Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hi beautiful you look just as beautiful as last time. I saw you or maybe even more, who knew that was possible. I didn't, after years of being a hairdresser, i've noticed one major thing: most people have no idea what their hair type actually is. Is my hair thick? Is my hair thin? Is it fine? Is it coarse? Is it curly? Is it straight? Nobody has any clue. People with fine hair are notorious for saying that their hair is thin. It'S not thin. It'S fine. Those are two different things today. We'Re gon na review things down to the nitty-gritty details, we're gon na figure out what your scalp type is. Is it oily dry normal? Do you have high density or low density? Is your hair, thick or thin? Is your hair actually damaged, or is it actually healthy and also what type of wave pattern you actually have we'll go through everything from straight hair to the curliest of them all and everything in between now? This will help you a lot when figuring out what products are necessary for you and what shampoos and conditioners should you buy, and also it's just interesting to know what your hair type is that way we can all just figure it out once and for all and Be done with it and make me happy okay, if you want to figure out what your hair type actually is, then let's do it. Let'S get started. First, category is scalp type, maybe something you never thought about before. Actually, probably most of you guys have thought about it, but i want to review it because people get confused if their scalp is oily or is it dry or is it just normal? So let's review oily typically people with oily scalps. If you wash your hair in the morning and by midday or by night time, your hair is getting piecey and there's clearly a bit of oil on your hair. Strand typically means your hair is on the oily side. In combination with that, if you look at your scalp and by the end of the day after washing your head, it is really shiny. You can actually feel oil on your scalp means your hair is oily for sure 100 and if you have both combined girl, you probably got an extra extra oily scalp and you probably have an imbalance with something or you're stripping your hair way too often with shampoo. Now, let's move on to dry scalps dry scalps uh. Well, they look like the sahara desert, but besides that you usually got some tumbleweeds going across your scalp. You know because it's a desert comedy you know not my best thing. Typically, dry scalps are sensitive and prone to irritation. Sometimes you also experience what is considered dandruff or a dry scalp. Dandruff is not the only thing that affects dry scalp. There is other things, so i'm not a doctor. I don't want to inform you on that, but if you have uh little pieces of white skin sprinkled around your hair, you probably have some sort of dry scalp condition. Your scalp is dry, it can also be itchy, and you can also feel a lot of tension on your scalp. Like it's tight like you need to rip it open and you know stretch it out um. It feels tight, your head's dry, and now we have normal scalps. Anybody with a normal scalp will not get a buildup of excess oils on their scalp and their hair strands by the end of the day after washing their hair in the morning. And if you don't notice any dry, skin or flaky skin on your scalp or your head doesn't have any tension, you know so on and so forth. Everything we just reviewed. If you don't have any of those symptoms, you probably have a normal scalp, which is great. It'S the only time i like being normal is with my scalp. That was the easy bit. Okay, now we're gon na get onto things that are a little more. You know you got ta think a little bit to comprehend. Okay should be simple, though, now we're moving on to hair, thickness and hair density. This is one that makes me so annoyed the most it's when people confuse the two of these or just pretend they're both the same thing, because it's not they're actually, two different things. Not one singular thing so get it right. Hair thickness is describing the actual thickness of an individual piece of hair on your head. So if you pulled that hair out of your head - and you looked at it - is it thick or thin, then we have hair density and that describes. You know how big your damn ponytail is. When you pull your hair into ponytail, is it large? Is it small? That'S describing how many strands of hair you have on your head. Those are the two big things that i want you to remember: hair thickness and hair density, because that's the one that people get so hung up on and confused about and like look. No, i don't get it we'll, get it so thick or thin. You ask what hair type do you have? Is it thick or is it thin? I know what mine is thick baby now to measure hair thickness. If you have a piece of sewing thread, i'd recommend grabbing that grab a piece of thread pluck out a piece of your hair and compare the two side by side. The hair is naturally a little bit more consistent back here and a little bit thinner up here. So pluck from back here, if your hair is just as wide as the sewing thread or slightly thinner, that usually means you have thick hair. That'S right, your thick hair and, of course, if your hair is much thinner than the thread you have thin hair. If you don't have a thread around, you can also take the hair strand, run it through your fingers like this, and if you can feel the hair very much so it usually means you have thick hair. If you can't feel it, you kind of just like rub along it, and if you don't look at it, while you do it you're, like am i touching the hair or not yeah thin hair, now we're moving on to higher low density check. The density of your hair pull your damn hair back into a ponytail check. The circumference circumference is the measurement around an area. If you have low density hair, your circumference of your ponytail will be less than two inches. Medium density will be two or three inches and high density is four or more inches in circumference. Another way to figure this out, if you can't pull your hair into a ponytail or if you don't have a tape measure well, you can look at your hair in the mirror. If you can see your scalp without moving your hair around with your hands, you can just look down and see your damn scalp. Well, that probably means you have low density hair and if you can't see your scalp, if that is covered up honey like camo in the forest, you got high density congrats, i'm jealous, i got low density baby actually uh. My doctor told me: i had low density hair, so it wasn't a fun doctor visit. You know i actually kind of had a heart attack, so we work with what we got next we're gon na learn. If your hair is damaged or healthy people. All the time are like doing my hair so damaged and dry, and i'm like where there's not one split end on your hair, not one. So let me give you a few little pieces of criteria that describes damaged hair and let me try and help you figure out. If you actually have damaged hair or you just think you do, these people often get that confused. If your hair tangles easily girl, it's damaged yeah now, if you can't run your hands through it at all times, typically, your hair is dry, slash damaged. If your hair, you know, is just not growing um. Some people actually just can't grow very long hair naturally, but if your hair definitely has those ends, that'll look a little compromised along with it, not growing. Your hair is damaged. If you look down at your ends, if you can see them, if your hair is long enough and you're like look at them and you're like there's so many split ends like it looks tragic, it looks so scary, damaged hair. If you pull a piece of your hair - and you stretch it out like this, if it stretches your hair is damaged, if your hair, just snaps your hair, is healthy, congratulations if your hair doesn't dry for like literally 10 hours - and it's not you know very high Density, if your hair is just medium or low density and it takes hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours to dry, your hair is damaged because it's grasping onto that moisture because there's no natural moisture, so it needs to Grab onto that moisture and hold it for as long as possible, your hair is damaged and if it doesn't take that long to dry, it's not damaged. If, when you brush your hair you're getting clumps of hair coming out or you're, getting just me more than like 10 15 strands, your hair is probably damaged and if you're getting less than that, your hair is not damaged. It'S so healthy, wow. Good job is your hair shiny. Do you look like a well-groomed pony if it's shiny, your hair is healthy. If it's not you either need to wash it or your hair is damaged. It'S damaged, okay, we're on to curl pattern, now guys, okay, so curl pattern. It'S a touchy subject: if you don't get this right, some people get mad at you, 99.9999, when i'm not 99 of people have a curl pattern. Okay, it's very rare that your hair is skin straight. If your hair air dries and there's any like sort of bevel, like literally this much, you have wavy hair, pretty much everybody has wavy hair. You don't really come across anybody with pin straight hair, naturally so there's three sort of subcategories: there's wavy, there's curly and there's coily, wavy being the least curly and coily being the most. That didn't really make sense, but you get it we're gon na begin with 2a. This is the least wavy of them all. You just have that slight little bend that little cuckoo, but not like tight. I have two a you got just a little bit of texture to be then we're getting into the actual your hair is actually wavy. You have some wave pattern: okay, it's just a tiny bit more than 2a. What a weird coincidence: 2c! Your hair is wavy like this and they're tight they're like there's a lot of them girl 3a, which is just the classic curl. It'S like you took a curling iron, but not really it's a more lived and natural look just imagine like a curling iron curl 2b. You have those spiral curls everywhere, they're like and they're much smaller than the um previous 2a they're, more defined they're curlier. 