I Predicted 2019 Hair Trends + Opinions *Only Slightly Shady* - Lana Summer

My predictions for hair trends for the year 2019! These are focused on naturally curly hair because that's what EYE have, but they can also be applied to anyone! I made my own guesses based on what I've seen gaining popularity and my own preferences, and I also talked about the magazine predictions.

And, in my opinion, it's gon na look hi guys it's not a here, and today I want to talk about hair trends for 2019. So let's go so. I have some trends that I predicted myself and also I want to talk about some trends that I have seen predicted by magazines like Vogue, Elle, Harper's, Bazaar, they're based off of catwalks and that kind of thing, but my predictions are based off just what I feel In my bones, these are things that you might want to think about before you make any like drastic hair decisions and if you're gon na spend a lot of money on like hair accessories and that kind of thing, if you want to buy a new wig stuff. Like that, just a things that you might want to keep in mind before you make a big purchase, so hopefully these trends can really guide your investments, we'll just see what I think them, let's see what you think of them. What do you think? Do you think? My predictions are right: do you think they're wrong? Do you like them? Do you not like them, and what do you see coming for hair transit in 2019? So the first trend that I can see coming for 2019 is headbands, sweat bands, those elastic fabric, headbands that everybody was wearing like early 1990s. Everybody was wearing these in, like the early Northeast 2004 2005. Everyone was wearing these, especially if they had curly hair. They were seen a lot with scrunched hair when everybody wanted to have curls everybody to have curls sort of things that you wear so that it covers part of your foreheads. We'Re not gon na be pushing them back. We'Re gon na be wearing them quite low. I think we're gon na see these coming from all sorts of brands and designers, so I think Fendi are gon na have them in the Fendi print. I think we're gon na see them from Fila most of the sportswear brands, because sweat bands, you know they probably already make the sweat balance where people are probably just gon na modify those to wear them everyday. We are gon na see them from Gucci, we're already seeing them from Gucci a lot in kpop. I want to look that good. When I worry about. I, like this trend, I'm looking forward to it, I'm ready to go and buy a whole bunch of headbands. I, like it, I'm here for it. Let me know what you think of this trend in the comments section down below. Oh, my gosh, I'm terrified, but we got back tight rise flying me by that time. What happened again and I think that they think my window is like opening to some sort like people where the birds live guys. I really like that place. I don't find a hole if you keep on like lion, and I just seen one I'm worried that maybe I started a roost number two is accessories. The slighty hair clips die Monte's bows, the bigger the better. I want you to imagine Jojo see. Why not do that? I knew let's keep it bland with these accessories. Already a big fan of the slide Eclipse trend. I know some people hate it. Some people want to see it dire, but honestly, I think it is gon na get bigger and more advanced in 2019, so we're talking about diamante slides, like I have also letters, we're spilling out whole words entire Monte's and we're sliding it into our hair and in My opinion it's gon na look fun. This has been all over the catwalks lately. I love it. Cuz I've always loved bows and things in one of the catwalk images. I saw a Chanel hair clip and I want that in my life, I'm humming it mine. So bad I just love hair accessories. I love them and it's my prediction that we are going to be wearing them all over the shop. This again, some people know he said some people are gon na think it looks childish. Will you be wearing a lot of hair accessories? Do you have time to accessorize your hair? Let me know in the comment section down below, I am so excited for it. This is chanel hair clip. I need it. This is gon na put the fear of God into you hold on to your knickers girls. The next trend that I saw on the magazine pages was none other than our mortal enemy dead straight. How many years of Oscar the girls been recovering from the last time that dead-straight hair was the trend when dead, straight hair was the trend? Last time you best believe I truly got dead straight hair. My hair was straight and it was dead. I saw