Olivia Wilde may be circling the globe promoting Tron Legacy before the film opens this Friday, but I got a chance to chat with her during a recent press junket in LA where she talked about catching up on the original Tron during filming, empowering women through her character, Quorra, and rocking that totally "Trontastic" haircut.

I think people will just have their minds. Blown people tell me regularly that they, like me better with the wig, but you weren't, born when the first one came out. It was kind of an amazing thing to be reprising a film. You know creating a new character before a sequel that carried so much weight as a franchise became this cultural phenomenon, and I really wanted to do it. Justice, even though I hadn't been there to appreciate the first one, but I learned quite a lot about it and throughout the shooting of the film, I must have seen it a dozen times. I know it pretty well and I can honestly say that I think fans of the original will really appreciate what they've done with this sequel. But people don't have to watch the originals honestly. It stands on its own as a film, and I think people will just have their minds blown in the way that they did in 1982 when it was using technology that had never been used for filmmaking. Similarly, there's a lot of different effects in this film that have never been done before your characters, sort of she's seen a lot of action, she's kind of complex in a way that you know she's about kicking but she's. Also, very like naive, or did you draw the inspiration from well? For me, a great source of inspiration was Joan of Arc. I really connected with the connection between Cora and Joan of Arc, and Cora became sort of a version of her for this alternate cyber universe. She'S this child warrior, who had a kind of supernatural strength but still a very kind of peaceful, optimistic spirit. Because of that spirit and her connection to some higher powers, she was largely protected from her adversaries. They kind of revered her because she seemed to be from another world she's slightly different than all the other programs, and they sense that it's interesting that you said Joan of Arc, because I did get sort of a very religious sort of overtone. Yeah in production - oh yeah, no! No! That was something that was very apparent in the script. There are lots of theological references throughout the whole story and anytime you're telling a story about redemption and family. It'S going to call to mind a lot of these different themes that have been seen in all sorts of religious texts. I thought the hair was amazing on you. Thank you. Did you ever consider keep I did it or I did especially now that people tell me regularly that they like me better with the wig I like really okay. I know I had a lot of fun with that wig and it was great because when I put it on it changed me immediately. So I kind of felt like I became Cora same thing happened with the makeup in the suit. It was my way of transforming, but I think it's a great haircut that asymmetry is really cool. It'S kind of androgynous and funky, and I think that we'll probably see a few more haircuts like that for the next couple years. A lot of rubber and a lot of bang
