Have you ever actually touched a black woman's hair? Let me say I don't think I've actually touched a met. Yes, actually I don't room, I don't think so. It'S going to be interesting um. I have generally no idea what I'm doing. I'Ve never done a woman's hair before in my life, but I mean you know, look at these hands. I have the real hands. The Sean said he had the hands. These hands are the real hands. So I'm ready I'm ready to do this, like I always want to do my friends, hair Ian. Do you like just play in here? I love here, but of course like no one. Let you do that because it's kind of creepy kind of weird so think I'm going to do pretty for later, be perfectly honest. Realistically up, I do okay, I'm going to do pretty good produce. One of those timeless you know, looks that you know it's going to be talked about for the Aged. My name is sherry and I'm with la creme beauty studio, and I am a maven stylist, so doing black hair is really challenging. These are men, see us. Do it, or some men might see us, do it or see us wearing ourselves, but they don't know all the work that goes into doing them, so I'm really excited to see what they make of their tools and the products that we have for them today. Good luck, guys Edge's must be laid at all times. It'S never a game. You can't go out of the house without having your edges laid, lay the wig all right. This is super important because we will have in a day and time where wigs are looking fleeky. Like a flea, kiwis, base-5, okay, cool the oldie but goodie and a favorite of all black women, is it anything like braiding cornrows by far has to be one of the hardest and most challenging styles do ready to do it? Alright, how to lay your edges? My mom to watch this again, No okay, Wow, I mean she's - throws it on the head. All right, I'm ready, so I guess the crooked, the better, the more crooked, the better, so welcome to deeper lon. You don't! I think it's you hooked over to the space plan. It'S a different kind of wig there's no elastic first thing I need is. I need some bleach, some scissors and lighter somebody. Please let me know if I'm pulling too harder, hey where's the toothbrush. They had a toothbrush in the video in the video they had a pooper. Okay, we don't have a toothbrush, so I might have to just go. I don't think I'm gon na be getting much at the tip. What'S the dip, that was our strong. This is a hard little bottle boy little finger. Oh this stuff's hard. I thought it was like soft. Is that horribly wrong? She wouldn't that their heads high - let's see no, it's not alright. How low I got! I got I somehow for now, but I think it's cuz. I was trying to add to one. So I'm just am I supposed to like do all the stuff to it. No, I got you look. You got ta, wait to the end. It'S gon na be a masterpiece. You know I'm a software developer, so like I get, we can get carpal tunnel, I'm sure stylists get similar things. It'S a lot of. You know finger dexterity and that would be a very tiring and I, like totally make sense that they get paid, and maybe you know maybe maybe they should get more weight yeah. It was way harder than I thought it was gon na be yeah. I mean what just the hair was wasn't doing. What I thought it was gon na do so much deeper appreciation for what you know what these men and women do in the salon every single day. I already have a deeper appreciation, because I don't that I could do be a stylist. You know I take years and years for me to even be close to all the many stylists that you know mess with hair now so kudos to them. They do a great job. I definitely have a deeper appreciation for stylist I mean I've always had a really deep appreciation for them. They'Re, just like you come in, they make you look beautiful. To make everybody look. Beautiful is their job to just make. People look good. So I think that's really important. I think all the guys did a good job overall, some do better than others, and I hopefully they have a new appreciation for what it's like to do. Black hair hope you guys had a fun time watching that hilarious video thanks for watching and please be sure to subscribe to the Maven youtube channel for more videos like this

Wonderful World of We: You did the white guy dirty by letting him do cornrows. I can't even do cornrows. I let my mom do them and I'm an adult, paying my bills, lmao.

Mz Kegz: how they do the white boy like that lmao I can't even cornrow myself, I'm patiently trying

Teeswrld: Why was cornrows an option, that was so mean

Panini Wasteland: Awwww the white guy seemed super discouraged at the end of the video. It's okay my dude, I'm a black girl and I could never understand how to cornrow. It's okay.

