Hi everybody. This is Emmy from Hector new getsu, calm and I'm here today with my friends at all free crochet, calm and I'm going to show you how to make this hair, lovely, lacy, hair scrunchie, and it's very easy to do. And you can see that you flip that on somebody's ponytail or hair, it would look like they were wearing a lovely flower on their ponytail, and it's very easy to do. It'S easy enough for beginners we're going to get started, showing you how to do that. Right. Now so what you're going to need is one of these rubber hair, elastics or crochet hook and, of course, some yarn. Okay. So, to start this out, you're going to place your crochet hook through a rubber band elastic band you're, going to pick up the yarn and you're going to bring it around through elastic and just to lock our yarn in place. We'Re going to make one slip stitch with both of the yarn strands, the yarn end and the working yarn. What to do that! We'Re just going to pick up both of them and pull it through that one stitch on the elastic band and that just locks our stitches in place there. So they don't come apart on you now to make this band we're going to make loops lots and lots of loops, and each loop is going to be chain 5 so to chain in crochet. You simply pick up the yarn and you pull it through the loop on the hook and that's a chain stitch, so we're going to make 5 chain stitches for each loop, so that was 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and now we're going to single crochet in the Rubber band, so just single crochet we're going to place our hook through the rubber band and pick up the yarn and bring it around. Now we have two loops on our hook: we're going to pick up the yarn again and we're going to pull it through both of those loops. So now we have just made a single crochet, so we're going to continue to do that and we're going to make as many loops as we can on our hook on our elastic band. So it's chain 5 single crochet around the elastic band chain; 5 single crochet. Around the elastic band chain, 5 single crochet around the elastic band, one two: three: four: five single crochet around the elastic back you're just going to keep doing that in the interest of time. I'Ve made one so that I can show you how to do the next layer, but you're just going to keep doing those until you have your elastic band all filled with loops, I'm just going to move to the other one and show you how to finish up This row and get started on the next row, so, as you can see, I've made loops all around I've made my last chain five and I'm going to slip stitch in the base of the very first loop that we made slip stitch by pulling a stitch right Through the stitch and now we're going to fasten off and fasten off means pick up the yarn and pull it through your last stitch and just give it a tug to tighten up that that last stitch. Now what you can do here on the back is tie these two yarns in a square knot then thread the yarn ends into a yarn, needle and weave them back and forth three or four times through the base stitches so that they don't come showing up again. Okay, now to do the next color you're going to start pretty much the same way. You started your first layer you're, going to insert your hook through one of the loops any loop. It doesn't matter you're, going to pick up the yellow, we're going to use, yellow this time, pick up the yellow yarn and bring it through make one stitch using both strands the same as we did on the first one, just to lock in our stitches. Now we're going to chain 5, 1, 2. 3. 4. 5. We'Re going to single crochet in the next group single crochet, 1, 2. 3. 4 single crochet in the next group, one two, three four: five single crochet in the next room. Now you can see how that's progressing along and that's exactly how we made this pink one. You can see that each one of the loops just has another row of pink and once they're all filled in together, they're, very Lacy, and it gives you a nice look. So that's exactly how you can make a beginner style, hair scrunchie, and it's brought to you today by our friends at all free crochet comm. So please drop by sometime

Tina Showers: What size hook do I need for this project?

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: Well, you can use any size yarn for this project, just add more stitches to each chain loop, so for instance, chain 10 instead of chain 5. You could still make it with chain 5, but you will barely be able to see the loops if your yarn is very thin. Do you think that will work?

Rita Plantamura: Well done. Your are a professional.

Dawn Amendola: Do you have any tutorials on how to make a bun crocheted bun holder, maybe with beads added to it, is it also called a snood , or are they two different things? I'd like to make some of those.

Candle Lynx: Oh my gosh i just buzzed all my hair off and i forgot and i was about to make this

MsVanessa995: Thanks! :D

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: Lily Sugar and Cream is a 100% worsted weight cotton yarn, (usually used to make dishcloths), but you can use any types of yarn you wish. I used acrylic yarn for this demonstration, because that's what I had on hand in colors that would show for demonstration purposes.

KittenKollection: What type of yarn did you use?

Julie Leasure: I am wanting to start a you tube channel doing tutorials and things and i was wondering if I can make a tutorial showing this pattern and link it back to you? Also the crochet stocking I love your tutorials

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: Use 2 or 3 strands of your yarn if it is thin, that should work.

MsVanessa995: My yarn is very thin. Would it still work?

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: @babylover0990 You're welcome! Glad to have given you a new idea!! Have fun!

rhonda j Smith: what  size hook do u use for this , thank u

KittenKollection: Thanks really njoyed your video.

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: I don't know what you mean by very thin... but if you just add more loops, it should be ok. It will be more delicate though.

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking: Thanks so much for posting brwniez1!!!

chellie: This is the video in our school!!

Helen Henry: I was not able to find a written pattern for this hair scrunchie on your website. is there one available? Thank you.

Apple Blossom: So cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerica Jardiolin: Me and my tutor are confused on how to do it. because my yarn is very thin and silky. can you please help?
