Hey guys welcome back to my channel. My name is J glue, Mitchell also known as natural rain, and if you're new here don't forget to subscribe down below and then click the notification bells, so you don't miss my new upload. So welcome back welcome back so today I'm gon na be talking about natural hair trends that I refuse to follow. I just refuse - and I will say like being in front of the natural hair community and doing YouTube, and everything like that. I get a lot of pressure to do certain things that I'm gon na be honest with you, you're never going to see me do, but I wanted to make this video so that y'all aren't surprised or you guys, don't feel like I'm ignoring you or anything like That, because I have my reasons why I just some things that they don't make sense to me, make it make sense, so this is not to bash anybody who wants to do these things to their hair? This is only to say that I do not want to do these things. It'S in my hair, and I feel, like I shouldn't, have my choice taken away from me. Okay, I just don't feel like that should happen. Just because I do not your hair doesn't mean. I got ta do some of that crazy stuff that just common sense. For me, it just tells me like no that's a bad idea. Y'All ask me how I grow my hair out long. I don't do crazy stuff. Nothing like that crazy, nothing over the top and nothing also a shameless plug. If you have not seen my video on how I grow my hair long cuz, I just one of my top top top top questions. I have the whole playlist I'll. Have it linked up there, so you guys can check that out, but right now I'm talking about trends trends, you don't stop by Jaylon. I wrote it down, so I could stay on topic so number one thing I'm not doing is a hundred hairstyles and I say a hundred hairstyles cuz. I know I'm not actually going to do a hundred hairstyles, but some people be getting pretty close and I'm gon na be honest with you. When it comes to hairstyle creativity, I'm just not there, I just don't I don't. I started my channel to help people learn how to have healthy hair so that they can't do whatever hairstyle they want. But me there are people that are so gifted in the hair style category and it's just me to be honest. You may get a hairstyle here and there and that's a blessing, but I'm not gon na. Do it all the time. I just know myself, and I know I just wouldn't keep up with that. I don't think the hairstyles will be Q and I feel like so many hairstyles have already been done. So just please don't expect to see a crazy amount hairstyles on my channel. If I have it, if I have an idea I'll share with you guys, but if I don't I'll show you guys how I wear my hair and things that I want to try, but some things I do that I don't do. I don't know how to do. One or I just I, wouldn't wear my hair like that. I really love my hair pretty much this in this row, so you you won't see that and, like I said when I started my channel, it was all about how to grow your hair, long and healthy. The healthy way also how to color your hair. All of those things like when it comes to like what works for your hair type, what products go all together, how to do wash and gos how to grow your hair long, how to keep it thick and healthy and all those things I'm your girl for that. But when it comes to hairstyles as of right now, just don't expect it. Please number two: these are some trends that um, I don't know who came up with them and I do understand it gets a lot of views and stuff like that, and I ain't hating on nobody go get your coins go get whatever whatever, but I just won't Be doing them and that is Vaseline, I'm not putting Vaseline on my hair. I cannot. I cannot physically get myself to do that, just because, if I felt like anything, is going to damage the hard work that I put in it after telling you guys how to get your hair healthy and all that stuff, I'm just gon na go put vaseline in My hair, that don't add up, I, like consistency. I just know I work so hard to get my hair this way and I don't think the amount of video views or what have you is worth possibly damaging. My hair at all for one video, I think not and then the other thing it kind of goes along the same is blue magic. I don't know that if y'all notice or not - but it's like this Jill, it's like an old school show that you know mom's used to use back in the day on their daughters hair. But it ain't really meant for washing girls. It'S kind of meant, like a Joe to like slick up your hair and stuff, like that. I personally would not be doing that because I wouldn't do that. I just wouldn't do that like I don't want to see the point of doing it. I it doesn't make any sense, it doesn't add up to me so number three is people have been asking me this a lot or not really a lot, but I have gotten a few comments about it and I just wan na, let you know right now: it's Not gon na happen and it's not because I don't want to give you guys what you want to see, but I'm afraid is: don't mess up my hair, something crazy and that is that twisting machine the as seen on TV twisting machine, I feel like that machine Is more work than the payoff, so it's supposed to, if you guys, haven't seen it already it's supposed to twist your hair for you, so you just put your hair in the little. I don't even know the little compartments and then it twists it up, but what it looks like it's doing to me is it's nodding, your hair up. So do you know the washday that I would have after that, after nodding my hair up and then some people were saying it's too tight on their scalp and it hurts - and I just feel like all the time I'm taking to put my hair in these little Two compartments and get it to twist up and then I'll Ravel it