How To: Slick Ponytail On 3C Hair | Bellas Beauty

Okay, so, ideally, when you do this style, you want your hair to be freshly washed um, since I am doing every recording of this hairstyle. My hair is a couple of days old, but I just washed it two days ago, so it's not too too dirty, but it's just easy up your hair, it's clean in dance just so you don't have to brush your hair so much so I'm gon na start By putting the design essentials, leave-in conditioner in my hair, with some water and I'm just gon na apply that liberally to my entire head. I'M gon na redefine my part as well, just because I lost a little bit of it when I took my hair down but anyways you can doing our part. However, you want for this particular style. I wanted to do a side swept so I kind of kept it on the left side of my head and combed it over. You want to make sure that your hair is laying as flat as it can be. So a lot of this tutorial is gon na, be switching between this hard and soft bristled brush because the hardest part about putting a ponytail is in. Oh, my gosh. I can't talk. It'S leaking your hair down, so it's a lot of brushing okay. So when you finally get your hair slicked enough to the back of your head, so that you can make a ponytail, you want to keep brushing kind of right before your ponytail starts to make sure it's as flat as possible. My biggest issue with ponytails is that we have that hump, so I'm really trying to focus and make that hair as flat as I can. I'M taking three hair ties. Well, I'm sorry, that's not three! That'S two and I'm gon na wrap around four times. I want this ponytail to lay as smoothly as possible, so I think using two is the best, because when I use one, it's not tight enough. So after that, I'm just gon na go in with my soft bristle brush and kind of smooth out the edges, I'm taking some coconut curl cream from Cantu and smoothing out my ponytail, I'm also taking this soft bristle brush and brushing out my ponytail, because we're about To braid it um, you can do a braid or twist, I think, braids stay easier um. This is just my personal opinion, but you want to break that down and you're gon na pin it to like the underside of your ponytail. If that makes sense, if it doesn't you'll see in a second well, I would say one of the most important parts about this tutorial is to make sure that you get hair that matches your natural hair texture. So say if I had my hair blown out and I wanted to do like a straight ponytail, I would get some bundles that matched the way my natural hair looks when it's blown out. You know what I'm saying so, but this one my hair still early. So I got kind of some kinky hair. This hair is bohemian kinky curly hair and it's 16 inches long. I know it doesn't look that long because it's curly, but for me when I combed this hair out, it looks exactly like my real here. So people believe that it's natural another important part is that you start at the end of the braid and work your way up. If you just wrap your hair around the ponytail and keep wrapping it around like without starting at the end of the braid, it's not gon na look as natural as it would. If we do it this way and you'll see at the end of the video, the difference and how just natural it looks or whatever, when we get done, another important part of this is to make sure that you're keeping the tracks close together so that they don't Unravel a lot of people go through and they'll pin after each time they wrap it around, but we have our hair in a braid and sometimes those pins will stick you in the back of the neck, and we don't want that. So I just put one initial pin in the braid and then I kept the tracks wrapped closely together so that they don't unravel when you are done. Wrapping a bundle around your braid. You want to take a little piece from the bottom and wrap that around your ponytail base. Just so that we don't see the tracks, you can secure it by adding a bobby pin, but mine usually stays in place, but we should probably use a bobby pin because I'm reckless um, let's see after you, want to wet your hair and moisturize it. So I'm using the design essentials, leave-in detangling conditioner, as my moisturizer, this is human hair. So you want to take care of it as if you would your own hair. So don't just you know, throw it in and you know, walk out the door make sure you moisturize in common and everything please after that. I'M going to, of course, do my baby ears. I'M gon na lay those down, and then I'm gon na use a little bit of the got to be because my hair gets really really frizzy when it's humid and no other gel will hold my hair down like this got to be glue.
