Dyson Airwrap Shaping Vs Smoothing Brush On Short Hair

DYSON AIRWRAP Shaping vs Smoothing Brush on Short Hair

So many of you have asked to see a side by side comparision of the different brush attachments that come with Dyson Airwrap. Today, I'm comparing the round volumizing shaping brush to the soft smoothing brush. The brush attachments do very different things. Which brush do you like to use on your hair when drying and styling?

Today, i want to show you guys two different brushes, how they work on shorter hair using the dyson air wraps. The first one is the round volumizing brush this one has a direct heat all over the place. It does not use the kwanda effect and it has those bristles that really attach to your hair. So you can really mimic what you want to do with your hair and then the soft smoothing brush. This has really soft gentle bristles. So it's going to be really soft on your scalp and this one does use the kwanda effect. As you can see the bristles they move side to side. Let'S begin, i'm going to first start with the volumizing brush, i'm going to show you guys kind of some of the techniques that i like to use. So, first, what i was doing, just kind of went and then brushed it through kind of got the heat rolling in the hair. So with this i then go in really close to my roots and kind of just hold it there for a couple of seconds and then just start brushing it kind of upwards to create that volume kind of lift the hair. So i really like this brush. If you want to create some kind of shape into your hair, i think this one does a really good job with a soft smoothing brush. I feel like it gives a really fast, really easy result and there's not really much thinking involved with this type of brush. It'S because it kind of does the job for you. The only thing that i like to do differently is when i go through, and i kind of just hold it there towards the bottom of my haircut. Let it kind of sit there with the air and the heat and then kind of gently brush it through, but i brush it through towards my face or towards the front of my face to kind of give it that little swoop towards the bottom. It gives different looks, but i feel like with this it's a little bit easier just because it does the job for you, because it's a lot bigger, there's a lot more real estate for your hair to sit on. But with this one, you kind of have to work a little bit more to create that shape, that you want, which some people like this a little bit more just because your hair sticks onto it. But that's just kind of what i notice. When i do. My hair, with these brushes all right so now that my hair is nice and dry. I just want to show you guys the difference that with this volumizing brush, you can really go in there and give your hair a bend, and it looks like you put something in your hair like a curling iron or something else, but i like that. You can easily do that with this, because the brush is a really good size. Even for my shorter hair, you can accomplish some kind of bend in your hair and it does look really really pretty on longer hair and then with the soft smoothing brush. You can see that with this it just gives your hair so much body. It gives a nice very soft, very sleek, very clean, look to your hair and it's very consistent, it's very even and it just it just looks so good. These are very different types of looks but they're both very easy to accomplish and they're very fast. Another thing i do want to mention: a lot of people were comparing the volumizing brush to the revlon, and i can see why. But the thing is they both do such very different things. I like comparing the revlon to this soft smoothing brush or the firm smoothing brush the reason. Why is because they give super similar results. So with this, you can create really great tension for hair that needs that tension. So that's why i like comparing these two, because they give very very similar results, and you can't really do too much with the revlon or you can't really do too much with this. It just gives you those straightforward results with the round volumizing brush with the dyson air wrap this one. You can really go in there just because of the size difference and it's round. So that's why it's completely different styles, so you can really go in even with my shorter hair, you can give some kind of bend to it with the revlon, even with longer hair, from what i experienced and from what other people experience you can't really go in, And give it a wave or even a curl, that's my experience and from others experience as well. So that's the overall result. That'S why i really like and enjoy using the dyson air wrap. No, i am not sponsored by them. I wish i was. I only talk about stuff that i really like, and i really use on a daily basis or i use it on a weekly basis and with this airwrap it is very expensive. It'S definitely an investment piece, but it's a great piece. If you're going to utilize every single attachment that comes with the actual package, just make sure you want all of those attachments that come with it. That'S where it's gon na be worth your while. That'S where it's gon na be worth the investment all right guys, thanks for watching spending time with me and my hair and my dyson air wrap and we'll see another one very soon, bye, you

Iris Zhai: This is such a good tutorial!! I'm struggling to make waves with the barrel brush and also see the difference vs with other brush and this was explained so well!!

