Hi there welcome to this third video of our tutorial series in this video. I am going to show you the process of creating the heron blender. I am breaking this into four steps, as you can see, but first i will give some basics of particle system. From my understanding, this is the number of partic self-explanatory. This seat value controls the randomness distribution of hairs. This is the hair length how long the hair? We want this is the segment which means the division, the hair curve. You can see the divisions to enable this option. As you can see, we have five vertices, which means five segments. The next one is under the render section. We have steps. This denotes how much segments we want in our final render. We have also steps in the visibility section. It shows how much segments you want to show in the viewport. For example, i am roughly grooming, the particles when i go back to object mode. You can see. We have two steps. If i increase the steps, i will see subdivision on hairs in our viewport. There are two types of children, particles, first, simple and second interpolated in simple children will create around their respective parent particles in the radius and interpolated children will create in between every parent particle. Let'S know about clamping at the value of one all the children particle will clamp. You can see on the negative value. It will clamp from the root this shape means from where we want to start the clamping. Another thing which is important is roughness. This random section will increase the spread of the wave on the particles. This size section denotes the size of that wave or roughness threshold controls. How many particles should have this roughness settings? Zero means all the particles in one means. None now we'll take a look on kink settings. I will use wave in this tutorial. Amplitude is the spread of the waves. Frequency is number of waves or size of the waveform shape denotes on which part of the hair, the kink, will start now, hair shape. This is the render settings of the hair. This is the strand shape, as you can see, tip denotes. The thickness of the tip of the hair diameter root denotes the thickness of the root of the hair, and the diameter scale denotes the thickness of the whole hair strand under the particle edit mode. We have two options, checked, preserve length and preserve root position. If you uncheck the preserved length, it will increase the length while grooming and if you uncheck the preserve root position, the root will no longer stick to the mesh while grooming. This is very useful when you want to reposition the roots of the hair. There is also a check on deflect emitter. It prevents the hair to clip through the mesh there's, also a setting called path step. This is the segment that we will use for. Grooming, first of all create a vertex group. I am creating a vertex group for the whole scalp, which i will later break into different parts. So this is the first group my second group will be for the top part. Now i am making the separation parts for the left side and the red side with the same process. We will make the other side as well. I am assigning the weight of the top and subtract the weight of scalp 0 1. So we get the other side. My verdicts group is done for the head. Add a particle system as hairs. I am adding 300 particles with length of two segments. Five under render section make step size to six. This is the segment of the hair curves on the final rendering i am using the same step, size and visibility. Section also now select the vertex group we just made. I am adding the hair particles for the right side of the head now go to the particle edit mode and delete all the extra particle make sure you enable this option. It will let you work on the vertices of the particles. Now i am adding some particles, especially on the partition area. This will make the partition line more clean, make sure you use count number one now select the roots and hit plus on the numpad and subdivide the root hairs. Now start the grooming with distance of one. You can change the distance value when you need make sure to have some good references before you start grooming. This helps a lot with the hair stylizations. You can enable b supply for more smoother curves, select the roots again and hit plus to just comb the roots easily spend more time on looking at reference and try to make similar as possible. Now i am adding the children hairs. I am using a terplaid. Add some clump value now add roughness to the hair. It will add more realism to it. I will give good amount of threshold so that it affects only few particles most important to add the kink. I am selecting wave in my scenario carefully see all my settings. I trying to adjust different settings for my hair to look good. I am at a dummy hair particle to see the kink settings. You can also select some specific particles and groom only them easily. I am adding some more roughness to the hair, select some vertices and hit control, plus l to select the whole particles. You can also hide particles if you want. I am increasing the length of these particles and subdivide it always check your result in render mode foreign. Now i am moving to the left side, adding the same values of segments number of particles and then add the additional particles. So so so i am adding the roughness kink and clumps values just same as we did before: [ Applause, ] foreign, oh [, Applause, ] to so do um um you! Now our hair is done. This is it for this part, we will do the eyebrows eyelashes and the peach fuzz in the final part. Thank you for watching my tutorial hope you like this. I will answer that as much as i can.

james delb: Thank you, thank you and thank you, for making a tutorial that explains the different operators in the hair settings. Perfectly explained and illustrated. You're brilliant and really great for sharing your knowledge.