this picture of Jennifer Lopez. I'Ve got to admit my heart sunk a little bit. My stomach was fooling up my butt a little bit a guy named Frankie moody he's a senior hair stylist at Joe hunts foot Psalms, and he was quoted in this magazine as saying that coasts and waves are out to you, sir, not to me not to me Not to me no darling, not to me to me, curls and waves are gon na, be in forever as long as curls and waves are sprouting out. My head they're always gon na, be it, but you know I feel like I might look at the dead straight hair trend one day and be like. Oh, that's, there's something I'd like to rock at some point. I'M just gon na put a wig on. I was put a wig on, I think I'm look, I'm not going back to dead straight hair for love nor money. I killed my hair last time. The girls in my school, their advice, was that you have to kill your hair to get it to go dead straight. They were actually physically purposefully, killing their hair to get it to go dead straight. Let me know what you think: have you been tempted to go back to relaxed hair lately? What do you think so going back to curls? I think that curls are gon na stay in style. I think that some people gon na be rocking the big curls, but I do think that we're gon na see a lot of slick, gelled, curls, think about that girl from my wife and kids yeah. So my wife and kids, the daughter, I can't remember her name like the older daughter she was my first coal crush. I just loved her curls and she always were a lot of gel in her hair. She had that wet look curls going on. She was not about the volume and I think back then it really wasn't that much about volume. It was really about just having the wave Jenny your head down. Getting this wet look. I think we're gon na see a lot of that this year, because we are seeing a huge early, noughties resurgence in trends, and this was a big one. I do like that trend and I wouldn't mind it that comes back, because you can really take good care. You can really have very, very nourished, moisturized curls if you are doing that with your hair, everyday. It'S gon na look way down. It'S not going to look for you miss, but that was gon na be part of the trend. Do you like it? Do you know? Number five is a trend that I am personally so keen to try. I might even do it like tomorrow. I don't know I am obsessed with it and it's the loose baby hair. So recently, the past two years or so we have seen baby hairs, bow way. Mainstream, I remember when I used to see people with like slicked, baby, hair and I'd be like what's going on, you know like what's going on with baby hairs and obviously it's been calm so mainstream right now there are so many tutorials about how to lay down Your baby hairs, we have got gel, we have got edge tamer, you know everyone is talking about really really laying them down getting those edges laid. But what I would really like to see is maybe being a bit lighter on the baby hairs and maybe even pulling out some longer hairs as well and having some really soft, pretty looking at kohl's be left out. I'M really looking forward to that. So I'm talking about leaving curls like this out really thin pieces of hair, very sparse, very wispy that are gon na, be left out around your hair. You might find sometimes that if you brush all of your hair back you'll start getting curls at the front of your face that start curling up and they break away from the rest of your hair because they are shorter and they just start like going a bit. Wavy, so I noticed that - and I was like this - would look so cute if I actually pulled them out right now and just wore them like that they would take a little bit of styling to get it to look right, but I'm definitely gon na. Try it and it's a trend, but I am gon na be rocking. I don't know if I'll be able to call it a trend or if it's just gon na, be something that I'm doing that nobody else is doing, because it may just not look good to anybody else, but I'm definitely gon na try it. I think it follows on it naturally from the whole trend of recreating our childhood hairstyles. The next one is twists flat twists instead of braids, so we've seen a lot of cornrows cornrows sort of I feel like cornrows are always popular. They get really high in popularity. Then they sort of fade back again and they get really high. It'S usually the summertime. You see a lot of cool rows. The catwalks the magazine's they've been talking about micro, braiding, basically cornrows and they're, saying it's gon na be a big trend this year. Little do they know, that's always a