Nina Steinberg: You are the one YouTuber I can watch that doesn't have a 15 minute intro and it's great!!!♥️

Melissa Jetzt Languages: This is the best video I’ve seen on this product so far. You’re not only straight to the point, but you point out exactly what these attachments are for. Thank you!!

SamanthaM: I cut my hair and bought a dyson airwrap after finding your channel!!! Thank you for pushing me to take a change with my hair and on a great hair styling product. Changed my life honestly. My hair has always been long but I never styled it because I didn’t know how!!

Gaby B: Thanks for making this video! I have the air wrap and have been enjoying learning new techniques. I’m going to try using the volumising brush in the same way you do here, I think that soft wave is so so pretty.

Antonia Pries: This is extremely helpful. I’m trying out the Dyson Airwrap and you just showed me a new way to use the volumizing brush. Also you have a great way of comparing products.

Nikki Krug: Thanks for showing this. I just got the set and have been learning how to curl my hair and the direction and I have the best stylists. It’s a wife/husband team. They used it on my recently and I fell in love so my mom was lucky and had a 20% discount from Best Buy last weekend. I texted with my stylists wife who actually has it and she showed a quick video for me. I just need to know the way the arrow goes and if it goes on top/bottom but you showed a whole new way just to get more volume and I really like how the round brush just gives a cute wave with what looks like a little effort. I washed and curled and set it yesterday so I’ll play with the curls more but next I’m trying your trick. Thank you so much. I’d love to see more of you and what you are doing. You are easy to understand and you go at my speed so thank you. Nikki. If you’re anywhere else, please let me know. ‍♀️

Julie Howell: The smoothing brush seemed to be faster then the round brush. I like the smoothing brush looks better . Smooth and sleek look is really pretty .

Jenco215: My mom gifted me the Dyson Airwrap and I am so thankful for your videos! Do more with the Dyson Airwrap please!! I learn how to use it by watching you :)

Belinda C: Super helpful thank you! I’m a lucky girl who just received an Airwrap for Christmas so I really need all these short hair tips!

Dear x Jomi: Thank you for the non-bias honest review. I just got my dyson complete and I am looking forward to using it. I also learnt some tricks

Diana K: I could never do that cute bend with separate locks but now that you showed I will try again! I hope it works cause I want that bend so BAD! Thanks❤️

Homeyra Isa: Absolutely loved this video. Have been wanting to buy one of these but this video really helped me make up my mind ! Thank you

Melisha McAlister: Love this comparison video. Bought the Dyson Complete last week and I'm pleased with the fullness but I'm wondering how to achieve volume on top? I have fine short hair, but a decent amount of it. I'm trying to be kinder to my hair by using less product and less heat (hence the purchase). I try to duplicate your techniques but my hair turns out flat on top. Would you please demonstrate how to achieve volume with the Airwrap tools? I tried turning it sideways or parallel to my shoulders with no lasting luck.

Thea Daily: I love your videos. You get right down to it and do very thorough and clear explanation of styles and products. Thank you for your content!

alison jessen: I am so exited to get mine. You're videos are the only ones that I find to the point and very helpful. Much love.

Nikki Elmes: I've just got a Dyson airwrap and struggle to get the straight look as my hair has that annoying kink to it ‍♀️ Do you use any products on your hair to get that really sleek/straight look? You are my go to for hair and make up tutorials! x

Oly MH: Thank you for the video. I think that the round brush tends to create frizz. It blows air around the shorter/baby hairs.

thicc sunflower: I have another question... You helped me out a lot when I asked about curling my hair (thank you so much by the way) but now straightening my hair has become an issue. My hair is super thick, so I can’t get the lay-down look I want. I’ve tried getting it thinned, but it’s never as effective as I want it to be. Can you help again? Thank you!

