Okay, this is a three-part video about hair. I know I know it's enough hair videos on YouTube. Not I'm not is not going to be that type of video. It'S going to be like a follow-up from my video that I did last year, maybe like nine ten. Eleven months ago knows about my exercise, hair and how I manage my hair doing working out and all of that natural hair, and so it's basically a follow up from that video. So it's sort of like a three part, video, the first part um. I want to talk about the hair that I'm wearing now I always want want to give a shout out to our PG show I love their hair. Hair is so natural, so easy to maintain the older. It gets the better it gets, and I mainly I wear their hair more than any other gear, and then they have a lot of nice wigs and it keeps me from having to deal with my hair um. The fact that I can wear you know wigs or you part, wigs or whatever, but, like I said, hair is very natural-looking and the older it gets it sort of thins out a little, so it makes it even more natural-looking. I keep it washed, don't have no problem with washing it and um Flatiron it back to the way it's supposed to be. I usually wear the straight Styles a lot. This hair didn't come wavy like this. I was playing with the one and just it was a lot more wavy or three days ago, but then the waves have dropped so anything about this hair. You want to know, I will put it in the description bar the description box at the bottom of this video, so enough of that the second part of this video was about. If it is, you remember seeing that last video, it was about our me dealing with the natural hair me working out trying to convert to being natural and at the time I did that video I was not fully natural. I was like the roots was natural, but the ends was still relaxed. Well, I'm 100 % natural. Now I decided to cut all of those relaxed ends off and just do the little teeny, weeny afro thing and say you know: hey just. Do it from the natural way, so now I'm only dealing with one type of one texture of hair and that's the natural state now um, I keep it braided up. I keep it. Corn rolled all the time, um, I'm still having a little difficulty finding things that really works for my hair. A lot of you gave me a lot of good suggestions and I would out involve a lot of that stuff, so I spent like three four hundred dollars on all these different products. Y'All was telling me, and I appreciate it, but first of all, once I find what works for me, then I'll, probably just stick with that. I found a product that I think that sort of works for me um, like I said I keep my hair braided. So all I'm doing is moisturizing, but basically my cornrows. I don't wear my hair out natural because, like I told you in the last video I have, I think it's 4c a correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's the nastiest kinkiest hair, it's the fourth C here, whatever the nappy is most uncontrollable hair, the Tightest drawn up here, that's the type of hair that I have so a lot of you was giving me suggestions, but you don't have the type of hair that I have so I feel like you, don't have the type of hair that I have or if you're, Not a hair stylist, then you cannot give me suggestions on this hair. So I'm using one method that y'all told me about I started using was the water thing, so I spritz my cornrows um. I put some glycerin this stuff and I'm going to put a bigger picture, so you can see um. I put it then the second ingredient on this. I think yes glycerin. I put that on after i spritz it while it's still down and then I put coconut oil like pure organic virgin, coconut oil on top of that to seal it now, am i doing that right? I don't know, I don't know what I'm doing it right. It seems to make my hair moisture moisturized. So if I'm not doing it right, let me know but, like I said you don't have the type of hair that I have or if you're, not a hair stylist that works on all types of hair do not come in and tell me what I need to Be doing about my hair, I appreciate the thought I promise you I do, but I would rather listen to those who can can understand my pain because my hair is off the chain so um. Another thing I don't put a lot of emphasis and this, like I'm getting into the third part of the video. I don't put a lot of emphasis with my hair. Like I say, I find something that works and I'll stick with it and I'll move on a lot. I think a lot of these people just just a lot of us black women - have made this whole natural hair thing more complicated than it really is. Wouldn'T it black hair become this complicated like I see some of these youtube channels and these pages Instagram pages and Facebook, and these people like have 30,000 different products and I'm like, does it really take that much to just deal with one hand like your head? Does it take like having a whole entire aisle or a whole entire section in stores now just for natural hair? Like that's why I think we take a lot of time with the whole hair thing and can't focus on things. That'S more important, like health and fitness. Getting our bodies together - and you know going to the doctor and getting our yearly checkup two mammograms, because we're too busy focused on all of these hair stuff, like a new YouTube channel or a new Instagram page or a new Facebook page or a new website, goes Up sing like every single day about black hair, what in the heck did like do we need it like? Are you kidding me, but then you try to go online and try to search for health and fitness sites. That'S focused on black women and you don't find a lot of those like and the ones. I because I did research on the amount of websites that was focused on black health and fitness, and I came up with a long list, but over half of those sites are abandoned or no one updates of no more nothing mmm, and I wonder why so like I said I think we spending too much time on this hair thing, because you know society already say that black women do not work out because of their hair and there's a lot of truth in that. You can get upset with me for saying this, but usually those who gets upset or those who find fault in themselves and then they know that they spend more time focusing on their hair than they do there um this help there help. So you know, I see some of these pages with like 15 20 30 different products, hair products, and then I can't even get you to go out and buy a set of dumbbells. You got a hundred fifty hundred thousand hair product just loaded under your after own sink, but I can't get you to go out and buy a simple pair of dumbbells or a resistant ban or some exercise, shoes and workout shoes and workout clothes so stop making black Hair more complicated than it is because me personally, a lot of you know a lot more about black hair than I do come and tell you that now, because I don't have time to sit and watch these 50 million YouTube channels or all of these Facebook pages And all these Instagram on black hair, I don't have time my hair styles and believe it or not wigs clippings. You part anything that I can take off whether it is time to work out what anything that I can move out. The way when it's time to exercise my hair styles are based around my workouts. Not my workouts is based around my hair styles know anything that I do to my hair. The first thing I think, am I going to be able to be able to work out with his hair. Is it going to getting away? Can I easily remove it? If I have to that's how that's that's where my focus is don't get me wrong, hair is very, very, very important and if you want to take care of your hair - and you want to look your best because it's a part of your parents, so you want Your hair to look good, but I just think we, as black women, we put too much focus on this whole black thing, this black black hair thing, where it's consuming a lot of our time where we spending a lot of time with this hair thing, and it Doesn'T require that much time, that's just the time we choose to put in it because it doesn't take come on now. It doesn't take this much to deal with black hair. I know we can have some difficult air trust me. I know, but that difficult wear just takes your mind off everything else and it's like number one already in life not and in 2014. There should be no reason why I'm still hearing black women say that they cannot work out or they they got. Ta go easy in the gym or they can't go to the gym for the next couple of weeks because they just got your hair done, there's no reason and mm. Fortunately, I should be still hearing that, even if you think that don't say it don't say things, don't say it to me someone's like an insult. Why would you even say something like that to me cuz, you know, I'm not gon na, say anything, I'm not going to try to bring you down not gon na. Do any of that, because I'm just not that type of person. Most of you know when I post things about health and fitness, I don't try to make anyone. Do anything. That'S just not me, that's not a part of my personality, I'll post it and let you do what you feel like you need to do with the information or the recipes or the exercises everyone have to start in their own time. I had to start in my own time. I want always this interested in health and fitness, but I had to start in my own time. I was wanting to start, but I just never did, but now I'm like all the way in and I enjoy doing what I do most of it is because I enjoy doing it and I'm learning a lot about myself and how to take care of my own Self and at the same time helping other people, so that's my whole goal. That'S my whole focus is to help as many people as I can to become more healthier and do it in your own time. Do it like, if you have to take baby steps well as long as you're doing something? No one can make you become interested in the whole health and fitness thing. It has to be something that you want to do now. Those of you who do work out those of you who are serious about being more healthier living a healthier lifestyle exercising trying to eat better. I see you don't think that what you're doing is going unnoticed. I see you, I see those of you who's on Instagram. Put it in at the gym on Facebook posting your food, showing you know all the healthy recipes giving other women advice. I see you so I don't want to talk about the bad side and not talk about the good side, because I see my sister's doing that thing. I like that. I like it, but we just need more of us doing that we still have a long way to go. We do we, we really do, but those of you who are doing the day I love it. I see you and I'm with you, I'm with you, I'm telling you I'm there thanks for watching make sure you subscribe to the my channel. I need to start doing more videos, I know, but I'd be so busy where it's hard to just you know, break down and do videos, but I'm going to start doing more videos in 2014, a compass but thanks for watching and have a lovely lovely day. I love Darrel pay me no attention they're, like they're they're working out. They don't pay me a bit of attention. They don't know who buff in your body buffing the body. Is they don't know what body nah mix in and they don't care? And I like that?

