Sara: Watching 4c girls hair routine is still the most satisfying thing in the world.

mayavril1: All I know from my afro 4c hair journey after going through the whole 26+ products, arms sore and plastic caps (never did that - too lazy) is keep it simple. I simply asked myself when I was just living my life before black american influence (protective hairstyle , wig/weave wearing) what was my life like. I wanted it to be simple. Just to roll out of bed and go like a normal person - no bonnets and all that. I went back to that. Just wash my hair and moisturise. Obviously with a bit of money what I wash my hair with changes and what I moitsturise with but trust if that stuff ran out I am not stressing. Afro hair is dry that's the nature . It's best friend is water. A few products can give them the same effect but otherwise I just embrace my hair and don't stress. Black people with carribean roots have different textures and type. African hair is not monolith. Find out what works for you. Of course you can make it as complicated as you like - that's allowed. Let's just be honest about the desirable characteristics we are chasing - other types of hair and not our own.

Ada FeaGrend: If you use heavy oils and butters and don’t clarify often the oils and butters can buildup and repel water, which can make your hair dryer.

Na'Kesha Player: I needed this video so thank you soo much! It was clear, easy to understand, relatable and going on my playlist. Stay strong,my fellow 4c hair twins✌♥️

NHP Natural Hair Products: You focus on HEALTH and not length alone + you're gorgeous. *ARE WE TWINS? LOL!* I'm inspired to create this natural hair content, Thank you queen! ❤️❤️❤️

Vicki Phillips: I tried your routine and I am sooo pleased w the outcome. My hair is soft, manageable, shiny and has practically NO shrinkage! This is my new regiment from now on. Thanks so much for educating us bout humectants. I packed them ALL and gave them away

Clara Norman: Hey lol Shea Butter is my go to hair conditioner... I ran out a while back and my hair was as dry as the Sahara lol. Quick tip, boil some water and place your container in the hot water, add the shea butter to the container, this helps to melt the butter. You can then add your other oils easily. My mix usually contains peppermint oil, Tea tree oil, olive oil, Argan Oil, Castor oil. You can add coconut oil if you want lol. After everything has been incorporated, you can remove the container from the water bath. And just let it cool down and resolidify, you could mix it once or twice during this time. I usually do not measure anything but the shea butter should be around 70% to 75% of your mixture. I'll then go ahead and apply a generous amount to my hair and just braid it without any hair extension. My hair stays moisturized for up to 3 weeks no jokes. I have a liquid leave-in conditioner that I'll spray on the braided hair once a week.

Akua Bonlender: Ohhhh! No humectants in the dry months! I've been actually contributing to the green house effect all winter! Thank you so much for sharing the difference! This is a game changer.

BeComing Nyrell: The humectant tip was clutch! I never thought about the effects being the opposite in the winter. That would explain a lot! I just checked the ingredients of the two products I use and boop third ingredient a humectant.

ShesMelissaTierra: It was the “I’m sure this hair was juicy before I left this house “ sis you have found a new subie in me lol thanks for this detailed Informative video

Felix Enow: I’m a guy and I just found out my hair type, no wonder my hair feels like freaking sand‍♂️

Mo Sunshine: Nigerian Accents have a special place in my heart

Isabelle De Jong: Dryness is definitely a big issue because of the nature of our hair. And you know taking care of our hair is like a part time job

Chocolatier: Wow we have a very similar routine and almost all the same products! I’ve tried so many things and this is the only thing that will work to keep my 4c hair moisturized!

Cabblow Studios: My friend just told about porosity a week ago, but the wash day routine had so many steps I didn't take note of all of them so thank you for this video!

Dee Narjee: Really starting to see your growth and improvement in condition. Very encouraging. I cut mine off 18 months ago. I'm only really seeing progress now. Will definitely try this regime of yours.

A Evans: Shea butter is the drying factor. You'll have to apply more moisture. Your scalp naturally produces sebum, so putting something on it covers it and also makes it dry.