Bloomingpeonies_collective evolution: Hi Milabu thank you for your videos . You are very meticulous in giving great tips and advice . I request for more Dyson air wrap . I hope you can show more styles as I own one set myself . When I use my rollers . The style doesn’t stay on my hair any longer than 3 hours . Many thanks !

Noreen Re: Nice video! I liked how concise you were. I love my Dyson. Thanks for the straightening tip!

Amanda Evans: Super helpful and straight to the point. Thanks!

S El-Gendy: I really love this tutorial.. it shows the different technique and you explain it so simply and nicely.. I watch your videos since last year and you are really one of the best .. ur videos on fb and here r sooo nice and informative.. you say all the facts that i would think abt as a customer and also as a normal person..not sm1 that has a million dollar to spend Luv u dear ❤❤❤❤❤

D M: I have the airwrap and find these videos super helpful. Could you create a playlist with all the Dyson videos?

Salma Meah: Finally, a no bs video for for shorter hair. Super excited for my airwrap to arrive tomorrow. Can I please ask do I need to rough dry first if using these two brushes on fine bobbed hair?

Aly Mary: Thanks for the video! This is my concern as well I would use only the smoothing brush, not interested in the other attachments. I want straight hair, quick dry and nice, shining hair. My hair is medium, fine and frizzy if I dry it with a normal hair dryer so it needs styling, not to look like a crazy person. I was researching dyson airsonic hair dryer for the fast drying and controller airflow, but I am not good with the round brush and the hairdryer. Then saw the airwrap..but more expensive than an already expensive supersonic dryer and with a lot of accessories I will not use. What to chose now out of the two..of course I cannot afford both...why they don’t release an airwrap with only two accessories, cheaper or a brush attachment for the hairdryer..offf

Faiza D. Muro: I'd think about investing on this if the round brush rotated automatically, both ways, by pressing a button, as so many cheaper ones do. That's a must if you need an efficient, quick and non-tiring (I need to be able to later use my hand at work!) morning routine, which I do.

Skin Obsessed Mary: I've been using the Revlon One Step for years (love the results!) but my hair is colour-damaged and prone to flyaways/breakage. Is the Air Wrap better for hair health? My hair is fine and similar to yours in length. Great video - thanks!

유정: Omg you make it look so easy Thank you for sharing what's possible with these brushes.

Charlotte R: Super helpful video, I’ve been looking for tips on using my air wrap!

Hannah Ford: I am still trying to figure out how to best use my dyson and this video was so helpful! Thanks so much!

JJ Babbles: I'm really struggling deciding between the Dyson hairdryer & the Dyson airwrap. Do you ever use the hair dryer attachment on the airwrap? Is it just as good as the original hairdryer? It would make a great comparison video because I can't find anyone that's done it! I want the airwrap for the smoothing brush but have little interest in the other attachments, so it feels kinda silly to get it BUT if I could replace my regular hairdryer and my Revlon brush then I'd like that. I'm definitely in the market for one of the Dyson products!

Maxie & Foxie Maine Coons: so helpful! thank you so much! especially for that comparison with Revlon brush as I already have that brush and wasn’t quite happy with the results Now I know why I need Dyson!

Rockysmom: Isn't the dyson smoothing brush less damaging than the revlon because the revol has the heated metal base (like Dyson's round brush) but the smoothing brush by dyson seems less hot as it's airflow vs heated metal drying your hair. What heat settings did you use with the Dyson smoothing brush?