Xi Ding: This is really well made, very helpful, thank you so much!

Edgar Allan Yee: Your tutorials are getting better & better. This is exactly what I need at this point in time. Thanks!

Patrick Chénard: That was a great tutorial, I really enjoy when you explain, with examples, what each parameters does. Keep it going!

Prue Phillip: This is one of the clearest, simplest and most logical tutorials I have watched - and over the past four or five years I have watched about one tutorial a day.

MOTOCRAB: Honestly, this is the best hair tutorial and explanation of blenders' particle system in regard to hair that I've seen.

Sophie James: Thank you! I was wondering why my parting looked so sparse. It was the combination of not having those subdivisions at the roots and not putting extra particles along the parting line. Solved my problem and took my hair from a 3 to a 10.

Grimnott: Finally! I've been trying to put some lovely hair on Suzanne for a while and figuring out hair yourself is way more difficult than it sounds!

Rei Creates: I'm only 3 mins into this but it's already so good. This is definitely going to help me master hair better. Thank you!

Arfat Ikhte Rohman: One of the best tutorials ever. Perfect demonstration. You deserve more subs!

Mahx M: Great tutorial. I really appreciate all the explanations of the various setting! Thank you very much!!!

Danilo Castagine: great tutorial, helped a lot, but a doubt, when I create a hair like you did to test the values, it distributes the children over the entire surface and it’s not like you do in 1:40 min, it has some extra configuration, I’ve researched a lot. Thank you

jeremy lamboley: Man, your tutorial is so good. Thanks for explaining all that !

Lan Peel: This video is great! Exactly what I needed, a realistic looking hair tutorial in blender. Subbed

Arian Jemima Dela Torre: Bro I watched your videos every day on tv and im still practicing how to do animations thank you for making art and animation videos this really helps me improve alot im very thankful you should have lots of subs and like bro♥️

Hamad Cervantes: This is just AWESOME. I can't believe I just discovered you. Awesome series. Looking forward for your new videos

Kaboom Animations: legitimately made my hair go from 4/10 to a 10/10 so much help!!!

Maciej Doczyk: Outstanding work dude. Very clear and I like theoretical intro. I wonder if I can easily use the technique in v2.78? I don't want to download the newest version right now as I'm working on long lasting project and don't want to risk any messing up with it

Devashish Gupta: Really well made! Added to that the background music's so soothing!

Eric Love: I really love your tutorials. I am learning a lot. If possible, can you do a hair tutorial on braids?

Jmvars: The subdividing and increasing emitter deflection is a game changer. All of my hair used to clip into the head.

Lioyd Ekwughe: I think this is the best blender hair tutorial i've seen on Youtube......it's so explainatory

Казахский Батько: Awesome tutorial! PLEASE make more about grooming in Blender!

Patriot 03: Wow, by far the best hair tutorial I've come across! Thank you!

Gene Zhao: 1:00 Strand Steps) Can determine how many "subdivision" levels to make curved hair strands smoother =============================== Children 1:40 Clumping 2:00) Roughness (spread of hair, how stretched it is etc) 2:30) Kink (Shaping Overall hair) 3:00) Hair Shape (Shaping Individual strands) =========================== Brush settings 3:20) Toggle brush to allow - lengthening of hair - if hair root can be moved - Deflect Emitter) Preventing clipping 3:50) Path Steps) A setting he said will use for grooming (not much expl) ================== creating vertex group 4:00 - make one for whole scale, later breaking into diff parts 4:33) Top part of scalp 4:45) L-R Sides of Top scalp, 5:10) Making other side by subtracting vertex groups/masks dont need the sides to be symmetrical, rm that hair partings arent perfect ================== Add particle system for hairs 5:25) to start Number) 300 / length) 2 / segment) 5 5:30 - Render) Section Steps) 6 = amount of hair curves on final render/ subdivisions for smoothness - Viewport Display) Strand Steps) same amt, 6 =================

Dawid Buchalski: Great tutorial! Do you know how to make hair cards from particle hair to get a game ready hairstyle? Using those partcile system as guide lines for cards?

