Hi guys it's Lana here, welcome back to today, I'm gon na show you guys how to do one. The best braids and two, the best braids out of your life, is gon na, be so easy after this video you're going to know how to do braids and you're gon na know how to smash it. So let's go okay. So here's a thing: if you want to just have braids it doesn't really matter. If you start on wet hair or dry hair cuz, you can do a good, a braid, a good cornrow on wet or dry hair. But if you want to be able to wear those super cute curls, those waves that you get with a braid out is best to start a wet hair cuz. The amazing thing about wet hair is that it kind of just molds into whatever position that it dries in some styling on wet hair, I've just washed it all. I did with shampoo and condition. Then I went in and I applied some hydrating Kool Kreem, because if you're gon na wear this style for a while, you want your hair to stay hydrated. The worst thing is: if you're gon na do a bomb protective hairstyle I kiss and then not even moisturize. Your hair are you're just gon na leave your hair and brace for a week with no moisture. Are you trying to try it out like the desert? No, no make sure you get that on the ends. That'S the most important parks. The ends are the flats that dry out the most I'm gon na. Take my Denman brush and I'm just gon na work that product through make sure there's no tangles in your hair and another tip is to maybe not do this on soaking wet hair. It helps if your hair's wet, but you know if it's still dripping and that's too wet, look at that. Look at that. That'S just my! So do you want to have it right on the middle? Do you want to do like a side thing? I pretty much told myself everything about her, but I still remember this. My mom taught me to just do a middle part from here from your nose and just take it up and that's where we're gon na start. So I'm going to use one more brush to help me with styling today and it's this hair styling brush from lee stafford. It has these thick bristles that it can really get into the hair and just smooth everything out. It also has these longer ones which really just help with styling, and you know, fixing up the braid, see how I guess how smooth it gets. Everything look at that. Imagine the sleek hairstyles Philip shinee's from Long Island you're going to need to put one side to the side. I usually just wrap mine into a bun, this kind of stops it from getting in your way and also stops it from drying out because it will take longer to dry if it's wrapped into a bun like this. If you just leave it out, it will start drying and you're gon na have to get it wet against one on my scrunchie from my brand hichi is gon na just sit on there like that, then you're gon na need one more thing. The first thing is: gon na be some kind of setting jail setting cream one that I love to use since day. One we never do a braid out twist out anything is the smooth and hold pudding. This is from ORS. So it's like super thick. Where did my door just random it open? Oh, it smells good, it smells fresh. It smells like if it tastes good, so we're just gon na run that through the head, I brush it through to make sure it's evenly dispersed, because you don't want some patches that have got a lot on and some patches that don't have any on. And then your results are gon na, be inconsistent and you're gon na have some bits, frizzy and some bits of mortified. So just make sure you don't miss this step out. I decided to go one step further for the purposes of this video to show you guys, because I have black hair and it's kind of hard to see. What'S going on honestly, hair tutorials were easier. When I had blond highlights, should I go back to my blonde highlighted a mofo Jang hair coloring wax this one is in the shade gold, so it was close to blond as they do so. I'M gon na put it all up with this on my hair so that you guys come full of action. Okay, so now we're really gon na start, braiding I'll even put the time stamp myself rush it like this, because you know sometimes you take a clump of hair and the way that it clumps kind of makes it look like you've got bored patches and stuff, but If you do this, as far as you can kind of avoid it, you can kind of avoid the bald patch look. Take a section of hair from the very very front start as early as possible. To hope that this hair paint wax is helping leave a comment from me. Tell me: does this hairpin wax help you way that you do a braid is you'll constantly bring in pieces of hair into the middle and they have to go either over or under. So for this kind of cornrow you're going to take out under the middle section, this is the middle section, this one. This is the middle section, so you're going to pick an outliar. It comes under the middle section and it becomes the middle section. So then you take the next side and you take it under the new middle section, and now that becomes the new middle section and then you take this one and you go under the middle section and eventually you'll just get a hand for it. Anyways keep doing it now after we've done a couple of times now we're gon na start taking pieces of hair into the middle section with the outside piece, so we're just gon na grab a piece hair. Take it with us now this big chunk now, it's all part of the middle section I just kind of hook it. I just leave it there because now we're gon na work on this piece and you're gon na take the next some lice of hair, like this, that comes with this. It comes into the middle section, goes like this. You see how this could like become a bald spot. We don't need that in our life. So take your styling comb just make sure you just brush it out, make sure you keep its higher. Don'T let it slip, don't let it come loose, don't like any bubbles form going like sort of curving around the ear. It starts to get a bit tricky. So this it's not lose sight of the end goal here. I don't want it to start coming down here. I want to keep it on top of my head, so have to be really careful once you get here. Almost there guys almost done, keep it going. Keep it tight and I used to have this habit of just keeping it going right down here, but that kind of makes it look loose and sloppy. So