DivaSlimsDown: congrats on going natural. Check out Jouelzy or BlakIzBeautyful they are amazing! I admit I used the excuse in the beginning that working out too hard sweated out my relaxer. But I learned quickly if I wanted results I needed to work hard and save the excuses. my health comes first period. I went natural and been a sweaty mess ever since lol. great video!

Pat Rice:  This is a good  video. I wish more women heard this. You are so right. When did Black Hair become so complicated? It's Not, It's society and manufactures stating this MYTH.  It's JUST HAIR.  I just wrap it up when I go to the gym. Yes, I am Team Natural, yet I am also team wig, team weave and team braids. Whatever works, looks good and low maintenance.

Charmaine Espeut: 4c gang represent! If you are not use to doing your own hair you will have those negative views on it. Our hair is beautiful and yes its the curliest. For me I workout with my twist or braids. I don't straighten my hair. If you want straight hair get a wig. Under the wig have twist. When you workout take off the wig and rock your twist. Don't let hair get in your way of being healthy.

NiCole Sky: Yes girl, preach it! Honestly I feel and look better after a workout not after I get my nails or hair done. Health is everything and us black women tend to forget that. But the black men are noticing and looking at us they can tell whats the priority. Trust they prefer a a woman whose shaped nice versus a woman who just got her done. BTW: You look great!

Jet Abundance: Buffie you are so right!! I am currently subscribe to many hair channels and I'm going to unsubscribe to most and focus more on my health and less on hair. Thanks for speaking the truth!!

