Hey guys, so i'm filming this on my iphone. So as you can see, my hair looks really crazy right now. It'S literally has ounces of ounces of gossipy gel and glue on my hair literally, my hair cannot come up um, but i am going to be washing. My hair, so i tried to do this tutorial before, but it just didn't work out, so i'm going to show you everything i do at the end, um you're not going to see me do like my projector style, because i have my mom. Do it because, honestly, i still struggle with my hair, i have 4c hair. My hair is really thick. I have a lot of it, also my hair shorter, because i did cut it a month and a half ago i cut two inches off because i had so much heat damage. I it just needed to be cut off, but right now it looks really crazy because it's very very dirty and it's been in a slick back ponytail for bun for days. So the first thing i'm going to do is part my hair down the middle, and i'm going to do it into three sections on each side and i'm not the best departing. So, as you can see, i somewhat have. I have a fun part and i'm just going to take this chapstick and go down and open, and it's going to be harder for me because my hair is so gelled up. So i'm honestly just going to have to use my fingers and go from here. I don't think that's like a real part. Honestly. Sometimes it takes me like i'm the i am when i tell y'all the worst at farting. I could not part my hair to save my daniel life, so even if it's not perfect, which is probably not - i don't watch this back like what the heck driving um um, it's fine, it's whatever my hair is still getting washed. So i'm putting this portion in a road man, i'm just gon na leave that off to the side, and the first thing i do is i have my rice, water. So look at my towel because, first of all, it's very cold. I had in the fridge. So what i did was, i took rice, white, rice and rinsed it off and then put it in a jar of water and set it out overnight 24 hours, and then i put it into a spray bottle and because i think it will go bad. If you leave it out and you don't use it for more than a day um, i then drain the rice out and put the water in the spray bottle and put it in. What i do is i take my front and, like i said, my hair is like very stuck together right now, because it has been in a slick, back ponytail and i use honestly way too much gel i'm. Never i'm not gon na say i'm not gon na. Do a slick back ponytail again, but i'm never gon na. Do it for this amount of days, because it honestly is just not good for your hair and the aftermath of it is just the work. So i'm going to pin this back section and i'm going to show you guys what i do so i might have to use conditioner to comb it out. If i do it's going to be the maui moisture, this is not sponsored, i'm just showing you what i use so i'm going to take my rice water and make sure that the part is thick enough. Yeah, that's good! So i'm gon na take this water and i probably will have to use a conditioner and you're mainly gon na get it on your scalp. But i have to loosen my hair up because, like i said, it's been gelled down for some days and this is very very cold and it does not smell good. So rice, water is just really good for your hair. It strengthens it makes it grow faster. I think it has like protein in it, so the main important part is your scalp. So i'm going to separate my hair and really get the rice water on my scalp and massage it in, and i also put it all over my hair, including those ends, because my ends literally have been the worst so and then, if anything gets knotted like this, You just want to separate it, but big mistake to me. I honestly should not have left this ponytail on my hair for that long, but it's whatever it's fine, and probably i'm just gon na use um conditioner, because i don't want to break my hair off and my hair is shedding a lot because it has not been Combed in days and days and days so if you guys are like, why is her hair shedding so much it's because i don't like to manipulate it even more so, as you can see, there is some hair there, but that is normal hair um sheds. I think hundreds or thousands of strands a day so imagine not brushing your hair or combing through it for a couple days. Of course, it's going to have all that in there. So again, i'm just really gon na go on my scalp section it off and just really make sure that it's well and saturated in there and get those ends. And maybe i don't have to use conditioner we'll see. But i also i'm going to use my felicia leatherwood brook hairbrush, and this hair brush is really good if you have 4c hair, um or just big hair in general, it's good for anything, and you start at the bottom and comb out and then work your way Up so if you feel like it's stopped, you don't, you know, keep going, you work your way out of the knot that is in your hair and work from there and if it feels like it's not slipping, you could either add conditioner or water, but i'm trying To figure