Virlene Hartley: Hey Addanna. I have normal porosity hair & my hair is constantly dry. It actually started breaking. Please help with a wash day & moisturising routine. Thank you very much for your vids. They're very informative as well as entertaining lol. Keep it up hun :)

sylvia anderson: You are a Naturally beautiful Lady!! It’s good to see you go from here to where you are headed!!! Yes enjoy the journey make up looks good!

MsHoneyFly11: Am enjoying your videos quite a lot. Out of all the deep conditioners I’ve used, nothing works better for me than that Eden body works dc. It’s so good and one of the first all natural ones I’ve tried! I keep that one in my stash! You may want to avoid silicones in your products too to help with buildup and dryness. I do not use them on my 4b high porosity hair. That cream of nature argan oil is overflowing with silicones!! I would only use it after straightening or blowing out my hair to keep it straight longer and as a heat protectant

angel love: The Shea butter-oil mix literally saved my hair. I was this close to shaving it all off again

Shahidah Hawkins: I appreciate your video so much!!! Thank you have been having issues for the first time with keeping moisture in my hair. You answered all my questions! Thanks again

Mo Sunshine: I used to use an applicator bottle for the ACV mix! Now I just put it directly in my shampoo. Both seem to be easier than the spray bottle

Renee Burris: I love the way that you explained the difference of love and high porosity. But I kinda got lost in the use of so many products. I believe I have low porosity also and less is more has been working for me, I've tried everything and I just cut my perm out in October. Thanks, oh I now have about 5 inches of natural hair

Hashi Black: Careful with how much shea butter or oils (it melts to oil) one puts on their hair. It’s a sealant. Sealants create a barrier to lock in moisture... but also makes a difficult for new moisture to penetrate the shaft

trianna2008: On this video almost a year late but right on time for me lol. Abd ugh, the low porosity dry hair struggle is REAL! Even if the moisture lasts forever after you get it in there, getting it in is such a task. I've made 2 major changes that's taken my type 4 hair from dry and course to juicy, soft, and moisturized for weeks on end: 1. replace shampooing with a cowash/clay wash double cleanse. Now I basically only shampoo when I'm coming off a long term protective style, want to do a protein treatment, or my scalp is acting up (once every 2-3 months). It's insane that my hair can feel soft throughout the entire wash process, and not just after the DC. 2. Before applying leave in, spray my hair with braid spray, press/massage it in (low porosity life lol), then follow up with the leave in. My hair takes a bit longer to dry like this but when I tell you my hair is still soft and fluffy as a cloud a week and a half to two weeks later! Of course, the level of moisture depends on your spray/leave in. I've had no luck with leave in sprays or plain water, but a braid spray that sits somewhere in the middle does well for my hair. Next, I'll try to make a juice from aloe vera and fenugreek and pair with my fave Mielle Hawaiian ginger leave in and see how long my hair can stay soft and moisturized. Lovely video as always! Love watching 4C wash days.

Phoenix Sun: Love this very descriptive and very informative video straight to the point!!

Candice B: Your hair is growing so thick and full. Fantastic thanks for the tips.

Being Dijah: I bought all the products in this video. Trashed my old ones (even the unopened ones cause they all had glycerin). My products just arrived today from clore beauty and I used the leave in conditioner and the tea tree oil on my scalp I kid you not, my hair has never felt this moisturized. Ever! It used to feel “greasy” but the texture was still dry (I don’t know if anyone can relate). Anyway just came back to find this video to say thank you

Vanessa LoverofChrist: Smart girl, so happy you researched all this information because I have the same problem‍

The African Trader: I love your tutorials, now I know why my hair looks the way it does definitely need to work on that for my next video

Moira Edwin-Jones: I just came across this upload and wow!!! I also have hair that just dries out like that. But here is what I learnt: 1) papaya leaf juice infused with a little bit of ACV and natural oils helps with volume 2) I always mix my leave in conditioners with my DIY oils to apply after spraying my papaya leaf juice 3) I follow with my specific lemongrass hair oil 4) I always tie my hair with nylon for at least 5minutes each time I moisturize my hair. Oh...I also moisturize everyday and my hair is going to be 2years old this April and it's almost mid back

The Diary Of Fonze: This is amazing because I've done this test multiple times on my channel and it is great to see others spreading awareness because what works for you may not work for the next person as far as hair growth and what products to use you know.