3C. Oh now, you've got the corkscrews when you pull your hair down. Your hair expands a lot. It goes back up. The curls are even tighter than 2b. You get the boy, little sections all curly, all over the place beautiful. Now we get into level four. You guys. This is the coily hair. Okay. This is a little bit more of an irregular wave mixed with an irregular curl. It'S a tighter earlier wavier sort of hair, basically take 2c and 3c and mix them both together and now we got 4a. That is just a slightly coiled look and definitely when you pull it out, it bounces back okay and it's much longer when you pull it up. Now we have 4b, which is very simple. You guys not going to go into this too far. Um. You just have a little bit of a tighter coil than 4a. 4B is just a little bit tighter we're getting a little bit more into an afro at this point you know, and then we have the curliest of them all of all the lands which is 4c hair. It'S magic. It is very voluminous, very coily, very kinky and very beautiful. So those are all the different types of hair you can have and scalps everything under the sun. I mean you guys, you want to know what mine is. I have uh normal scalp. No dryness, no irregularities. It gets oily, you know not too fast, not too slow. I have low density hair. I don't have a ton of it girl, the older. I get the more it's going away. I'Ll miss you bye, i'll, see you later. I also have thin hair. My individual hair strand is on the thinner side. It is much thinner than a piece of sewing thread. I would consider my hair healthy right now. I don't color it so it's quite healthy and it's always shiny when i wash it and very soft and supple - and you know just all that good stuff and my curl pattern is 2a. As you can see, this is pretty much how it dries. Naturally, the tiniest little like bend just like a bevel, it's quite straight, though that is my hair type all laid out for you. I hope you guys can figure out yours now. I told you guys in the beginning of this video i wanted to help you discover what types of products would be best for your hair and, of course, i am going to recommend my own products because i formulated them. I know it's in them and i know the ingredients are fabulous and amazing and can do wonders for your hair and, if you're not interested in buying my products, for whatever reason um. Maybe this will help. You discover what products would be good for you, um elsewhere, on the market, let's get into it. Okay, first, we'll begin with salty salty is an amazing sea salt spray? Oh, what a name huh um salty, is gon na be great for pretty much everybody, but if we are going to get really specific here, anybody from 2a to 4c hair can use this. I do really prefer this for anybody with 2a to 3c hair. Okay, just a little more on the wavy side, maybe not people damaged hair, but people with more normal hair that hasn't been too processed or is totally falling off their head, because sea salt can be a little bit more drying. This will give those amazing beautifully defined. Soft beach waves and it'll make you that, like tousled, sexy style, electrified volumizing foam great for people with low density hair, can't stress that enough and for people with thin hair. If you want to expand your hair fibers, this actually does do that and actually like swells. It a little bit um, it also gives you amazing, height and amazing, hold so great for those of you with that kind of hair type. Also, this doesn't matter. If you have you know 4c, hair or 2a hair works for everybody, forcefield heat shield, i'm going to say this. One is just for everybody. You guys everybody needs a great heat protectant. This one protects up to 500 degrees fahrenheit. It also includes pro vitamin b5. So people with damaged hair can actually gain a lot from this um. It actually protects your hair from future damage and heals your current damage hydrogenated conditioning mist. This is great for everybody, but i will say great for those of you with drier hair, doesn't matter how thick or thin your hair is, or if your hair is low, dense, your high density doesn't matter that doesn't make a difference, but if your hair is dry, Your hair is damaged super great or your hair just gets really tangly after the shower super great for untangling, and just smoothing your hair out, we have viper necks, smoothing oil, anybody with anything in the 4a 4b 4c category. I love a good oil. We included the best of the best oils in this smells so sickening it actually dries into your hair and doesn't keep your hair looking greasy. You also have that bouncy curl, it won't be weighed down um and also anybody with damaged hair. Please use an oil bdsm slick and find bomb anybody, okay with curly hair. Please you need this. I know this is something that's kind of like weird. You know like what do i really need to slick and define bomb for girl? Just read the reviews. Everybody who's gotten. It is like. Why haven't i had this before it hydrates? It adds a lot of shine and it defines your curl. So if you have 4c hair, it's going to really define your fabulous coily hair anybody who has 3a 3b or 3c hair. It'S going to do a great job at defining your curls put a little on your finger. Twirl it around, you know, get on the ends and it'll perfectly define your waves without weighing it down and without making greasy and without making it crunchy. This also doesn't matter if you have low high density or anything in between club kid dry, shampoo. Oh my low density girls out there are guys dry. Shampoo is your friend is your best friend. Actually, it makes your hair look so much thicker mine actually doesn't make your hair gritty either. It actually makes it really soft, so you can use it on your clean hair and you'll still feel clean and refreshed, but you'll have extra volume because that powder is living in there adding the extra height. If you have a dry scalp, though, maybe don't use a dry shampoo because it is powder, it can make your head drier, because it's sucking in all those oils also ending with oily hair, who you guys know dry shampoo, is your best. You too, and powder does a way better job than aerosols. In my opinion, just you need to brush it through prismatic glow, hydrating mask you guys. If you have dry hair, get it girl damage dry hair. Please use a mask. I can't stress that enough. It says argan and bubble oil, it'll really hydrate really nicely and make her hair so smooth and silky and soft don't use this if your hair is low density and healthy because it'll just weigh it down. So, that's not what you need: electric rain moisture cream now. This, i feel like is a one. Size fits all kind of a product, but if we're gon na really try and narrow it down a little more well, i can't it is light enough to use on somebody with the finest of hair, also heavy enough to use on somebody who has 4c hair. Okay and needs a lot of hydration. It is buildable, so you can apply less and get less hydration and apply more and get more hydration. But all my products really dry into the hair and don't leave a greasy film on top because they are very high quality products. So you're gon na get amazing protein benefits and oils, and all these great ingredients to make your hair super healthy and feel nice and look shiny and luxurious glitterati is like your fun accessory. It'S like your fun handbag right, and this is the stuff that just makes you feel extra and fabulous just like i do every time i film a video honestly great for any wave pattern, and this is going to define your wave a bit. It'S going to add glitter and hydration, without that heavy sticky feel it's also great for a blow-dry styling. So if you have finer hair and you wan na get some really nice bouncy curls and you want to last you a long time, your best friend and of course it has a lot of sparkle, which is why it's called glitterati. So if you want to have some fun and style your hair at the same time, glitterati next, we have wavetech wavefoam another one size fits all to be honest with you. It is heavy enough to use on 4c hair but light enough to use on 2a hair. I know that makes no sense, but when you touch it, you'll know what i mean, because it is a foam, but it is buildable and it's just a really sick product. So if you have 2a hair it'll make your hair a little bit. Wavier it'll define your wave a little bit more, it won't add any crunch it'll. Also de-frizz your hair it'll. Add pro vitamin b5 to your hair. I'Ve had a lot of people foresee hair, use this product and see amazing results. It makes your hair so light and bouncy there's no sort of crunchy feeling, and it really defines your coily pattern. This will matter if you have thick or thin hair or lower high density. It'Ll work for everybody. I do have to say one thing: no guys. I'M sorry, but this product is sold out, we're working to get more in stock in about a month. It'S coming very soon we're working very hard over here to make that happen. Kaylee Karnes: "If your hair tangles easily, it's damaged" *Laughs in curly*

