The best hair tips for 2022 - it's a new year, maybe you want a new hairstyle, a new haircut new hair color, whatever it is, i'm going to give you some great tips that you can apply to your own personal hairstyle for 2022.. So, first of all, let's start with: do you want to make a change? I get a lot of comments and people asking me like salonga. I want a new hairstyle. What do i say? How do i ask my barber? What do i do? Blah blah blah all those things. First of all, you just have to find styles that you like whether it's an actor you know a musician. You know a model influencer or whatever. It is find a variety of hairstyles that you actually really like, and you could see yourself wearing them all right. So that's the first thing save photos to your phone. Save images to your computer, whatever you got, ta do save some images. This way you can refer to them, for when it comes time to getting your appointment now before you even get to the appointment, you need to be realistic with your own hair type. Now i've talked about this in a number of videos, but you what you need to really concentrate and focus on and be 100 sure, is that your hair type is the type and texture of the hairstyle that you really really want. For example, let's just say this mannequin right into here, alright say this: mannequin has a natural wave uh, some natural volume to it. Super super thick hair, and you maybe want something like this all right, which is more on the straighter side. So you have to think to yourself: hmm, my hair texture. Never ever ever looked like this, it's always been wavy. It'S always been kind of like wild and coarse and a little bit on a thicker side. Can my hair actually look like that other type of hairstyle? That i want, i don't know, i don't know if i have that hair type chances are when you go into the salon or the barber shop. You know one of two things could happen. The professional may think they know what they're doing and may not even analyze. Your hair properly attempt to give you the haircut that you want and it may end up looking horrible, because you don't have that right, hair, texture and they weren't truthful and honest with you to tell you hey, look your hair just won't do this and then you Have a really horrible haircut and then you know you hate your hair. You hate your stylist. All these things can happen, so just make sure that before you go in to get your new haircut, that you have the right, hair, texture, the hair density and your hair. Can achieve that style? It'S going to save you a lot of time, money and headaches. Next. Are you looking to change your style from you know growing it out, so a lot of people have been. You know, commenting. I want to grow my hair longer i've. It'S been, you know three months, four months, i've gotten a haircut. What do i do? Should i go get a trim? Should i chop it off to achieve a certain style? Well, two things. Firstly, it comes down to where your hair is at now and the type of look that you want. Okay, so, let's just say your hair once again, you've got a short kind of tick, tock or haircut like this all right, a hairstyle like this, but ideally you want like an undercut like this all right to go from the this. To this is fairly extreme. All right, it's a completely different haircut. So what you need to do is you need to understand what will it take to get to that specific type of look now, if you go and chop off and and create an undercut on a very, very, very short style, it may end up looking like you Have a mushroom on your head: it just may not be balanced enough or you do get that type of haircut, but you style it very very differently. Maybe you slick it all back. You have to embrace a style. So there are times where you have to let your hair grow out of control and and much longer than you want in order to achieve a certain look or you maybe leave the top and let it keep growing and growing and growing. And then you just really neatly taper the sides down shorter. It may not be a full undercut, but what it's doing it's allowing the top to get to a certain length like, for example, in through here, say: oh, you have hair under here, but at you know to some at some point. Your hair will be long enough where it could take six seven months for your hair to get this long and then once the top is this long um, then you can achieve the undercut and then you'll be maybe good to go. You can say you're a stylist or barber hey. My hair is super long. Now i want to create that undercut. I'Ve been growing the top of my hair. I love the length of where it's at, let's create that new haircut, that i've always wanted. Okay, so it really comes down to finding the right individual. That'S going to help you on your hair journey on your hair process. It'S very, very, very important. I'Ve seen so many comments from people saying you know i went to my stylist. I went to my barber and they completely hacked my hair. I'Ve been trying to brew it out for six seven months and they chopped it off and oh my gosh. Well, you know i'm sorry, but you should have known that whoever is cutting your hair was a hack from the beginning. All right never try anything. Here'S my next tip all right. My next big tip, don't ever experiment with someone who you've never been to before a professional, whether it's a hairstyle so they're, a barber, whoever it is, do not take the chance unless you have studied them. You'Ve seen their work. You have, you know, read reviews about them. You'Ve you've really checked out their capabilities before you go and risk everything on your hair trust me it's better to keep your hair longer. Let it grow out and find the right person, maybe pay a little bit more money. Travel a little bit further in order to find the right professional to help you, because, if god forbid, you're growing your hair out for five six seven months, you go to somebody and they hack your hair off. They completely butcher your hair, it's back to square one and i've seen so many comments, and let me know if you've experienced this. Please leave a comment if you have experienced something like this, where you took a risk, went to somebody for the first time and they completely destroyed your hair and you're like oh, my gosh. What have i done so really really do your research, okay, it's very important and and just make a hair goal. It'S like it's like you know, dieting you want to lose weight. You want to lose. You know 15 pounds in six seven months whatever it is. You want to do it's the same thing with your hair. You want to get your hair to a certain state, a certain length, a certain look and realize that you know hair grows. I don't know you know half an inch to three quarters of an inch a month or so i've seen some grow a little bit quicker. But you know your hair grows a certain time frame. So do the math? How long does your hair need to get right to the style that you want it to be? Just keep it very, very simple: keep pulling your hair down until it's like you know, check the length like like this. You know just every day or, however, once a week just pull your hair down and if it's only up here clearly it's not long enough until you can pull your head down to the length that you want. Guess what! Then it's long enough for the style that you want. Well, please, let me know if you found these tips helpful for you. You know everything is a process, whether it's hair color, you want to go from. You know curly, hair, to straight hair. It'S it's either a huge chemical process. You want to get a perm, you know all these things anytime. It'S like there's a chemical involved, especially bleaching. Your hair coloring, your hair, there's a chance that it could damage your hair and change the texture of your hair completely until your new growth, your new hair, grows in okay, so it doesn't mean your hair is going to be curly forever or straight forever. Remember you have hair that naturally grows in and that is your natural hair texture, your natural hair, color. Everything else that was done on it before has to either grow out or get cut out, or you know, do another chemical process. On top of that, which then furthers the risk of more damage, so just keep in mind that everything is a process whatever it is. You want to do be patient, have a set style in mind that you want to achieve and just go for it. Let me know in your comments below. Do you want in my comments? Do you want to change your style? Have you ever experienced anything? I'Ve talked about i'd love to know. So, thanks for watching and i'll see you soon, you

