Can Black Women Wash Their Hair Every Day? | Shampooing Natural Hair

Can black women shampoo their hair daily?

We have been taught as black women that shampooing daily is bad for our hair. But doesn't everything on your body work better when it's cleaner? How is the hair any different?

Most women say that their hair is easier to manage right after they shampoo it. If that's the case then why would you not shampoo it more often? Shampooing natural hair every day is not for everybody. I believe that everybody should shampoo their hair no less than once a week. It's all about finding a routine that doesn't take a long time and that is manageable. It's also about finding a style that works well and gives you the results you desire.

I hope you learned something from this video that you are able to apply to your natural hair routine.

As always, Keep Growing!

Have you ever heard that shampooing, your hair will dry it hair out or black women? Don'T do that? Well or you do that, because you got dead hair. Well, I find that the women who has nice hair, like if you see a black woman in the mall, her hair, is really pretty like it's flowing. I guarantee you that you go. She knows how to shampoo her hair at home when she goes to salon a lot. There'S a correlation between the two, the women who shampoo their hair, more often they're happier with their hair, and then the hair gives a better results. You can change the texture of your hair if you shampoo it more often not every day, but at least once a week because they, you know people want to say black. Well black women, don't shampoo the hair every you know they don't put their hair. Not what do we get that from I mean just think about it? Where did it come from, or I can tell you where I think it comes from it comes from when we got relaxers when I did relaxers, which I haven't done relaxer since 2010, you can't share cool relaxed hair all the time, because it is a little weaker Because of the chemical, so shampooing often does make it dry. Remember when I said the cuticle layers open, so the more you shampoo it like natural relaxed hair needs to be coated, coated heavily, it's just to make it feel normal, and so, if you're shampooing it all the time it won't be coated. Well, natural hair is not like that natural hair does not like to be coated when I say it likes to be called it. Natural hair doesn't like to be coated, so if you have too much product on natural hair, it will not respond. But what happened is a lot of people when they went natural they just kept doing the same thing to their hair as they did when it was relaxed. So if you still on the same wash routine you're using the same product, you know you're. Looking at your hair to say, natural, hair and pray and relax here are two different. Two different types of hair tall, apples and oranges could belong on a total different person. So if you're, relaxed or you're going through the dual growing out, your your natural hair, you're growing out your relaxed, hair and you're like this is hard. Well, it's because you're growing in a whole different head of hair, and you have to change your mindset. So I try to post videos so that you can change your mindset and how you you and how you do your natural hair, because a lot of people say well. I grew my hair on that one. I still don't like it. I don't know what to do. It'S probably because your mindset never changed from the relaxed hair. You got the same products in the cabinet. You want the same watch routine. You kind of try to perform the same services and brave are the women who grow their natural and still don't like it like that. It'S very dist, that's some endurance, but we can get you to like it. We just got to change and alter some of your routine, so that you will, you will know you know you will like it. So don't go back if you want to fight I'm gon na fight with you. I keep posting these videos. Hopefully, you'll find something these videos to help you endure longer. Okay, all right talk to you later, bye,

Watchwoman 65: Update: I did an experiment with shampoo and Its definately working. I started shampooing and conditioning daily. I deep condition weekly and so far so good. I honestly believe the key to growth is clean hair and scalp. I have no shedding, no breaking and no itching. This works

BklynBabe: I've been washing my hair almost daily for over 20 years, even when I was relaxed, my hair always grew quickly. People always asked me what I did and I told them, I wash it all the time. In fact, once I went natural, I thought I should back off, but nope, my hair still loves water, conditioner, moisturizers, etc. Dry hair is an absolute no for me. I don't know why people think washing daily would dry out your hair if it's drenched in moisture all the time.

TUFFRYDA: i’m so glad i found this video. i currently wash my hair every week now. when i would wait a month to two months i would have a sore, itchy scalp. now i have a comfortable scalp, my hair stays moisturized, and it’s getting thicker!