a little bit cuz. It was too tight. I could just twist it with my fingers and be done with it, and that is the quickest most efficient, time-saving um. What else and inexpensive way to do it? So that's the way imma stick to tried-and-true, because I wasn't impressed now if I was impressed, if it was a twisting machine that didn't look like it knotted up your hair, that did your hair and half the time. Sign me up if y'all can find that I'll do a video on it, but until then it ain't happening. Let'S see, let's see, let's see a okay, so the next one, um people love their hair growth hacks and I love a good hair girl tack. If I actually think it's going to work so the next one is a vapor rub: people rub it on their scalp. Now, I I don't know about y'all and how I grew up, but I don't know like the black and Hispanic culture, whatever I'm not really sure which, when it came from, I know it is a little bit. You know from the Hispanic culture, but we use Vicks VapoRub for everything if you got a cold, just rub it on your chest, if you're having a bad day, just rub it on your chest, what's another thing whatever it is, vixx is supposed to be able to Fix it right, but what I don't believe it can do is grow my hair out, like I don't think like people just rub it on their scalp and they think it grows their hair out, and I just don't see first is not intended for that and I Feel like there should be a disclaimer in the beginning of the video like use at your own risk, because this could really mess up your hair. I just don't think it's a good idea. I'M listen. My hair is growing, my hair is flourishing and I don't think I have to use Vicks VapoRub to get it to do that. I just I don't see it personally for myself and then the next thing is also a hair grow thing and y'all may have thought that I forgot. But there was this trend going around where people were using Monistat now Monistat is for yeast infections, but people. I don't know who decided you know what I've just got some of this at the crib, I'm gon na put it on my scalp and put it on my hair. I see if it grows. Who came up with that idea? How do you take something so abstract? So abstract that doesn't even belong on your hair. That isn't even kind of closely related and say you know what this could be a hair girl thing. I don't I don't understand, and people were saying it was like a couple of ingredients in it that can help grow your hair, why don't you just go out and buy those specific ingredients and use products as their it intended to be used like that? Just confuse me, but y'all thought I forgot, shame. Shame Terrell your hair to grow your hair. I mean, did it really work? Was it worth it? I did not forget a terrible terrible phase on the natural hair community, in which I could forget it, but I can't - and so if you want to see me, do that your how to look? How about you doing it nope, okay! So, on a brighter note with that being said, all the things that I won't do, I'm still very open to trying new, innovative things that I think could possibly work or just to show you guys how it works on my hair, I am all for that. As long as it does not damage my hair's integrity, its strength, its length, the color anything like that that I'm good so like, for example, a couple of natural hair trends that I actually really like. People are coming out with. So many new hair products for a natural hair, because it's a big booming business. We spend a lot of money on our hair. Black women spend so much money on their natural hair that it creates a market, a huge market for brands like it's worth getting because women or black women were always wanting to get our hair done. We'Re always gon na make sure that here it's together. So when people make these innovative products, it is a money maker. So I'm have some honorable mentions. I know I got ta, bring it on a positive point: the Felicia brush. I really like that brush I'll, have it linked down below for you guys, but I really like that brush. It works really well and um. Actually, let me get it okay, so y'all. This is the Felicia brush and it just kind of moves with your hair, which is something that I really like: they're, not easily movable, but it doesn't snag your hair as much and when I do detangle my hair. I use this on my usually finger detangle. For my washing boats, but I use this bad boy and I think this is really innovative for a natural hair, because we always have that issue with our girls, basically being ripped out cuz. I nobody camp until now and then another thing that I think is really innovative. Is these bad boys right here? I have a video using these away formers, so you can go check it out. I have it linked up there, but this is innovative. This we can do something with this. I'Ve never seen anything like this other than the curlformers, but it's new, and it's something I feel like it's worth trying and I feel like people can do other things with it like right now we're in the beginning stages. We don't know all that we can do with these new products uh, but I'm telling you the way people are breaking out into the market. The way there are so many things to try for like actually intended for our natural hair is bomb.com. Also, I do have a video on this Felicia brush. If you guys want to check it out, I have it linked up there as well, always with the shameless look, Alan okay. Okay, so I really hope you guys enjoyed this video. I want you to comment down below and let me know natural hair trans that you refuse to follow you just won't you don't care how trimming it is it ain't gon na happen and don't forget to give this video a thumbs up if you liked it and I'Ll see you in my next video bye, guys