Saya's simp who is stuck in a rabbit hole: My hair is in its best it has ever been. I have never had my hair this long, the length is perfect to me because I can manipulate it to look both short and long. I have varieties of hairstyles that I can do, which I could not do before. It feels, me

Christoph Dewolf: I had been growing my hair for the better part of a year when I decided a little trim to neaten the ends would be nice. I was in a different part of town and on a whim walked into the nearest salon. The stylist was doing a pretty good job with the instructions I gave her, “I am growing it long and just want to neaten the ends”, when all of a sudden she trimmed my bangs way too short. I don’t know if I didn’t communicate my wants accurately enough to her, or if it was simply her mistake, but I’ve been pretty ticked off about it for almost half a year now as it’s finally returning to the length it was back then. The difference at the time seemed pretty obvious though.

ForwardLove: Yes, I am experimenting with my hair at the moment … I’m very happy with how it’s going, I am taking baby steps towards the style I want because I don’t want any sort of stress or dramatic change. So far so good!

Jiří Zalubil: I have wavy type 2B hair (atleast I would say) it's coarse, it's quite thick. The thing is I always hated it and always wanted straight hair, but 3 months ago something switched and I got bored of typical undercut hairstyle even tho it looks good. Stopped wanting straight hair and embraced my natural wave. So now I'm growing it out and waiting how will it look, I have some hairstyles in my mind already, but still want to give my hair some time.

Josel Sabelino: Thank you steven. This is very educational. ❤️ I've learned alot from you. Thank you for the tips

Will: My only other tip is to have a backup haircut you like for all lengths in case the barber/stylist does butcher your haircut.

BrM: Hello Stephen, I have thick wavy hair, what shampoo and conditioner do you recommend? The hair (when I lay it on my face) is coming further than my lips.

