Recreating Short Hairstyles on My Long Hair!
I thought I would take some of my old hairstyles that I did with my shorter hair and try to recreate them with my now longer hair. Honestly speaking, I prefer my hairstyles that I created with shorter hair. It's sometimes easier to create an updo and braids because the hair is easier to hide and create dimension. I found that with my longer hair, I had to be precise with what I was doing because it could ruin the entire hairstyle if I didn't pin the hair properly. I definitely need to create some new hairstyles for longer hair.

Let'S recreate some hairstyles., I think it's the perfect time for the holidays.. There are so many get togethers parties, dinners events to go to.. So let's do this.. These are hairstyles that I created years ago on my short hair., Some of them. I have hair like chin length, a little shorter, a little longer and then like shoulder length.. So I figured you know what, Since I have a little bit more hair now, let's recreate them with medium to long hair.. I think this'll be really fun. And, let's start off with one of people's favorites and Andrey's favorite.. He chose this one.. This one is a pull through braid that I did on my short hair. And my hair was super short.. Oh, my goodness. And so blonde platinum blonde.. Should I go that blonde? No we're never doing that again.! So, first step you create two ponytails right behind each other. Or just right in line. And of course, if you've been with me for a while, my hair days, ElasticU favorite hair ties in the world. Okay. So this first step is important because it's going to basically determine how your hairstyle is gon na turn out either inside or outside.. So I'm gon na take my first ponytail and we're gon na split that. and try to split it kind of right in the center.. It doesn't have to be perfect. Split it right in 1/2., And I have to be careful because my baby hairs right, now. And then you're gon na take the second ponytail from the back, bring it forward and make sure you have a clip next to you. And You'Re gon na clip that right, away., You're gon na take that first ponytail that you split in 1/2. You're gon na bring it to the back and you're gon na include that in the next ponytail and just do the same thing tie it off.. So you're always gon na play with two ponytails.. Let go of the first one and see these little baby hairs., I'm gon na have to hide them. When I spread my little sections apart., But this ponytail that's on top, it's always going to get split in the center., Put the sections on the side and bring that back. Ponytail forward.. Take your clip clip this section away, bring these two sections together towards the back and create your new ponytail.. So always the section that gets split is going to be brought back into that new ponytail. And I'm just gon na continue doing those exact same steps. All the way down. So now that I'm at the very bottom, where I have no more new hair to add into that new ponytail, the sections that we split, they now become the new ponytail.. This is where you can end it off, creating that last ponytail together. And then you can create either a regular three strand, braid and kinda roll it up into a low bun kinda messy it up., Or you can finish off the pull through braid all the way. Down., I'm just gon na do one more braid this through and just tie it off together the last one., The baby hairs though.. So let me show you guys what it looks like before. I pull it through or pull it apart and really kinda finesse with it.. It'S a lot longer than in the video., So the next step, what you wan na do is each section very gently start pulling just kind of making each section bigger. Make sure you pull it in the center as well. So you don't see any kind of like random little holes. And you can go as little or as big as you want honestly. And I just kinda just do it by feel you can't really see all the way around. Or if you have another person next to You or around you ask them to make sure each section is somewhat even.. This is what Andrey always did for me, because I can't see in the back of my head. [ Andrey ] Want me to do it. Yeah. Let'S do it.. I usually pull the lighter ones out. My highlighted hair. Highlighted, so you can see the accentuation of it. Because your roots are darker. Mm-hmm., Oh wow, that's actually really cool. Really pretty.. Okay. I think I can't really clean it up as much as I was thinking just because the rest of the hair is actually textured.. I kinda like that., You could even take some pieces out right. Here. Give them a nice little curl a little wave. If you don't have natural waves, but that's actually pretty good., I'm just thinking, should we accessorize that or no Do something like that, especially for the holidays.. I actually found the original accessory that I did with this hairstyle, my platinum hair., And this literally why I accessorized it was just to hide the hair elastic. Wow. This brings back memories. All right. Let'S see the creation., Let's see what it was. How many years ago, 2016 2021., What looks better The shorter or the longer version I like the shorter version. Yeah. Is it the hair, The color Yeah? It'S a lot of things because there's a more drastic change in the color.. The transition at the bottom is seamless.. Yeah, because you could get away with it a little bit easier., Because what I did the super tiny ponytail, literally just tucked it underneath.. So it looks like it's just one massive braid instead of a braid slash ponytail like this., But I think this is actually still really fun.. I like either one very different looks.. Let'S go on to the next hairstyle.. This one is perfect for, if you like, up-dos., But it's very easy to accomplish., You're gon na need some hair ties or hair elastics. And then a couple of bobby pins.. You could do either the mini ones or you could do just regular length and my favorite MetaGrip. And basically you're gon na take two sections about up here. A little bit higher than the top of the ears. And they're gon na be two ponytails, but we're gon na turn them into topsy tails.. I'M gon na try to kinda bring the hair back a little bit.. I'M gon na tie it off with a hair elastic.. So what you can do now is take apart the little pull throughs the topsy tails right here, to give it a little bit more texture, make them a little bigger., But I'm gon na hold off that and do it at the very end. Next thing: what you Wan na do is all of this hair towards the bottom, create a three strand braid.. It doesn't really matter which way. But then secure the braid at the very bottom. With a hair elastic., You can take the braid apart a little bit to make it bigger more voluminous.. That way, your bottom section is gon na, be nice and big and textured.. You can take bobby pins or these little screw pins into your hair. I'M gon na take two one on each side.. This little end portion right here is giving me a hard time.. So I'm gon na take some bobby pins and secure it.. I'M actually gon na take these little hair accessories and I'm gon na hide the clear elastics right here on the sides that I created the topsy tail with. I think it's gon na add a little bit of something special to the hairstyle. Andrey said. It looks like a controlled mess in the back.. That'S what I'm aiming for. ( Laughs, )! Okay, so I am gon na say. I think I, like the shorter version better. Just because there's less transitions., It's a lot easier to hide. When you have shorter hair., I was thinking the opposite. When I had shorter hair at the time, it would be easier to work with longer hair., That's not the case.. I think this looks totally fine.. I think, if anything, I would just do more towards the back and split it towards the bottom, a little bit more instead of doing two separate sections., If that makes sense. With the first two ponytails, so you don't get that vivid line in the back.. But all you can do is just take some of these hairs out and really just fluff it up in the back.. That'S how you can fix it.. Well, there you have it., Sometimes having shorter hair medium to short, is actually easier to do. Hairstyles and up-dos, because you don't have as much hair to put up and to worry about. But then again having longer hair. You could have a little bit more volume, a little bit more texture things like that., But yeah. I need to create some hair styles geared more towards medium to long hair. Super easy, but not requiring a lot of bobby pins and things like that.. This was fun. I'll, see you guys in another one very soon, bye. Bye. ( Blows kiss )