NaturalReign: What are some natural hair trends you will not be participating in??

alyshia edwards: Back when they didn’t have all these natural products my mom would use grease on my scalp and my hair was down my back . It’s all about how you take care of it, but the rest I would never try.

Rhythm and Hughes: I wouldn’t call hair grease a trend. My hair is as long as yours annnnnnd I’m gonna keep using hair grease. When did it stop working? I think the trend was “canceling” it.

Heaven Renee: Jalen:”I don’t wear 100 styles” Me: “girl me either” Also me: “hmmm... what style next???”

Lily Rose: Those hair growth trends got out of hand at one point. They had my grandma out here using car oil on her head. ‍♀️

_Vanntastic: Blue magic is a bomb sealant. It won’t cause “damage” unless you’re not clarifying, which you should be doing anyway. ‍♂️ but everything ain’t for everybody so I respect it.

heyy_43: Sis blue magic as a sealant after leave in and a cream tho don’t knock it til y’all try it y’all!

Sassy Belle: I usually love your opinions but Grease slander ? Oh no. Let’s not forget what our mommas used on our heads to keep it from looking like an ant army got into it. Grease will always be respected Nie the Vaseline a little ghetto but still

lavinder11: Grease isn't a trend, not using it became one. As for me, I'm not into fermented rice washes, tension method, Monistat on my scalp and any other "trick" people peddle to grow hair... which is determined by genetics. And don't feel bad about hairstyling. I think doing all those styles so often contributes to people not retaining length.

Victoria Ingram: Blue magic is great! I actually use it on ALL my braid outs and twists outs and they turn out bomb. It’s heavy and my hair likes heavy products. I am a fannnn of the OG blue magic . Blue magic and eco gel = bombbb hairstyles

RaquelliBee: Blue magic anf vaseline are the same thing. Blue magic is petroleum jelly mixed with oil and fragrance

Alexia: The natural hair trends I won’t try is using petroleum on my hair. I stopped using it back in the late 1990s because it was drying out my hair. Yes, My mother used it on my hair when I was a kid but just because my mother used to it doesn’t mean I have to go back to that.

Kia Roane: I agree sis. My hair isn’t as long as yours but I have people constantly asking me how did I grow my hair, and I think my simple styles bother them. My answer is always the same. People are just always going to be looking for a magic trick. The truth of low manipulation and not sacrificing the health of your hair for a hairstyle is not what people want to hear.

Aliah B: That fro is just giving me allll sorts of life

Cas Velpres: i feel like research, knowledge and preference go a long way when it comes to natural hair...

V MD: I remember the Monistat trend... I never tried it but some where saying the ingredients killed scalp fungi. So if your hair wasn't growing, and you thought it may have been due to some kind of infection or fungus, you would try Monistat to stave off a doctor's visit.