Shristi Jade: That shea butter looked so creamy your hair looks beautiful x

Toni Covey: Keep it up sis! It looks like a good routine. Thanks!

Katya: So nice to see a video from the prairies! a bit off topic but something I learned that can affect you if you've moved somewhere different is the water type, I grew up in manitoba where there is hard water but live in amsterdam now where the water is considered soft. I was back in winnipeg for a visit this winter and my hair went crazy it was dry, had had dandruff and lost its waves. It took me a while but I came across some info online that said this could be a result of the water and sure enough when I got back to Amsterdam everything went back to normal.

Kim Reid: Adanna, your hair! It's growing , woiiii love it! It looks healthy too, whatever your doing keep it up

Marian Nimoh: I love watching your hair videos. I wish you had a page where your fans can post pictures of the styles they did from your channel because I have a lot Anyways, can you please do an Afro, natural hair Afro with no weave, wig, crochet. Please?!♥️

Gloria Eguahon: I am so grateful to have a youtuber who comes out with her hairin all its gloriousness in order to help other naturalistas who have struggles in figuring our the best regimen that suits their hair... this nne is gold pure gold❣❣. Thank you.. following you bumper to bumper.. i think my hair is high porosity though.. it gets dry too easily... after wash day i just blink and its dry

Samantha Donaldson Campbell: This video was amazing. Very educational. I have been having dry hair from I migrated from Jamaica to Canada. I eat fruits everyday and I try to drink water. I am glad to come across this video. I will watch again to take note of the products used. Thanks

Gerri Miller: Under these clip ins are medium porosity curly girl hair. I love your moisture technique

Susan M Edwards: @adannamadueke, your video is being added to my playlist. This is the first video I have come across explaining inlaid men terms on Porosity Hair. I will most definitely rewatch and take notes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you. May God continue to bless you in all of your endeavours. Lastly, thank you for the tips on making extra money.

C EVr: Very informative for me! I’m definitely low porosity

Hairwayss: I'm so glad I came across your channel, I'm a new YouTuber and I've been browsing through hair channels for inspiration, yours is so so inspiring and educative, thanks for the uploads.

Lush Berry: The shrinkage is real! Ur hair is so beautiful!

milky Gacha: I’m so glad I found this channel! New sub love the end result! Simply beautiful

Al: So much BEAUTY Great video! Thank you for the inspiration

Haley Kleckner: Alberta is so dry! My mom has 4c hair, I'm going to send her this video because I know she struggles here with moisture!

Raquel Butler: I use the bentonite clay mask after the deep conditioner. It’s been working really well to help my hair stay moisturized! Are you going to post the style?

Kanika R.: Try adding your oil to the Shea butter and oil mixture... I also add aloe Vera. I use this mixture for long term styles like singles or when I don’t wash it but still need the moisture without direct water

Tonetta Clay: Great video. I can relate to the low porosity hair. Mines 4c

Sandy _Skaiz: Loved the video and found it really helpful even for more high porosity hair but I'm kinda confused. I thought glycerin was good for hair since it aids in trapping moisture or am I getting something wrong here?

Tessyije DAquino: This is going to help a lot of us natural.

Victoria Green: Thank you for this. I live in Montana, so dry. It's hard to maintain moisture with my 4c hair. Thank you

Ms. T Williams: THANK YOU! I was wondering how to moisturize my hair better. I'm not 4c but my hair is as dry as the desert...