💙Bondy Blue💙: Natural hair is supposed to make working out easier and no you don't need 300 dollars worth of products I have 4b hair and I just use 3 products after washing and conditioning. A lot of these girls are just product junkies.

Brick Built: Exercise hair, SOLVED! But why are some black women still losing in 2014?  Watch now!

1beblazin: I have hair similar to yours, its a type 4 since its KINKY. A good tip for after washing your hair is to put your hair in about 6-8 twists(depending on your thickness and length) and then wrap it into a bantu knot for about an hour or til your hair is damp. It helps it stay stretched until your ready to moisturize and style. I normally leave in til next day if I can to really stretch it, that way it's easier to style. Hope it helps

MsCkelle: Thanks for acknowledging us gurls who r trying to do better. I totally agree with u about the hair as I was both a victim of not wanting to work out because of my hair. I have that uncontrollable 4c hair too. I am now working out regularly and only worry about my hair when I need to. I am so annoyed with the natural hair craze and all of those who have taken advantage of us. U continue to inspire many, Thanks

yobee100: I saw one of your videos and watched it simply out of curiosity, I'm glad I did. You are very likable, honest and serious about health and fitness, as am I. I'm happy i stumbled upon your channel. Your an awesome woman.

Ayanna L: I wear wigs like you Buffie && after almost 3 years natural my hair is growing healthy past BSL because taking my hair out of cornrows only once a month helps me retain length and more easily manage all my thick hair. Plus.. Just about all protective styling makes managing your hair through workouts an easier task. :)

Breanna Goodman: First: I loved your DVD!! My husband saw results instantly, good job! And you DID get me to go out and buy the dumbells and yoga mat- I'm glad I bought DVD:] second: coconut oil, avocado oil, and olive oil are the three carrier oils. They are the oils that can actually penetrate your hair shaft. So no they are not a sealant, just very good at moisturizing. You can combine these oils with a a few drops of essential oils, so that the carrier oils can "carry" the nutrients from the essential oils into your shaft. The essential oils are very nutrient dense, so that's why you only need a few drops. Any oil besides the three carrier oils mentioned can be used as sealants. Castor oil is very thick and heavy (probably the heaviest), jojoba oil is extremely light, I believe sweet almond oil as well. When purchasing coconut oil you'll want to make sure that you get unrefined cold-pressed. During the expeller-pressing process (opposite of cold-pressed) heat is produced, so some of the nutrients that you want for your hair are destroyed during the process. Also coconut oil melts at 76 degrees, room temperature. Keep that in mind if you style your hair in the winter with it because if using large amounts it WILL solidify in your hair lol Oils should be stored in dark containers in cool places, so careful about storing near your stove or in a steamy bathroom. I will love your channel even more once you start wearing your natural hair because that is my struggle! I feel my styles are limited because I sweat so much, and being in the military working out in uniform I am limited to how I can wrap my hair without someone with more stripes saying something to me xD thank you so much for your workout videos, one day I'll have a butt at least half the size of yours! keep up the great work ma'am!

VerNeshia L: I am 4C and you going in a good direction. The shrinkage is real. Over time I use Shea Moisture but I just swap between the different collections. I found you by researching standing abs exercise. I was encouraged by a physical therapist to follow you for home and gym workout.

Tam Tam: Lol I'm watching this while getting ready to workout. Natural, relaxed, or texturized, my hair always get messed up after a workout. Idk what I'm doing wrong, and the scarf method just doesn't work for me lol.

Tatyana Lastarr: I have 4c hair as well and Ive learned to embrace my shrinkage after I wash it. Ive read that it means your hair is healthy because it draws back up. Idc no more love it so much I big chopped a 2nd time since last April. #team4c

Teasha Stewart: To keep your hair from matting down back into a fro you have to style it in 2 strand twist or braids and it sounds like your doing the right things when maintenance is considered.

Kay Rock: I totally agree with you this video was well needed many naturalist spend to much time on their hair and neglect what should be first health preach!

Doriska Cantave: Thank you for your videos. I follow you on instagram and just subcribed to you chanel. I'm on a journey to get healthy because I let myself go. Thank you so much for making you self available to those of us who need help or motivation. I appreciate you taking time out to share your knowlegde and helping others

Princess Raid: My hairstyle is most definitely based on my workout. I make sure my hair is clean and moisturized but my hair will never be my reason for not getting my butt in the gym. If I have to wear my hair in a bun ALL week so I can get my workout on I do. My head sweat the most but hey once I keep my hair washed and clean everything is just fine! Thanks for this video!

Monae Artistry's Hair and Makeup Blog: Exercising and keeping your hair tight can really be a challenge. You have to find a good routine that works for your routine.

omooyaobatala: We ARE spending too much time money & energy on our hair. I have combo hair, mostly 4C. I'm not a pro so I ain't gonna try to give advice, lol! I keep it simple -- afros, press n curl & twists. If l'm having a bad hair day, l condition mine & throw a a cute gele (wrap) on. Let's try & focus more on that brain underneath that mane of hair. I am working out more this year - l'll happily sweat it out! Thank you for your posts!! Congrats on your natural hair journey. End of the day...your hair wear it how ya wanna. Love your site!

