High Ponytail Trick That Hides Big Ears

No more feeling self conscious about wearing a high ponytail!!

I've tried multiple methods and brainstormed to try to find multiple techniques to do this, but with only hair ties and bobby pins this is the trick I came up with that worked the best for me! Try it out and let me know how it works for you, or if you have any additional tips I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to hear it!

Thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support on these videos, I never would have thought so many people would thank me and benefit from them, it honestly means so much! :)

Hey everyone welcome to my hair tutorial featuring the curtain that I've never ironed. Just ignore that today's video is probably one of my most requested videos how to put your hair up in a ponytail, a high ponytail, while still hiding your big ears. The problem with high ponytails is your hair goes pretty much straight up, so there's no hair in front of your ear to be able to you know, pin your ear back so because of that, the only way that I have been able to figure out is by Kind of doing like a swoop motion down here before you go into a high ponytail. If that makes sense, you can't just kind of bring all of your hair up at once into the high ponytail, because your ear just pops right out. So the only thing you're gon na need is some tiny rubber bands, maybe one I just got two just in case. One breaks need a hair tie to put your hair into the high ponytail, and then I have just some bobby pins. Just in case, you know, there's some weird ponytail things happening, so I'm just going to take the very bottom section, like my sideburn sections enough hairs to be able to hold your ear back. So just leave that much out now we're just going to bring everything from the top of the ear up, we're just going to pull that out of the way for right now. Okay, so I'm going to take the hair, that's right behind my ear! You don't need that much at all. In fact, I'm going to kind of leave out the part, that's right behind my ear, because I want something to be able to cover the knot that we're doing I'm going to put it back here and I'm just going to attach these two. It'S just a little bit higher up so that hopefully it'll just hold the top of my ear, like that and I'll still be able to pull my hair up into a high ponytail and it'll. Look natural, we're hoping right! I'M going to take the tiny little black rubber band and I'm just going to secure that right behind the ear, maybe go as far back as you can just so that we can easily hide the knot later. I have the knot pulled back pretty much as far as I can so now, I'm just gon na pull it tight so that it is securing my ear down like that. So now that I have my knot behind my ear, I'm just going to unclip everything that we're tying up right now, instead of just taking all of your hair and swooping it up into you know one swoop of the ponytail, that's kind of dangerous. With this delicate situation that we have over here, so I'm going to take the top half of my hair first, you can go ahead and secure the top section of your hair wherever you want your high ponytail to be, I want it to be pretty high. Just so, I can show you guys how high of a ponytail you can do using this method. So I'm going to not really worried about how messy it is because the smoothness of it is not the focus here. We'Re basically just going for a high ponytail right, but keep that knot covered you're going to have to take the hair right below the knot and just make sure you're pulling it very gently up just enough to cover that knot. Then you can go ahead and just bobby pin it and get that just to cover that knot there. So then, very carefully, I'm just going to loosely pull the rest of my hair up into the high ponytail. I went ahead and moved that bobby-pin from up here to just kind of slightly behind my ear, holding down that not holding down everything that is holding my ear back, just to make sure that that stays nice and tight. That is what it's looking like and then just to make that strand, it's holding your ear back a little less noticeable I'll. Just take the hair right above that and loosen it. A little bit have that just kind of poof out a little bit over my ear. I do this very, very gently just with like the end of a comb, just something really small and yeah. Just loosen that up bring little pieces of my bun out. It just seems to be a little more cohesive and it also is going to help hide your ear a little bit more. So I'm going to go ahead and pull some on this side, so we can get a fair comparison, alright guys. That is how I do it. That'S how I do a high ponytail with my big ears. This is the ear that is not pinned down whatsoever, so I'm a little bit self-conscious about just showing them to the world because for some reason people like to stare at them when I do - and I don't appreciate it so I'd rather just do something like this - That is really simple that just hides the top of your ear just enough to pin it down and make it not stick out. That is basically, it nobody's even going to tell from the front too that you have anything going on right here behind your ear, so yeah, if you've always just wished that you could rock a high ponytail without a headband or anything like that, then give this little Trick a try, I'm not even like being super careful with my hair. I am flipping my hair around and it's still staying my ears not popping out and trust me they like to pop out, if you liked this tutorial, go ahead and subscribe for more like this video. If you want to see more hair tutorials, I'm kind of out of ideas as far as techniques for pinning your ears back because other than headbands - and you know just using your hair, I don't think there's really much else you can do unless there's like some specialty, You know ear pinning products out there that I haven't learned about. I don't know I think I'm done babbling now. I hope this answered you guys's, requests in questions. I think it's a pretty dang, simple and easy way to hold your ear back and wear a high ponytail. I don't think anyone's going to notice when they see me that yeah my ears pinned back they'll, just see my ponytail swoop, alright peace out guys. Thank you. So much for watching have a fabulous day. You know the drill. I will see you really soon in my next video bye,

k. m.: The main reason I hate having big ears, is that no on really knows what it’s like. I know that sound dramatic but the things some people, including me, go through just to cover their ears to prevent from teasing/bullying, is ridiculous.

