Stacked Waterfall Braid Side Ponytail Hairstyle For School

Please visit our site for more hair ideas: http://princesshairstyles.com

This double braided side ponytail would be a great hairstyle for back to school. This style is fairly quick and easy to create (as long as you know how to waterfall braid) although it looks quite intricate. This hairstyle does require fairly long hair. If your hair is on the shorter side, you could try making this into an updo instead of a side ponytail.

Thanks for watching!

Today, we're going to be doing a waterfall, braid side ponytail, and I'm going to begin just by making a regular waterfall braid. I'Ve made just a part here on the side of her head and then I'm grabbing a section in the front just right. Next to that part, so to make the waterfall braid I'm going to split this section into three strands and then I'm naming these the top strand, the middle strand and the bottom strand just to keep things straight. So I'm starting with the Strand on the top and I'm going to cross it over the middle strand and then I'm going to take the Strand on the bottom and cross it over the middle strand. And then I'm going to cross this top strand over the middle. Again, but before I do that, I'm grabbing a section here from the top and I'm going to combine it with that strand. So that is now one strand there on the top I'm going to cross it over the middle, and then here is where the braid is different from a regular French braid. This bottom strand would normally go over this middle strand. Instead, I'm going to drop it and have my daughter hold it, and then I'm going to replace it with a strand here, underneath usually when you're making a waterfall braid, you would just want to grab a tiny strand here. I'M actually grabbing all the hair down to her hairline, and this is so that we can make the hairstyle we're doing work. So you want to grab it all the way down and then just cross it over that middle strand, like you, normally would and then again I'm going to grab some hair here from the top to add into that top strand, and then I'm going to cross that Over the middle strand drop the bottom strand and replace it with the piece of hair from underneath and again, I'm bringing this all the way down from the bottom of her head cross it over the middle strand, add some hair to the top strand cross that over And then drop the bottom strand, I'm just going to continue this pattern, all the way down diagonally across her head, and I am taking all of the hair from the bottom as I'm going across all the way you okay, so I've braided all the way around to The other side I'm just going to bring in this last round, I'm grabbing all of the leftover hair - that's right there by her ear and then I'm going to pick up the remaining hair underneath so that all of the hair we have left is combined into this Braid and then I'm just going to do a regular braid down, maybe just an inch so that it doesn't come unraveled and I'm going to tie that off. So now she can let this hair down okay. So now I'm going to start with this strand in the front that we left out, I'm going to split it into three sections and just begin a regular braid, and then I'm going to start bringing in these other sections that we left out just one. At a time, I'm just going to bring them on to that top strand, just braid it right in, depending on the look you're going for you can kind of hold this down a little further so that it hangs down more or you can do it tight right Up against this other braid, I'm not putting too much tension on this, I'm kind of making it loose you so now that I've added in all of the strands from the braid on the top, I'm just going to combine these two sections into one big braid. So I'm removing this elastic and then this whole braid here is going to be one section and then this one is split into two. So you've got three strands total and then I'm just going to braid this in, like I would a regular three strand braid you. You you