NisenziART: Its great , helped me understand all the settings, but one problem i always have with these tutorials is when i use the same settings for hair length , its way too long compared to the length in the vid. I guess its not an actuall problem since i can simply shorten it but its weird that i have same settings and it looks way different.

Jazzi Crystol: T H A N K Y O U I literally cannot say how excruciating it is trying to work with hair in blender and your tutorial saved my life. and the endless balding of my poor character. NOW HE CAN HAVE GORGEOUS HAIR~

Guillermo Zulueta Sánchez: Superb video series and explanations. One of the best I’ve seen. And background music is great also!

Studio LD: Wow thanks for this tutorial! I couldn't figure out how to prevent the hair from clipping through the scalp! Also didn't know how to subdivide. Anyways, you're a legend!

J: Wow, this is so awesome! Thank you so so much!

Sze Sze Lui: I love this tutorial and how detailed it was. But the background music really made my heart race the entire time...

web snuzy: Great tutorial. I now have a clearer understanding of how to produce hair. Many thanks!

Mia Young: That is a wonderful hair tutorial of blender, thank you sooo much!

Midalax: One of the most helpful blender tutorials <3

Joe Gideon: Excellent tutorial - well done!

Friedrich Nietzsche: i learned more in two of your tutorials than in one year of practice. no joke!

Nudle: Is there a way to make the hair / particles not clip into the mesh?

PathFinder: Long time blender user here, but never put much attention to hair character workflow in Blender. Some stupid story, i spend almost two weeks learning Maya XGen and Ornatrix thinking that is the way to go for grooming realistic character, buy some course and asset to start with, play around and never quite happy with the process itself, then i come to your video..boy i was never been very wrong, underestimating blender hair system. Basically every single modifier and feature used in xgen and ornatrix, you can find in vanilla blender without addon! plus you get hair dynamic and physics, and because my muscle memory work best in blender, everything make much more sense and intuitive and quick! Thanks for the inspiration!

Duck Head: 22:15, is there a way to create a new particle setting with same preset like we did before? So we dont have to bother adjust some setting like kink, etc. This would save time

EK: Thank you so much for explaining particle system!

Pablo Javier Veloz Chandía: i was scared because this looked super hard to do but i was totally wrong thank you so much for making this blender tutorial :D

Agrebi Montassar: A really nice tutorial, covering all the Hair particle system Area ! Thanks

Vanessa Valente: Great tutorial. A request: in the final rendering my hair is transparent. Where did I go wrong?

Grigoriy Vdovin: I am so waiting for this. I've spent 2 days trying to create long neat hair but I can't decide if I should use Simple or Interpolated children since both have their drawbacks that screw the look I'm going for. Especially the parting and the place where the hair begins, it looks so bad in my project

Yzona Furgaldo: Finally someone explained the hair particle settings as detailed as possible

Junki: めっちゃ分かりやすい!!!ありがとうございます。 助かりました!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harry Singh: The tutorial is well explained but the problem is when I am trying to stimulate the hair for animation, the hair comes in front of the face and start making weird movements ... I would appreciate if you can make tutorial on hair stimulation and how to control them properly, because it is tough to design different hair style if you don't know how to control them properly .. Thank you

Claudio Marques: The most awesome tutorial about create hair in blender!! Thanks Aneesh!!

Seonggyu Kim: Hello, I have a question When I try to change hair particle setting like roughness, clamp and kink on particle edit mode, it doesn't change in the viewport instantly. I have to click screen everytime so it shows changes :/ any advice pls?