TreyJin: Brad looks like he is a 90s boyband member that just got done doing a cameo on Nick and got slimed. And now he is here to teach us hair, its adorable.

kaffeekream: *scalp* 1. oily - looks shiny - feels oily even just after hours of taking a bath - probably due to shampoo stripping natural oils 2. dry - may have white flakes (skin) - scalp may feel tight - like the sahara 3. normal - neither oily nor flakey *hair thickness* - thickness: how thick/thin an individual hair strand is 1. thick: if strand is same/slightly thinner than a piece of sewing thread 2. thin: if strand is a lot thinner than the thread **alternative method (w/o sewing thread) - thick: if u run a strand of hair thru ur fingers and u can feel it - thin: if without looking, u don't seem to notice/feel the strand thru ur fingers *hair density* - density: how thick/thin all of ur hair is (like when pulled into a ponytail) 1. small: ponytail circumference <2 in. 2. medium: ponytail circumference 2-3 in. 3. high: ponytail circumference 4+ in. **alternative method (w/o tape measure) - small: if u look down and can't see ur scalp - high: if ur scalp is covered by ur hair *damaged or healthy* 1. damaged - hair gets tangled easily - can't run hand thru hair (may also be dry) - hair doesn't grow long that easily + compromised ends - lots n lots of split ends - if u pull a piece of ur hair and it stretches - medium/low density hair takes too long to dry - if u brush ur hair and u gets clumps of hair (more than 10-15 strands) 2. healthy - if pull a piece of hair and it snaps - shiny like a well-groomed pony *basically if it doesn't meet the damaged criteria *curl pattern* *each has subcategories but brad focuses from wavy to coily since it's pretty rare to have stick straight hair *refer to the diagram at 7:45 for picture reference or just watch him explain lol 1) straight 2) wavy hair - if the hair bevels when it air dries, ur hair is not straight, probably wavy 2a. - least wavy - slight little bend, not tight - a little texture 2b. - hair is actually wavy - wave patterns appear, a bit more than 2a 2c. - hair has tight waves 3) curly hair 3a. - looks like a classic curl - like using a curling iron, but not really (looks more natural) 3b. - spiral curls - much smaller curls than 2a 3c. - cork screws - hair expands when pulled then goes back up (like a spring coil) 4) coily hair 4a. - combine 2c with 3c: an irregular wave mixed with irregular curl (tighter, wavier, curlier) - slightly coiled - definitely bounces back when pulled and much longer 4b. - kinda like an afro at this point - a little tighter coil than 4a 4c. - curliest - very voluminous, coily, and kinky *brad talks about products to use for ur hair type at 10:31 but i won't list them down since i don't live in the US and can't find them in my country

