flip it over like that. If your hair is longer, you might want to just put it into a bun or you know: how are we going to secure the loose little bun that you have there on top of your head now, people this part was so challenging, we're going to say we'll Say challenging. That is a half way that I have and it's a pretty long half wig and I didn't really like it because it had met it so fast and I didn't like the way the hair was cut. It wasn't a good, a good job and it was a cheap half wig, I think, but where it was supposed to be layered, it kind of was staggered. It wasn't layered, it was staggered, so you can see. Okay, it was cut here. It was cut here. It was cut here and I wasn't really feeling that when I wore it so alright, now I put the combs in the front of my head and now I'm twisting the back of it just to try to get some more of a have secured, and I have The hair flipped over I'm gon na secure it with a few bobby pins. I really didn't use too much bobby pins to secure it because the combs were there and there was also, I think, some combs in the back. So I was getting real creative with this very, very creative. This was all trial and error. I had never done this before, but I did see a girl on the YT who had used. I think she used the ponytail, but it was a real big, thick ponytail to do a look at similar to this. So here you see me just playing with my hair, trying to figure out how I'm going to get that hair to flip over and fall into. My face, I'm kind of shaping it right there. I know how I wanted to look like. I have the image in my brain. It'S just getting that image into real life, I'm getting a little frustrated there, all right here. We go. Let'S try it again, so I need a hump in the middle of my head, where that ponytail is because I need I needed to take up some of the hair, because that's just like a lot of hair and me twisting it around my head. It was just massive and - and I couldn't do anything with it, so I said: if I create this little hump in the middle of my head, then I could take the hair and flip the hair over it and that will take up some of the hair and You don't even have to put that on tight. You could just like you know, wrap it around once so now, I'm able to flip the hair over. But how am I going to get it to stay there? I'M talking about creativity, oh I was pulling this stuff out of the back back back of my brain, but I had like. I said: if you have an idea, there is a way to get there, so I figured it out. I was gon na take another scrunchie and make another little bun in the back of my head with that, so that it would hold most of the hair. Because if I tried to secure that with bobby pins, I would be putting bobby pins in my head from you see. The Sun is out right now until the Sun is done. I mean down all right, so that's looking a lot more better, more better. I don't think that's right, that's looking a lot better, all right now, I'm just separating some of the pieces and I'm cutting them so that I can kind of get like a face frame going and you want to make sure you kind of bobby pins everything down In place for the most part before you start cutting, because if you cut first and then try to bobby pin down you're just going to get here, it's all out of place again.