if you have the last bit like this, just take the whole thing and put it in there with that. Last bit, you don't need to have it like dragging on looking baggy onto the ends once you get to about here. You can just kind of brush it through and make sure it's as smooth as it can, because that's really gon na help you with the braids out at the end. You just leave it like that, where you can tie it up, I tend to just leave them because they just stay through. If you want your hair to be super defined super sleek at the end of all. This then put a bit more if you want to have a bit more volume, a bit more puffiness to your hair after then use a bit less. Let'S take. Some of them must be getting old, okay, so there you have it. That is how I get my braids to look like this. It'S actually really easy when you get the hang of it, which I promise you will, if you just keep practicing, nobody was born being able to braid. It just takes practice and patience as with most things that are worth knowing. So I really like it when my braids kind of come in at the back they're really tight at the back, so it kind of cinches in here and just keeps my face. Looking like tight - and I feel like, if you end up with your braids sort of creeping to the front here - that's how it looks like I do our way it looks like you do it yourself, whereas if you can keep it kind of tight at the back, Then it kind of looks like maybe you had it done professionally or somebody else did it for you. So that's how I do mine so now you're ready. You can go out with your hair like this, and I just wanted to give you some tips for how to have this when you go to bed and everything like that, you're gon na want to make sure that you sleep with some sort of satin bonnet or A do-rag just to keep everything, neat and tidy. You want this to last right. You didn't just do all this for one day, did you just sleep with something like this? You know just to preserve the style get the most out of it, make it last as long as possible without getting all frizzy and raggedy. This is how I'm gon na sleep tonight, but right now, I'm going out. So all of you back in a couple of days to show you the braid out Ola, is LDRs of me wearing the braids. So it's time to take them out. But I just want to pause the video for a second to congratulate you guys on taking the step in 2020 to learn a new skill. I think it already takes a lot for you to search and click on a video about learning how to do. Braids perfectly. Might I add, you know actually implementing it actually trying to do it so massive congrats to you and you might have noticed - I've also been speaking a little bit of Spanish here and there throughout this video, which I don't normally do, but I've actually been trying to Pick up a new skill myself, which is to work on my Spanish and my Korean and my illustration and everything, and it's all been made really easy by using some tools which I'm gon na share with you guys right now, so I've been using Skillshare, which is A online learning community for creative and curious people, there's tons of classes on that from photography, editing, illustration, languages, interior design, anything you can think of. I'Ve been loving it. I'Ve already learned so much and they had like this funky little song for me to learn Spanish with then I'm mostly male that are mostly male. Lo siento there are not showing mala, so I will. Oh, I'm so happy that I'm able to extend that offer to you guys, because I think learning is so important and the fact you even watching this video shows me you think it's important as well so click the link in the description. If you don't want to miss out and let's get going vamos so it's time to take your braids down, there is a bit of a technique to this. It'S not very difficult at all. It just means being very gentle and just trying not to rip through your hair. It depends like how frizzy you want your hair to be, but I'm really just going to start from the bottoms cuz I mean. Obviously you can't just look like this. I don't know who would try and do that, I'm sure there's somebody out there. That'S tried to do that before, but generally just unravel the braids and as you go down you're going to want to feel inside a mixture, it's dry. Like so say, if you were doing this day after you did it, it might not be dry yet, and if you want the clothes be perfect, they have to be a hundred percent dry, the manager. I because it's been like two or three days go through and unravel. Oh look at them, no siree, so some tombow ethos means the causes are pretty new metal does and it's so easy. Yes, I feel don't make tangles as you go down. Muy bonito. I love it right now. You can't tell me nothing. It'S kind of ruffle things at the root of that get some volume in there and just separate some of these curls up. Cuz they're gon na look a bit unnatural if they're all clumped together, exactly as they were in the braids, so just kind of be a bit gentle cuz. We don't need to be creating any frizz out here. We just want to be making things look more natural. This might be the best braid out I've done in a minute. If you leave too many pieces clumped together, where they kind of don't belong, you're more likely to get tangled. So it is a good idea just to separate things and just kind of get them back to their original space. It'S pretty right. You might need to go in with a afro comb or something just to get rid of that part and get things looking a bit more natural. Your hair is now all curly and wavy and the perfect braid out. So how can you make it even more perfect? Take some kind of foil or like Sheen, like perfecting machine. This one is the dazzle drops by lee stafford. It'S the cactus crush tassel drops, so you just take something onto your ends. Okay, there is so just take someone to your hands like this. You wrap that together smooth that through for some extra shine look, so that's how you get the perfect braids and the perfect braid out. I really hope you guys enjoyed the video and learn something and if you want to keep on learning, then don't forget. Lana Summer: ✨So now you know how to braid, wanna try TWISTING?? I just uploaded a tutorial ➡️ https://youtu.be/GWTl7EoKX8Q