As Told By Kira: I felt so bad for the white guy. I can't even do cornrows

Lyn Allure: LOL They played the white boy for giving him cornrows hahah

Madison Rothschild: "Edges must be laid at all times." Says the girl with unlaid edges...

Krystal Favourite: "laying edges is a necessity" nooo dear. I was actually told by my cousin that she lays her edges cuz it makes her look mixed, and thats why i should do it too. Nah. i like my nappy edges thank you

Demi Goddess: Why didn't they give him a toothbrush?

Amiya Ashanti: HOW YALL GON GIVE THE AWKWARD WHITE GUY CORNROWS

JANELINE HAYES: This is sweet. All the guys had a great attitude and showed respect for what it entails when doing black hair. I being a black woman would definitely let anyone of them try to do my hair. Kudos for everyone having fun! Can we all just have more fun discovering one another?!?! Life is too short so lets laugh and learn together about what we don't know about each other.

Michelle Tabisz: I have a deep respect for hairstylists in general, but black hairstylists and just girls getting their hair done I worship you because of your patience and tolerance for pain. I'm very tender headed and I've helped take out weave once and my own scalp hurt by the end because it's a lot. I know its just normal for you and you do it every day and have been your whole life, I just truly think the work that you do is incredible. Much love <3

KF15: The white guy was so shy and awkward that's was actually so cute hahaha

Ronson Peters: It would be interesting to see white stylists do black hair

wander tubeson: so Darrin can watch my daughter and I know she will be fine bcz the space buns were on point! shout out to Greg for saying we stylist should be paid more!

Jenny O.: Cool vid, but why must edges be laid at all times? Some of us dgaf

Aya Dassai: why the Asian and white guy get the hardest hair styles tho

Christina: Those space buns were lowkey hella cute!

peanutjelly: It would have been interesting to have the guys style naturally-textured hair, like kinky or coily hair.

gigglyfitzgirl: I'm black and I just learned how to do cornrows...took me 6 months to really get the hang of it. There was no way that dude was gonna get it down in a day. lol

chevon1920: Poor white guy, how the hell was he going to do cornrows, lol

Sophy Bee: can you maybe do a white women do black women's hair? that'd be so interesting to see!!

JustLynn2015: ummm is the asian guy single though.... *cough* *cough*

dreamergirlbaby: Lmao I do feel bad for the white guy also. I cannot even cornrow myself!!

MooMilkMilk: Duude I went to a hair salon this wednesday to get my hair bleached. But they only had white girls working at the salon. And mind you, my hair is 3c/4a down to the middle of my back. This tiny cute little white girl had to comb allll my hair out from root to end before she could bleach it. Bruh it took an hour lmao she even had to get another person to help her I felt so bad for her but I had to contain my laughter She did a good job though she was very gentle barely took any hair out. Kudo's to her

Cassie Best Ever!: I don't get the hype over layed edges

Autumn Asters: I have to admit that when I saw the tittle I Was ready to go in, but after watching the video I have to say that I was very pleased with the amount of respect in which this challenge was treated. l love how rather than making a festivity of the false notion that our hair is unruly and odd, the participants were respectful, and focused on their appreciation for the effort that we put into our hair

Leah Beth: Damn the white guy got the cornrows

Love Billy: The bearded guy was so sweet. Good for you Glenn Coco. You go Glenn CoCo!

NATure’s Finest: If nothing else was learned, that sweet guy with the beard is going to know those are cornrows and not boxer braids. Team guy in grey and the Asian persuasion

digthewarmth: I really wanted them to work with natural hair, and wet it, maybe do twist outs. I want to see their reaction when they find that water makes it soft and stretchy.

Cris: Loved this video!!! Funny, sweet, cute, and professionally made! New subbie!

Melody Brown: Man natural kinky hair just look so much more better

Salone Sis: I mostly don't go out with me edges laid and my hair looks fine. No one has died looking at unlaid edges. Ugh.

