Hi, my name is Tracy Ballard, celebrity hairstylist and owner of crock by Tracy Bohlen, today I'll be showing you how to style short hair for black women. Now my model today has already been washed and set I'll, be applying a dime sized amount of biosilk running it through her hair and I'll, be using a one-inch flat iron and a quarter inch flat iron and some hairspray now using a tail comb. I will section off her hair curling it in a clockwise direction. Now you should be sectioning off your pieces like slices of cheese. It works better that way and it makes the hair fall nicely, really thin slices going clockwise now, when using the flat iron just glide the flat line, glide the hair right through the flat iron, don't bend it under, but just glide it right through, and the hair Will place, as you can see like I said part, the hair and cheese slices and just glide. It will start to give you the nice feather effect on the hair. Now don't be alarmed if at the bottom hairs, because they tend to be a little shorter for out of the Flatiron, just go back into that small section and slice it just a little smaller. Now, when you get right to above the eyebrow, you want to stop right there and stop going clockwise. Now, on the other side, you're going to go counterclockwise doing the same cheese slicing method, which is the opposite direction after you've done with the back. The back would look similar to this, giving the whole hair a nice bump. You use, minimal spray and you'll have great bounce and balance all around there, and that is a great hairstyle for african-american short hair. Thank you. I'M Tracy Valli