out, if i need conditioner yet and finger comb finger, combing also is the best your fingers can really get through those knots and curls and make sure it's good and then you're gon na go back with the brush start from the bottom and work. Your way up, you never want to start from the top and work your way down. That will for sure rip your hair out. So, as you can see see that there, let me just work the knot now and down, but, like i said, my hair is extra naughty today because it hasn't been touched. I haven't done it. It'S been in this style for days and honestly i probably won't need conditioner, i'm not sure, but i'm probably just going to do this. I love to like extra comb it to make sure it's all good and it's all out, but for everyone say, oh, you don't have 4c hair. Yes, i do many hairstylists who have done my hair, who specialize in natural hair black hair have told me. I do have 4c, the front of my hair is softer than the middle for sure, so the middle is more coarse. The front is more soft and you know easier to comb through. That'S usually how it is um. The back of my hair is soft. The front of my hair in the middle is just way more coarse and 4c, but yeah it's not hard to comb through my hair, really sometimes it can be, but i think i'm just done with this section - i don't want to overcome it, but i'll make sure I get enough of that rice water in there, because i want my hair to grow just swirl it around like that and massage it into your scalp. The scalp is the more most important you know. I put it all in my hair to make sure that you know everything is saturated and it works. But you know the scalp is the most important when it comes to it, because that's where your hair grows from your scalp, your scalp needs to be healthy. If it's not healthy, it's not gon na grow correctly, so i'm gon na just knot it up. I'M just going to do the same thing again, i'm going to speed through this one and then from there, because i mean you guys get the point of what i'm doing um, i'm just going to cut two when it's all done like when all sides are pinned Up before i get in the shower, so i'm gon na speed this through and then after i speed it through. I will see you before i get the shower. Also disclaimer, i'm not professional. I am still learning how to do my hair, because i kind of shied away from it for years, because my hair was so thick and coarse. I didn't know how to manage it. I was too scared to do it, so if you guys have also, if you guys, have any tips of 4c hair growing it long, especially because i did have to cut two inches of it off, you know i didn't want to have continuous heat damage or i Feel like, if you have heat damage, your hair is just not gon na grow. If you guys have any advice on you know, just any type of home remedies natural products i should use. Let me know, because i'm always looking for new stuff to try. You know because nothing is set in stone. You got ta, try a bunch of products to see what works and what doesn't work, so i'm definitely open to trying great products. But it's because you know also. I want to say just because this stuff works for me or somewhat works for me, i'm figuring out myself doesn't mean it's going to work for you. So keep that in mind as well, but i would suggest you know, keeping your objects open and just trying trying a bunch of products. You can't go wrong with just trying stuff, but i'm making sure that i'm really getting the scalp good with the rice, water and i'm gon na then massage it. But i feel like, but, as you can see, this part of my hair is a lot more coarse and thicker. You just tell by the way it is usually what i would do is if i wasn't using rice, water um. I would use this too to comb. My hair, through just to make sure you know i'm really getting those knots out, but i'm gon na do that in the shower, so either way it's fine either way. It'S fine! It'S up to you guys how you want to do. If you want to use conditioner, you know, i don't know, i don't know how you guys do your hair, but i'm going to use conditioner once i put the shampoo in because the shampoo dries your hair out and then when you try to comb it, it's so Hard, so the conditioner is really going to help get those kinks out, like i said, the the middle part of my hair is a lot harder for me to comb than the front or the back. That'S just how it is for me, and now i'm not doing it hard. This is how i usually comb my hair. It just might seem like i'm doing it really hard and with this brush you don't have to just do sideways. You can do the wrong way too so like this, that's why i love this brush so much because it really gets those knots out and it doesn't pull your hair like it really doesn't pull your hair like those regular brushes too, like i said this is not Sponsored i'm just really trying to help you guys and tell you guys what i use for my hair and my hand, and my arm is already getting tired from combing all of this out, but yeah. Usually