A Phone Cord Hair Tie?? Invisible First Impressions Review!

This Invisibobble looks like a phone cord, but it's a hair tie? Here's my first impressions and review!

This scrunchie was designed to help people who get headaches from their hair style. The founder discovered that when she wore these she no longer got a head ache from her ponytail hairstyle. If that's true, than this product is great for people with long hair or thick hair that tends to be super heavy! So here we go, this beauty vlogger is putting it to the test.

Hey everyone kelly here welcome to my couch. This is where we can just sit and talk about the products that do and do not work. Today we are going to talk about the invisible. This is my very first impressions. I haven't even opened this little box yet so we're gon na see what they do, how they work and maybe, if they're worth the $ 8, that it costs for these three little hair tags. They'Re a hair tie, that's coiled up like an old-school phone cord. We, how many of you actually remember with bones, had ports, because that's been a long time and supposedly is easier on your head and your hair. So it's not going to cause a crease. It'S not going to give you a headache from having your hair in a ponytail and it's going to be a little less damaging because it doesn't have your hair in that vice-grip that normal hair ties do we're going to see about that. I'M gon na put my hair into a high ponytail, because I think that is the most headache-inducing of all the ponytails also most likely to slip out of a high ponytail, because I'm a little afraid that these things aren't going to stay put. Okay, so pull so. I'M feeling like a normal hair, tie really that's weird honestly. It kind of feels like there's angel fingers holding my hair together. I don't feel the weight of my hair, like I normally do, which is weird that's admit. It looks a little funny right around the hair tie, just because it's not your traditional hair tie. So it does look odd, but you know each to their own hypothetically. It is easy to wrap a piece around and tuck it. In reason, it would be easier than a normal hair tie. Is that there's so much stretch left in here because it's coiled, whereas what the normal hair tie? There'S no wiggle room because it's got your hair like so tight bobby invisible, tuck the end in and pull the hair over top of that. Alright, that's cool! Yay, no bobby pins sticking me in the head. Please! I'M just gon na go about my life and see how this goes over the next couple hours see if it gives me a headache, see if it falls apart at all or if it stays in place and we'll see I'll be back. Things have held up pretty well, I will say, comfort wise. It'S awesome, like I, don't feel any amount of heavy. I don't feel any tension in my head, something about the way that the coil is done is like distributes the weight really nicely and really easily, and I definitely appreciate that, but in general there's a lot of mobility to my ponytail that uh, I don't really want You know I still wanted to be nice and tight and high and perky, and I feel like I've kind of lost that over the last couple hours I was going to add in some hair extensions, really quick and see how it does with a little bit more Hair alright, so you can probably see my tracks a little bit, but just just go with it. Okay feel more of the weight on my hairline this time, like the tightness, I could feel it quite a bit right here. Let me see if I can just loosen this area, which is something that I always have to do, no matter what, especially when I'm wearing a high ponytail, because you never want tension on this area, you don't want to go bald across your hairline from wearing high Ponytails that's a sad day. You know, I think, overall, it's still a lot more comfortable than you would get from a normal hair tie, but still the same problem of the ponytail being very mobile, even though I just did it and because I don't fully have time to wear this. For a few hours, I'm just gon na helicopter ponytail - oh that's dizzy, yeah, definitely loosened up quite a bit, so we definitely lost tightness and lost it a little faster than we did when it was on finer hair and you have another model of the invisible. That is like the power strength, one that will probably be better both of you with really thick hair just to test my theory. Let'S try it with some normal hair ties. So with the normal hair ties, I still feel the same tension across the top of my head, but I also really feel focused weight right here, like I'm very aware that there is weight hanging from my head, which I did not have with the invisible helicopter ponytail. I don't know it might have held on just a little bit better. Everything looks a tiny bit more secure to me and I definitely know because I have more ponytails with this much hair before that you can get it to stay all day with a normal hair tie. I'M not sure the you could do that within the visit bubble. At least not the model that I own right now: okay, so my own thoughts on this guy overall, I am definitely going to wear this again, especially around the house on days where I just want to put my hair up and not think about it, because this Was so comfortable like it was so much more comfortable than a normal hair tie, and I was really surprised by that, so I would recommend it to people with long or thick hair. For that reason, it's a totally different sensation than a normal hair tie. I would just remind you that it will loosen up over time, so maybe you don't use it for like a very, very sleek, tight hair style. So I hope you guys enjoyed getting to see this product in action and hearing my thoughts about it, and that is it for this video. You haven't already be sure to click that subscribe button and I will be up on Saturday with another hair tutorial, see you then huh hi