Pariscouture6: You're not natural until you ROCK your natural!! I love you and all of your videos. Rock/expose/wear/show that natural girl.

kikicouture10: I have 4c hair very coarse, dense & sometimes unmanageable the product brands I love are aussie moist 3 minute miracle, shea moisture, vo5 clarifying conditioner, giovanni direct leave, extra virgin coconut oil.

Coko Bee: I used "Shea moistures" deep treatment masque as A DC when I was natural ( was ) I was natural for 2 years and realized that it was not for me, but co-washing was the Best thing invented for Natural hair... And on top of me making products I was cool for my 2 year journey! ..... Great info Buffie

richboyk1: congratulations on your fully natural hair!!! stay positive!!!

Tiana Marie: Hey Buffie, Love you. I have 4c hair and if you use this you'll have smooth hair all the way down to the ends. I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO COMPLICATED. 2 tablespoons of your favorite leave in conditioner, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice or gel, 2 teaspoons of caster oil and 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil. That's all!! I refrigerate because of the aloe in it. You can also choose to keep it braided in the shower. You don't have to take it down to wash.

RAQUELMYNETTE: im so happy you did another video on this .. cause Im gonna put this link on my fb now and tag my cousin in this video because she never works out but always talking about how she needs to go to the gym with me but she cant cause her hair is pressed SMH!!!!!!!!!!

Shahna Eliza: I think the importance of health falls into every aspect. Going natural for me initially was because it is healthier. And gaining knowledge for being healthier in books, you tube, experience or etc is all still knowledge gain. But never has my hair come between me and working out.

Made2Excel: I would recommend that you read the Science of Black Hair by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy. It is a great book that's geared to help you learn about your hair strand and how to discover what should work for you.

msdeedee3: Tell it like it is girl!!!  I rock my natural hair in twist all the time, so when I exercise at home or at the Gym 4 - 5 days a week, I do not have any hair issues.  I spray it with my concoction (water, oil, aloe vera juice and a inexpensive conditioner) daily, take it down weekly wash it and put it right back up.  Been doing this for years.  You will find the right products for you and keep doing what you do

toughsuga2: You always keep it real. Love the videos

BlaqKrypton_: I have 4b / 4c hair and many of my friends have 4c hair. You have to keep it simple so what you are doing is fine for now. As it grows you modify according to needs.

Karan kawa: Hey Bodynomics thanks for being real all the time girl

learningmoredaily: Excellent points you have addressed in this video. Keep up the great work.

peppervalley: Hey Buffie. I think we need to go old school. When I was a little girl, my hair was thick and healthy. Didn't get a perm until I was seventeen. Don't know what my mom used ( damn I should ask her) but it wasn't a bunch of products. The products our moms, aunties and grandmothers used back in the day, we should use too. It was simple and their hair was healthy. So you should ask the women in your family what did they use in their hair back in the day. It may help.

AAEA: Congrats on being fully natural. Whether curls, coils, kinks, or all of the above...the key is moisture moisture moisture lol! I'm also from the school of keep it simple. So water and natural oils and that's about it.

PEARLfectFiX: Hey lady! I have type 4 hair as well and when I cut my relaxed hair it was like, oh my gosh, whyyyy did I do this? Girl, do you know folks were telling me I looked like a straight up boy! Lol I was watching youtube every day, trying stuff I seen other young ladies trying, like, why my hair won't do that? Ugh, why she got curls and I don't? So I TOTALLY understand what you're saying about people with other hair types trying to tell YOU about YOUR hair! But after 3 years of being natural. I've learned a lot... Now I stillll haven't found all natural shampoos and conditioners all that, but I CAN tell you, even though you may have figured it out by now, that sprit zing your actual fro with water actually helps A LOT! Now I'm still trying different things, but the main method I alllllways end up going back to is the LOC method. Liquid-oil-cream or leave in-oil- cream. After I wash my hair, I let it dry just a little, so it's not soaking wet, and apply my leave in (cantu shea butters leave in conditioning repair cream). Then, I add some olive oil, and use shea butter OR jamaican black castor oil to seal it in and braid it or twist it. Braiding or twisting the hair while it's slightly damp will help to keep it from drawing up. You can unbraid it after it dries and very day when you notice it starting to draw up, spritz it with a little water and add a finger or two of shea butter on top to seal in the water and use your fingers to pull or stretch your hair. Again, this is the ONLY method I've found so far that seems to work for my type 4 hair that actually keeps it's stretched, soft, and moisturized. You will not be able to get it straight without a blow dryer of flat iron. Hope this helps and thank YOU for this video! By the way, I use shea moisture retention shampoo, organic oil root stimulator deep conditioner when I condition, suave clarifying shampoo, and the organix shampoo in the red bottle. The deep conditioner and leave in contain silicones, but I just find that they work great for my hair type and for me, they don't build up, probably because of the thickness of the hair type. I'm only mentioning these products in case you have them already. If you've found something that's working for you, stick with it! You're right about our hair not being that complicated. My Mama took care or it before I had a relaxer when I was little and it seemed healthy and just fine! I know she didn't do all that extra stuff! Ok, I'm done. That was a long post!