ciara: I have curly hair like you and sometimes even struggle to put it in a pony tail. You show me it is possible to tame my hair. Thank you so much.

tuna tuna: i usually dutch braid my hair overnight but they never turn out as curly as yours your hair is soo pretty !! edit: i have curly hair too please stop suggesting that that's the reason!! thank you

Zarah T: No matter how many videos I watch I can still never do it anyone wanna do it for me Cause I give up

Katie Kat: This is the only tutorial that I’ve watched that DOESN’T make doing your braids look like a headache

Rio Coucou: When I do braids they are super cute on the moment but when they dry they just shrink and become super short and ugly

masterhide: I'm already pretty good at this but I still learned a lot from your video!! I love the placement and how you said to not bring the braid all the way down. Makes so much sense! Beautiful hair btw!

Shanice Williams: What do you do about your ends to keep them nice and curly when you take out the braids? I always get this weird crimp because of the elastic so my ends looks stretched out and weird

Selena101 Q: you will be happy to know that out of all the tutorials I have watched, yours is the one I learned the most from and actually got to accomplish this hairstyle

Adrianna De C: Yasss. I needed this video. My braids are rarely sleek so now imma try and make sure my braids and braid outs look like this especially cos my hair is similar to yours

a: I swear you have the best curls on YouTube I could never!

Amber Alexis💕: I always wear french braids on wet hair, and then go to sleep...and in the morning I take it out! I love to do this if I'm going to school the next day so I don't have to spend A LOT of time on my hair.

Ashley Marie: I personally learned how to cornrow with YouTube tutorials, and I think what gets people confused is how to arrange the pieces of hair whilst braiding, I remember always getting my pieces tangled and giving up out of frustration. My tip is: practice. Practice when you’re just sitting at home, no rush, take as much time as you need. You will naturally become faster and faster until you can do it under 2 minutes. You can do it y’all!! Also study how and where she is placing the pieces of hair when she’s braiding and when she’s just holding them, study how she picks up the hair to add to the other sections. That was personally what I had to master braiding.

neoya neoya: I've watched so many videos on how to braid hair and omg you're the only person that actually taught me how to do them ily lana ❤️

Shannon: Make sure you don’t part down the back, leave it super messy when your split it in two that way it will all fall together once you take the braids out

WordsFlowMagnetic: GIRL you and your golden wax are MIRACLE WORKERS. Do you know how many tutorials I've watched again and again without learning how to Dutch braid? I watched this once, and did my first Dutch braid EVER. Took it out,, watched at again, and now I have two great Dutch braids. I LOVE you fr!!!!!

Alex Thomas: omg!!! i’ve never braided on my own hair before, and i’ve went along in the vid and copied it and i did it thank youuu!!❣️

Luciana S: ive watched like A MILLION tutorials and this is the one that actually taught me how to do it!!!

Zulaikha Yaseen: If I had your curls, I’d have everything

Gia The Sweet Potato: Hey, isn't this technique essentially the same as a Dutch braid? I couldn't really see what you were doing clearly, but I know that in a Dutch braid you also fold the hair under the middle section. Btw I have straight hair and this actually works great as a heatless curling method!

Kirtika Pant: You explain so well ! Like I just saw 100's of videos on this still didn't get how to do this braid thankew so much ❤❤

Marianellyy Diaz: Omg sooo beautiful !!!! Have to try this on my curls forrrr sure

S H: Omgggg for the first time ever, I did it. It was barely there tbh and only on the front sections of my hair but it was defo there even if it was slight and I only did it like 3 times. I'm so happy, this gave me hope that I can do so I'm gonna keep practicing till I can do it well eventually. Thank you so much lana !! <3

Nadya Karpova edits: I like messy buns and usually braid my hair before the next day to get curly hair. Keep in mind that I have extremely straight hair. I usually braid my hair in small sections and tie it at the back of my neck and sleep with it. When I wake up I apply hairspray and some gel and tie it up. Depending on how thick your hair is the way you’ll have to tie your hair and treat it will be different but try different methods and you’ll find the solution that fits your hair type. Everyone can get some sexy curls if they find the best way to treat their hair.