TypischSissi: In Germany we have a lot of companies who produce this kind of ties and there are huge differences. I did a video on this :)

Lisa: I have pretty long and thick hair (it goes down to my hips) and I can't even do a high ponytail in this, it just doesn't hold it. However it's AWESOME for messy buns! Also, here in Germany they have been a trend for the longest time now (they started becoming popular probably a year ago) so I was really confused as to why she only reviewed them now :D

Shannon Franklin: I love when you do product reviews, I really trust your opinion and I've been wondering about this bobble for ages

The Gothic Two-Step: Never understood the hype about these, saw all these 'instructions' for styling with it which were essentially 'use it as a hair tie!' and they've been around for ages. Like you said, the headache comes from tightness, not the tie and this creates a looser ponytail, so of course it'll hurt less but it won't do the job for high neat ponytails all day!

LadyZusie: I tried the invisibobble first time over a year ago and since then I've never used the regular hair ties. This is just so much more comfortable! I have the clear power invisibobbles and dark invisibobble nano's for braids.

Lori Michelle: I've been using these for a while now. I love how comfortable they are. I've always preferred a looser ponytail so that doesn't bother me. I also love that it leaves no kinks when I take my hair down. The only time I get kinks is when my hair was damp before I put it up. I also experience alot less hair fallout

Sa: After about 6 months of my friends wearing them and loving them, I gave in and got them too. And I definitely noticed that I don't get as much tension / a headache from them as I did before. For hairstyles, I still have one or two normal hairties. I feel once you've used them a bit longer and they stretch out more, they can make a tighter and perkier ponytail. ALSO, what you didn't address, is losing hair because that is one of the main things I've noticed: you definitely lose less hair once you remove your invisibobble compared to a normal hairtie.

Lily Z: I remember the phone cord hair tie being a trend when I was in middle school in China and I'm graduating college now. So roughly 8 years ago. They were selling at about 8 cents each last summer.

Allie: i have the same hair tie from a different brand and I absolutely love it. I've had a lot of breakage in my hair over the years from pony tails being too tight and this gives a good hold without damaging my hair. Plus, they're super cute.

roshinr: These had been popular in Taiwan for years and I absolutely love invisible bubble. There are even the more cloth wrapped felt ones that gives more traction and more grip.

JL: I've had those since I was a little kid. Those have been around for a long time. They're just kind of fun really. They slip out quicker than normal ones, but they're not as hard on the hair- not as giving as a scrunchie, but nicer than a regular hair tie! $8 is highway robbery though. Those things are like 50 cents each. They've just rebranded something that's been around for at least a decade!

Raeley Barchers: I love these kinda of videos! They are always so helpful and make me want to try the product! Thanks for reviewing this item!

VanAnh Nguyen: T,he girl who invented this told in an interview that she was bored and saw a phone cord so she tried it around her hair... And then teamed up with a company

Lainie Royal: I LOVE using these for messy buns! In buns they stay secure all day long!

Kerchanin Allen: These hair ties are great for when you want to maintain a style but need it out of the way, too! I use them when I've done curls but am cooking or something and need it up without messing up the 'do!