奈落の花: As a girl with an oily scalp, I got a question for y’all who have a normal scalp: *how does it feel to be God’s favorite?*

ToND1Ne: Many of us with a curl pattern have several types of hair. Mine is fine, of medium density, mostly 2C, but a small part near the crown, as well as right at the bangs area is 3A. Depending on the humidity, & the wind, it can range from 2B to 3B.

Courtney Ann: Brad I think a “testing popular shampoo and conditioner brands” would be an awesome video!!!!

Gemma Walker: Thanks Brad! My hair has been so abused for years & at the ripe old age of 37 I am ready to embrace my naturally wavy hair! Thanks to your video I now know I have a normal scalp, thick hair, medium density, 2b waves & my hair is finally healthy!

Elizabeth Montgomery: Thanks you helped me understand my daughters hair and mine :) she’s a 3a, I would say for me it’s a 2b I know my picture looks at best a 2a but it has so much more wave out of the shower like It’s almost to a 2c when it’s wet but it’s so thin and low density it just disappears when I dry it.

Treena Howey: This is what I took away from the video: I have dry, thin, low density, damaged, 2B type, soft wavy hair. Thanks for the info; your video was super helpful.

Skylar Burke: Scalp: probably dry Hair: thinner than a thread but I can definitely feel it. Kinda low density. Lots of hair loss even though I haven't swam or had any treatments done to it. And it spans across the wavy spectrum depending on when I washed it and what part of my head you're on. I'd like a consistent 2c but can't seem to get there

Clarissa Cortez: Anyone else get most of their complements from brad mondo ?

Rasmyyah Green: I’ve been doing hair over 10 years, based off my experience I do no feel that hair chart people typically go off of should be the standard ‍♀️ there are so many hair textures and patterns that are not accounted for on there and regardless of if you have a similar curl to someone it doesnt mean you guys will have the same routine

gianella rubio: I have a normal scalp, thick hair, high density, between damaged and healthy hair (I'm slowly doing a progress), 2a sometimes when I don't take care of it as I should and 2b when I take care of it :) Thanks for the video, Brad!

Kelli Crockett Art: Brad mondo really just called me damaged for like 2 minutes straight I feel so called out rn

Deliah Harmon: I’d like to see a version of this where you talk about us weirdos who have like 2a to 3a fine hair all on one scalp, with oily hair and a dry scalp, hair that naturally tries to drink the water. Lol, all due respect, my weird self is just more confused.

