How To Wear Hair Extensions With A Ponytail

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, so today I'm gon na be doing a hair tutorial. That is so helpful. This is something that I've been doing a lot lately and I don't know about you guys, but whenever I see ponytails on other girls, I always feel look so cute. I'M always like why don't my ponytails ever look like that, and then I put ponytails in my hair and they look cute at first like right when you do them, but like a couple hours later, they're just flat, they're saggy, they look like you just got home From the gym and you're like, why do I even bother trying to do ponytails, but I swear this works. This looks so good and make sure ponytails look so much better, and it's just by adding hair extensions to your ponytails, and the reason I want to do this tutorial is because for a really long time I didn't know a good way to do this. I always try to do different things, but I finally found the best way to add hair extensions to your ponytail. That looks good, but also makes it easy and it makes them easy to hide as well, especially for those of you who have thin hair. I know it's harder to hide extensions sometimes so these are my hair extensions. I dye them myself to kind of match my hair. These aren't exactly the right color, because these are actually kind of red. My hair is a little bit more ashy, but these work you usually can't really tell that much that they don't match perfectly, but they work fine. So what you're going to do is you're going to get two sets of extensions. This one is a three clip and this one is a two clip. So what you're gon na do is you're gon na take your three clip hair extension and you're, going to backcomb just right here along the edge of the hair extension. So I'm just gon na take my little brush and I just do like a little tiny bit of backcombing. It doesn't have to be a lot so we're just kind of back combing right at the base of this extension, which you'll understand why in a second. So then, what you're going to do is you're going to take your two clip extension and you're going to clip it to the top of your three clip extension, and that is why you do the back combing. So it kind of stays and you don't have any issues with it falling out, and now you have like an extra thick extension with the two clip on top. So now what you're gon na do is you are just going to part your hair right here at the crown of your head and going to do a straight across parting, so right about where you want your ponytail to sit is where you want to do your Part, so I'm just gon na take my brush and I'm gon na go right along here. You don't wan na make it too high, though you definitely want it to be lower rather than higher. So if you have a hard time just make sure you get it a little bit lower versus high, you want to make sure it's long enough as well, because you are using a three clip extension. Okay. So then what you want to do is flip your hair. Over like this, and you want to give it a little back comb right there at the part. So when you clip your extension in it stays and then just clip it forward now, you're gon na take your three prongs and you're actually going to do it backwards. So, instead of clipping it in this way, you're actually going to clip it in upside down, and you want to clip them to the top hair, not the bottom hair you're, just gon na really smooth your hair over. You really want to like press hard with the brush, really get all those bumps out on the side and then flip it up, and I like volume in my ponytails. I know it's the trend right now, so you're, like really slick ponytails, that's not really my style. You could do it that way if you want, but I like volume in my ponytails and I like to have like a lot of volume in this area, because it makes my head look a little bit bigger except for really tiny head. But it's totally whatever you want to do. If you want it to be slick, you can do that as well. So you're just going to do that, make sure everything around your hairline is nice and pulled back then you're just going to add in your ponytail holder. Okay, so once you have it in like this you're just going to pull it taut, so it's really high on your head and then what I do is I take my fingers. This, like I said, is you know you don't have to do this? If you don't want to, but I pull out my hair because I like volume, so I just pull out some hair to loosen it up slightly and it just adds a lot of volume and it makes it look less perfect. I'Ve always kind of gone for like the effortless. Look it's just more my style kind of like more bohemian, so I'm just gon na pull some pieces, make it nice and loose and then once you have that you're just going to kind of brush some hair down by your face, you always want to have those Face framing pieces, if you're going through that bohemian look just looks a lot better in my opinion and pull it down just like that, then what you're going to do, of course, is you're going to hairspray any flyaways and you're going to fluff up that ponytail in The back, so that is basically it your extensions, are hidden. You can't even see them they're all the way like up here by the top of your ponytail. So all of this hair - that's down here - is covering it, but if you feel like they might kind of poke through just pull the hair, that's around the hair extensions down a little bit and it's going to kind of pucker up and around so camouflages those clips. A little bit better, if you feel like they might be kind of poking through but most likely the hair is going to cover it just fine. So that is it. That is the final look, as you can tell. The ponytail looks so much fuller, so much bigger. It just looks so much more like done, you know what I mean like this is how my ponytails always look right when I do them, but they never look like this throughout the day they just get so flat and not cute, but when I use extensions like This they stay so much more full. They look so much cuter and seriously. Ever since I've been doing this, I've been wanting to wear ponytails like every single day, because I think it's so cute and before, like I never ever wore ponytails ever like.