PatiAlexa 188: I have been using the Invibobble for several months now. And I love it! Since I have very thick, very curly medium-long hair and because I don't really need to do very sleek hairstyles, I can easily put my hair up in a ponytail or a bun and not have to worry about it ^^

Briana Lukinchuk: I'm a relatively new user of the invisibobble hair ties (about 2 weeks or so). I have have mid-length, fine curly hair, and I agree with your assessment of it. As a mom of a six month old, I love it. It holds my layers without the need for a lot of bobby pins, and I find its application best for messy buns, both high and low. It's super easy to tuck in any strays. I moved over to these little beauties from ribbon hair ties and while I still find hairs in the tie, it's not nearly as much as before. :) Thanks for the great review, though.

Emilia Jonek: I have used it for over a year now and they are lovely! In order to get it real tight you should strech it to the extremes at the begining so that it is almost flat and after two twists you just wrap around the rest. It does work! And the original ones have their web page with some hair tutorials as well

armadily: when she said it felt like angel fingers holding her hair back, all I could imagine was castiel grudgingly holding her ponytail oh my

Jackie Shan: This has been a thing in China for years, and my cousin looves these. They're also pretty useful for messy buns

Kay Ponsford: Those bobbles are amazing for quick messy buns that you can take out later on in the day and not be left with weird kinks in your hair! I use them so often to get my hair out of the way at work :)

Gabrielle Favero: these were a HUGE trend where i live (brazil) about 4/5 years ago, but we would wear them as bracelets!

SimplyEls: I feel like I had these when I was smaller but used them as bracelets... Never knew you could tie your hair with them until they became popular in recent times. Great video!

Saija Eeva: These have been very popular in Finland for at least a year now. I don't even wear the regular hair ties that often anymore, these just work so much better for me! My hair is quite thin and these hair ties make my ponytails look a lot thicker and more voluminous. They're also perfect for messy buns so I recommend trying non-ponytail hairstyles with these as well! :)

lenabobena: They remind me of those mosquito repellent cord bracelets I have the normal, mini and strong. I always thought they were ugly even though they’re super comfy, so thanks so much for the wrapping a piece of your hair around the bobble tip!

Jenny Nguyen: This hair tie was very popular in Vietnam around 2-3 years ago. It's very cheap here, 1$ for 4 of them.

Sasa Oldbarn: Everyone has those in Germany I love them my hair just doesn't brake anymore Perfect for messy buns

Neon is the loneliest color: Great review! I thought about buying some of these and, thanks to you, I see the pros and cons.

Candace Cheah: These hair ties have been buzzing around in Asia for a few years now. From where I'm from I've been using this hair tie throughout high school (which was like... 5 years ago) and it works for the fact it doesn't leave that "band bump" in your hair. So yeah.

happydayruth: I bought these in Singapore years ago. I have extremely thick hair and these were the only things that would hold it up - not in a ponytail, but it's really great for a messy bun!

Miss Lili Delaney: ... I bought some of these "invisibobble" in a Chinese market 10 years ago, and they were AWESOME. Never stretched, never broke, never tangled my hair (which are a very frizzy-tangly kind of curly hair) but I lost them during the years. When I saw the invisibobble I bought it without even thinking. I. Frigging. Hate. It. It stretched immediately, I put it in hot water as I heard various times but never shrunk back, my hair were always tangled in a very painful way and one of them broke. And I spent 12 euros for three of these... things, when for 3 euros I got 20 of the Chinese version.

Andrea jueong Life of two Golden Doodles: These are perfect just for lazy updo. Great review! You look stunning as always!

Laavanya M: if you want to shrink it back to shape after using it, use a blow dryer on it!

Lifeinabottle: These hairties were already popular in China about ten years ago, but when I wore them in Germany I was laughed at for wearing phone cord in my hair so I didn't use them anymore :( and now they're the biggest trend here...

Stefanie: They aren't great for pony tales, but they work wonders for messy buns!