Leminade: Me: *enjoying my food* Brad: if your hair gets tangled easily- it's damaged Me: *stops and stares at screen* ._. Brad: If your hair is not growing- It's damaged Me: ._. Brad: if your hair has split ends- it's damaged Me: ._. Brad: if your hair comes out when combing- it's dama- Me: OK, I GET IT

Kyera: How I described my hair before watching: fine, thick(there's just so much of it!), and slightly wavy. How I will describe it from now on: Normal scalp, thin, high density, and wavy. Most definitely damaged and honestly it differs from 2a-2b depending on how recently I've coloured it... (I like to use fashion colours so... My hair isn't always pleased with me. Lol)

Just Me: Hi Brad! Loved your video. I have a question, since I have 4a hair will I need to straighten it first to measure the circumference of my ponytail? I feel like measuring it in is natural state would be deceiving since It expands.

sim: my hair is wavy and curves at the bottom but its straight and flat in the top. how do i make the top part same as the bottom? any advice?

Alexandria Grice: So... I recently cut off like 8 years of hair growth, and I dye my hair like once a year. Usually I'd only get 3" off my hair but it was time for a change. When my hair was long it was very straight and would not hold a curl for longer than a couple of hours. Now that it is short, the ends tend to (on their own being air dried) curl in one direction or the other. What exactly am I supposed to make of that when it comes to wave/curl pattern?

Nikki: “If you lose more than 15 hairs when you brush it, your hair is damaged.” Me, a curly girl with hair to my bootay, washing 2x a week, creating the loose strand equivalent of a rat every shower

Sneezy Kelsi: Normal scalp, Thick, dense, healthy (aside from my ends), 2a hair... thanks Brad

Cinthia Goch: I have at least 2 different types of hair. Most of it is dark blond, straigh and thin, but about 5% of strands are dark brown, thick and very wavy. And since it takes me a year or more between cuts, because I have hardly any split ends, I can tell those thicker hairs even grow faster. My hair is nice, but, at the same time, I don't know wtf is going on with it.

Katrin Karlsdottir: Before watching this I thought I had a normal scalp with, thick (dense), fine (strands - as opposed to course), slightly damaged (split ends), type 2A hair... After watching I know that my scalp is normal, with thin, dense, healthy, type 2A hair. I'm doing better than I thought. It will air dry in half an hour.

Hannah Kellogg: this gave me so much hair confidence I didn't know my hair was this healthy and dense thanksss

Icey fall: My confidence level went

Ana Borja: The most shocking thing I learned about my hair is that it’s SEVERELY damaged. It’s shiny so it looks decent but with what Brad said I’m surprised I’m not bald already

yzkkoch: My hair at the ends are always curved and when I had bangs a few years ago they would naturally curl into a loop, when my hair is dry it becomes frizzy and puffy. My dad also has curly hair so im now wondering if I may have curly or wavy hair but I don’t know how to bring them out Edit: also I have an entire another layer on top on my head like a crown, Literally split ends or baby hairs that are curled up on my head SO CURLED UP literal 360

Scarlet: I had no idea my hair type was so rare. My hair is stick straight, like there's no difference in how straight it looks whether I get a blowout or just blow dry it by flipping my head upside down. I have naturally blond hair, my dad's family is Dutch

Angie Dillman: I learn a lot from this channel, thank you. I always thought my hair was thick but never really knew until today, when I watched your video, lol. Also I just took off 9" ( I've had long hair for a while and it grows fast) and I wanted a transformation, and knew what I wanted in my head but somehow it didn't translate to the hair dresser, we talked about choppy layering and she did none so not sure how she missed that but I still need a couple inches off and I want layers, even though I have thick hair and a lot of it, I love volume, I always have. Hopefully it will turn out nice.

Sierra Grant: me: has stick straight hair naturally also me: oooh let’s find out what my hair type is

Raphaela Pareto: Hi, Brad! =) Thanks for the video! ♥ I was wondering...is it possible to be in two different categories as seasons/ weather change? Because I feel like during summer and spring I have oily scalp, but during autumn and winter it goes towards the normal side. Then again the hair is annoyingly straight on dry days, but it becames wavy with humidity...

Bionic Badass: My hair had been pin straight until I turned 20. (I'm 24 now) People would ask me ALL THE TIME if I straightened it. (No I did not) One day, I noticed a patch of hair that was super curly! After that it started curling at random, most days its still pin straight, some days I'll find curly patches or even individual strands that are curly. It also is now super frizzy, and my hair never had that problem before. It was so tame, I miss it My mom had this happen, and Itll probably turn into a full head of curly hair when im 30, like hers did. I wonder if Brad knows anything about abrupt hair changes

Crazier 98: My cousin has really really straight hair, like wow. It's straight, shiny and healthy, and it's all so natural. ❤

Menna Nagy: Very informative and useful, Thank you Brad!!

Oona Obrien: Plot twist: brand is talking into a mirror while doing the intro

CV H: It took chopping all my hair off to a short bob and dying it cheap box dye colours for me to realise how lucky I am with my natural hair - it’s the only thing I wouldn’t change Took a long ass time to get it back to the way it was, it was a bitch of a learning curve.

PsykoKai: I've trained my hair to be kinda less curly, from a 3a to a 2c edit: I did this by tying my hair back and constantly brushing. It's not striaght but it's not afro-ey anymore. It's wavy.

kvzxn: Growing up as a kid, I've always brushed my hair and tie it in a tight ponytail. I never let my hair down in school and hardly ever let it down. There were sometimes I'd let my hair down at home and everytime I'd brush it and it would come out as poofy or frizzy. 2 years ago I started washing my hair in cold water and had 2c hair :) now I wash my hair in cold water most days and love my hair the way it is.

