Black Women'S Hair Weaves. Part 1: (Sam'S Response To The Straight Shooter)

I decided to respond to the link below, in regards to hair weave on Black women, titled "Weaves are sick and gross".

It seems that a lot of Black men address the issue without confirming why the weave is considered glamorous for Black women. Here's the first part.

Hey: what's up everybody, would it do Sam sim in the building aka sammy sim? You know the Rambler going in. I was just looking at a video today, my homie straight shooter, you know, say old school. You know. What'S up with you, man, how you doing you guys just saw your video, he was talking about the bad weaves and oh wow. I mean you made some great points today I mean it wasn't a really long video, but I like to take and piggyback on it and address a few things, because you know a lot of black men on YouTube and this isn't symfon as well like we. You know, like I don't see, I don't sit for these women. I know I know the weave is terrible. I don't with it. I hate it as well, but uh. You know. I know why they wear the weave. You know like we all know why they, whether we so I mean, if we're gon, na talk about why these women, whether we let some you know, talk about why the weave is even one in the first place, because the weave is worn, basically because they're media, That is portrayed shows what so, as a white woman, you know what I have blowing in the wind. You know Asian society. How do they view their women, nice Asian woman, with long hair blowing in the breeze? You know I'm saying even in corporate America a lot of these black women, whether we. Why? Because white society, provides the jobs and provides the opportunities for these people well, for black men, I mean there's a stigma for black men who wear dreads in the workplace. So for a woman to come in when her natural hair, it seems a bit I you know even in the work environment had. If you talk about you, a gun or lotion on you know we're gon na bomb or something like that. But I know a female directly from Ghana know few of them, because one actually breeds my dreads, but one girl from Ghana and she keeps her head natural. She puts up those extensions and I had those puffy afro weaves extensions. She places in her hair for the most part, where she's from it's a bit different than what it is here in American society. American Society provides the standards and if black men provided the standards for black women, then we would see more women out here with fros. Like you know, this is bad female that we got on my own video right now. You know even Brandi, like I think, brandi looks sexier what a hair like this. What I hear you know what a nice fro, I'm saying instead of females walking around with, as you call it to mop on their head now. Another thing that kind of got me is um. I have this model where you know when it comes down to black men talking about black women or you know you either doing it for one or two reasons. You know the first reason would be because you are concerned and you're trying to you know, make a change and you're trying to better the black community. So I'm not question people even with Tommy Sotomayor. Sometimes I question you know what is his motive when he talks about weaves all you black women that we but but then your significant other is you know another race. You know they're from a completely different culture. At the very least, all you mean she's, she's mixed or I mean, or at least the children, the mixed I mean you confirm that your children are biracial and you stated that one of the children where we've and I'm not dissing you and I don't want to Be one of the guys, so this is you. I know that a lot of people come on your channel and they talk about your aids and they honestly, don't legitimately have a rebuttal to some of the things that you say. But I agree. I agree that the weave on black women is unbecoming seriously and you know when I do my research on weave. I even find out that light-skinned people where we you know, I even saw weave on a white woman before she um. She was like a brunette, but she had like a little bit of red in her hair and she had a red weave. You know showing up in there and I watched her get it put in. But you know it's a little bit different than black community, because what the weave that she had in her hair, referring to the white woman, matches her natural hair, whereas you're right black women for the most part, the hair, of course, so for a black woman to Have long straight hair, as we see on these pictures, it's a bit. You know, especially for anyone coming up who is used to seeing black hair is being course, you know, and they grew up in the watch a lot of women or they see older women when you're a little girl, I've seen girls who were questionable about their hair. When they got older, they were under the impression that the hair would definitely grow like Beyonce. You know well Briana or one of these other long-haired girls. You know she thought it was something that you eventually grew. Like Howard air grows. Antelopes, you know your head would automatically grow long at one point like like once he got over the age of puberty, then all of a sudden she would have long straight hair, but I'm serious it's going to serious civil body yeah. It is a psychological issue. You know it definitely is I mean: stick about at the tables were turned told me what if there was an incident where the shots were called so much where society deemed the black folks to I don't know, wear mascara because everybody you know wore mascara black men Have to wear mascara tool because white men away mascara is a min away. Mascara Arabs! All of them are wearing mascara, because it's the new thing you know, and they all had fit in part of white society, because now they wear the best care. I mean. You know: should we wear the mascara straight shooter, you know, but then you know we have to think about it like. If we had our together just think about it. We had us together, you would see more black women with dreads and braids and afros, but at this point straight suit I mean: what does it have to do with you? I mean this particulars happen. What does it have to do with you? I mean you can easily tell your daughters, I don't want you wearing weave anymore and I'm sure that your wife doesn't wear weave your wife is right. Wait if I'm not mistaken, so you know that's an issue that really doesn't concern. You man definitely doesn't concern you. That'S almost like speaking to a gay family, a gay community. You know in regards to you know having kids in procreation. You can't talk to a black gay man like that. No, it's just the same situations I mean dad, isn't cool at all. I know these women have enough problems as it is man and yeah. I know they understand that the weave is up. I know some concepts we a lot of these women while getting the we put in their hair. They feel, like you know they think they're gon na look good. They just know that they're gon na look good for a little while as long as that weave it's in their hair, but I agree keeping some fake in their hair for a few months. That is terrible, that's wrong, but I guess my question is: how does it still affect you mean? Are you around a lot of people who have stinky weaves on a daily basis? Oh yeah, why don't you mean you didn't go to work today or yesterday? I don't know when you shot the video, but I know for me: I spent a lot of time around