Easy Hairstyle For Little Black Girls | Braided Ponytail Updo

Hey guys and welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel if it is your first time here, my name is Portia, and today this video is gon na be featuring. My kiddos. This right here is a Raya look at those cheeks she's, so cute. So this is my youngest daughter she's, one years old. She is 15 months for you guys who like to get super technical. The first thing that I did here since I'm talking so much already is: I just sprayed her hair with a little bit of conditioner and water and then added some Shea miracle. I believe it's called it's my Africa's best and it smells so good you guys it smells so good. I just be loving to sniff all on them, as I mean as if you don't love to like love and kiss on your kids, necks in their chunky. Little cheeks already, but when they smell good it just makes it that much better right. Is it just me? It'S just me, I'm just obsessed with these little cheeks but anywho. So the first braid that we're doing here is gon na, be the center braid. It'S pretty self-explanatory, you're gon na part down the middle, and just you know, get that braid in the center um, but I'm gon na lie. This is the hardest part, because sometimes I'll notice, after the fact that that braid, it's a little bit off to the left or a little bit to the right, but um get out of my baby's face like nobody should be in her face like that to be Like oh, my gosh, her hair is not centered and she's she's a baby um, but yeah you guys in the second part of this video. I am gon na be doing this exact same style on her sister's hair and I am gon na be using weave and doing feet in braids. That way, it looks super natural, so stay tuned for that, and then also if you have a child, who is a super wiggle worm, because I feel like I got that a lot on my last video where it's like. Oh, my gosh, I don't know how you get that girl to stay steel um just as a pro tip, especially if it's like you're new to doing your baby's hair or whatever, if you put them on the bathroom, sink and turn on the faucet and give them A toothbrush or let up with your feet in the water that just makes kids stay still y'all like that, is the best place to do hear this. It'S my fave. Please did you hear because they just stay still so still so. Try that out, you guys and let me know if that works for you. How are you you? No all right? Why? It'S crazy, but I'm just gon na go ahead and part her hair and down the middle. Just know that the higher you do this part the higher her ponytail is gon na be so I do like to do it pretty like right behind her ear, if not like mid ear. If that makes sense cuz I like the ponytail to be visible on the top of her head. So yeah, that's. Why part it where it is? If she turned turn her head there, we go so yeah. That'S pretty much where I like to part it and that's where, like the braids, are gon na meet in the middle to form at the pony, so yeah I'm gon na go ahead and take my spray bottle again. This is just some conditioner and water. It'S the 3 minute miracle. I pretty sure that's what it's called by Ozzy moist and then I'm just gon na spray that all over, but she wasn't really liking it. She saw me how nasty it is and yeah, even though it smells delicious. She saw yeah. So I'm not really sure where her deal is, but she she just kept saying it was nasty and she wanted me to stop umm, but yeah. I'M gon na just apply that all throughout her hair and then I'm gon na go in with that. It'S actually Africa's best Shea, let's see shea miracle. There we go just the pair lotion, Harrison yeah yeah. You know everything so ill DUI. So yeah everything was nasty to her, but you know whatever her hair smells delicious. I don't know what she's talking about, but, like I mentioned so this is the hardest part. When I start off with that, first braid just putting it right in the center of her head. This was really hard. I normally like to have her looking at me so that I can get this right. I feel like it was straight right now, when I part of it, but I went ahead and had her turn around, so you will see that the part does changed a little bit and that's cuz. I had her again turn around and look at me and I feel, like I don't know it's just it's just dingo as well, but yeah. This is the hair that we're gon na be using any old hair will do the trick, and I like to just take it piece by piece. So this little section is what I'm gon na cut off first to make a little strip and then I'm gon na take some Murray's edge wax and I'm going to apply that to the front of her hair just to kind of slicking down, and also I'm gon Na play it to like the side where it's parted. That way, when I start braiding, I don't like grab any of that here. It'S like mess up her parting. If that makes sense, so that's why I like laid it down on the sides all right. So here's the tricky part you want to go ahead and device. Your hair just get small pieces like so, and I normally like to put it on on my leg or my knee, and I put it on the side that I'm going to be grabbing the hair from so. The side that I'm gon na be feeding in from is the side that you want the hair. If you are used to doing feed ins or if you're like left-handed, you might want it on your on your right side, but yeah, I'm gon na