I said empty your mind, be formless shapeless like water.''. It'S not an easy skill to learn. I'Ve been practicing it for many years, ...'' Hi. Ladies today I'd like to talk to you a little bit about bobby pins.. Everyone thinks bobby pins are all created equal. You say bobby pins, it means one thing so today I want to talk about how us Naturals can maximize how we use bobby pins verses, hair pins. The first thing i wan na talk about is the hairpin. If you had a lot of thick coarse hair like I do or on it's very heavy full and you wan to do an up-do you, I highly recommend using the hairpin, the giant hairpin that looks like this. Okay. The benefit of this is sometimes, if you decide to use the giant bobby pin. What can happen is at the end of the day you take your up, do down and you've got that sore, feeling you where those bobby pins, were.'', Ahhhhhhhhhhhh !'', because the way this grips it's very very hard, the way it grips your hair and so at the End of the day its that sore, you know, updo feeling., You don't get that when you use the giant hair pin which is looser. It doesn't have the same grip that tight grip as the bobby pin. Giant, hairpin they're more difficult to find. But if you go and look for them in, like some of the hair stores like Sally or a nice Asian hair store that has a nice supply of different sizes, the giant hair pin is going to be your best bet. It has a nice hold. You don't have to worry about feeling sore at the end of the day.. Now, if you want something that is going to give you control and contour kind of like a haircut, that's where he has your giant bobby pin for this thick hair.. So let's say I finished with my curls for the day and I look at my up. Do you, and I see I don't like so much hair over here thats when the giant bobby pin comes into play, I'm gon na open up my bobby pin and I'm just going to lightly contour and kinda. Take it and dig it in and pull it up. A little bit and then push in, and now I have a little bit less curls on that side, you can see my face a little bit more, also the smaller bobby pin. If I have too much hair down to my face, I need a haircut. I don't have time to trim it right away. I wan na take the smaller bobby pin and I'm just going to slide that in to take some of the hair out of my face. I'M just gon na put it right here and slide it in no one's ever gon na know it's there, and now I have a little bit more eye. I have more contour at the end of the day. It'S not gon na feel sore. It'S gon na feel light because I'm actually gripping with the bobby pin less hair. Now, if I put up the back of my hair with that giant bobby pin at the end of the day, this is some thick hair.. At the end of the day, it will be super sore. The I use hairpins to keep the bulk of my up. Do you in place? Okay and I use the giant bobby pins small bobby pins to keep lightly contouring keep hair out of my face.. So if you try to do an up-do, remember giant hairpins hard to find, but totally worth it. Let me know if you notice a difference and I guess I'll talk. You later. Hope that helps bye, !'' Be water. My friend''

Asien Rose: I loved this video for two reasons: 1) Bobby Pins and Hair Pins are not this natural girl's friend. I will end up with a very sore scalp if I don't take my style down nightly. I have been using hair combs for my up-dos instead and they work quite well. 2) I am a big Bruce Lee fan so I enjoyed the inserts. ; D

Saudi Smith: I know exactly what your talking about with those bobby pins. I had to leave them out of my hair regimen completely for 2 reasons the first is the tip would sometimes snag my hair especially when removing it. Also, it was just too hard on my scalp.

PrincessRhea18: Love your hair future tutorial possibly? And I never tried hair pins I will now!

D Warren: Well done! No more sore head

Red seouls: Thank you!