1GoldenBreeze: I thought Blue Magic was a hair grease. LOL The trend that I won't do is slicking my edges. It looks cute, but not for my edges. I just want to leave them alone and let them do their thing. :)

JasMarieee: I’m not gonna lie I still use grease because that’s the only thing that makes the moisture last in my hair but all the other stuff HAS GOT TO GO! I use to be huge on back to back protective styling but then I realized that since I couldn’t fully moisturize every strand, the majority of my hair would be dry and brittle when I took out my protective style

Sweet My My: Blue magic is not a trend to me my mom been using it in my hair since I was 3 n my hair is long but udk about anybody else❤

Butterflies: Blue magic is not a hair gel. They used it whenever they would press my hair back in the day.

Etta Robinson: Lol. Girl I am so with you and I love what you do as a natural. You're reigning for real. Thank you.

Lorissa Clark: I'm not doing the rice water challenge. I don't think that would work out well for me. I'm not a trend person anyway, I like tried and true methods.

Justine Burton: That blue magic is exactly that: Magic! I've gone back to the magic and it's saving my hair, my time and saving my coins.

Black Diva: The trend i don't follow is to always sleek down edges to make them form waves... Sometimes it just looks weird (to my eyes) especially if someone is not wearing a sleek hairstyle. Blue magic works well on my hair , but i don't use it like a gel, i use it to seal in the moisture (like it's perfect when i do mini twists!) . And about vaseline i just use it on my skin lol

Vile Wu: I bought into the whole “ grease is good for your hair”. I put Blue Magic on my sons hair and by day 3 his head felt like a Brillo pad. No mama! Never again!

Katrina Sims: I refuse to do the rice water challenge

Nijee Vaughn: Lmfao I was so confused when people acted like blue magic was something new. Blue magic grease was something my grandma use to use to on my hair to press it out with a straightening comb.

Tatyanna Hayward: Blue Magic isn’t a gel it’s grease. My grandmother use to ALWAYS grease my hair with it. I was relaxed as a child and honestly, that shit made my hair growth. It was a stunted growth, I did use grown women extra strength relaxers.

Anna J: I’d love to see box braid hairstyle with no extensions or only as long as ur natural hair! Protective styles u can do for the summer plsss I’d love to learn

Oluchi Assumani: I fell for the gimmick and tried the twisting tool. That thing almost took my hair out :(

O'mya Rose: Speaking of Vaseline why is everyone steady saying Vaseline or grease had their hair long growing up... like no sis the real reason your hair was long when you were younger was because your hair was ALWAYS in ponytails or braids (protected) the grease only stopped it from drying out..

Sparkle Babe Boutique: Blue magic is bomb.. been using it and it keeps my type 4a4b hair soft. Just clarify your hair and you will be fine. I use when wearing my hair in twist after applying my leave in and oil.

karen horton: Eat well, drink lots of water, exercise and find Happiness Simplicity works ladies

Simply Shad: “Blue magic is a gel to slick up your hair” DEADDDTTTT. grease can not damage your hair.

Coach Cree: Love your content and so excited that you live where I do because products matter as far as humidity goes! That Felicia brush looks so cool, I need one! I don’t like oil! The rice water had me twisted and made my hair brittle and break off. And keratin treatments can go to hell lol

Felicia Felicia: New product I love, the magic rollers. They take forever to dry, but it gives the best stretched fro I ever done on my daughter.

Kenn: I love my Felicia brush. Wide tooth combs could never do me better

Shelly Garland: yeah that twist machine looks like a quick way to get overmanipulation and stressed out strands for curly or kinky hair the wavies can keep that

__Snazzyqauckson __: I definitely refuse to put that Vaseline in my hair even after the great reviews

Greeneyez0712: So back in the early 2000's I use to use Vaseline. My hair was super long too. My beautician told me to never , ever, ever, ever do that again... Also that's a no to vapor rub, my grandma use to rub on my son when he was a baby and I hated the smell, so that was a no for me too...

Marla Morris: I am thinking about trying an onion juice treatment. I had to caution my cousin about the Bicks vapor rub. I think the lady who tried using Coca Cola as a rinse(?) was fun to watch but I'd never try that.

Brittney Henry: My mom used to mix monistat with grease when I was younger. I can't say if it helped but I know that's an old school remedy.