start the braid and I'm trying to slow this down for you guys, but keep in mind she's, two and yeah. So start the braid and you're just gon na breathe like normal and then once you get to a certain point where you want to add in a piece of hair. Put your hand like I'm gon na stop right here and then I'm going to put the hair under my middle finger. So it's gon na lay it there, but the front piece is going to go with that front piece in the front. If that makes sense, and that back piece is going to lay flat with the back piece and I'm just going to incorporate it in the three pieces of hair that I'm already breeding with, I hope that makes sense. It'S like so hard to explain, and it's so hard to. I get this really really precise and show you on camera, especially with a baby. So I hope I'm explaining this right guys, but I want to grab another piece right here and do the same thing so put it under my middle finger and can join the pieces. You just kind of see me incorporating it all together. So I hope this explains it. If you look at her hair, it all looks really seamless. You really can't tell there's weave in it at all a lot of people who probably know her, probably whoops but yeah. Actually, I had a little hair in here and it's not that she like absolutely needs it, but I feel like it makes her hairstyle lasts longer and with her being older, I mean I don't mind, redoing a rise here, because she's one she has a smaller head, But Sakai is hair, I feel like she needs a more of a protective style that lasts a while. So that is why I add the extensions in because, if I braid her hair, naturally I noticed that I have to braid it. It probably lasts only a good week, and I want I like this to last, at least like two weeks, so that I can just moisturize her hair and yeah. I keep it yeah. This is like explanatory. I hope I explained this well but yeah, I'm gon na braid this braid to the end. You guys can really like go anywhere with this style. So with the riot I like to like leave her with a little puff, but with zakaria I normally braid it to the end, I'll put it in like a top knot, but when I'm done or I'll put beads on it, so it's really versatile. You can do just about anything with this style, but yeah make sure that you break these braids to the end and just look at how seamless this braid looks up close, so you cannot tell there is weave in it right. I can't tell, can you tell I don't like when, like young kids have like that really like, I can see that knot in the front of their head, like girl, get that weave out that baby's here, I'm such a hypocrite um but yeah. So I went ahead and braided the left side of her hair off camera cuz, my phone ringing Ally and I started talking but yeah. Let me show you guys again how we did this feed-in braid, so I'm just gon na part, her hair again and then again I'm going to lay out the key to feed and braid. Is you got to lay out those pieces and part those pieces of hair before you start braiding, so lay them out, have them already sectioned and then start braiding and add them in so you got put a little more edge control and that just makes the hair Lay flat she was mad at this point like girl, I'm done I'm done. I don't want to do this, no more. Let'S be done so you know what I had to do. I had to go. Get her some snacks but yeah go ahead and again start your braid, like you normally would and then under my left finger my middle finger, I'm going to add the hair. So this time it is a little bit more sped up because yeah it just is but yeah. I hope that you guys can still tell what I'm doing so. Every time I get to a good point undo my middle finger. I add a piece of hair and I'm really like laying the loop under my finger. If you guys can't tell so lay the loop under your finger can join that first piece with the front of the hair or you know when you braid. You have three strands. So you're really just putting each piece with a strand. If that makes sense, I hope it makes it but yeah you guys. In the beginning, I did cut the hair in half. I recommend just using the long pieces, even though she's a kid, and I don't really like. I don't want her hair, like I, don't want it super long, weave or anything, but it's better to just do it long rather than the short pieces, because it just comes out better in the end, so don't cut the pieces of we've, just cut it in half. So that you get or cut it off of the off of the big piece, if that makes sense, I don't know if I'm making sense but leave the pieces long so yeah by now, you guys should be in the swing of things. We'Re gon na. Just do this all over her head, so we're just parting and doing that feed-in braid. So for the time being, I'm gon na try and shut up and be quiet whatever, but I am gon na. Let the video play while you guys watch me just a braid that way if you get stumped anywhere, you can just look at my hands and kind of remember that put that piece under your middle finger and keep on braiding I'm the type of person where I Actually hate having to rewind a video a thousand times, so that's why I'm just gon na go ahead and show on camera. I'M gon na try and speed it up a little bit so that you don't get too bored, but I am gon na just keep on so that you guys can see the full thing rather than just skipping to the end.
