Hi, my name is Claire Coleman. I'M a hair stylist, I'm going to show you how to use a curling iron for a side updo, so we're basically going to start with our hair and a low ponytail on one side. Whichever side you choose, I like to do a side part favoring, the opposite side of the face. So if you're going to do your ponytail on the right side, you want to do your part on the left side and we're just going to use our curling iron and you're going to take sections about an inch thick or so and you're going to spray. Some hairspray on it on your section and I just like to work my hand through the section two to make sure you get it all over the whole thing and you're going to be doing a feeding method into your curling iron. So take your strand open. Your clamp on your iron and you're just going to roll it in and gently pull it out. You can tap on your clamp a little bit if it feels like it's getting a little bit too tight while you're pulling in this way. All your hair is going to be put through with even amounts of heat, so you're going to get nice and even curls and you're just going to let it fall out and you get a nice little spiral curl their set. That aside and you're just going to finish that into the rest of the hair, and after you get your curls done, you can kind of see where your hair is going to start taking shape. So this way you can kind of fake curls. You can wrap it around your fingers and just start placing into your hair and pinning using bobby pins. I'M just wrapping it and this way you're going to start creating a shape and again I like to definitely keep the ends up, because that way you can see if you're. If you have a little bit extra space, you can see what needs to be covered, and it just makes it a lot easier to do it that way and then just keep pinning your style, and it's good that tough for you to lock your bobby pins on To other pins that you have to it'll help really make it. A good foundation makes the bobby pins hold on a lot stronger. Okay, and now you can see if you have any holes like there's a little hole right here. So I'm just going to twist this around just to kind of make sure that that's all covered and then just place. Your pins in where you want everything to be anchored in this style, makes it really easy for you to change things around. If something isn't. Looking. Quite right and you can wrap it up top doing this way. It creates a nice romantic style for your wedding, and then you can just kind of wrap the ends around and tuck it in see from the back side and from the front. My name is Claire Coleman, I'm a hair stylist and I just showed you how to use a curling iron for a side updo. You