Lluvia Raullerson: I liked it even before watching it lol. Love your truth-fill-tell-it-like-it-is videos without curse words yaaaassss! Btw you looking so cute and neat, all matched up :D

Rena Labeaud: I personally wouldnt use grease or vaseline in my hair but it isnt a trend, a gel or damaging... the twisting machine and those suction roller things are trends i would never jump on!

April Denice: Your hair is so beautiful but this video is to real, straight facts!!! #NaturalReign

Kimberly Cherrell: A LIPSTICKKKKKKK I’m here for it

Shonna's Place: A lot of people in prison use Monistat to grow their hair I believe that's where it came from and it really do work I never used it but it work

CJ: I love my hair in a fro too, lol. Not about twist outs or anything tbh. The only thing I would try is waveformers because the results look soooo cool.

Toni Runnels: One that I refuse to try is rice water. Way too much work for me lol

Serena 🤍: Always keeping it .

Myrna J: ReignGang!!!❤ I want to try the Wet look maybe! That lipstick tho!!

Atomica1996: I'm not blending up onions and putting it in my HAIR

Miniah. World: MONISTAT!!!!!!! now who in the hell came up with that

Yalon Mishaél: Pause who the hell was using monistat

Ange N.O.: All of what you said is what I won't do! Nope, nada, non! ‍♀️

SUZAN BOYER: Sempre arrando no video ameiii Brasilll Love Love Love

Melissa Frazier: I’m not for back to back protective styles. When I started watching videos to help me maintain my natural hair, there were several you tubers that did a quick segment on the wash part and I never saw their hair out and flourishing... they would tell you what they did but didn’t visually allow viewers to see the outcome. I am in love with how your hair is what it is when you begin and end your videos, and everything in between. Just forward and direct with what works for you and detailed. I appreciate your content.

Ali B: Great video! Its crazy things people be doing to grow hair lol

Elisheva W.: i use softee for a sealant. i might try blue magic, but i’ve just noticed in the two years i’ve been natural that grease works better for me than oil does. and yeah screw that twisting machine

Ashlei Smart: I'm not using grease on my hair no matter what anyone says, if it works for you, GREAT, if your momma used it on you since you were 3, AWESOME, but different strokes for different folks lol I'll continue to flourish my hair my way and they can their way✊

NIKKK: i think vicks is more of a stimulant for hair growth. i won’t lie i tried it for a month but i’m not really sure if it worked.

Selina C: Notification gang I stick to my puffs if my hair isn’t out in the fro lol.

ChocoLex: I’ve never used Vaseline on my hair (except as a base when I used to get relaxers) also that twisting thing is not for our people. ✊

Bria W.: I have never heard of putting Vaseline in your hair love your videos btw!!

TBella26: Most definitely won't be using Monistat on my scalp! Yuck!! Lol!! Great vid!❤❤

LaDawn: Vaseline? Blue magic (the old school thick grease)? Vick’s vaper rub and a Hair twister... MONISTAT???? ummmm yeah that’s a complete hell no!!!

Kaylah Harvey: Now why doesn’t she have millions of subscribers? Come onnn people!

Diane S: Your hair is gorgeous!!!!!!!! I have small coils like yours. 3rd year. Hair cut twice already, but am letting it grow out now. I just received my wave formers can’t wait to see how that works out. Sorry darlings but people just don’t use common sense. Why would you put monistat in your head? Why? Buy a wig if you want long hair that bad. Just my opinion. ‍♀️

Tamara Baez: I don't try none of the trends I only wash &go and deep conditioned my hair that's it. Some of the things you mentioned I've never heard of like vic's, ect it sounds crazy to me, I wouldn't try them because my scalp is so sensitive.

CJ: Everybody defending Blue Magic in the comments lmao. Good for y’all but I’m still not gonna put it anywhere near my hair.

TianiMonet: I never stopped using grease but I never used Blue Magic I only know of it from YouTube. I use it on my scalp because otherwise it itches like crazy. All of the other trends, nah I’m good.

