Ah Hey, it's Kayla Nicole, and this is ``. I Went Viral.'' ( bell ringing ) ( keyboard, clacking, ), ( air whooshing, ) ( air whooshing ). I started making my videos when I was in Sylacauga and I was 13.. I think I was in 6th grade.. My first video was inspired by just seeing a lot of people on Vine that would just pop up with these funny videos - and I was just like I could do this so much better., And then it was like ( imitates explosion, booming ) and I was like Yeah, I'm that. ( imitates explosion, booming ), Okay, open the gel, like this. Slick it up on top or around doesn't matter just makes sure you put gel on it., Okay, bruh., Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, ( upbeat music ). I just I don't know why I did that, but I know I was really bored and then I just thought about putting my hair in a strange hairdo, and so I stood it up on top of my head cause. I used to do different styles., Like I might braid it up or do different ponytails and something just told me well what if I do this And I did it so. That's it. Now, peace, I didn't know it was viral until I got woken up out of My sleep by my mom., She came in my room.. It was like 12 at night.. It was like really really late, and so I thought I was in trouble at first.. I was like you know, what's going on And she was like look at all these likes and views you got And I was like, oh and then I looked at my messenger. I had all these messages and it was like don't forget me and da-da-da, and I'm like ( bleep, ) [ Narrator, ] Kayla. Why do you actually do that? Well, people just thought it was so funny and people was mimicking what I did. ( shutter clicking ) (, upbeat music ) And I usually just happen to do things because I'm bored. ( yelling ) ( laughing ), [, Narrator ], I'm recording myself.. So my boredom just leads to a lot of WTF., And this is a ghetto ASMR. ( nails, tapping, ), ( thudding ). When I used to make skits. I just did stuff that was relatable like everyday things and I just made it funny. Kayla. I had the baby. ( gasps ). Let me see. ( baby cooing ). Oh, how do I when people got a ugly baby and you don't know what to say.? You just look and it's just like. Oh she just like her daddy., Ah Ain't. She just adorable, And I know I have built a connection with my fans to where they feel so personal with me, and it's not like somebody through a screen.. It'S not they look at me as some big idol like you can't touch them.. It'S like when people see me in person they wan na grab on me and hug me.. They wan na ask for my number. They wan na hang out. They just do a lot of stuff that you really wouldn't do to a stranger., And sometimes it causes problems cause. I'M like you can't be. You know what I'm saying just and following me like a lot of stuff is just like ugh., But I don't wan na mean so I never just say: get away. ( air whooshing, ), ( cat meowing, ) ( paper tearing ), ( metal, clanging, ), (, upbeat Hip, music ): It is hard, the bigger you get., It's a lot more hate because I wasn't used to. I was used to people just not being in my favor, but it's like. Okay. Now I can have a massive audience, just not rocking with me. It'll bother. You more. People expect you to just be robotic.. You can't really do what normal people would do, but then they tell you, oh you just like everybody else., But when you do something like everybody else, you get judged for it and you get ridiculed. So it's just like (, sighs ). They want you to be what they want you to be.. They can't make me or break me. And that just sum it all up. ♪, Hey, hey ♪, [, Kayla ]. Now, peace,