trend. Honestly, I think that this year we are gon na see a lot more people picking up twisting instead of braiding. I was definitely doing this a lot towards the end of last year, because I just really liked the look of it is one of my favorite hairstyles, partly because it is so easy and I think it looks so cute and definitely carries a huge noughties wife with It so let me know what you think of that one. I know some of you guys are going to enjoy it because twisting is so much easier than braiding. I have tutorials on my channel already so I'll. Try to link that down below. I shall leave it up here so that you guys can check that out and just let me know what you think of it. Do you prefer this to cornrowing? Do you like it the same? Do you hate it? I know a lot of you will like it. Cuz, it's so much easier, so the next one is TW A's and buzz cuts. So there were a lot of buzz cuts on the catwalk this year and I just think that this is something that the natural hair community has grown pretty used to, because we've seen a lot of people doing big chops. It might be less daunting to take that plunge if it is actually sort of recognized as a trend. Some people are worried about having a TWA or some people worried about having a shaved head because of whatever reasons it may be, but if it is actually recognized as a trend like it's, the trend to have a buzz cut, really short hair cropped, hair, a TWA. Then I feel, like more people are gon na be willing to take that plunge. I really do think that it's gon na be a big trend for 2019, as well, so another big trend that the magazines were talking about, especially in Elle and bizarre. They were talking about beehives, be high bro, no, like sixties style, beehive huge bonnets on top of your head. I I don't like beehives and I've never liked beehives. That'S just me, though, I'm just one person, but for me the 60s hairstyles. I just really don't see this taking off again this year. It really might. I really hope it doesn't know, because to me it's just not a style that is flattering. It takes a long time. Some people will end up having like a nest on top of their heads when they try to do a beehive. So I'm not a fan of beehive trend. I hope it doesn't come back. It'S just what the magazine's were saying. I don't see it. I don't want to see it. The catwalk was also giving us a lot of Allis bands, so think of like the Blair Waldorf style bands. You might be really happy about this if I was like sixteen I'd be super happy about this, because I used to love a good Alice band. I had them in every single color, every single size, every single style I had tartan. I had gold, I had ones with flowers on I had ones with diamonds who's on. I love a good Alice band. I think maybe I may have grown out of Alice bands right now, but I wouldn't mind seeing them come back. I think they're super cute. If we can see like some variations of it, where it's maybe like a headband with like flowers on stuff, like that, I don't know if this is gon na take off this year. You know, I really don't know if this is gon na take off this year. It'S not something that I predicted it but deal Prada. There have been lots of designers showing this on the catwalk, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it takes off and the next one is colors bright, colors, ombre, perks, tips. I don't know if I can really call this a trend for 2019, because I feel, like people are always experimenting with colors. They are saying that red is gon na, be a big trend this year, but I think anybody could always predict that red is gon na. Be popular because red is always a popular hair, color choice. There is like a terminology for a certain color and it's called pressed rose, which apparently is going to be huge this year, I'm looking forward to it, I'm even going to get a wig myself, hopefully in the pressed rose like dusty, pink kind of shade. I think it would sue a lot of people unless you have sort of pink undertones to your skin and then you maybe just pick a slightly different shade variation, so that is it for this video. I really hope you guys enjoyed it. Please do tell me what you think of these predictions in the comment section and down below. Tell me what ones you like what ones you would like to see me create tutorials on if possible, cuz. I I'm really excited to try out a lot of these trends. Tell me if you think I'm wrong, so I want to say thank you guys so much for watching this video please subscribe. If you want to see more from me and I'll see you guys in the next video bye,

