No like this one way like there's our sister com: do you guys know that website so for the people that break their hair? Like I have my hair braided, you can buy hair on hair sisters, calm and they ship it to Japan. The only problem is that when the ship, you pay twice the price for the shipping costs, but it works. There'S this new service know, if BC, Japan. I think oh, not just a foreign buyers club but um what they do basic upon a court in California. So, if you're buying from America, United young North America, then you actually have them ship it to that place in California, and then they ship it. If you have more than one order, they combine them and ship it to you in Japan and it's much cheaper. Much much cheaper, i don't know about the taxes - was not so much so what is it again? Fbc japan, if through FB, see Japan, you can find the details um, it's a new mail order, service kind of a thing. I'M not sure I don't have a full details when I tried it and it worked well for me, I saved like fifty dollars off the shipping costs. Oh you know it's really worth ones while I'm lucky that I live in, I'm armory there's a base there. Oh, I know someone that lives on base and Hughes says just order it there cuz it's like border into America yeah. It can take a little bit longer because he lives on the understanding, a Prefecture. I have to wait into our team again or something like that, but in the long run it saves me a lot of money, sir okay and don't forget, I mean you can always cut your hair off. But if you don't worry, oh, you have maintained. So the question now many of our men - listen to this thing says what cut my hair? What what's the advice? What do you think about it like coming up to Japan and do do the big chop yeah? Well, I did the big chop but um. I just did it because I got tired of doing my own here. There'S the option of perming you're here yourself. It takes time, but you can do it. I did it for two years. I just became very tired of doing it, but there's that option if they want just take all, do you take care of your hair here? Well, I relax it by myself because I used to practice in Jamaica so now I'm putting my skills to use. Okay. So do you know about any black women here that relax their hair in a Japanese hair salon? No okay! When I could, I could share a story, so I'm like initially I found this um japanese girl, like I didn't, go to her salon when she came to my apartment and she wanted to experiment with Western type here with non traditional Japanese here, whatever and like after Teaching her the process, the first time she got better. You know second, third time she did support four times for me, but then she migrated you know, and then I was at a loss and I had to change my style. But when I cut my hair off the last time um I went to a barber and I said: look I'll teach you. I will tell you what to do and the guy was willing and ready and he tried and he trimmed it down a bit. And I'm like: okay, not so bad. You know the I wasn't too. Fussy went back a second time and then he got better until I could go to him and I didn't have to explain anything. You knew exactly what to do so. Sometimes you can take the chance and - and you know, try and get someone to understand how it works, but just be patient with the mandala. It won't be exactly where you want it initially and again: you're in the big city, so they're more used to foreigners and probably more pros to experimenting will any minute much aside yeah. I got a big thing living in the countryside. A lot of them don't want experiments mhm, and there are some some Jamaicans black women. I know they relaxed by themselves and the Japanese are excellent cutters. So we do the relaxing and we go to them to style. Give us cuts and some good you've done - that. Okay, yeah, but what's a comp like for continued three 2007 @ 67, 67 yep. This predict right here and somewhere for Cuttino everywhere. In my remember, I do like this. One Japanese here are Japanese women, who are excellent, mohammed iniya mm-hmm. How much would be? How much would it cost to have it planet like she has her hair right now. I have to show you three beautiful the way she did it really nice, nice cornrows. How much would that be worth in Japan? Well in Osaka? That would be like 25 thousand yen, which is about like thirty dollars - almost 300 300 300 dollar - oh, my goodness, so we're looking, ok guys so for the black ladies are coming to Japan. If you can't conroe your hair and you're, going to Japanese salon, be ready to pay, be ready to pay for my hair, for example, I can show you really quickly there. It is so I have extensions that I bought online and it's for each braid in Japan. It'S 300 yen, which is about four dollars per braid. Without the hair you can so your hair can be this hairstyle. Japan is worth more than a thousand dollars in Japan. So just watch out and don't forget this other option like when you initially gather in Tokyo and you meet up with other black community you're, not sure where they're going. But you know exchange information yet because maybe sometime like, if you need someone to braid you here, maybe every three months you could travel to where that person is and then that person can help you out. You know if I can tell jet of African descent get involved richa mention of Lady. Thank you so much for the interview and you

LittleDirtyfromDC: Thank you all for having all this great information here! I would have loved to have had in during my time in Japan. Thanks for looking out for all the brothers and sisters that are coming in the future!

Madamoiselle666: I've been natural my entire life and learned to braid (cornrow) my own hair very young. Although I have locks now, I'm glad I am familliar with caring for my natural hair; I'll be prepared for when I go to Japan!! Thanks so much for this video, it was really informative!!

mantiproductions: wow, this video was just really informative. i was definitely wondering about how hard it was to find hair-care products there. and when you said it was $300 dollars to get your hair braided, my jaw literally dropped. i don't normally wear mine like that (it's normally hot combed or i use a leave-in conditioner to get a curly fro kind of style), but still D: thanks so much for the video.

Darkumbra: This is pretty awesome. I did my big chop 6 months before going to Japan so I already knew which products to stock up on and had a routine when I got there. While there is a good number of Black women at my school in Tokyo, I think I was the only natural. My friends would tell me how they would travel to the military base just to spend $150+ on a perm. All I could do is SMH. I wish I knew how to corn row because there are some brothers that study abroad and always ask me if I can help out.

missk4u: This should prove quite informative for folks wondering about how they'll manage their hair when they get here.

Glass Of Mints: I'm a new JET and I'm African American. I hope I can find your yahoo group and continue to exchange info and tips about hair care while in Japan!

D F: I agree with your idea, now that said starting a business in Japan is very difficult. And the point is that it is quite difficult to find someone to do "black" hair in that country. That is the main reason why this video was made in the first place: to explain how "sisters" took care of their hair while living in Japan

D F: @kireiichi Hello! Yes you can bring your hair straightener in Japan. To buy here i would not advise it as it might be hard to find or very expensive. You can also buy them online. :o)

D F: @missk4u I truly hope so :o). When I first got here figuring out what to do with my hair was not fun at all....You live and learn

shafari jackson: oh my goodness so expensive out there! I will laugh on my way out of the salon before i even think about paying that much to get my hair done. Maybe alot easier to lock your hair before going to japan. I hear alot of black woman do that.

lastcontinent: I wanna see their complete hair appearances

1banryukyu: @cwyjet Ma'am Thank you for posting this video.

D F: @TheDenise399 hello! personally i knew someone on a base but first , he was far and second he went back to the US. When you get to Japan, get involved with the JETsAD and maybe someone could direct you.

D F: @CrystalClearLife thk u! unfortunately i left Japan last September and is now back in Canada. if you have any questions please fire away :o)

Larissa kabeya: sorry I sounded harsh I meant well it is just I want to see us prosper too. I understand but that would be a good side income for many ladies to do informally maybe house salons, just something to think about.

GoddessNans: Anybody know a place/ person who can braid my hair in Hiroshima??? Yoroshiku!!

Larissa kabeya: Why not create hair salons, leave it to black people to always give their business to others. Why would you take that chance to with your hair...sorrry ladies but this sounds really stupid.