teachii: First off I want to say congrats on your natural hair journey. No, I am  not a hair stylist nor have 4 C hair BUT I do have a friendly advice, do whatever works best for YOU. If you find that water, glycerin and coconut oil combined makes your hair moisturized, easy manageable then you are doing every thing that is best for your hair. :]

Tepo Aphiri: Lol, oh WOW, that is so, so TRUE! I cut my hair short, pretty much looks like yours now and it's all because of my workouts. Just couldn't deal with fussing about hair like before. My focus has totally changed to my body now.

Courtney D. Holland: I agree 100% Black woman and our hair seems to supersede Black women and our health/fitness. Thank you for making a positive statement about this! Also I noticed you we're sniffing a bit in this video...I use a supplement line called Isotonix where one of the products is an anti-inflammatory and helps tremendously with our cardio-vascular systems.  It is an amazing product called OPC-3 It also help to make you nails grow stronger, and your hair grow and become shiny and healthy.   Seems almost to good to be true, but I promise you it is not.  I use it daily with a my Isotonix Vitamin D w/ K2 as well b/c Black women are Vitamin D deficient. Go check out my site, and you can research and purchase it from there! www.shop.com/CeeMonAmour

lkmsundastood: Buffie don't feel bad girl I have the same texture hair as you do (4c) and my friends try to tell me about what I can and can't do with my hair until I let them put their hands in it. When you find out the thing that works for you and your hair plz share with me either by ig (@dreyatee) or here. I welcome help with this hair of mine as well cause I have a hard time managing and moisterizing also. Thanks for this vid.

Aubreylovell: Yeah girl I'm currently transitioning & I have 4c to I'm trynna figure out products & stuff to I think in my opinion having the same texture is to just keep it moisturized. & your so right about the hair game I'm going natural because of breakage & my hair just thin & I miss it but loved the video & a lot of products or little depends on the person you don't need 100s

Regine Mellor: Your right about all of these hair videos. But not me i'm so grateful for your channel i just subscribed and i love your workouts i'm a simple girl i could care less about hair i can always buy a wig. We black women are most higher risk in so many diseases we need to get healthier.

Shamara Thomas: I can't believe people have allowed hair, something so simple, to divide us

Jasmine Martin: I  just double up on sweat bands which helps a lot, and after my workout I just take my blow dryer (w/ comb) and run through my hair. Health over hair any day.

DearlyBlessed: This is soooooooooo true. Sad but true. This is a huge part in why I stopped working out and that's unacceptable. Our priorities, well mine, had to be revamped. Cause ummm, honestly, it's NOT that serious. Hair is hair

Ariana King: as far as keeping your hair from shrinking to your head after you wash it, I never let my hair dry loose. When I wash my hair I will always braid or twist my hair while I am still in the shower. And when it comes to the products you are putting in if it is making your hair happy then that is the answer for you.  As far as the movement towards natural hair it has been significant (for me specifically) because it was a space for me to gain some serious acceptance for who I am all around. And it does genuinely take this much effort to grow healthy natural hair. It would be a lot easier to perm it and get a doobie (wrap set) every week. But to wash and detangle it for 8-10 inches of thick natural hair how it grows does take me 3 hours. And I mean if I could afford a set of RPG show wigs I'd be down for that, but that's not in my grasp or I would. BUT with that said my hair also doesn't stop me from working out (except maybe water aerobics---which I do try to get to as well). I think the problem is not the emphasis on black hair, its the crippling affect it is having on women.

Volition Spark: I am transitioning. I have Chaka Khan hair that has been relaxed for a long time. BUT what I find helpful is to NOT expect my hair to be "bone straight". It is really hard to keep stick straight hair and work out hard everyday. I don't try. My hair has texture.

Nina513: SPEAK, Sis! I stopped buying into this Natural Hair trend a while back...  It ain't that serious.  Be patient with yourself, test out a couple things then focus on what works... I think a lot of Black women are fearful of something when it comes to losing weight, so we use hair and other things as excuses.

moonie jenkins: You're definitely doing it right. You moisturize or spritz first then seal. I absolutely love everything about coconut oil and it's been proven to penetrate the hair shaft better than any other oil.

DynastyMarieify: I FEEL YOU, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU ARE SO RIGHT, US BLACK WOMEN NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER, AS FAR AS HAIR I DO SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE YOU AND BRAID IT AND WEAR WIGS, OR BRAID/TWISTOUTS, I LOVE WATER AND OIL THAT'S ALL I USE AND WORK MY HAIR IN SECTIONS, I HOPE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS FROM YOU GREAT VIDEO BUFF GOD BLESS YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

mscocoa011: I totally agree with you. I'm a new natural and its so much hair products they say to use its not that complicated. Plus they make millions off of us (Africans) and we spend too much time concerning hair and should put more of that time in our health. Love your Vids btw and welcome to the natural world!!!!