Lady Zebiba: I wash and deep condition twice a week. I only wear wash and go’s. And my hair grows extremely fast.

kajja27: I have 4b/4c hair and I co wash every other day and shampoo twice a or more a week depending on how much product I use but my hair loves shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis ! My hair is so soft and coily I love it !! And since I've been natural I've never been to a beautician and I always get compliments on my hair. Matter of fact the easiest way for me to detangle and style my hair is when it's totally clean and wet and thoroughly moisturized!

Lůna Paloma: Great video. I wash my hair daily with a very nourishing shampoo. I don't use conditioner, long time ago discovered that my hair doesn't need it. Once I rinse my hair out I apply a leave-in hair cream. That's my daily routine. I wear my hair out all the time and detangle it once a month. This may not work for most people but it works for me since I love the natural look of my coily hair. I'm experiencing way less breakage and the most important thing for me it's that my hair smells amazing 24/7, my scalp feels clean. No more getting out of the shower with a clean body and a sweaty head ( because I can sweat a lot during the summer) . I use to shave my hair all the time and now that it's growing I plan on continuing with my daily washing routine.

BeautyFromWithin: I co wash my hair everyday in the shower with conditioner and a mixture of oils with cold water. I use shampoo, conditioner and oil every two to three days . Since, I have been doing this my hair has grown down my back. It is also, more manageable. When I was younger I was taught to wash my hair every two weeks. For me my hair wouldn't grow. Or, it was growing but the ends were breaking off more. My hair felt dirty and yucky. So, I decided to start co washing everyday and wash with shampoo every 2 to three days. For me this works. I find when my scalp has less buildup and my scalp is clean. My hair grow better and feel more manageable. I have no relaxer. I'm all natural. Don't forget to pamper your ends they need attention too.

Watchwoman 65: I shampoo my hair 3 days a week with no problems. The key for me is to also condition. I deep condition once a week.

African Mermaid 🧜‍♀️: I shampoo and deep condition once a week. I condition wash or just rinse everyday then add a leave in and oil on top.. my hair is growing like weeds!

Buhle Nkosi: I sleep with either coconut oil or castor oil in & wrap my hair then wash it every morning. I don’t use heat to blow dry my hair I air dry then braid my hair for a wig. My hair has become fuller & linger defo washing everyday helps

Koriander Yander: I shampoo my hair every other day. I used to do it once or twice a week. I tried to do it daily, but that did not work out. So every other day is fine. I usually always wear my hair curly. So I have my hair in a wash and go most of the time.

Hello People: It may take time but it’s worth it Wash your hair everyday There is no excuse

Ilovesesshomaru sama: I wash my hair every five days and deep condition once a week and my hair loves it.

Dance With Me: I wash my hair twice a week. Black men often wash their hair daily with no issues. I think you need a clean scalp, otherwise you scalp will be covered in dead skin and oil if left too long. I find my hair is much softer when washed twice a week. If I leave it to once a week by Day 4 my hair gets really hard and tangles. I remember once I did not wash my hair for 2 weeks because I was ill and had a bad cold. My hair stunk, was very hard and needed four lathers before it felt clean and I lost quite a bit of hair in tangles etc. I think if you use the right sulfate free shampoo there is no reason not to wash your hair often.

kawaii princess: I started washing everyday with sulfate free silicone free alcohol free shampoo

Star: I tried to shampoo my hair every day my hair became brittle so i stoped and ever since ive done it once a month and i have healthy thicc hair

ya girlpey: I have 4c hair so I shampoo my hair every 2-3 weeks my hair loves it the less I wash more growth works for me my hair is bra strap length!

Lakesha Pannell: I wash and deep condition my hair once a week (every Thursday) my hair loves water :)

Samantha Gigax: This is FACT siSTAR!!! Great message!! And the kind of shampoo used is important too.

Dominique Charisma: it comes from trying to maintain those silly hairstyles wash your hair let it grow and be in its natural state. Nice video

African Mermaid 🧜‍♀️: I shampoo and deep condition once a week. I condition wash or just rinse everyday then add a leave in and oil on top.. my hair is growing like weeds!