Taylor Karei: The computer tech actually did pretty good for his first try tho it kind of looked like a cornrow lmaoooo it took me forever to learn so it's okay

CTokyo X: The dude who did the space buns was really good and the Asian guy is just plain

Melanie V: "The hair just wasn't doing.. what I thought it was gonna do." Me too. Every morning.

Sungie C: Now they know olive oil edge control does not lay natural hair edges

Vanessa Reda: Why'd they give the white boy the cornrows? I can't even do cornrows myself

Ms. Moto: I would love to be in an experiment like this ad thick as my hair is. I would be cracking up the entire time

Alexandra Garcia: i dont lay my edges...

LG Hakubi: I feel like the difficulty level was a little skewed. Cornrows vs making puffs, laying edges and putting on a wig? How about washing, detangling, and style natural hair? Would take some trust on the model's part but would be a total learning exp for the guys

Tiff'sTravels2012: That Asian guy is cute. Heyyyyy

doji: I'm very emotional at the fact this woman said I'm not allowed to go outside without buying and applying gel to my hairline and brushing it backward. Thats not fair. What did I do? Why does it upset people? Explain scientifically how this can negatively effect people?

Alana Melissa: this was so funny! loved watching it

LAtttiful: I was disappointed when the guys got "lay edges" or "put on a wig" I wanted to watch them struggle doing natural hair.

Valencia: I hollered when the guy laying the edges said "they had a tooth brush in the video", "where is the tooth brush at ?''.

Angie Adwoa: lay your edges if you wanna lay them, or don't lay them... It really doesn't matter. I personally don't because my egdes come right back up lol

Kay Monet: Fun video. I need to do something like this on my channel just for fun. I wonder if my husband can do my natural hair? Hmmmm??????

TaylorTV: Aww they were too cute! The Asian guy and the black guy in the gray shirt.....

HappyToBeHere: I loved this and thank you. Us, stylist definitely can develop carpal tunnel due to repetitive motions, especially braiders.

Unapologetically Zee: Ok yes, wasn't too happy about the title. Thought this was another Buzzfeed disaster. I must say though... the asian guy...he got a social media account I can follow. Or a name and number I can contact him? He can practice on my head!

Arielle: I was just like ol'boy with the edge laying challenge when I opened my first edge control gel. I just thought it was going to be thicker than normal, soft still, but not hard af! I used it maybe twice and have thoroughly ignored it since for over a year. I might as well get a perm if I feel obligated to have edges THAT controlled .

AGuyanese Bahamian: Man yall low key set Greg up

TXejas19 TXejas19: ugh i wish wigs and weaves weren't synonymous for black women's hair. whatever, cool video. i wish they all would have had the chance to see real black hair

angelstar969: "The hair wasn’t doing just what I thought it would do.” Story of my life EVERY SINGLE MORNING! lmao! :)

frank spence: Great video - good job! Breaking down the barriers between people!

Koriander Yander: This reminds me of that time I let the guys in my class paint my nails. It was hilarious to watch. One of them was dotting the paintbrush on my nail, talking about he's creating texture on my nails, like texture on a ceiling wall. The paint on my nails was all lumpy, and he said it was unique because none of the other girls were going to have textured nails Yes they were straight, and both of them had a crush on me. They were so proud of themselves, I just let them have their moment. I wore my nails like that all day

Kimberly lusby: This was such a cute video..

SPEAKSis!: I LOVE how empathetic the software developer was to the natural hairstylists and the labor that really goes into doing the styles like his

-92-: I absolutely loved this video. I LOVE braiding! It was funny watching the white boy attempt it.

Maima J: Thanks for this because people think doing hair is a Hobby.Love it

Leiloni: the guy with the beard said maybe stylist should be paid more like noooooooo its already hard enough for me to find a GOOD natural hair stylist who won't charge me an arm and a leg for a simple wash and trim smh lollll but this video was soooo funny lol

Mo Mo: I have a hard time doing my own hair. This was so adorable

Simone Elizabeth: plz do this as a nail stylist version! that would great to watch!

