Crochet Ponytail Extension | In Depth Tutorial

Hey guys, i wanted to film an in depth tutorial on how i create the crochet ponytail thats on my website. I hope this was in depth enough- i had just gotten off work and i was so tired but i still tried my best to film this video.

I also wanted to reiterate that each batch of hair is different as some has more curl pattern in them than others and i cannot control that (i've gotten a few concerns about that) so I also showed how you can enhance the curl pattern if thats a problem you're experiencing.

I really hope this video was insightful.

Hey guys welcome and welcome back to my channel, so I decided I was going to show you create an in-depth video of how I go from number one to number two number three to number four. So number one is my handmade crochet ponytail base and number two is how I crocheted it here on top well, here I use number three: is you know just my ponytail and then number four is how I clip and attach it to my own ponytail. So, let's jump right into this! Video first thing you need is a mannequin head. This is just a styrofoam mannequin head. You can get it from your local beauty supply store. I think it's about a dollar, and then this is my handmade crochet ponytail base. I actually hand make this, so I have make a whole bunch of them. As you can see, they come with two combs one on the top one at the bottom, the combo, the drawstring a stopper. So you can use to adjust it to your liking and the drawstring is about you know you have about 27 inches of drawstring, so you can adjust. So, however, you like it, this is also very recommended for only for people. You know we like to struggle a little ponytail. That'S when it's going to fit perfectly so you just take your t, pins or push pins whatever pins. You have use, use it to clip it or just lay it on your mannequin style for mannequin head and then this is the. I guess important part. This is the hair. I use everyone's by asking what hair I use. I literally just use the crochet, the marley hair and it's $ 4.99, a pack I use about one and a half to two packs for each ponytail. So this is the hair out of the ponytail, and you know I take it out. I take a scissors and I cut it in half, you always want to cut in half after you couldn't have you take. You know a section of the hair, you fold it up, you fold it and then you crochet onto the base so another tip for crocheting. Is you want to pass the crochet to about about 3 to 4 holes at a time? And then you loop it around and then you tie it just to secure and literally that's it. That'S it. You want to put it through. You know through the four holes at a time, because if you do it one all it want you to put the crochet and it'll do one or hold it you're going to be sitting there for a while and using unnecessary amount of hair. So you want to you, know loop it around and tie it down to secure it, and this thing is pretty secure when you do it like this, I'm just trying to show close-up and a more in-depth tutorial of how you can create it yourself. I'Ll usually recommend that you buy if you're interested you buy the crochet base and you get the creative license to use whatever. Here you would like to crochet on it, I'm just showing you right now. This is the hair I use for the one on my website that I sell and I'm gon na. I'M not gon na lie to you guys. This is pretty. I wanted to create something very affordable and having to create. Like a hundred of this, it's pretty back-breaking and I, like I said I wanted to create something affordable, so it's back-breaking and I have a full time job where I work overtime to pretty intense. So this is what one pack of hair looks like like. I said I used one and a half packs and if I'm trying to be extra I used to, I usually use just one and a half pack. So we're moving on to the second pack of hair and I'm showing a more close-up view of how I look. It through and secure it down so like I was saying um I usually I would just advise for you to just get the the ponytail base. I handmade that hand make down my sewing machine and you can literally get whatever here. It is that you behind. I & I, your local beauty supply store. You can use it to create whatever you, your ponytail of choice. You know whatever your heart desires like I said I don't mind creating this for people, but I just feel like it's back-breaking and I'm not getting my money's worth out of it. So each hair, like I say it's $ 4.99 - that's ten dollars for the two hair and then I have to sit and make you so making this actually takes about 45 minutes. I timed myself. It takes 45 minutes and it's back-breaking. That'S all I'm gon na say I don't mind it, but I have a full-time job and I'm I'm an honest person. I don't want to charge a ridiculous amount, especially knowing that this is just synthetic hair. But again I feel like most cars come from labor cost and you know I don't know, but this is what the finer hair looks like. I know my life is so bright that it's not doing the hair justice right now, but it's okay. It works out really good, so I've had a few people ask you know like like. I said I can't control the batch of hair, so I'm here comes with marker, some doesn't so how can you get or how can you enhance the curls or add more curls to it? It'S very, very simple, because it's synthetic can you just take the hair braid. It independent hot water and that's literally, all you want to do and like yeah, I'm showing you just three braids. You know I'm just showing you how you can you know enhance the curl pattern, so I just took. I just made three braids, you know, and I boiled some hot water. I put it in a glass, so you can see through you can see what I'm doing through the cup. The glass and I dependent hot water for, like maybe 20 seconds, take it out and towel dry it the good thing about synthetic hair. You don't have to wait overnight or blow dry the blow the blow dry, the hair, so the water dries no synthetic can't wash it dip in hot water, instant, curl, BAM or instant, like literally instant. So that's the good thing about it. You don't have to wait overnight. You know for the hair to dry. You know you don't have to do any of that, so at our dried it and immediately I'm taking them on raveling the braids, and you can clearly see the braid pattern. So I just did a few, so I can show you what it looks like. So I'm gon na show you. This is what the braid pattern looks like. So I'm gon na go ahead and go in details. So now that I am done with this, I am gon na go ahead and clip it on to my ponytail. So basically it comes as you guys can see. It comes with two combs one on top one on the bottom. Obviously, when you put it on, you put the top comb on the top to bottom comb underneath your ponytail and then you use the drawstring and the stopper to adjust onto you feel like it's securing that for you. So, let's turn around think about y'all thinking about you. Oh just what the final hair looks. Like final ponytail looks like, I know, putting it together sim like a lot of work, but it really isn't you get to do it only once you don't do it every day, you're one and done, and you get to keep it for dirt for as long as You want to keep the ponytail, I want to sit for the rest of your life, but as long as you want to keep it, so it's not like you have to do it every day, you're just one and done, and I also wanted to show you how You can enhance like the curl pattern, if you don't really like it first day, because every this is synthetic and every batch of hair has it's different. Some getting some up to here. You get more curl pattern, some you don't at all, so I really can't control that. That'S why I highly suggest that you get to hear yourself. You get whatever your hair, you want and you do it yourself. You make your own judgement, because I can't control what bad I get. I can't open it and go through everything. So if you want to enhance like the curl pad - and I showed you how you can bring it up depending on water, tower dry it and take it out, I also want to warn your dad. You don't want to braid everything up and dip in the hot water, because hot water will shrink the fullness of the hair, and you don't really want to do that. Also, you want you want it, you want it to look like you, didn't, really put an effort into it. You know you don't want everything all like tightly curl pattern. You want to do a few year, India to put hot water. Take it out, and you know so, like I said: don't try not to dip the entire your hair into hot water because it would shrink the fullness of it. So I'm pretty happy with this right and I just wanted to show an in-depth tutorial. I really hope that was helpful in some way and I'm sorry with that. I'M still playing the rock with backdrops, so um, I noticed the backdrop was too dark for the black hair, so I'm tried like best to like zoom in and out as much as possible, but for this final look I really had to show it. In this lighter backdrop, so I really hope you guys enjoyed this video, don't forget to comment like and subscribe. Let me know what you think: the crochet the ponytail base can be purchased on my website, they're all available I'll leave all the links down below and you can click on that purchase. Let'S not forget your crochet, oh yes, you're a human hair comes with wife done it. You don't want to.