SmileSquish: I work as a health care assistant in a nursing home and I have to have my hair up all day and it's a very physical job. I love this product because it holds my hair up comfortable in a messy ponytail or bun and after my shift I can just take my hair down and it's like I just straightened it, no crease and no pain at the roots. So this is a 10/10 for me!

kamliko: I love them! I use them for about 5 years now and couldn't imagine my live without them.

siapajoyahyus: I have wavy, almost curly hair. I've been wearing telephone-cord hair ties for years! And yes it is easy on your hair and head.

Jannie Kater: I love these invisiboble's expecially the nano for the end of a braid instead of those elastic who pull your hair out x Jane

Valerie Keyser: I'm wearing one of these right now... I like using it for messy buns a lot more than ponytails. I think it holds them well, since I don't want them to be too tight anyways.

Mariana Ribeiro: I've been using them for more than a year now and they're my fave

Samantha Shaffer: I really appreciate how you tested it for thicker hair!

Sabina Hertzum: I've been using these for a couple of years - and loose them as easily as normal hair ties... I love them for 'on the go' ponys and buns... And for around the house... Usually I use two legged hair sticks to hold my bun, because I have quite fragile hair and the sticks makes it possible to wear a bun without hair ties or pins....

yours-truly-shorty: Hi kayley I have a ton of these and got a variety in diff colours and sizes. I say for a tighter hold you should get ones with tighter and smaller cords I use them a lot since I like my hair out of my face and they're easy and light on the head and barely leave a crease and also great for messy buns!

yours-truly-shorty: Hi kayley I have a ton of these and got a variety in diff colours and sizes. Lema H: They're amazing for buns!! I don't know why but they hold on way tighter when you use it for a bun

Anne Zee: I'm in ireland using these the past year. best hair tie ever. no breakage, no marks and holds my thick hair all day long without budging.

MssBilitroque: I've been using that type of hair ties for a long time, but I use it to make buns. To make ponytails, this works for short hair better +KayleyMelissa

sh0rtkake2: They work good for a messy bun. I love using it for that reason because it holds the bun but doesn't feel right on the head.

Alice Kim: For those of you that have access to Asian beauty stores, they sell these for a dollar or two (depending on size) probably not the same quality but still works well for the purpose of wearing it for comfort around the house!

Lola M.: I guess “the feel” is individual. I guarantee that my hair is much more thicker and heavier than yours and this invisibobble are the most comfortable hair ties I have ever used. My hair feels light and not pulling at all. Plus, no headache at the end of the day.

Fransiska N: This has been around in Indonesia for forever and I love them! Always stock up and have at least 1 on my wrist, bcs I feel vulnerable without it lets be real lol. Also if you put your hair in messy bun with these you can get curls too

Nadya Ingrida: You can find the phone cord hair tie thingy everywhere in my country since years ago tho, and mostly it doesnt tangle your hair

R.: it's a all time favourite here in Malaysia and I've been using this kind of ties almost 3-4 years. it's soo comfortable and I love it! ;)

Matilde Aaboe Michelsen: Your videos are really good! Absolutely love your hairtutorials ;)))

Alicia Lorena: Hey Kayley! I'm from Germany. And I also have some of the invisibobbles at home. My hair is very long and also kind of thick, so the ponytail doesn't last very long. My hair is always slipping out. But since I have them I didn't do my bun without one, because I've got the feeling that it puts the hair a lot better together than a normal tie. But I totally agree with you, when you say it's better for messy hairstyles :)

parchmentandquills: I got 50 of these for 3 bucks on ebay! These have been a thing in Asia for at least 8 years. They hold your hair really well if you wrap it tight enough and it doesn't damage your hair is much :)

Ana Reyes: I was so unsure about this, with this I really get no headaches anymore. I love it

Chels v H: Honestly I don't have long hair (letting it grow but it's just about shoulder length now) but I just enjoy your videos so much. You just seem so nice and actually are really good at explaining and teaching. Niiiice work, Kayley, have a lovely day

Jaci Walker: I love those hair ties for messy buns, especially for at the gym.

moonlight: I use invisibobbles for 2 or 3 years now and I can't live without them, I love them so much. I usually use them when I sleep or in school cause they are so comfortable