Oluwadamilola Ashade: Finally a video for my hair type. Thank you.

Felicia Mangwani: My understanding of Low Porosity hair is that your virgin hair has not been exposed to things that could damage your hair like spending too much time out in the sun, dying it, blowdrying or using an iron to straighten your hair all the time. If you have not done anything that could potentially damage it, I would conclude to say all our virgin natural hair are low porosity and that includes white people's hair btw.

ADETOLA AJAYI: As soon as I heard “I live in Alberta” I knew I had reached my final stop. This is my second time watching a video from you but the first wasn’t as detailed as this. I’m definitely going to your dms now

Isabelle De Jong: Thank you so much it helped me alot i could washed my natural hair because of some reasons for a month. And my hair became much dry and i couldn't fix it but only because of you I'm free of that problem.

teahgurl: You have bomb styling videos , but it is so nice to get a haircare video from you. I remember you venting about hair growth so this is refreshing to watch

M H: Omg I just discovered this brand of products like two weeks ago and now watching your channel that super cool. Eden products works so well in the hair. I use the coconut and shea curl defining cream. Man oh man has it made all the difference in keeping my curls but also moisturizing my hair....

Cynthia onyia: Hello Nne, thank you for this your hair tutorial just what I needed for my daughter's hair, it's breaking like crazy plus is on the low porosity side and we live in Edmonton, so if you are in Alberta you know how the weather is. But all the stuff you used are not on your description as per where to get them from. Please can you send me where to get them that would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your video

John Helton: It's great to see this... I have healed myself as well. Weedborn oils have helped me a lot.

NosceteIpsum: Thank you for posting this video! You've help me more than you know, I wish you blessings peace and love

Afri Love: You’re definitely one of a kind! Like the ONLY true 4C Queen teaching the masses how to take and beautify their own hair! Thank you!

No Health Regrets: Great video. This is sooo helpful! Thanks

Somebody Special: I did the porosity hair test with the water and the results were low porosity but Everytime I moisturize my hair my hair the next day my hair is already dry like bread so I’m just like stuck.

Maeva M: Also if you want you can try the LCO method: Liquid : aloe Vera gel/juice OR Leave in : Shea moisture JBCO leave in Cream : ASIAM double cream (I recommend ) Oil/Sealant : I mix JBCO and and lighter oil like grape seed or aloe oil. Thank me later guys

Mary White: You are good with your hair, it is really growing. And your makeup is always gorgeous. Gives me hope. Thank you. You have a beautiful smile too.

Proud2BAMother: You and I have the same type of hair. My hair looks dull every time I step out the house. It does not retain moisture and it looks dry. . Can you do a video for the summer?

Shareese Humphrey: I appreciate this video, very informative. Thank you

Mildred Boateng: Thank you so much. I've watched so many videos and just had too much struggles. I'm going to try this.

Izmane Jean-Louis: Thankl you for sharing this. I think my hair is the same as yours. I will so be doing that test. YOU ARE AWESOME ALWAYS!!!!

Xaviier: Hello, would castor oil be a great mix to add in shea butter? Thanks for the share!

Empress Swiss: Low porosity hair retains what u trap in it so avoid too much protein cause it will make ur hair feel like straw so avoid protein products and only use it as needed. Also people with straight hair like whites, Indians, Spanish their hair grows faster because they wash more. Hair loves moisture their hair gets oily which forces them to wash. Even though our hair is hard to deal with when washed but as long as u r going to be home in winter no need to wash ur hair but soak it under water. During the summer do it everyday and u will be surprised to see how much ur hair grows and because it's drinking water everyday it's harder to break so u retain length and avoid shampoos use a clarifying one once a month if u must shampoo more than once use a moisturizing shampoo. Otherwise just use conditioner to cowash hair once or twice a week or everyday if u see fit. Shampoos strip out type 4 hair badly. And use small sandwich bags or plastic wraps on the ends of our hair secured with a rubber band after we moisturize and seal if we r not going to give our hair a drink in the shower daily this will help u retain length and keep hair healthy. It's how I've managed to grow waist length hair in under 5 years. Hair that didn't even touch my shoulder growing up. For us black girls very loose cornrows by our edges and just leave it, wigs r our best friend during winter.