my hair. I mean it's always this hard to comb through, but because i had it in that style for so long just sitting, it's just harder and no, it does not hurt i'm making a face, because my arm is tired. But if you feel like you're, pulling your hair stop and reset and try again don't continue to do it and i'm gon na add you see this part of my hair is way thicker than the front which sometimes um. I can't fully get it like here because i'm not in the shower once that water hits your head. It makes it your hair stretch more. So it's easier for me to um comb through it in the shower, while the water is hitting it. So that's why sometimes i also just use my fingers, but, as i'm using my fingers, you see my hand is just spinning through my hair, which is great and amazing, see it like. My hair also gets really um, tangled quick, which sucks so i could detangle it and then a minute later. It'S tangled back up again. So that's another thing about my hair. I cannot stand but just got ta work through it. Now that is good. For now, i'm not gon na dress it more until this is not the only time um. Okay guys. This is how my hair looks it just sectioned in three parts, each side. So six in total, i'm going to show you how much hair i lost mind you. I have not comb my hair out and oh, it's literally been over a week so so far. This is how much hair came out honestly, not that terrible for over seven days, um, so i'm sure more will come out once i'm in the shower. I'M sure this is just the first part of detangling that i'm doing so now. What i'm going to do is. I am going to wash my hair, so i'm going to get the shampoo in there scrub my scalp scalp, really good. I'M going to probably use this conditioner just to comb my hair out, while i have the shampoo in it just so, it doesn't make the rest of my hair, dryer and hard for me to comb later and then i'm going to show you guys the process of Me doing my deep condition, so i'm going to put that in there sit under the dryer, but so far right now, um after after i wash my hair, we'll be halfway done with the process. But i'm just going to wash my hair right now and i will see you guys after my shampoo, i'm going to be using the organic black soap hair wash, which is really really good and running out. But it's really good and i'm just going to use this. Only just so i can have some slippage in my hair when i'm combing through it. So i have washed everything out um. I shampoo my hair. Now i'm going to go in with the k, curls deep conditioning butter, and this is what it looks like um. I got this from a girl on youtube she's, another natural hair guru on youtube that i watch and she is forcey hair and literally it's down to her butt and she makes these products at home. So i was like you know what i'm just going to get whatever she's using i want to try it out, doesn't mean it'll necessarily work for me, but i used it once already and i like it a lot and i'm going to get a shower cap, because I'M going to sit under the dryer after this, so i got my shower craft ready and i'm also going to be using some almond oil just to nourish and moisturize my hair. So what i'm going to do is take each section down which this is how it looks right now and i feel like the this deep conditioner really helps my hair, and it makes it really soft, which is good, so i'm gon na use, because i don't like So much water in it when i'm putting the conditioner i'm gon na use a t-shirt, it's not a towel and just dry a little bit just so it's less watery, so everything can soak in and i'm going to take my oil my hand like that. I, like a lot of oil to sit in my hair because i feel like at times like right now, since my hair hasn't been done for over a week, nor put in a protective style. It'S pretty dry right now, so i got ta make sure i get all of those foils that have been missing from my hair back in and i'm going to take this the conditioner start. I got really got to get the ends because the ends are the driest. As it's the oldest part of your hair, so i'm really going gon na try to um saturate it well and before i ordered this, i did a um. What is it a deep conditioner? I mean myself with like avocado a with all of this stuff and it worked really well too honey. So maybe i'll do a youtube video, if you guys want of me making that and putting that in my hair instead and we're just going to do the same thing, i'm going to start from the bottom and work on my way up and my scalp is already Sore because i'm very tender headed, i don't know if you guys are as well, but i'm literally very very tender and i've been combing up my hair all day um. I combed my hair some more in the shower just so it hurts less when i actually put it in a protective style. So my scalp is like hurting right now and i hate i wish i wasn't tendered because if i wasn't it would not hurt at all and it would make everything just so much easier. I wish i had literally no feeling in my scalp like i wish it