alaysia boyd: Curls dead to who?! Not this curly girl! I would not dream of relaxing my hair again

Lepidocrocite Quartz: The wet look? OH YES PLEASE My hair naturally has no volume, so if the wet look trends i'll be one happy girl, and i won't feel left out!

Bethany Simon: I'm really hoping for that fuzzy baby hair thing... I never lay my edges because I don't like that look. If your hair is soft and voluminous, why do you want your edges to look so different?? I don't get it.

How Jasmi: “I’m just gonna put a wig on” me af

José Hoseok: I’ve been laying my edges while leaving out my “baby” curls for two years now, my mind!

Tazziii: I've been trying to build up my hair accessories like cute bows and slides but its so hard to find so its a trend I'm looking forward to. Also LOVE wet look curls and struggle to get them so if we gonna see more tutorials for them I'm happy!

BodaciousBeverly: I just watched 6 other 2019 hair trends videos, and not one said straight hair was in. As a matter of fact, I saw several say big hair and curly perms are back. So keep your curls, girl! You are in style!!

Todne Woods: The only bee hive I think may go good is a high messy curly bun. A nicer version of Mag Simpson's on the Simpson cartoon.

Ani: U definitely wont be alone with the baby hair trend! I have been doing it my whole life i love it D:

Rylee Anderson: I looooooooove the baby hair thing. I didnt realize I had curly hair until i was like 15 or 16 because my mom started bleaching it when I was in like the first grade, and I stopped doing that sometime in high school because my hair was like 20x processed and DEAD asf, now that I have been able to grow it out from a pixie for ~3 years now I see these slightly longer curly wispies in the front and I think it is adorable.

Ashley Humann: I absolutely love the headband with curls look. I can never pull it off though. I hope this trend becomes big this year and maybe I can figure out how to wear them. Lol

Bob Charlie: Please make a video of the gel hair look, and the lose baby hair look. But do it your way.

Peachy Hime: Guuurl I feel you. For me it's the same. I have straight hair, but if I curl it everyday it's gonna end up DEAD. :D I love curly and straight hair, both looks equally good to me. I just think that girl with natural curly/ wavy hair look even better when wearing their hair with the natural curly/wavy texture, like it gives you so much bold and fun energy.

M,: We are in 2020 now And thank god the 'dead straight' trend never happened, in fact what happened was the opposite, More curly girls started wearing their hair natural!

Johanna Deutschman: Please let big headbands come in style so that I can 1. Delete my mistake fringe and 2. Cover my fivehead

Sophia Melotte: Guess I beat the whole game I got my hair dusty rose December 27th lol and I LOVE IT! Although I like it better when my hair is waved instead of my natural curls

Mic'a Sahara: that straight hair did look really good on her. but no, I'd just get a wig made for that. My natural hair would hate me

Shereese Blackman: Back to relaxers?????!!!Dead straight hair???!!No Thank You!!I'm over it

JayDeeLady: I love the way sometimes when she’s in the middle of a sentence, she talks in a American accent

sktmxogk: I just love how Taehyung is in the thumbnail just chilling with the Gals~ looking prettier then most of them~ lmao

Game Player: I loved this video please keep making these!

Mis Kitten: Im doing dusty pink again this year. . its easy because my hair is platinum at the moment so I will take advantage of that

Freija Harvey: Your hair is so so so so so gorgeous I’d love to have hair like you ❤️ sadly I’m a pale strawberry blonde with dead straight hair

Sarah Kirsten Rose: Never going back to relaxed hair. Not even going back to straightening hair! People who have naturally straight hair can rock that I’ll stick with what God gave me. Healthy is most beautiful!

Hitakshi Choudhary: I love uh lana, ur hairs #my goals You really inspired me Love from India

Julia Baier-Axelsson: I Love that she talks about trends in 2019 and then dabbed

mangoranges: Lana what's the name of that song you used in your hilarious "dead straight hair" part? love it! We can't go back there ever again. Thanks for making this, I also love the wet curls look and the loose baby hairs

Shiloh B: I actually shaved all my hair off last week! Its amazing!

Gloria Ramirez: No no no I did not try to take care of my hair all year just for flat straight hair to come back. I don't have curly hair I have wavy hair but it's starting to look more defined and healthier.

Veronica Sanchez: My whole life is just whispy hairs but not in a cute way

Jumana: can you do a how to refresh your hair form day 2 to 7 video please ❤

BamfordIsAnA.R.M.Y: I so hope the headbands come back big because I love those

Loved1st: I’m thinking the natural looks are coming in. Everything is so defined and looking like high maintenance right now! The wispy curls, dry frizzy curls, maybe even the Afro! Natural looking makeup that just emphasis features.. basically less is more! I do like straight hair as a change but a little heat straightening occasionally stops me feeling bored with my look Maybe it’s just wishful thinking!

Dee Luther: Such a Great VideO As AlwayS Love That ThumbNail ThO Your Absolutely Beautifully You ArE Makeup Look Amazing Hope you EnjoyinG your Spectacular Weekend as well

Zari Her: I NEED THAT CHANEL CLIP! but my hair recently decided to become an afro so I don't know how that would look with a clip sitting on a bunch of big voluminous curls lol

Courtney Dallas: I relaxed my hair at 6 months post big chop being impatient and it fell out so nope no relaxers 2019