Levina Lauw: It's actually very common in my country. I think I've used them for 6 years and have lost and messed up maybe 60 of them !

dee!: As I'm watching it, I'm using that phone cord hair tie. And although it works fine, I don't think it's worth $8 for 3 pieces of it. It is sold pretty cheap here, so not sure why the heck they sold it in that price range in the US. (If converted to USD, you can get 3~5 hair ties for a dollar.) And it's been around for a long time too. Anyway. It does work pretty well for any types of hair, as far as I know. It doesn't get tangled nor it stressed your hair nor your head. Though, you can't get a very firm grip with it so your hair tie will gradually gets looser and looser. It won't last you the whole day, that's for sure. But it's pretty good though. As someone who's easily gets headache when getting my hair tied in a very tight bun/ponytail, I really love this hair tie. It's just that I will need to fix that bun/ponytail several times during the day. Hahaha.

YouAreAwesome〈3: so funy, we use them for over two years now here in Germany^^ I really like them, but there's definitely a difference in quality. I have some that don't stay at all and some that hold my hair up all day, especially in a bun! (I have long and thick hair, can't use bobby pins to pin it into a bun)

Isidora Rioseco Iturriaga: Im from Chile and I've had two of this ties for about 3 years, they dont break or streched, I wore them almost every day. Here you can get about 5 of those for a dollar, and almost anywhere.

Colette Sylvie: I got two sets of these last June at a hair show in Vegas. I still have three out of the six. One broke and I don't know what happened to the other two. They are the only thing I use!! I like to make messy buns with them and when I take them out it doesn't pull any hair out. Great conversation starter when clients see them on my wrist

Marina Yege: I love that hair tide I have been using it for about a year ago and they feel comfortable and not tight at all, so definitely as you said it's better to use it around the house.

A K I K O: So I just bought these today and everything she said is so true! Like it feels like my hair ends where the invisibobble is holding it up. It's so comfy I love it! but because my hair is so thick and heavy, it gets loose faster for me and I have to redo my ponytail a lot. Other than that, I'm really happy with it!

Katrina Day: I personally find the invisibobble is best for a messy bun type hair style, I find they keep in place a little better than a regular hair tie, and is easier to tuck away the stray bits.

Cate Murtagh: Hi Kayley. I have only been watching your videos for a few days but I just think your incredible and very inspiring (sorry that sounds so cheesy.)

Timea Satorry: Here where I live these are available for like 2 years. So they arent a hugh new trend anymore. What I love about those are that they are amazing for an overnight bun when U just wanna sleep with ur hair out of the way and what is as well a huge bonus is that u are able to make them tight again. So when U wore em a lot and they get like big u U just have to pour boiling water over and they will came litte and tight again

Cynthia: It's a lovely thing but sadly enough my hair is too long, heavy and thick to be kept in place by such a hair tie. I also don't like it when my hair loosens up that much like what happens with these hair ties.

Karideplov: I've been using them for about a year. They are great for the gym during your lunch hour or when cleaning or cooking and you just want the hair out of your face ...or to sleep during the summer (and it is super hot) but not to style your hair. I have a lot of very thick hair as it has no hold. Like old phone cords, yes it stretches out but after a few hours it retains its shape

hsu lae yadana: Phone cord hair ties are amazing. I like everything about it

: Nice idea to think about the possible headache :) I'd love to see how you placed your extensions!

Planning Kitten: I don't use them for ponytails but I think they are awesome for a bun! I have to wear my hair back for uni and with this kind of hair tie I don't need any bobby pins and it stays put all day

Peyton Wetzel: I looooove phone cord hair ties! But that price is ridiculous! You can a pack of several at places like h&m or primark for $5

Lisette dH: Like the new background and like the video! Already knew the invisibobble and I found them really nice! If they are to stretched out you can lay them in warm water and they will be small again.

lizzielou742: I like using these when I'm just laying around the house and not going anywhere. They are more comfortable but not as cute. They're also nice for when you want to quickly throw your hair up to wash your face or take a shower.