was numb, but it's not so we're just making sure everything is comes through saturated. Well, i think that's pretty good and i'll put some more to really lock it in, and you want to make sure you get every part of your hair edges. You know all of that good stuff, you don't want to make sure you want to make sure everything is saturated, i'm going to twist it up because it has to be perfect literally. My parting is not perfect, like as long as everything is just done, you're good. So do that twist it up and put my clip back in and yeah. So now we're going to do the second section and do the same thing. Probably a lot of water is going to come out or maybe not this part, i probably don't. I have to dry off because it's already somewhat dry, so i'm gon na take my oil again and saturate and then after this, i'm gon na sit under the dryer for like 40 minutes and then i'm going to sit with this conditioner and probably for another hour Too, honestly, i don't um rinse my like. Whenever i do my protective style, i really don't get to finishing my hair later, because i'm just sitting around doing nothing which is not terrible, because you want to make sure everything is soaked into your hair good. But i probably won't end up rinsing the dipping the deep conditioner out for another two or three hours, but you don't have to do that. You can literally keep it in for hours, um, don't end up doing it right away, and then i get really tired and regret doing it too late, but same process. Just gon na put everything together and put it all in your hair and make sure it's all lathered up um, i'm trying to learn how to do my hair. Better literally, like don't judge me um. This is like i said also this piece here. I wanted to do story time on it, but i don't know if i should um a hairstylist rip. My hair out - and i had a big, bald spot here, so don't mind that that's my hair growing back, but it was literally like 100 bald like for real bald and it's trying to grow back so don't be like. Oh, she rips her hair out. No literally, someone ripped my hair out. That was a professional hairstylist which sucked so again don't mind that, but i'm trying to learn how to do my hair, because you know i have thick forcy hair and it's hard to deal with at times like it's very hard. It'S time consuming, i love my hair, but it can be very time consuming and i'm sure a lot of you guys, of course see here can relate to that. You know it takes literally four hours for me just to wash my hair, while other people, some other people, might take them like just an hour and they do it all at once in the shower. For me, it's definitely not like that, but that's totally. Okay. You know everyone's hair is different. Everyone'S hair is beautiful. I love my hair, so yeah mine just takes a little bit longer to do. Okay guys so i did all my hair in section so the shower cap on now, let's sit under the dryer for like 45 minutes and do nothing watch tic tocs and then, while we get some more and i will come back to you guys when actually i'll Come back to you guys after i rinse it out and then it'll be the end of the video, because then i'm going to show you the final product of my hair. So the last step of doing my hair, my mom is going to put it into box. Braids, because i just so, do you want box braids or do you want twists? I want box braids because i feel like those are easier, and i like those better all right. So i'm still doing right here after all these years, because why? Because my hair is just so much and it's too much for me to handle honestly when it comes to after washing it, because it's like a big mess and it messes it's just thick, a big mess hasn't thick and wet. So i can't do it when it's big like that, but i can do hairstyles in my hair when it's not wet, but i'm just to have her. Do it since it's easier and faster and because i have lines to go over and i'm going to be doing that, so i will show you guys when we're halfway done and then the final product soon. So i decided to go with twists after all, because if i would have done box braids, i've recently cut my hair, and my ends are just too blunt right now and when my mom twists the ends, it wouldn't stay. So we're almost done. We have this section and then we just have this one here and we are almost done. Okay, so i'm all done the products i use for my twists out are melanin by whitney. I love her products. You can tell because they're almost out. I also use her oil. Her instagram is natural, 85 and she's amazing, and also this hair oil. For my scalp, which my mom made it's a mixture of a bunch of amazing oils, but i am going to put my bonnet on. I just wash it so. My hair is like shrinking, you know it stretches, but um, i'm going to put my bonnet on and i'm going to go to bed i'm going to let it air dry, because it's not good to put a bonnet on right away and then after i let it Air dry i'm gon na go to bed, so i will see you guys right before i go to bed.