Rania Asad: oml dont go back to blonde ur hair color is beautiful!!

Maricela Ascencio: Fue un vídeo fascinante, eres asombrosa Gracias my hair is quite curly and I'm struggle a lot making myself a braid. By the way your spanish is awesome.

Amal 3bro: Who else loves her pep talk before we start and actually makes me think I can do it but when I try I cant

Cora Danae H.: The smaller the sections you pick up the more professional and neat itll look and the tighter that waves youĺl get

I'm indigenous Girl: Makes me wanna braid my hair now

Gribeldy Núñez: Love you !!!!! Just watched the video one time and actually understood. I did it. Not the perfect braids but is my first time ….They are actually pretty cute !!

forrestgum15: El mejor video que he visto en largo tiempo. Definitivamente voy a probar si me sale la trenza. Gracias por motivarnos a aprender algo nuevo. New subscriber Ps. Tu español va muy bien

Michelle Kiewitz: Ms. Summer summer time ! I've been doing these braids for the past 3 weeks!!! I'm so disappointed after a few days when it starts looking like they need to come out or redone I couldn't braid like this to save my life!!! After watching this video, I could!! So 3 weeks later I just came to say thank you very much! Keep up your amazing videos !!! ❤

SailorSpaceJam: When I take my braids out, my hair always gets tangled and dry. Maybe it’s because I leave my braids on for too long. I’m afraid to put my hair in a ponytail of just let it down because it tangles very easily.

Lola Poente: For everyone struggling doing french braids and dutch braids: put your wet hair on high ponytail and do 2 separate braids the effect is the same

Faith H: The thing is I do my braids they looks frizzy and have a lot of fuzzes but when my friend does it for me it looks smooth and perfect idk why

I guess my question is if your hair ever looks less bouncer or curly? I really want to dye my hair but scared it will damage my curls. I love my curls don't want them to go away. ( I don't even use a brush for the same reason of losing my curls) advice .

Hustle Lady: Ah, your eyes look brilliant! Can ypu please so a beginner's eye makeup tutorial?

Star M: Hello! I am Mexican and have been doing these kind of braids “trenzas” my whole life. I heard her say “corn row” and thought, oh then I guess this video isn’t for me. Until I kept watching and noticed that’s my exact routine. The point of all this, is I’m wondering if I should continue doing my braids like this knowing it’s actually corn rows. I feel ashamed, to be quite honest. I feel embarrassed to not have known I’ve been doing corn rows my whole life, or at least similar. My hair is dark black curly and super thick. My mom would braid my hair all the time and taught me. So, I guess I can’t really blame myself. But I’m wondering if I continue to do my braids like this, is it okay or is it bad? I’m sorry, I really didn’t know and I feel so bad.

Aury Cucci 02: I found your video scrolling the others, but you help me with my curly hair, thank you so much

Regilane Marques: Eu amei ❤

Zahara Miller: I’ve been practicing Dutch braids all day and still haven’t done them

Mia Villella: 1:14 "are you trying to dry it out like the desert?" michael scott: "NO! NO!" lmaooo

Justina Jed: Instead of leaving them in for like 3 days can I just leave them overnight and blow dry the braids in the morning to speed up the drying process?

Rameen: I CANNOT do these braids no matter what I try, One second im determined to make it look pretty and the next second my arms are killing me :( Any advice/solution??

Kiyah Davis: When you add more hair do you add it to the middle section or the side section?

saraaveiro: When I do this one side of my hair usually turns out curlier than the other , I’m doing this again and I have school tomorrow so I’m hoping it will end up decent

Hack Battle: What happens if I skip the french braid part and just start braiding from the nape down?

Kcween Diann: My hair is naturally thick and wavy , when i braid mines in the same way it gets alot of volume but looks cute.

Siya Khanna: The resulting curls are amazing

Sofia Sosa: Sorry Lana I tried it took over three +++ hours my braiding did not come close. You are a truly a professional . The good news is that I learned the concept of braiding I took portion of my hair resolved braiding each part. Result F- the good news I understood the concept. Now I will take a break, my arms are very tired and head is dizzy from looking in the mirror from braiding. I will practice more next week. Uuhhfff! I am exhausted...