Elizabeth Richardson: Sweetie Try using the tea tree spray on your scalp only when needed. You just moisturized your hair only to put something on your scalp to dry it out again

Cam Jam: Wow! Yes, Alberta has a very dry climate; I lived in Edmonton for awhile. I knew you lived in Canada when I heard you mention that you bought your tea tree shampoo at Winners. I love Winners! Also, the mention of jollof rice tells me that you're Nigerian-Canadian, correct?.Very informative video with pretty result. Cheers, from a fellow-low porosity natural in Toronto, ON.

Bis Edwards: Well done I learned a lot!!

Cyan Yvette: I did this. My hair stayed at the top of the cup. But my hair dries so fast. And whatever I put it in dries up immediately almost. So I have no clue how it’s low porosity

Funi Nukeri: this helped so much, going to check the ingredients in my products now

critic for the uploader: *Moisturizer/leave in conditioner/water, detangler;time and patience...*

Kelley L Grant: Great tips. I’m going to try them all. Thanks!!!

Lady B: Thank you that was very helpful

Kay Belle TV: I’m trying this tonight!

may sun: I love this woman coz I think she is hilarious

Love Brown: love when u giggle! And how normal you are with your jelloff rice and chicken. Your hair looked very nicely moisturised.

Av-Vienika Bartholomew: This vid was extremely helpful. Thanks sooooo very much

Earth As Heaven: I meannnnnnn you just took us to school! Thank you SO MUCH for this!

ase cisneros: I've been having dry hair too, no matter what i melt down shea butter with some regular hair cream .. using most shea butter then i spray it with aunt jackies half and half hydrating spray milk .and she is sooo soft.

sugababy: My hair is like that. Thanks for sharing and helping us . I also uses those products.

Alyssa Thomas: I did the strand test. My hair is still floating on the very top of the water after 8 minutes.

Juliana: As a low porosity girl with thin & fine hair, these things have really helped me especially in this unforgiving Canadian winter (but I'm still looking for a good leave in conditioner ) 1) I ONLY use warm water when dealing with my hair because cold water closes cuticles. I also steam my hair before doing hot oil treatments/ pre-poos 2) I don't use ACV as it also closes cuticles 3) Lightweight oils like sweet almond and avocado coupled with shea butter as a sealant have been helpful 4) Eden Bodyworks Jojoba and Monoi has also helped. I cycle between this and Aphogee Curlific Texture Treatment depending on if I need extra moisture or protein. Both are SUPER moisturising 5) I wash and deep condition every week. If my hair is acting up before 7days, I'll listen to it and wash it immediately 6) I keep my hair in flat twists whenever possible 7) Bentonite clay is key for me. The Aztec clay is too harsh, so I prefer using the Redmond Bentonite Clay because it's sooooooo gentle and very moisturising 8) I also started making the homemade hair butter Ethiopian and Eritrean women use as a pre-poo

LORDHAVEMERCY: Now I’m wondering if I’m low porosity because my hair drys super fast after it’s washed but then my hair is very dry and feels Brittle even while washing and conditioning it

Shanen So Sassy: Perfect. Can’t wait to try

Just Dana: Wow I have to say I am now fully understanding about the hair. This is super informative

Just Dana: I have the same type hair. I love this

Mary Clarke: Thanks for sharing! AVC works for me and Savannah shea masque as a deep conditoner!

Janet Umukoro: Living in Canada too, i know what you mean. The weather really sucks our moisture out. My tip would be to allow the water to penetrate your hair before shampooing. Allow your hair to be filled with it before cleansing.

Judith Naa Okailey Quaye: I really like the way you are straight forward at the beginning of your videos