Eugenia Kelcy: Have you tried washing your hair in twists? Like chunky twist, really helps prevent tangles during washing and saves so much shedding and breakage!!! Thank you for the love

Zach M: black women’s hair is absolutely gorgeous, any texture really, because with any texture you get different styles, cuts and curls

jennifer B: she has 4b/4c hair. Stop thinking that 4c hair always has that dry, coarse, and shrunken look all the time. The appearance of the hair does not only depend on the type (4a, 4b, 4c ... etc) but also on the density, the porosity and the length. All of its parameters define what your hair looks like, so not all hair of the same type is the same!

iamnunu: i literally want Skai's hair . It's so healthy, long, and thick . I WANT IT BADDD

Hanako: She is 19 and knows how to take care of her hair. I'm almost 25 and have NO CLUE WHAT I'M DOING LMAO.

Lilli Wilson: FYI: Your texture can loosen a little as your hair gets longer. You can have long 4c hair.

neoneunnamanui special hanappuninne special: Guys her hair is 4c hair. How I know is that her hair is really similar to mine. As she said in the video, the front and back are soft, and the middle is more coarse and heavy. My hair is also like that. The only difference is that her hair is longer than mine and when the hair is longer, the curls elongate so they look more of a 4b, 4c kinda curls than when your hair is short. Also, to remind the people who are saying her hair is not 4c, please remember that her hair has in products that have been in there for over a week, so the curls are going to look more defined. And I don't get how people are saying her hair is not 4c. Do you have her hair to tell her that? If she says that her hair is 4c then it is. Respect it and don't go against it.

Arianna L Muro M: Wow! Your hair is gorgeous! I had no idea 4c hair required such detailed care, but then again what do I know... my hair is naturally straight so its very easy to manage. I’ve gained a lot of respect and appreciation thanks to this video.

Tishe Shode: To all the ppl arguing in the comments, her hair texture is 4c and is just like mine. This is what 4c hair looks like when it's long and has been stretched in case you didn't know. It's nowhere near 4b.

Cara Downey: skai, I love your final results and wow... your hair is so thick and healthy I just love it... thanks for posting and keep the hair videos coming p.s. I know you're busy with other things :-)

Jonnai Dawson: Just because her hair is long doesn’t mean she doesn’t have 4c hair- And the people that are saying she doesn’t probably just doesn’t have healthy 4c hair

Kelsey Agyarey: Everyone: My brain: gorilla glue

On the edge: Hey skai hope you doing well, I recommend switch up your hair part lines like maybe to the side instead of middle part. It looks good now but overtime the hair thins out in that arra. It's like when the middle part of your hair thins out after wearing it in a bun everyday

hair_n_stuff: Definitely 4c, looks like it's heat trained as well and possibly some 4b in the front. Lovely. my daughter is learning her hair as well.

Shanice Underwood: You have beautiful hair; it's so thick and full. And you keep doing what you are doing. It takes time to learn your hair, and I can tell from this video that you've learned a lot since you've been doing it yourself.

Mikhyah Austin: If Yall remembered how her gorgeous hair looked in Jessie yall would know she has 4c hair also as your hair gets longer it gets heavier and your curls stretch out and elongate

NessyXO: beautiful healthy 4C hair We love it !

Debbie Kerr: Hi Skai my name is Kelsie and I was as well scared to look after my hair, I do also have 4C hair so I wash my hair twice a week and keep it combed out this way my scalp is looked after by the way the days I normally wash are Sunday and the following Wednesday I like to keep the days equally apart just to give my hair a break I hoped this helped

kate lmfao: Coming from a white person, the fact that yall can manage with this is so amazing & yalls hair is gorgousss . don’t listen to the other comments girl it looks amazing .

Rosé Park: NOW I KONOW MY HAIR TYPE, lol. Our hair is exactly the same! 4c hair is so hard to take care of. You can have many different types of curls, and you have to find the right products to define the curl. And because it coils so tightly, it is often extremely dry because it's hard for the oils to spread all the way to the tips. It also shrinks...A LOT. And it takes so long to comb through. But the best part about it is you can do so many different things with it. You can twist it and then wear it twisted out, you can do an afro, you can blow it out a bit and it will hold some curl, it's really a beautiful hair type. The thing is you just really have to take time to care for it.