Narconia: When he said "If your hair tangles easily, it's damaged" I laughed even when i was young my curly hair got tangled a few minutes to a hour after brushing it, even if it was in a pony tail lol. Tangles don't always mean damage ROFLOL it can also happen to hair in general, its just damaged hair tangles easier and faster is all. People can have damaged hair and not have any of those "damaged" things he mentioned because they also use products to help fix/patch the hair and hide the damage. Also you can dye your hair, which causes damage, and not have any of the signs of damage.

hannah b: "If your hair takes hours upon hours to dry, it's probably damaged." *cries in thick, high density, curly hair*

Jossette hernanddez: I love this video and I think we should do this as a semi annual must watch video

Shovi: When Brad said "Damaged or healthy" I laughed so hard bc I kNOW it's damaged. I bleached my hair like 4-5 times? (All since November 2019) One time I had pastel colors, so, we all know how much you need to bleach your hair for that- Not me having 3 different types of curls. The back of my head is 2c, in the half is 3a and in front, it's 3b. Like- Pls stop. Be one pls✊

Sarita Cruz: What a great explanation of curl type!

ashxcxc: My hair ‍♀️ Color: honey blonde Scalp: dry Thick or thin: thin as hell Density: (this shocked me) 3.5 inches Curl pattern: slight waves So here’s what I learned: I have a dry scalp but only a lil bit. My individual hair strands are like so thin, however I have a lot of those strands of hair, so my density is actually not that small. My hair isn’t that damaged, however it does tangle sometimes

Elle: Brad: "If you can't run your hand through your hair at all times, it's damaged. If you lose more than 10 strands when brushing your hair is damaged." Me, who has curly hair:

Chyara Jolie: My hair goes from 2a to 3a. 2a in the front, 2b and c, nearly everywhere and in the back picture perfect 3a curls.

Sarah Weiler: I have super fine hair which is prone to breakage, brittleness and dryness. Here are some tips: 1. Build-up is a real problem for us, and find the best products for you. I recommend no sulfates or silicones because our hair is extra fragile and needs gentler care. If you shampoo thoroughly with sulfate-free hair products you can be more thorough in removing build-up during wash day. 2. Don't use normal hair ties. I use either the "no crease" ones that have a knot on one end or nylon ones, both can be found on amazon. Normal hair ties break fine hair like crazy. 3. Hair clips and scrunchies are great for us. They're gentle on fine hair which we need. 4. Let your hair down. When it's in a ponytail or bun for too long the hair around your face can break and you get crazy baby hairs. Put it in a loose braid at night and let it down after it's been up all day and this should help keep it consistent. 5. Switch between moisture and strength. Fine hair gets frizzy and needs moisture, but it also needs fortification. I alternate strengthening and moisturizing conditioners and use a lightweight oil at the ends to keep them from being dry and brittle. If your hair feels too dry, switch to moisture. If it feels too heavy or weak, switch to strengthening. 6. Use a tangle teezer or wet brush exclusively. We need gentle tools to keep our hair from breaking and normal brushes can be too rough. 7. Satin pillow cases are a godsend. They aren't rough on hair and don't absorb oils. I hope this helps!

404LenaNotFound: Well my hair‘s really oily after one day but also is itching. The thing is. My scalp is probably too dry and a bit irritated by it‘s daily wash. So to protect itself my scalp produces more oil to make sure it‘s not a desert. Therefore, having oily hair is one thing, but also make sure to check on the reason why it is oily.

Tired Peach: My hair can either be a 2a — 3a depending on if I air dry or towel dry

stelena: I’m sitting here after getting my wisdom teeth out with a swollen jar and dribble and brad still made me feel beautiful

Eliza A: Sometimes when I shower my hair looks wavy and then I get random curls on some parts of my hair and also shorter pieces of hair so idk what type I am

Theresa Shay: I've used so many of your products, and I SWEAR BY THEM!!! I get so many compliments. On not only how my hair looks, but also how it smells! I would feel like a walking commercial for Xmondo products!!! Not a bad gig though lol

dina ._.: Here are mine: -> normal scalp -> thick hair -> high density (idk how to say it ☠️) -> very different curl patterns, on most places its 3a, a lot of 2c too and some 3b. Then theres like these 2 strans of 2b hair ruining the look

Isa A: I remember this girl was projecting her hate for her curly hair by telling me that I had curly hair too lmao I have 2a hair... no curls in sight. It’s straight at the top and has very large waves at the bottom in some parts.. my hair looks straight/wavy at the same time lol people need to start loving their hair and stop projecting their insecurities onto others. Since when is wavy curly??