Moni: I thought laying the edges and putting on the wig would be the easiest but the way he laid the edges had me dead

Dea’Shinique Ramsey: I dont lay edges I don't wear wigs in fact I am one of the most lazy naturals I know

Shingai Chikwanda: lol last time i checked, leaving the house without having your edges lay-ed wasn't a tragedy

eat my blue jeans: Mothers are the bomb at natural hair, no questions asked

Masterpsflood: I will never understand how people like the laid edges look, I feel like it just looks greasy and wet

NoRae Song: lol i have never cringed so hard in my life. poor greg lmfao! I taught my fiance how to do my hair lol. we met in 4th grade and started dating in 8th grade. I told him he's been around this long he might as well know how to do it.

Bri: I love how genuine they were lol

fe: I learnt how to do cornrows in hairdressing [although they literally just taught the method, I;d have loved to know more about how to do a full head correctly but they used it more to see if you could do them and in a time efficient way, neatly] anywho, my teacher said I was one of the top in my class for them along with someone else they can be fiddly but as long as you coordinate how you're holding the hair you get into a rhythm though I always worried that I would pull too tightly even though you obviously needed to maintain good tension, luckily no one complained even when I asked aha I think the guy's problem here was that he took his section of hair so it went really far back even on the first braid so couldn't really even see what he was doing, he didn't seem to do much looked like he restarted a lot and likely also was scared of pulling tight great for trying though aha, I'd have loved to see all of them try them (:

hyacinthdibley: Give them any type 4 hair and watch them all faint.

Embrace with Christina: I already have a man, but that asian dude is bae for somebody! Lol

Mellow Martita: He put SOOO much edge control on that girl

Dionna Carter: My mom just put cornrows in my hair and I can vouch that they are hard to do and it HURTS getting them done.

Dove Danielss: This is an exceptional video. Hope you don't mind me doing a reaction video to this as a professional hairstylist. thank you...

Nyierra Goodwin: Stylist: "edges must be laid" Me: " your ended aren't even laid

8DAndi: The Asian Dude thouh. But like seriously

Faith Atkins: OMG the least confident person got the hardet style. This was so cute and funny. I loved it.

Milani Morales: Super cute video! It's funny when he said the hair wouldn't do what he wanted it to do. Like story of our life!

roquell98: well the girl with the wig doesn't really count for this challenge.

Queen LeLe: You dont need to lay down your edges or put gel on it for it to be acceptable ! She clearly doesnt know what she is talking about . Every black women doesn't lay down their edges .

Cameron Edwards: The man laying the edges had me in actual TEARS.

SparklyRabit: "edges must be laid at all times" that is too much work tbh.

everything goes: In love with those Space Buns ♥️

KONOHA RAMEN EATER: My momma been doing hair for six girls for 30 years, we all grown up now. Yet we still go to her house and ask to do our hair, and cornrows... GOOD LORD!! Those took TOO MUCH time, but at the end. My hair turn out beautiful ASF

maria brown: I can't do cornrows to save my damn life I always get my mum to do them for me and I'm 19

MJB Network🌐: Finger Dexterity & Cornrows I love him, he was on it, very concentrated and determined

Isabelle Cann: I watched this while studying for my hairstyling history test

Sabrina Besh: How could he not do the edges???? That was the easiest thing to do

Marlo J: You should make a a video about them attempting to comb out natural kinky hair and then make them wash it

Dameca Primm: He did good with the space buns, and they was wrong for not giving my brother a toothbrush to lay them edges

Krysten Cartwright: LMAO as a black person watching this video made me cringe soooo much, but i loved it also.

meezy: Hahahaha he couldn't even lay her edges though? Lol

D W: Yaaaaassss those space buns!

Imani Mirath: the corn row. I'm crying laughing. I can corn row my real hair but adding hair!! Omg! Especially trying to do it yourself and you can't see the back of your freaking head

Natania Russell: yup give the white software developer the cornrows, he'll be fine.

kel m: fun video.