women with weave, especially being a single man. I see a lot of weave or a lot of these women heads and I feel the right to complain because at the end of the day, my intentions, at the very least, is to get with a black woman. You know I'm saying so. If that is my intentions, then I'm gon na do everything I can to convince them to where they had natural as a whole. Was a group not gon na diss them? I mean come on man. What are they gon na dummy even time he sort of MIUI? He does the same thing we-we-we, but has no intentions, I'm around with a black woman or a dark-skinned woman, so yeah man ease up on them straight shooter ease up on them and I'm saying - and you know don't worry about the talking about your aids, but that Issue, I don't think that's an issue that all should be any concern of yours right now, man, you know, I guess you know it's a hot topic and everybody wants to bring it up. You know, but if you can cap a white way, for you know a wife who has long hair Asian way for any type of non American or a woman who doesn't have coarse hair. You have anything to say, and why did your daughter get? We mean? That'S weird: no, I have a little sister who has a daughter. She been doing her hair since she was a baby. Now. My niece is now 7 years of age, yeah she's 78 next year and no she's growing a hair since birth. I have is real nice. She gets it hot combed every now and then but her hair isn't a nice nice nice fro at times and for the most part she gets it braided her hair is long not an inch of we not an inch and I'm saying - and if you want to Talk about just the fact that these women wear we've got to think about why they, whether we straight-shooter! Let'S talk about that, you know: let's talk about the fact that a lot of these women, whether we've - because you know the hair - didn't grow previously because of what the perm and then we got a backup before that. You know the prom is putting a lot of these people's hair because of their mothers, their mothers put the prom in their hair because you know they didn't have enough time to spend on doing these women here and sitting in front of the stove with a hot Comb and combing it out or you know, putting the Borat's braiding it up real good, and every day these girls can go to school with the barrettes, with the different colors and the balls with the different colors that are bought red. You know they didn't have this. It'S an economical thing, and I know this will coming up when I went to school. You see a lot of these girls who had barrettes in their hair different colors every day and he wore the brand new tennis shoes and you know they had the brand new. My pony toys - and you know they always had some extra snacks in their lunchbox, whereas you see the quiche in the laquida growing up in elementary in middle school, her hair was never done like he looked like she had a dry perm and her hair was tied Up in a rubber band, one rubber band, no barrette, sometimes maybe a ball red, but you know it was just a little small little ponytail it looked like a pterodactyl haircut. She had a pterodactyl looking here, like her hair was all pushed to the back with just a little skinny tiny, a little sprout at the end, no hanging time whatsoever, and then he had the little sprinkles of hair on the side on top of their ears. You know they come from poor communities. They'Re like these women, I've seen girls who grew up in elementary in middle school. They hair has never been done. Even for the yearbook picture. I pull up the yearbook picture some of these girls. Even back then, their hair was not done. You know the hair look like they just got out of a fight, you see them saying, but I it's attributed to a broken economy. It'S attributed to lack of economics and that's why, still, today, all right go out of these women. They want to look pretty or you know they want to become successful. I mean you look at some of the black women who have these high positions like Nora Tansa needs, cheating, the Tanzanian lady wears her lone Jessica. Rabbit weave works for a bank firm, you know, and she has two answers to Presidents and vice presidents and every day for success. But if there was a group of Tanzanian black men here in the community or even a group of black men, then we'd be able to set up the rules and say hey baby girl. You ain't got to come over here with this weed. You won't easy wig in here with this weave. You know you would see a lot of more afro puff women, chicks and we honestly straight-shooter. That'S my thing. I mean if a chick had short hair. She hasn't started as long as she got a nice line into something real good, my chick with some sort yeah. I would dig that as long as its original, a chick with a nice truth, I would dig that I love like that. You know, but I don't like women who have we've either, but I'm not gon na sit in this one. You know if I'm not gon na, take a claim on that man. You know I'm or I'm gon na go ahead and get out of here. You know - and I hope you cooled man you know what's your day and stuff like that cuz I know they'd a mess which I watched a couple of your videos and yeah. You have trolls and then you have people calling you old and like that. My only issue is, you know: there's this whole weave situation, it's bad! It'S bad, but you know got to understand why it's there. So I like to see you do a video on that man. You know saying because your videos all good, but you know like just be more of a help to the black community, because I mean from a real stand standpoint. I don't know it just sometimes becomes this song. Sometimes it just feels like some of these guys. They come across as sellouts like you know. It doesn't affect them anymore, but they're, making these videos talking about our black woman ain't black woman, like black woman, do not affect Tommy Sotomayor at all yeah. I don't know we mess his way, but I know he's not messing with the dogs consistent yeah, I'm saying I know this. I know he's not messing with the dogs can sister with coarse hair, and it just makes me think I mean what happened to you, guys man, I mean there's these the women that on you guys who treated you guys like to make you saying you know what I'M not gelling with these type of women, no more! I'M not dealing with these type of women, any more I'm going to around with this white here or this light-skinned with long. You know previous hair and that's what it's going to be, and I can't rock like that man I mean I can only convince them but straight-shooter, you know you get your shot on. Man get shoot on. He was kind of sick. The other day man you had like a cold and man. I was like wow well homeboys, feeling bad man. I was feeling bad for you. Man was like man. I hope he feels better. I see it master. I see you feeling a little better. So that's good! You know so you have a good day. You guys enjoy it. Man, Sam Sam and I'm out, you

Sheree Morgan: I am wearing my hair natural right now, but I also like to use a flat iron on my hair. I personally have never worn a weave. The cost is ridiculous!

LiveandLove: My take on weave and wigs: I personally do not wear wigs and weaves, but I do not judge people who do. Weaves and wigs are ok but can become nasty if not maintenance properly. People wear weaves and wigs for their own personal reason so I try not to judge all that wear them.

The Straight Shooter: Before I go in I'd like to ask, how many of my videos have you watched?