Spencer: Hey Stephen! I’m a guy with long hair been growing it out for about 3 years now my last hair cut was my inspiration cause I’ve really never had a good haircut in my life and just kinda got fed up I’d always blame my hair type but after watching you I know that’s not the case guess it’s just because the best barber I’ve ever had was at great clips I was just wondering if there’s any chance I could get a hair cut from you?! Thank you for all of the amazing content sir!

keira: Well, When i was 12 i went to go and get a pixie cut ( my hair at the time was about 8 inches and it was a big deal for me) I went to a stylist I never went to before. She was sweet but didn’t believe that I actually wanted a pixie cut and gave me a bob instead which seems to be a big issue with people switching from long to short. If it werent for my mom I would of walked out very unhappy! So if you want a pixie cut, make it very clear you want nothing more than that :]

MDShopper: When I was young I had super long hair. I wanted a Tawny Kitaen kind of gradient and the hairdresser gave me a super short mullet. After the cut she said to me: I didn't understand what you wanted. I was miserable the whole year after!

CallMeAm1r _: Ahahaha yeah I tried middle part last year (from side). I grew my hair for what felt like 5 years I told my barber about how I want to just trim it and fix it nor necessarily cut it to become shorter. He ended up cutting so much off I starting to cry on the inside, and it looked like I had a mushroom on my head becouse there was no layering and the middle part was just a straight line and not getting longer from the back to the front. I cried that night lmao Trying again with a new barber

Froggy The Kid: The worst part about risking it with a new stylist is after they butcher the haircut, you have to smile and give them a 10 dollar tip. I was furious lol.

Philip Kinnair: As you were making this I was getting my hair hacked I had it past my shoulders wanted a little off to try a new style and got butchered the shop had good reviews I don’t know how to find the right barber

Emily Hanke: I'd like to make a request! Can you maybe make a tutorial for Sam winchesters haircut? But not later seasons, season two or 3 or even young Jared Padalecki (around 2005) would be great! And how do you style your hair to stick out on the sides like his hair?

crogotem: one time i said to my barber to NOT cut off my hair, and she said something like "oh im just gonna cut some parts but not the length!" then when it was done my hair went from long to short

Based and Epic MRSA: Don't experiment on a new/unknown stylist. Lesson learned when my new perm fried my hair . Back to growing it for another 6-7 months

Will Will: What should I do with very thin hair which is quite long ( goes to the mouth at the front ) ? I also have some sort of receding hairline which makes good haircuts harder to get

supsjdjdjd: Like I am speechless, I showed my barber a pic of a guy with the tik tok hair style, hair clearly going down to his nose and covering his forehead, he tells me "say no more". I also tell him to cut it a bit just to layer it but to keep it long (hair was already a good 8 inches). The pic I showed him had the guy with sides connected to the top, like it blended. Ok so what does he do? He pulls out the clipper and starts giving me a disconnected fade.. I’m like tf no stop that’s not what I asked for. Ok so what he did instead is give me a disconnected scissor under-cut which is way shorter than what I wanted. Ok whatever, that’s not the end of the world, the important part is the top. I kid you not the guy cuts off a good 6 inches off my hair! WTF. It’s not even long enough to cover my forehead. Can this get worse? YEAH. He makes me a weird ass Fohawk… The guy I showed him had his hair down, he must be preparing it to idk maybe style it downward after? I am sitting in the chair confused af, but hoping this guy isn’t serious. He is, he pulls out the hair spray and makes my new fohawk ROCK HARD. WHEN THE FUCK DID I ASK FOR THIS?! At this point I am laughing my ass off, I can’t believe this dude. I show the pic of what I wanted to the other barber and he’s like "oh don’t worry I’ll fix it for you". Oh great they’re fixing it. He proceeds to cut off another half inch, my hair is covered in wet grease from all the product they put in and it looks horrible, my hair barely reaches my eyebrows.. I’m looking like I have a French crop but worse lmao. Took a shower when I got home and tried to style it how I wanted but they really fucked up my shit. Probably going to be a good 4 months of growth before even getting close to what I want. Like what could I even have done different? I showed him a pic, explained pretty well, i don’t understand how this even happened. Unbelievable.

Diamond Shwarz: I have my hair middle part, but the ploblem is the hair on the parting it sticking straight out do you have any idea how this happened? Should i cut the hair on the parting so it not sticking out?

Om Dange: i have zayn malik kind of hair, wavy but my sides aren't that good. I want to grow out my hair like his 2014 style but my sides aren't supporting. I currently have a top knot undercut. also I want to style it like cole Sprouse's hairstyle. I believe it would be possible. any tips !!!