Jess: "If you can't run your fingers through your hair it's damaged" **cries in Afro-Caribbean 4b hair type**

Jenna Gets Creative: Old video now, I know, but I'm curious about my daughter's curl pattern. Up on top of the scalp it's 2B but around the earlobe/base of the skull it becomes 3B/C if it's clean or if it's a really humid day. On dryer days or when her hair needs a good wash, it looks like she has 2C and I've selectively pin-curled a few chunks.

dr rd: Yeah, I air dry my hair and it is pin straight, sometimes I get flicks on the ends of my hair but that is Genetics, my dad has the same hair, it is unusually fine, shiny and soft too. I don't meet many people with my hair type, I feel it's a bit rare

Danielle Douglas: I just learned about the curly hair codes, im here to learn and finally get the curl I want WHAT THE HECK MY HAIR IN A PONY TAIL IS 6 INCHES!!!!!.....now I understand why the hairdresser asked me when I was like 12 how I hold my head up...its thick too.

Z Knight: Is there any way to figure out the actual curl pattern of hair after it’s been bleach damaged? I swear my hair was so much wavier before I bleached it but now (even after going back dark and leaving it alone for months) it’s still like 2a MAYBE bc it’s damaged. I’m afraid I’m gonna have to literally wait until all of the bleached area grows out and is cut off before I can see my curl pattern again

Jordan: 0:00 intro 1:00 scalp type 3:06 hair thickness/density (meaning and difference) 3:46 thick or thin hair 4:41 high/low density 5:34 damaged or healthy hair 7:18 curl pattern 9:30 Brad's hair type 10:18 products best for your hair 16:23 outro

__zaracc__: I’m crying I have everything u said about damaged hair

Tamara Umbinetti: Changing my shampoo and conditioner and really.... caring in general was the best thing! I've gotten more compliments in the last month than ever in my life.

verni p: 1. Scalp- dry, has dandruff 2. Thick or thin- thick 3. Density- High Density 4. Damaged or healthy- damaged 5. Curl Pattern- 2c and VERY FRIZZYY

OceanEyes: My scalp: just a tad dry My thickness: fiiiiiine Density: medium (I'm shocked I thought it was thin!) Type: 1a/b? It frizzes a lot in humidity and my baby hairs form pin curls on hot days, it's slightly wavy, but I always brush it straight so idk now if I've been treating it wrong my whole life and my hair actually has the potential to be wavy??? Very exciting, gonna try some things! Over-all takeaway: ummm thank you so much for this video!!!

Nicole Polachak: Brad I love you ❤️ thank you you're great. This is the best and so helpful!!

Anonymous: My hair was 2a when I am small, but slowly when I grow up it turns to 1. My head’s still a mixture of type1 and type2a tho, it’s just more type1 than 2a now than before

Kairi Masakaki: Brad: you're beautiful Also Brad: your hair type does not exist (1a) I never knew I was bald but at least I'm still beautiful...

sk sk: Weirdly... Via blood transfusions my hair got from 2a to 2c. Fun really, to now have some curls!

SimsLover1989: When I let my hair dry naturally I end up looking like Hermione Granger in the first Harry Potter movie.

Pinkie Pie: Im surprised; I just measured the circumference and it's 4 inches yet I've always felt like I didn't have much hair. I see women with 'thicker' or higher density hair and wish that were me. I think it's medium density because I can kind of see my scalp. I've finally grown it out after bleaching for years (yes, the choppy blonde cut in my pfp is not recent, by a few years lol but it's one of my favourites as I thought I looked edgy like Debbie Harry; I was going through a rock/grunge phase ) And my hair strand thickness is slightly thinner than string. I don't understand why my current hair dresser told me that my hair is too thin for curtain bangs and layers. I've literally had short choppy bangs, side bangs, etc, and many layers but my hair was a lot shorter then. It's down to my hips now, which is the longest it's ever been. I hadn't had a professional cut in a couple years and decided to get curtain bangs (my Mum has way thinner and lower density hair than mine and rocks them) but I went to two different stylists who said my hair wasn't right for it. Even though I've literally had all types of bangs as I said before. The second stylist said she'd do longer layers, and a longer styled curtain cut but the fringe wasn't as short as I wanted. I think her issue was that the layers would 'thin' the hair out (at least that's what she said) and the contrast between the length of my hair paired with short choppy bangs wouldn't look good. So now I'm at a loss as to what style to pick without losing the length. I have a slight cowlick too that makes fringes harder to train. I'm just still shocked to learn my hair is normal and 'thick', or should I say high density, when it doesn't appear that way to me. It's very straight too, so maybe the lack of volume doesn't help ‍♀️

PsychoNikki: I love this man. Brains and personality and style, and hair.

Alina Bishop: The only thing I disagree with is the whole if you lose tons of hair bit, there's a fine line between normal and abnormal hair shedding. Typically yes if you have straight to slightly wavy hair then you shouldn't be losing too much, however if you have 2 c and up you usually lose a lot more and it's totally Normal.

Leilane Fallace: I think my hair type wasn’t mentioned in the video haha it’s always been 100% straight, wet or dry, and my sis’, mom’s, grandma’s are all the same… after I started to dye and do perms it changed a bit but not as I wished.. always wanted wavy/curly hair and nothing really works.. the maximum I got are these slightest waves..

Madison Betts: My scalp/hair is dry and oily so I have a hard time lol fighting between being weighed down or it being dry & sort of frizzy so I go back and fourth with product. I just found out about my curl pattern a week ago

Aishvi Bhatia: I love this video and I love your vibe SOO MUCH!