Kennayy: Man... Blue Magic is laundry detergent scented petroleum jelly imo

Daisy Flower: I'm actually gonna try hair grease. I'm having problems with humectants and ive tried sealing with butters and oils but so far they haven't been doing anything. So hair grease here I come, unless someone has a better idea. But do what works for you.

Victoria Audu: You should try the inversion method. I did it in March and my hair actually grew. But I've been lazy so I haven't done it this month

NicoleB Jones: True about the hairstyles I have learned that there is just certain things I don't know what I'm doing. Also I used to do a lot more hairstyles and I can do them on my hair but not other people.

Ashley Pottinger: Hair grease I stopped using that long ago made my scalp so dry. Today I don't have those issues. The loc method I don't think that really works for me I love using just a leave in an maybe a cream to moisturize that's it but no oil. Products with oils infused in it that's a trend I love!

Ange Wilson: I love you btw and your hair so real ❤️

Jen C: I don't use the loc or lco method, I use to do it all the time but once I stopped my hair has been much softer.

tweedybird: I’m sitting here trying to make the monistat make sense in my head lmaoo like is it for their itchy scalp but for hair growth?!? Then the Vick’s vapor rub I was like is it to stimulate their scalp but I mean for all that rub some peppermint oil on your scalp sis issa no from me. Also blue magic is grease not gel it does no type of holding

KyanaH: Do a video about the different hairstyles you like to wear on your hair. Doesn't have to be 100

Myhauna Darnaé: Nah, everybody advocating for grease and I don’t agree, “bAcK iN ThE dAy, wE dIdNt hAvE alL tHeSe nAturAl hAiR pRoduCts”, back in the day that’s all we had to use, now we have better and more healthy products for our hair and you chose to use petroleum on your hair. Smh

Sarah Cole: Tbh, the content on your channel is more useful and something I'd do compared to other channels. Like who's going to buy tools that you know good and well aren't going to work on your hair or be time consuming. And watching hairstyle videos that look better on the youtuber than me. Which is why, like you, I wear my hair in its wash and go state. But like I said, your content is better and more useful. Hair growth, learning about your hair, how to get a good wash and go, how to safely color hair, etc. Actual information we need in order to slay

Felicia Felicia: Vicks is a wierd one. Menthol and camphor is great for growing hair, not so much in the context of a chest rub, but it's great to use a few drop ins some carrier oil.

Divested Ninja 🥷🏽: Your hair is so beautiful

hailey richard: Idk about hair growth but Vicks is really good on the scalp if you have dandruff or get scalp fungal infections. My little cousin gets it and the vicks literally lifts it right up

Wilmarie Dominguez: Love the outro ❤❤❤ the sound quality its popping Jae. Live your videos

Product Junkie Chronicles: That Blue Magic is so good though

Ariana Clinton: I looooove blue magic coconut oil it works so good on my hair

Taliana Riettien: Girl I am over the trends. If you trying to grow healthy hair you need to hold off on the trends. I refuse to do rice water rinse. I don't care if I can get 10 inches in one month. I won't be going that.

Marilyn K.: Do you do your nails yourself? I loove how the are always perfect!

Shelsea: Twist outs no one Yell at me I’ve tried them all different ways but they just don’t work on my hair ‍♀️

Karen Reeves: Vaseline on hair????!!!! Vicks vapor rub on the scalp!!!! I still use Vicks, but not on my hair. Monistat on the hair!!!???? This is insane! I too would never try this. Any machine that is sucking my hair into I probably would not try, too afraid of malfunctioning with a chunk of my hair in it.

TheLashay Way: That twisty machine is pointless i feel like its for lazy ppl lol

NaturalsBest: Definitely not putting Vaseline in my hair, nope

Hali M: I kind of dislike when people follow all of these treads just for the hell of it

Taylor Nicole: Girl facts my hair and patience have no time for no 100 hairstyles thank you next

Miah G: Can you review the new suave natural hair line?

Hali M: Your hair is perfect right here and big af lol

Luna X: Different strokes for different folks ‍♀️

Lisa Campbell: I refuse to do rice water and inversion method