Kristina: I use this every day and all day, (i work at a hospital) it totally works for a high tight ponytail. You just need to tighten it more. And it will not leave a single mark on your hair! The negative thing is that it stretches, but just put i a cup and pour boiling water and it will shrink back.

Wendy Schnapa: Thanks Melissa for your review. I saw them at Sephora but didn't pick them up until I watch your review. Of course I am late but I'm glad I watched your review now. I really appreciated that you included your review for girls with thick hair. I am Asian and have long, thick and heavy weighted hair. Now I know I can pick them up and hope they don't get me a headache like regular hair ties do. Thanks again!

Raelyn Tan: This hair tie has been around Asia for years though.. I always use this if I just want my hair out of the way, it is not tight and it doesn't leave a dent. If I want it tighter to hold up for a day, just tie it a loop more

High0nPocky: i saw these the other day! i was super curious about these but i was too scared to try them! you're the best, kayley! ʕ • ڡ́•̀) ♡

Esther Ong: i call this tele-coil and it is my FAVOURITE! it is great for buns too!

Réka S: I know a girl who always uses these for buns, and they always seem secure and in the same place even after several hours :) You should try it that way too!

Juliana Marian Paete: The invisibobbles have been popular in my country (Philippines) for about 6 years already. It's still trendy. And yes it really feels better than normal hair ties. But I like it better when I use it for messy buns

obsessedandstuff: i have those and i used to wear them a lot a couple of years ago but now that you reminded me of it i tried it again and OMG it is so comfortable !! my hair is very thick and heavy but it took so much of the weight and its so nice !

strugglingatart: Those kind of hair ties have been fairly popular here in Brazil for a while but it was still super nice to see you try it out

Emily Garcia: I have used that for a while now and I have to say I prefer them over regular hair ties

Allison Moffett: I love these hairties! but more for quick updos and less hair styling. these will definitely save your hair on those "off" days when you go for a more simple laid back day without much fuss with your hair. I will say that i wear my hair up ALOT and normal hairties give me alot of breakage around my hair line, an since my hair is somewhat curly, they curl up around my head like a lions mane. these hair ties will help prevent that breakage if you have ultra fine hair like me.

Chris H: Thought: I have very thick hair that makes all ponytails loosen up (and get that headachey weighted feeling) and your ponytail-caption trick saved my life. Maybe try that with the bobble? I just impulse bought one at sephora the other day so I'll have to try that, putting the bottom half into one bobble and then combine all of it in another, see if that stays.

Tiffany Carter: I think this finally explains why Safiya Nygaard always has a phone cord on one wrist like an old school scrunchie.

Rachel H: Can we talk about how adorable her fashion is tho. In every video she has the cutest clothes omg <3

Lbealle: these became popular in Europe because they eliminate the dent in my hair from the ponytail. also, i can do a messy bun without any dents and my long hair stays tucked in really well.

Jasimini Rimini: I'm surprised that ONE TIME IN THE HISTORY OF BEAUTY AND HAIR we (Germany) had a product before the U.S. had it

Katarzyna Grzejda: I use them for a couple of months now since they were really popular in Europe last year and I have to say I really feel the difference in comfort (no headaches!), but I get really angry because with time they get sooo big that sometimes I have to tie them 6 times around my hair to get the ponytail nice and tight :(

gfbertoldo: Hi! Actually these tipe of hair elastics were really polpular here in Brazil about 5 yars ago. They're common here, everybody uses it as a hair elastic or just a bracelet!! And also they are so much cheaper in Brazil, like 1usd each

Sthefanie R.: this was really popular in Brazil a few years ago, teens used it as a bracelet

Vivian Pinto: These work very nice on me. If I tie my hair with other kind Of hair tie, it doesn't hold it enough, but with these ones my hair stays up for hours and hours

pamela gonzalez: LOVE the reviews! Please do more.....maybe a good dry shampoo for dark hair???? Please!!!