Triple Three Tarot: I agree that people do make the natural hair thing more complicated than it needs to be. When I went natural about 8 years ago there weren't many sites or products geared towards natural hair care. After a lot of trial and error I figured out what worked for my hair type and that was it. I have a handful of products that I replenish as needed. I have a set routine that's very simple. I can't keep up with all these new sites and bandwagons. And neither can my wallet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

DeanaCarin: LOL... So true! So many put effort in hair and not health. Thanks for telling the truth!

Ayanna L: Hi Buffie! Miss Rosie has some great, easy-to-understand videos on the science of natural hair so you can figure out what your hair needs (or hates) instead of just following someone else's regimen. Now for the lady who said "you're not really natural until you let your hair out"... Seriously? Are you suggesting that forcing people to do something before they're comfortable is the natural thing to do?.. Ugh.

hfb: lol I have 4c hair (my avi is an old weave lol) but the best thing i can say about 4c in in a twa state (im almost bra strap length) is to embrace your nappyness girl lol, but 3 things: 1) My routine became simple after finding the products that work for me: cowash once a week (AsIAm, ONLY when its on sale) , deep condition with plastic cap, moisturize, detangle, seal, & put something heavier on top. I would style with whatever I felt like doing lol 2) The way I combated shrinkage was to do 2 strand twists (i know they're small but it will work) while my hair was drying which is after detangling.  3) I think the thing that makes going natural challenging is finding what works for you. Once you find that it's a breeze! After I found what works for me the only challenges I had left was my first winter being natural (done) and heat damage. 4) 4C youtubers: Jouelzy and CharyJay Hope this helps :)

fabpsalmist705: Welcome to the Natural side!! And I to am a 4c (kinkiest hair) member and proud of it!! Yes our hair is resistant can get dry at the drop of a dime and the packing down to your scalp?! I call that "helmet hair" because that's what it looks like when it's "desert dry" and I tie it in a satin scarf over night that packed down helmet look is what I get but, I believe it is the strongest because it is so course. If you see women with our texture of hair that's longer " oh yes our hair can grown just as long as other grades contrary to some beliefs" it is bouncy and pliable and thick as ever!! In my opinion, to keep moisture in your hair after washing you should moisturize immediately. All the oils recommended are great! but find which ones work for you.  While wet I place my oils in separately or mixed is fine mixed Is easier just do equal parts of each and then seal with a cream like a leave in conditioner, shea butter etc. As far as your big haul of hair products do a give away but, make them earn it!! Give them a challenge that they can't cheat on in order to when free products. You could quiz them on your videos and ask about certain exercises and what part of the body they help. Or make them post a 30min work out using your work outs!! Get em Buffy!

Kandace Green: I have 4c "nappy", kinky, tightly curled hair. Understanding the science of black hair (for example, YT's Green Beauty channel) is the most important key to maintaining it. Moisture & oil are important as well as keeping the hair cleansed/clarified & deep conditioned. I wish you much success with your hair, and I thank you for sharing your fitness journey with us. God bless you.

KiraiBK: I agree with you on the hair gimmicks. I switched from store bought products to using oils (almond, coconut and olive) only and using avocado as a deep conditioner. My hair has flourished without all those products. There are new products every day. It's a money maker. That and those hair vitamins but don't get me started on that.

BkByTes'Ann Desir'Pleasureteam: Buffie I totally agree with everything you said in your video.  I hae been natural for 2 years and I am having the same problem with my hair drawing up and I think I am a c4 as well not for sure but Im up there.  I did find a product that hasn't done me wrong in the past 6-8 months which is Clear Scalp & hair therapy Ultra Shea found at Taget for less than $5 (gold packaging). I hope this work and thanks for up lifting me and getting me on track.  I hate it took me so long to see that you are Big Booty Judy from ATL my nickname is based off that and I am working hard to have that between Booty of Day and Night LOL.  Thank Girlie

🌹Sonya🌹: I too have that course 4c hair. I keep it corn rowed and wear wigs because I workout 5-6 days a week. I wash my hair with the corn rows in several times a week and moisturiZe daily. I take them down only once a month. I've been doing this method since my big chop 18 months ago and my hair has grown past shoulders. You look amazing my friend. (In my head)

Maria Owens: Nappy? The picture you inserted is my idea of "good" hair, as you can do so much with it. I think you're doing the right thing: keep it braided, moisturize you hair and your scalp, and don't over-comb. Don't wash too harshly, and condition, condition, condition! Get some Eco styler gel (cheap) and when you want to take a break from braids, condition, rinse, add some oil, and rub some gel through your hair let it air dry or sit under a dryer and when it's dry add some oil for shine and to soften the gel. The point overall is caring for your hair, and I think the simplicity of what you're doing is what's best. I just found your channel and I agree that I'm much more excited about health and wellness than hair, and I'm so glad you exist and you're doing this! I'm so inspired by you and proud of you; as a black woman I'm always so excited to see other black women doing something positive!