Vanessa: I co wash nightly and put in one braid is is mostly dry in am. Doing this a few weeks now I love it

Kaila Russell: I don't wash my hair everyday but I do a tea rinse which helps take out any excessive build up and help my hair to be softer and hydrated. And I wash my hair everyday and condition. It's working okay I'm going to reduce my tea washes and replace it with a once a week hair intensive shampoo and hair mask. But it's been great as I no need to oil my scalp anymore.

I don’t wanna talk about it: I wash my hair once a week, but my hair seems like it’s not growing, and I’m some cases it looks like my hair is shrinking. Can you give me tips on how to grow my hair longer and faster?

Malerie .: But I must still shampoo once a week. If too dry I put conditioner in it while in shower to detangle and do a quick twist out mid week.

Dreamer: Only wash if I get caught in the rain or sweaty from being outside

October Moon: Hi there! Thank you for this video. I wash and condition daily. My shower time is my meditation time.I live in NYC. I need to wash my hair daily. This city is dirty.

chicken wing2.0: I can’t wash my hair everyday with my hair texture

Ms m: shampooing once or twice a week is fine. deep conditioning is as well. some white men believe black women should wash their hair daily.

Farah7519: Why would we need to change the texture of our hair? Or did I misunderstand?

Rickira scott: I have two jobs and I go to college full time and I have no time to wash my hair but I want it to grow. My one day off is Saturday but that’s my study day

L Crumbley: Thank you.

Asia Tyree show: I know nothing about relaxed hair and I know nothing about natural hair I'm caught in the middle I have no knowledge of neither one

Eshel Chokmah: Any tips for people who have hard water? It dries the strands causing it to go frizzy ....

Pokey Journey's: Own wash my hair every day I have to wash it on a bike but the time I come home dye hair smells like sweat Annie's dusty with the do too I live in the desert in sometimes at a nowhere does storms will come out

Ray White: I would assume this would strip your hair of its natural oils.

Lendora Walters: Where do I buy the product and how much does it cost give me the website that I can buy the product in the name I have thick hair

Waldo frm: so you can change your hair texture ?

Malerie .: I have a lot of hair but strands are as fragile as can be. This has been from childhood and is genetic. My thin strands do love water but I have to use a ton and I mean I have to use a ton of slippery conditioning in the shower to avoid breakage. Thats my dilemna and the drying time. LOL.

Love Jones: Can you use a clairifying shampoo in hair that in currently in medium sized braids. No extensions added. I want to clarify my hair but it's in plaits right now. I want the shampoo to be able to get between the braids. Should I take them out first?

Dawn Bell: I think as general hygiene hair should probably be washed everyday, because of all that black women go through in america with racism, white colonialism comes first and everything else comes after that,so being accepted by white society comes first,I'm a licensed cosmetologist,if you wash your hair twice a week, than I will keep you as a client, why because I don't want to smell dirty hair, black people can't typically smell hair that has been a week without a shampoo, but I can,it doesn't smell as bad as someone who goes two weeks,a month or even six months, yes I had a client that proudly said she washed her hair every six months, I don't want to treat someone's scalp for fungus with sea breeze because they were taught to leave weaves in for a year,or because they couldn't afford to go to the salon but biweekly, that black women shouldn't wash there hair often, the old saying was my hair will go back, meaning back to its african origin,if the client has a issue with there ethnicity than they need to seek help from another source, and not her friends or hair dresser, self hate runs deep.

✨Roxie The Dog✨: Racism

Sk Sk: No. Black men or women should comb their hair every other day and mostly moisturize and nourish with natural lotions and oils. Black women should wash their hair once every 2 weeks or more. Cause their hair need to stay protected and moisturised. Even african tribes understand that.. they use animal fat or butter to protect and nourish their hair.

Nikkie Sweet: My hair is natural and shampooing my hair every day would drown it. My hair is WAY too thick to wash it every day. Stop putting out this toxic content.