Eugenia Kelcy: Also your hair looks healthy, pretty and long

Annissa Charlery: I feel you on that after washing hair.. my mom still moisturizes mine after for me lool

TwistedNaturally: First of all, the girl said she had heat damage! If you've _ever_ damaged your natural hair, then you *know* that heat damage can make you hair look as if it was tex-laxed, if it is damage enough, no matter the texture. Secondly, Skai said she has her hair blown out most of the time. This is why a lot of folks don't like and subscribe to that *stupid* hair typing chart [3c, 4a, 4b, 4c etc.,]. It was not made for *_afro_* textured hair in the first place! Okay. The woman who *originally* created it, did so *_without_* including afro textured hair types in the chart. Later on, black folks added their own hair types to the chart. However, If you know about natural hair, then you know that naturals have *multi-textured* hair! Very rarely will you see any hair type with just one type of hair texture. If you think about it, there is sections of your hair that is easier to manage than other sections. Why? Because, even if it doesn't seem like it, it is a *_different_* texture than other sections of your hair or mixed with a little of a different texture. Afro hair has *_multi textures._*

ThePsychic Cass: Suggestion/Recommendation : Shea Moisture products specifically the Black castor oil products in that brand . Your welcome Skai

bryceburger: Imma leave this here: Yes, your hair gets looser as it grows, but that should mean your hair is just whatever it grows to be. I'm in a curlyhair subreddit and a NaturalHair subreddit. In there, many people say that you will be able to find your hair type more easily when it is longer since it elongates. Your hair is not 4C if it grows out into another type. For example, look at long 4C hair on Google. They still have tight curls and not 4A patterns. I know my hair type tho. I am 4A-4B with some 4C. But since my hair is thick people assume it's 4C. You have to look at the patterns in your hair. You have to experiment with products that define your hair. Like I said, if your hair grows out and looks more 4A, then it is 4A. But this is just my opinion on how to interpret the loosening. Is it loosening or is it outgrowing something that was tightening it? Either way, you actually shouldn't identify as 4C if your hair no longer looks tight since hair identification codes are about pattern. When white women have hormonal changes that makes their hair go from curly to straight, do you see them saying "I have curly hair?" No. (I only used white women as an excuse bc their hair can change from curly to straight, whereas black women's hair usually goes from coily to curly.) Also, when speaking about natural hair, we have to keep in mind gravity is natural. And it's probably the only reason everyone has certain hair types, how their strands react to gravity. For me, I know I have 4B/4A/4C (in order from most prominent to least prominent) hair. And even as I guy, I want my hair to be longer. So, if my hair morphs into a 3C, I am not gonna sit and connect myself to 4B/4A/4C anymore. But I digress. In the end, people will do as they choose. Just a reminder: 4C hair can be long, and 4C is not always thick, nappy, and unmanageable. Also, not all thick, matted, or unmanageable hair is 4C. Enjoy your hair journeys!

Wilma Van Rensburg: Y'all with straight hair don't understand the amount of time it takes to make curly hair look good like it's basically a part time job. Edit: there's been a lot of comments saying that I'm wrong and curly hair isn't a struggle and I'm just trying to make my hair look like white peoples hair you guys are wrong. Im saying that it takes a lot more time and effort for someone with curly hair to keep their hair healthy and looking the way you want it to look whether that be straightening or putting on edges.

Alexia Vence: I love your video and attitude about your hair: it's beautiful girl!! As a black teen girl myself I've never tried conditioner and shampoo at the same time so I might, but rice water as a pre-poo looks like it works to really loosen up that gel. I support you in your hair journey! Love your hair then beautiful black queen

Pinkaliscious: How’d I know I’d find y’all here

Ashley Johnson: @skai Having 6 sections in the end is fine, but you’ll shed less hair is you split your sections in half to detangle also figure out your porosity and test products out based on that! And ALWAYS deep condition with heat!

Alexis Taylor: What ever she is doing is healthy her hair is gorgeous!!!!

Stan Fatou: Having 4c hair is cool because we literally have the most different hair out of everyone. Which of course comes with its pros and cons. Edit. Ok since people want to rain on 4cs parade. Can y'all please show me where any other race has 4c hair? Uh yea u can't bc we are literally the only one's with it. And if u non black get out of your feelings just bc you feel left out.