iNeverHad Mercy: My GOODNESS, Buffie !! You are ONE word (and it is inclusive of everything about you) : B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. !!!!

chantilskinner: I cut mu hair off for my toddler once I realized that her hair was just like mine (before I got a perm when I was 7.) It's been a year and a half and the biggest thing I've learned is that technique is more important than the products for us 4c girls. I detaingle and loosely twist our hair with conditioner before I wash it. They may loosen and some even come undone during the process but once it's clean the sections help keep the tangle stress down tremendously. Working in sections w damp hair in twists also ensures good product distribution. I went to the gym today with my blown out fro tied up in 4 banded sections and I'm still a happy camper afterwards.

goldmouth100: Oh yeah I workout all the time..lol ;-) and I also have your Dvd as well...Thank You So Much for your motivation Buffie ;-)

mzhllywdiva: Buffie, I am a licensed stylist and educator with 4c natural hair! I recommend taking your coconut oil, mix some Vigin olive oil and raw Shea butter and whip it together in a nutribullet! Keep it corn rowed and do you! Just that simple. I'm telling what you what works for our hair texture! Good luck

EbonyW: With the glycerin you have to be careful and only put it on when your environment is humid (moisture in the air) otherwise if the air is dry moisture will be pulled from your hair thus causing it to be dry. Just a tidbit if you didn't already know

Lloydia Carney: Hey girl, I have 4c hair and have been natural for 2 yrs now. First lemme say is you have to figure our your regimen. I will describe my weekly regimen. Every DAY I sprits my hair with my homemade water/glycerin/argan oil. Being that our hair is 4c it requires more moisture. Sunday is washday. I usually always wash my hair while is it in cornrows. If it's not cornrowed then I section into four parts. I use my fingers to detangle and I Pre-poo (adding oils to the ends before I wash) using coconut oil. Then I once I've detangle I co wash and then dry my hair using an old t shirt. Then while my hair is damp, I add moisture section by section or cornrow by cornrow. Here's how I add moisture. I use the LOC (liquid, oil, cream) method. First I sprits each section wht my water/glycerin mixture and work into my hair from root to tip. Then I add my oil which is a coconut oil/grapeseed oil, then I add my cream mixture to seal in the moisture. My cream mixture is a homemade whipped butter made of Shea butter, coconut oil, and cantu's natural oil lotion ... Pls believe me that typing this is more work than what I've described.

Jackson's Piano: I have 4c hair and I feel your pain! I haven't found a "miracle" that I can scream about but what I use to maintain my 4c hair is Scurl no drip activator, cocnut oil, olive oil, water and blue magic argan  moisturizer is pretty ok. Yep, I either wear a baseball hat or a wig when I go to the gym.

Cinnamon Caramel: Honestly Buffy I agree with you 100% Its frustrating when people are giving advice on natural hair and what products are best to use and their curl pattern is way different. I know I have true 4C hair. Well rooted well coily. Its also hard to find females on youtube with that true hair type to get helpful recommendation for products.

D. Huntley: I totally agree!! Black women need to focus on healthy eating and exercise. These improve hair as well. Kudos Ms. Buffy!!

Maria: I deal with a lot of shrinkage as well.  I would recommend after you wash your hair, moisturize as usual, but twist/braid/plait your hair so it won't draw up to your head.  Keep your hair damp so it will not be hard to comb. :0)  Thank you for your inspiration!!

Miss Karrie: Trust me, I know precisely what you're dealing with. I have the same texture hair. Thick, coarse, and hard to comb. However, I found a product called "Sta-Sof-Fro" in a brown spray bottle works freakin miracles. It literally changes the texture of your hair. The comb will glide through with ease. Not to mention it causes the hair to grow fast as wild fire. It's God's gift to natural blacks. I wish I was a celeb n could promote it. Everyone asks me my secret to long manageable natural hair, well, this is it.

Nesha B: That's true Buffy I'm guilty of it I'm not natural I have a short hair cut and I don't workout because I just spend 70 getting it relaxed and 40 getting washed and style and yes I am overweight

PocketsOfLife: I think its interseting that you say your workout doesnt work around your hair , yet you wear wigs all the time. Natural hair is hard and its no reason to not work out though. I completely agree but not everyone wants to wear wigs everyday.

Kimika Jackson: I have 4a hair I would co-wash and stretch and blah blah blah trying to make my hair look like something it wasn't. I just decided to wear my hair in twists and I loved it. I now decided to get locs. I just don't have the time for worrying about my hair and staying in all day styling it. I love to be active and bae loves the locs lol.

Uniquely Fashioned: And you telling the truth, so many people selling hair! I wear my own hair (relaxed) and I do workout. I want to be healthier and live longer. And really you don't need alot of products for your hair. I have like 4b/c hair. I just shampoo, deep condition, moisturize, and seal with a oil or serum. Once you find what works for your hair, stick with it. I did the same thing, buying all these product. Because of some hair forum or youtube vid. Also oil my scalp and that's all. Simple and I have long hair.

monatural79: I just ordered your Dvd Grade A Glutes, and I am so excited to get started!

christielove1110: I'm not going to make any product recommendations. I'm not a big product person anyway. But I will say that curl pattern does not determine what products you should use. There are many more characteristics about hair to consider, i.e. porosity, elasticity, is your hair coarse or fine, etc. One of my favorite conditioners at one point was something made for white women. So you never know. You just need to find whatever works and stick with it. Good luck with your journey.