Georgia: If this works i will actually cry, going to try this thank you. I find it hard because all the other girls look so pretty with my hair up and people say it looks nice on me but I just can't because i feel so self conscious, and in PE i feel weird because everyone has theirs high and I have to have mine low. So thank you, i hope I can figure out how to do this x

• iiTrixn •: This is so helpful. I always feel negative about my ear cause there big, and I always look in the mirror and try to see what I would look like when there pinned back. I feel comfortable because I know I'm not the only one with them :) But I want everyone to know that you are perfect for who you are <3

Hannah: I have like really big ears and when i ponytail my hair some people from my school tease me like hell, and that really lowered my confidence.

Camryn LeBree: You help me so much!!! I'm so insecure about my ears and you've made it so much easier to wear my hair up high especially because I'm a cheerleader! This is my first video I've seen of you but I'm definitely subscribed!!

Jess Vargas: I got into nursing school this year and it is mandatory that we wear our hair up, I was so worried about my big ears showing but I am so glad I found your videos. My favorite hairstyle is from the first video you made with the two braids and ponytail. Thank you so much!

Lauren: High ponytails are so so cute to me but i can never wear them it sucks

Madison: My ears are small & kinda pointed, and it makes me really self conscious. I kinda thought I was weird for being self conscious about my ears but it’s comforting to know there’s a lot of people out there with the same problem

Julia White: This is such a good idea! I’ve never publicly worn my hair up because my ears stick out really badly but I’m definitely trying this out :)

Ariadne: Nice video, and gives a helpful option for anyone who is getting teased or bullied for their ears in school. But I do wanna say that big ears really aren't anything to hide though. I used to be super self-conscious of mine when I was a teenager - but once out of school I realised what a total waste of time that was. Lots of people think big ears are super cute, and I've gotten lots of compliments. Big ears also look fab with lots of earrings, like a boss elf or something. Plus it feels good to let them free. Rock what you have, don't hide it. :D

k a y l a: thank you so much for this!! my ears have always been my biggest insecurity and the people at my school are brutal and i know if i just normally pulled my hair up high i would get made fun of like really bad lmao. i’m so happy i found this i can finally put my my hair up in a ponytail without being insecure :)

patience: I used to have a normal ponytail until my cousin told me i have elf ears, since then i have covered my ears. its amazing how onces words can effect you.

Corrina: Thank you so much for this! I'm supposed to go hiking over the weekend with my boyfriend and I was nervous about having to wear my hair up because it's supposed to be a pretty intense hike and I've never worn it up around him yet... I'm definitely going to be trying this!

Emily Hope: Thank you so much for these videos xx I hate my big ears and I have always been teased about them, people always say things like “you have mouse ears” and “you look like a mouse” and stuff like that to me even my friends have always said stuff about it that makes me feel so bad about myself. One of my friends even said “I have really small ears but I would rather have small ears than big af ears” and all my friends looked at me and laughed. I hate how I look in photos with them as well. My ears are the thing I hate the most about myself and by reading all the comments I have realised I am not alone and other people know the struggle. Thank you so much for being extremely brave and putting these videos out because you have made me feel better about myself and I am definitely going to try these out! I honestly cannot thank you enough xxx ❤️

siobhan colley: Omg thank you! Great trick

Wisty Vaurasi: I have stuck to doing one hairstyle for years now bc of my ears. Everytime I try some other hairstyle, it either doesn't hide my ears or I don't look good with it. And I'm tired of doing the same hairstyle and I envy girls who are able to do any hairstyle. Thanks for sharing.

Itsmehjesssicaa: I have stupid shell ears if anyone knows what that means. But I think your ears are cute :)

I recently started wearing bandanas...which i havent worn since i was in my early 20s...if u look at some of the pin up styles they take the bandana and make it like a head band with tying a bow on top..these headband bandana styles also u place over ur ears and wha la! It holds ur ears back lol i bought some outta my local dollar store and jus ordered a bunch of other in a array of colors...the look is becoming more and more popular...and its new to me using them for this reason not only tat its very stylish...i also about to order solid colored ones soon as well...i feel so great in them i can wear high pony tails and a high bone...also to note i use a few bobby pins to hold the bandanas jus to make sure they dont slide and they dont...i can wear sunglassed without having to worry about the sunglasses pushing my ears out more cause of the bandanas....its awesome..thought id share that with u...u prolly tried this already not sure but lem kno if u got my message here i kno this video of urs is old☺

no name: Just have a ear surgery. I just had one 2 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. They look sooo good

Daveonarave: Good trick but let me tell you one thing - you are too gorgeous! So don't worry about having big ears. Its just as attractive a quality to be a good listener and hey if your body symbolises that its beautiful. I have rotten and wonky teeth which isn't too attractive - my own fault for not having braces in teenage years :(

Hita Javali: I'm tired of hiding my big ears. I didn't know I had elf ears until I saw a picture of me in a tight pony basically with all my hair tied back My ears are like real huge. I'm tired of leaving my hair open all the time or wear low pony. Im always anxious about when it might just pop out. I pull some hair to the front to cover them, but people at my school think I it's some fashion? And when my ears are showing, people stare. It's bad

Rashmi Shetty: I tried doing this but after I tied it into a pony tail it came out and my ears sprung back to the way they are . Is there anything I'm doing wrong??

Lunática: This doesn’t work on me, my ears are way bigger than yours, so the hair won’t pin them back. I feel so bad, my ears are HUGE, all the people that do this kind of videos have small ears in comparision with me (Sorry if I made a mistake writting, I’m not an english person)