Tiembre Matthew: This isn't a question but I remember on your YouTube video you asking for tips on your 4c hair. One thing that works for me is using warm water it helps get products to work better with my hair. I have low porosity hair so it takes a bit for my hair to take moisture so something else that I do is wet my hair with warm water and put a good amount of condition on my hair with a shower cap and leave it stay for a bit or until im satisfied with the results. . . @Melaninmookie

Deneen Gillespie: My daughter loves you. Seeing you talk about your hair, is going to resonate with her. This is going to make hair day so much easier for me!

meshelle castillo: She is so pretty. God bless her! She has beautiful eyes.

♡lynn♡: In 2019 I remember my hair was not at it's best. It was falling out in chunks and then I went to get my hair done with my grandma and the person that did it is her friend and she is super nice and she trimmed my dead ends and everything. She fixed my hair and my hair got shorter since I had that hair problem but now its grown since then I didnt expect it to grow that fast since I'm black and white people's hair grow faster unless there hair is at a really bad state. People with curly hair like me and ski and other people have more a struggle doing it but it's ok.

Elektra: I have really curly hair which is 3c and what I find good is after I wash my hair to dry it a bit with a towel and then lather it with coconut oil and put it in a plat and when I wake up it looks really healthy and helps with heat damage

thatlovelydancer Lao: My hair has adjustment issues too. Front very soft and loser curl Middle, please almost unruly but curls definition is there And back and sides, easy breezy as front. I love your hair as well. Healthy and long fluffy curls. P.S since you have healthy strong hair, you don't need rice treatments or coconut oil in your hair every wk or every 2wks because too much protein will break off the hair since the chains of protein is bigger than what our hair should take. Omino acids from Bragg's is a safe alternative for protein treatments as well

Amiya Akiya: YEAH SHES OUR FAVORITE! Way to respect our 4C HAIR SKAI! You make us PROUD to have 4C hair☺

_audi 5000_: Me having long 4c hair is a struggle but not always , my mama still do my hair and there’s nothing Wrong with that, over time my mama doing my hair at 18 years old taught me how to take care of my hair now , it’s good to have mothers that help you out

Lia Don: I love how her mom corrects her to make sure she uses more positive terms when talking about her hair

Gugu Bela: ✊My hair is finer and softer in the front too! The middle is so dense and coarse (thick individual strands) that I can't believe it's all the same head of hair. "4C" (I don't believe in hair typing) HAIR GANG!

julussy: your hair is so beautiful, Skai :3

Oratile Mafanga: You have beautiful hair, you make me excited about my own hair and I'm gonna start caring for it more

That’s So Mora: Nobody mentioned this but I wanted to say it anyway: no amount of hair growth oil will make your hair look like Skai’s before she cut it it’s genetics some peoples hair just grow naturally thick like hers so yeah have a good day

notme: This helps so much my hair is longer than my aunties they've been growing their whole life it's prolly a but longer than urs and it's 4c. I got the curls from my dad's side and boy does it hurt

LOVEKIEARAH: am i the only one that has 4c hair & never combs it? i just brush it up and put my little ponytail in, the only time i comb it is if i wash my hair and style it, i heard it’s bad to comb/ brush your hair while it’s dry so i never do that, and combing my hair while it’s dry hurts sooo bad & my hair is mostly dry

Taliq Perry: I fw how humble she is she is probably if not the biggest,,,she is one of the biggest Disney actors and seems like doesn’t act hollywoood at all..

animalmini1: I like to dampen my hair with rice water .. then apply coconut oil first root to to tip .. olive oil root root to tip .. then black castor oil root to tip .. I put on a shower cap and a heat cap that I wear for no less than 15 minutes.. the longer the better .. then I do a light wash .. after the light wash (sheamoisture coconut shampoo right now, but I use any shampoo) .. after the wash your hair should be moisturizer and super soft.. you can leave it like that.. or go further like me and add flaxseed Gel mixed with castor oil root to tip .. my hair loves this .. all my oils come from a natural food store or grocery store.. and I normally once a week wash my hair with apple cedar vinegar right on the scalp and massage it in .. I use the shampoo if my hair is dirty or if I have to clean the oils out only .. I dry mt hair with jersey knit t shirt material or microfiber only

James: Skai these ppl are really getting mad over YOUR hair lmao.