ODDY: I think this is the best hair tutorial for blender that you can find on youtube. Keep making India proud dude

Morty: when I subdivide the roots and then press ctr + and subdivide, the vertices are just floating. It does not affect the particles during combing. Any advice?

Markflakez: The Tip with not showing all segments in viewport will save my life. nvm this whole tutorial is amazing.

Yunix: You are doing a lot of works , which could be valuable if you sell on udemy

jishnu kk: this guy is amazing, i never founded this much explaining informative tutorial

_MaZ_TeR_: Question, is it possible to convert edges into splines that can be used to create particle hair?

Asd AnimatezStuff: Great tutorial really well explained but in 5:05 you create more vertex groups on the top on the head and you dont use it in the 4part tutorial either on this one so its those vertex groups really necessary??

Vegan Jack Bauer: I think the step where you place more hair in the middle of the head does not work. As soon as you use Children Interpolated, it places all the hair evenly across the vertex group. At 8:53 you set the Children to 0 to make sure there is more hair at the hairline, then you assumed it works with the Children. But if you set the Children to 1 instead of 0, you will see that it does not work anymore.

Pratham Tiwari: This guy is improving my skills easily ... thanks brother.. .

Ayra: In Blender apply gravity to the hair? or do you need to model it so it stays in place?

Razaq Mzale: This is the doughnut tutorial of hair. The single best hair particle tutorial on YouTube

Siddfeed: amazing, love watching you work blender. learned so much.

ProxUrAimz: You actually explain what different settings do (⊙o⊙)Big clap xD Most "tutorials" are 'copy the steps, understand nothing' type... Which technically teaches you nothing, you're doing things, but you still don't know _what_ you're doing or why xD Now I don't have to spend hours poking things trying to figure out what they do :')

Mole y Suavy: This tutorial changed my life

Jithesh Kuyyalil: You are absolutely amazing. Thank you.

fint: Hello. I really liked your lesson! There was a problem when using "comb" - part of the hair passes through the mesh and ends up inside the head.... Can you tell me how to fix the problem?

TheNerd: you make it look so easy and its sooo hard to do (granted the style i tried was way more difficult but still)

junaid alam: Thank you for explaining everything about hairs

Never More: Strange thing that channel with 35k followers has great content while the channel with 200k-500k followers has 2s videos, 15s video which shows nothing. Thank your for the tutorial

Megan Frai: how do you export just the hair? did you separate the vertices from the model?

Bisma Yuan Animation: You are so good. Wish your videos get more views and you have enough resources to make more videos.

E Kougar: Very Good Video. You earned yourself a Subscriber with this one!!

sonyviva308: When you're so busy perfecting your character's hair and then you look at your own hair in the mirror and think, damn my hair sucks.

Dippy Sock: So happy to find this channel! Thank u so much

ITSME hello: yeah, your vertex group was definitely changed from what you've shwon before particle adding

Murrowboy: My hair color matches my characters skin color. How do you set it to the color you want? The nodes I'm using are already used for the skin of my character.

Mark Sevastipol: First time I've actually smashed a subscribe button this was great so many tutorials but this was the real HAIR Particle tutorial.

G billy: Hey great tutorial. I understand everything except when I try to change color of the hair it affects the entire model. How do I fix this?

Delta: Too bad I can only give a like on the video to show how much a appreciate this detailed tutorial

cgiFox9: What is the background music you used? Like around 10:00 in the video? Its so good

HAFA BADI: great tuto I have a question pls How do I stop hair particles going through the head?

Agrigoroae Catalin: One of the best tutorial series I have ever seen

Quearth5i8: really helpful thx alot ^^

Goliath: Why i have no clump option, also nothing happens after I subdivide the selected roots, or maybe i would just increase the segments?

franc aleu: really nice thanks a lot !!

飛黃: its the best blender hair tutorial!!!thank you Aneesh Arts!love you~

Lindsey Hamilton: I would recommend you look for fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.

Zanimation 3D: Beautiful tutorial