Discord IsCalling: What I've learned I have a dry scalp (boo) thicc hair high density (she was over 5 inches ) damaged (she was tangled, had a split end, could stretch around the solar system, she looses a LOT of hair strands when brushed ) 2a curl pattern

Klitschiklu: I only noticed I have wavy/curly hair like 3 years ago. I have really thick, dry hair and A LOT OF IT. It grows 1,75cm per month (yes I've measured a year after I shaved my head). I'm half Brazilianand German. The German side has fine, straight hair. The Brazilian side has eve FINER and straighter hair. No idea, where my hair comes from, but both my parents don't have a lot lol. I always had it down to my butt and used a roundbrush on it (LOTS OF FRIZZY BRIZZLES). I only noticed my hair pattern after only brushing it in the shower mit conditioner in it and being careful, cause dry brushing always hurt (I NEVER USED CONDITIONER BEFORE). It's a long journey and I'm still on it.

Kelly St-Hilaire: Brad calling me beautiful is boosting my confidence so much and he doesn't even know it. ILY BRAD!!!

Skein Game Podcast: I shaved my head right down to my scalp with a razor and kept it that way for almost a year. I massaged and babied my scalp. It's been 4 months growing in and my hair is coming in strawberry blonde (I'm a natural ash blonde and always have been but my mom is natural ginger so...) and I have baby curls where my hair has always been fine and bone straight. Who knew that 25 years of bleaching and colouring my hair was really messing up the natural colour and texture lol

Amira Nicole: I have a question, is it normal for your hair to be less curly when it's shorter? My hair is normally around 2b or c when it's around shoulder length but when I cut it shorter recently it's now more like 2a

Radu Coroi: Wash your hair with spring/fountain water (basically non chlorine) or rain water (only if you live in a non polluted or a big city) and your hair will literally turn in like fairy tail. It makes your hair silk smooth.

Jensen Caldwell: "if your hair stretches, it's damaged" -- unless you have EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a hereditary connective tissue disorder), bc our skin + hair + nails all can be extra stretchy/bendy, just like our joints

Aji Nana: Hi Brad I have 2C hair but according to your advice here I think it’s dry AND damaged. Can you kindly list a few products that will help me( I will check if I can get your products on Amazon )

RickyV: When he said 99.9999% of people have a curl pattern … I feel like a lot of mexican/eastern Asian people have really straight hair like my self. My hair gets so ugly when I grow it out

Adrienne Tardi Gurden: You look fab! My hair is thick and insanely dense. Every stylist from Manhattan, SoBe, and London says it. Even with keratin treatment it takes so long to dry. Ugh, so enjoy the less dense

ParkerJPark: Him going over scalp types: Me over here with a oily scalp and really bad dandruff: I see

Pamie Tries: Definitely not in straight gang, But Curly gang don't want us.... Where are my fella wavy baby at

Ashley Hamilton: I love Brad and watching his videos but I don't think what he says in a lot of videos is very applicable to curly hair girls but that's why a lot of curly girls go to salons geared towards curly hair. But I keep watching because he is entertaining

Krystian Osbourn: If I comb my hair when I get out of the shower (pick, wide tooth, fingers, ANYTHING) my hair will air dry PIN straight. But if I don’t touch it at all, it air dries wavy. I get I’m probably a 2A, but that confuses me lol

Jenny Estrada: Damaged, thick, high density, dry, straight hair What kind of shampoo + conditioner should I use to repair the damage and get rid of the dry, itchy flakes??

Simpossible: Brad: You look as beautiful as last time, maybe a little more Me: So you are saying I was ugly last time? Just in case, I am laying in my bed having a double chin and looking ugly af…you are probably right

T Dutches: I'd like to see Brad do a video using his hair products on someone with 4a-4c hair.

Duine éigeann: My hair is straight on the top, but on the lower side to underneath, it’s curly asf. My hair used to be completely dead straight but around early to mid 2020, my hair started curling like i said on the lower side to underneath. I wish my hair was still completely straight so if anyone knows how to fix this or if there’s a reason because of this, LEMME KNOW PLEASE

Caroline Simme: Me: normal scalp, thick hair, thick ponytail, take 5-24 hours to dry because it is SOO thick, little damage, 2b hair type. Jep that’s nice

Kim Van Duijnhoven: It is so unfortunate that there is no shipping to Europe :( I would love to buy your product!

K Perry: I feel like I have combination scalp. It gets oily but I also have dandruff. My hair is thick and medium density and a mix between 2B and 2C. I also get some of my hair that does that gorgeous ringlet, but most of it is just wavy.

Valerie Sweeney: I’m scared my boyfriend is going to see brads texts and be like “who is brad and why is he calling you beautiful, gorgeous, and stunning?” Love you so much Brad

Youngroyalsgivesmechills: All my life I thought I had straight hair because it was oily and brushed through it like with straight hair which was a stupid assumption that curly hair is always dry, but turns out I was 3a but I just destroyed my curls.

andra c.: my curl pattern is currently mixture of 2a,b and c cuz I straightened my hair wrong in the past And now the top layer of my hair is 2a and the rest is 2b-c So yeah if I don't style my hair somehow I can't go out with my natural hair Am I the only one with this type of problem?