1531newme: Amazing video! The truth hurts, but keep it coming.

Flairelle: I have very coarse hair and it shrinks and looks 10 times shorter when i wash it. In summer last hair I only used water and olive oil in my hair. Sometimes I added condtioner. Wash, towel dry my roots, condition lightly, sealed with olive oil.

Morning Song: I have coarse hair as well and Qhemet Biologics works well for me. Particularly the amla and olive heavy cream.

Quinn Holl: Thank you Ms.BODYNOMICS. I like these one channel its for hair, Brianna Rudders TheHairBible. She has really good advice on natural and I believe she has 4C hair as well. Ps. That hair is MoneY.:)

Karen Patricia: Thank you for this video. Hopefully you will see my meals. I want to order your workout thanks to bondy blue do you have a 30 second preview on it anywhere?

Danielle Winfrey: Yes! You're doing it right!!

OfficiallyLori: I know exactly what you're talking about. My hair is 4c, dry, thick, drinks up oils in minutes and NAPPY! I have to moisturize TWICE a day, it's a must. Pure oils work the best for me, coconut, almond and castor.

Kitty.jones Jones: For natural hair you can look up "As I Am" hair product its for natural hair moisturizers shampoos & conditioners and you can get it at Targets or Wal-Mart look it up it does work for natural hair

LadyTrina: Don't forget to deep condition your hair at least once a week. You don't have to wash your hair as much as you deep condition it do co washs.

🌹Sonya🌹: Yes I leave my braids in. Like if you have a sew in. I wash and condition or just co wash. I take the braids down once per month and give myself a hot oil treatment or protein treatment depending on how my hair feels. The less manipulation the better for me..

Courtney Snead: to help w. your hair shrinking up after washing you can put it in plats or twist to let it dry; those help it retain some of its length and it does not shrivel up as much.

EveryDayPray: Buffy, you're right. I watch hair videos, and many of the women are overweight/fat, but their hair is immaculate. I don't understand it.

natasha louissaint: Amen! Preach! Love u even more for this.

Makeba Clark: Hi in order to stop your hair from shrinkage without adding heat braid your hair while its wet do your cornrows or whichever u prefer this will stretch the healthy way. Also my girls and I are 4c as well and I've tried several products that don't seem to work. Products I've found that work are creme of nature 7 in one moisturizer and t tree oil also if u need to lay your hair down Eco styler hair gel is awesome it doesn't contain alcohol. Hope this is helpful

goldmouth100: Hey Buffie...I am a licensed cosmetologist I do hair everday... and the best way to learn your own natural hair is Trial and Error.....What works on someone elses 4c hair may not work for yours because you have to consider the density and porosity and diameter of your own hair..there is no proper regimen that someone can give you.. You or your stylist will have to figure it out by trying out various products until you find what's right for your hair...thats why natural girls have so much product

Mo R: Buffy I'm telling you this is the truth. Wash your hair. Shampoo snd condition of your choice. Rinse with Apple cider vinegar. And then put a Paul Mitchell foaming pomade in your hair. Make sure you put it in while hair is wet so if can have a lather. Blow dry and flat iron. Gurl you just did that! !

moe4u2love: He is a licensed stylist, unlike many of the "gurus" on YouTube who will have your hair breaking off with their homemade concoctions. May want to look at the videos if you have time.

Mks: good job ceiling with coconut oil! it helps your hair to stay moisturized :)

yoyo0323: I'm an aunty who is natural with a seven year old niece that has 4b 4c hair what I use on her is as I am co wash, Giovanni leave in, or Paul Mitchell the conditioner (amazing) and Shea butter I always use water because her hair shrinks so daggone fast and follow with moisture after. I must say that I love her hair. It holds a a braid and twist out like no other.

MsAshleyTheZaftigGoddess: It's funny because it's those who are wearing sew ins and have relaxed hair that will have a bigger issue with messing up their hair while working out versus when our hair is natural. I've had natural hair for 14 years but I've worn weave most of that time. It's when I have sew ins that I don't want my head to get sweaty. But since I've been wearing my natural hair out for the last year straight, I don't even think twice about getting sweaty while working out. I was tempted to sew in some hair a few months ago and my boyfriend was like, NO,you won't workout if you do! And he's right. I had to get to a place of what's more important, my hair or my health? I'm choosing my health since I have quite a bit of work to put in and don't have time to be focused on some bs. The tip you gave about basing your hair around your workout, not your workout around your hair, is the best tip. Thanks!

LadyTrina: I have 4c hair shea butter works good. Your doing a great job you'll start enjoying your hair more once it longer lol