Nalzy M: looking forward to more hair content

Pretty princess girl Girly girl: Im 8 and have 4C hair and my mom makes sure m6 hair stays healthy and it’s kinda like your routine

Kathy Flemmings: You are so adorable and your hair is beautiful

Breona Warren: This is probably controversial but I really don’t care: I don’t care for typing hair ‍♀️. Your hair is your hair & people will always have something to say. By typing your hair you just giving people another thing to talk about- example: this comment section. Some saying its 4a and others say 4b whatever any of this means. I never sat down and was like I have xyz123 hair- I wash my hair and style it. When i get it done at a salon they just do it and go on. I’m not oblivious to different hair textures, but typing it and labeling does nothing but further divide people

Oyin and FJ: For people saying she does not have 4C hair because it is long...... My hair was so long and it was 4C but I cut it and now my hair is growing longer and longer. I can tell if you straightened Skai’s hair it would be pretty long. 4C hair just looks shorter than it is because of the very tight curls.

jaelynn hughes: I don't know if you heard of this or not Skai. its called Gliss its a shampoo and conditioner and also Cantu Avocado Hair Gel its very good for black or biracial hair I use it quite often and it helps so much.

Danneigh Heart🤍: Skai hair is so long absolutely Gorgeous✨

lesedi Otukile: Ohh my goodness I love your hair, it looks beautiful

Keirah Jones: Link to the brush? I’m so tender headed this looks like an absolute NEED!

Cheyenne Salyers: I've been wanting to try rice water forever just to see if it works Beautiful hair loved the video ! :)

Suicidal Thots: Her hair is literally goals

ThatOneNiggaYoshi: You should use blue magic instead if gel. Gel gets caked up and nasty. Grease tends to make your hair shine, and smells pretty good most of the time, it also don't get crusty, it either disappears or it stays there and you hair gets greasy. Grease just feels better to wash out.

Madison Elizabeth: When she said “I use to much gel” I felt that on a very spiritual level

Tamia Lewis: Pretty hair, Clear skin

Gerri Miller: Hey gorgeous your hair routine is on firelove itplz tell us what is that pink brush is called? Lord knows my 4b hair needs it

Fabian Smith: Extremely beautiful love it

Nayachi 💕: Love you hair sis(try not to comb from your root. Comb from the tip of your hair and work your way up ⬆️)

Zaria Elizabeth: Pro tip: •know your hair texture & porosity •protective styles...there are natural hair styles that are protective styles •Deep condition before your next protective style •oil your hair then leave it alone!! (I know some people don’t like this but...to each their own) Note: not all oils promote hair growth. Some oils seal while some penetrate. Many will not work if your hair is dry. It will seal in the dryness!! •Don’t just wash your hair, massage your scalp •cold water when washing •Trim damaged ends when needed...some people say you’re supposed to get a trim every 6-8 weeks but if you don’t need it don’t do it Reminder: your hair grows from the root not the ends...there is no way to “rejuvenate” or “save split and damaged ends. •Do length checks less often so you can see more drastic changes...(that’s what I do but again...to each their own) •Take vitamins if needed. •If you take birth control then pay attention to side effects. Some medications can cause hair loss. •wash your hair less often. •check your the “ingredients” of your product. *brands make more money if your hair stays damaged. Check for alcohols in conditioners and leave in products! •I do not know that much about chemical treatments on hair but from research that I’ve done...you have to keep up with the treatments and be more sensitive with your hair. Again I don’t know much because I barely scratch the surface on that but...yeah

Matrix: Hey Skai. You are probably a bit too busy to see this comment, and I don’t really know when this vid was made but anyways.. Have you tried using a hot comb? It makes coming natural 4c hair much easier, and makes your hair puffy and soft.