Anusri M: I really like all of your hair tutorials. And i get an unbiased opinion, like you mentioned your not sponsored by them

Ruth Driedger: I am getting my new Airwrap in a few days. This video was a big help to understand how to use this great new hair tool. Thanks!

jojolpool: I’m new to this channel - really enjoying the content - no fluff - she’s great

Heather Winters: I curl my hair with the Revlon one but I have pretty long hair. I twirl each section of the hair into a twist and let all the twists cool down, then run my fingers though. :)

Raeesa karim: I was having second thoughts after ordering and paying for it! But now I’m happy I did! Thank u

C GR: Thank you for making this video I got my Dyson Airwrap a year ago and still learning of new ways to use it

OK TERI: Personally, I think your hair is prettier using the Revlon and Hot Tools . A lot more affordable

Rosalie Kok: Love your reviews for shorter hair, as most of them are for long hair and I have your hair lenght

S Tam: Love the airwrap, always end up with fabulous looking hair!

Izzy: This is a fantastic review thank you

La Gatita: So cute! I will try this style. I am liking your shorter medium hair.

Shaeron Smith: Brilliant review i now have a Dyson Airwrap and it’s revolutionary. Many congratulations on your new arrival due this year. Love from Scotland

Zeenat Sumra: The square brush attachment did wonders ! ❤❤❤

H. Olsen: Looks like a great product, wish I could afford one.

May Co: I am honestly thinking in investing in the dyson complete package but I am still doubting if I should get it or if there are other products out there that can do the same for cheaper. Since you hace try so many products in the market would you say the Dyson is worth investing in? Thank you

Dana Boerkoel: I love love love my airwrap but need some advice. I have collarbone length, thick curly hair so the firm attachment brush is a life saver. The ends of my hair have been flipping up no matter what. I think my hair isn’t gripping on the brush and when I pull it off each strand, the air is blowing it up. I don’t know, it’s super confusing. Maybe I just need a trim to help fix it? What do you think?

Haley Martin: I would love to see a video on the Airwrap-would you buy it again? What have you come to love about it? Come to not love? Etc. I would love to invest in one but would love to hear if you still think it’s worth it.

Ishta Neel: Lovely video! Instead of bend I'm landing full curl, where am I wrong? I tried both stopping to roll after 1st 360° & continuing to roll. I land 1 or 2 curls! I see new frizz caused by the air gushing out from beneath d hair section. U feel d same?

Lilynesia: I bought the Dyson airwrap around 5 months ago and I'm so so close to selling it off 'cos I just didn't like using it at all. But seeing your videos on it, I think I'm gonna give it another go. I think maybe I've been using it all wrong. Thank you for your super informative videos. Yours are the best videos on the airwrap I've ever watched so far :)

D D: I am going to pick my dyson up today and very few u tubers have shown how to use the brushes ..so thank you...your hairs beautiful by the way ... great u tuber x x

RaynaDae: Do you like it more than the Revlon air brush? My hair style used to be the same as yours but now it down to my waist

Claudia Lo: I tried to copy what you did with the volumizing brush and man that was hard. Harder than it looks.

tima timone: I think the airwrap its nicer cause its doesnt damage and burn the hair as one step so even its expensive but healthier

judy steinfeldt: How dry is your hair before you use the Dyson and what products are in it?

Bibi T: You better get that check from dison. This review was on point!

sophie Williams: The Revlon completely broke my hair in 2 weeks of use....I hope the Dyson is less damaging,is it ?

Nelly Lantsman: Hi Milana! Could you do a t3 single pass wand review? Just got one and would love to see a review and demo! Thanks in advance

Marti Fogel: Best help I have been able to get with my dyson Airwrap, thank you..

me35!: Pretty hair and love the color!

Shirlene Higbie: Okay last week you convinced me that it was awesome .... so with Sephora's 20% of I bought it .... Yaaaa .... !!! ... used it today for the first time ... just the smoothing brush ... ( did't have enough time to play with it ) .... I really think that I am going to love it .... Beyond what you had to say about it ... I also bought it because I have maybe 9 / 10 other heating tools for my hair that scare my to death to use .... afraid that I will burn myself or fry my hair or I can not get the hang of how to use them so I have gone more than two years just letting it air dry ..... This Airwrap is the answer to all of my needs and now I will have some curl --style and body in my hair ..... Yes ... Finally .... Hehee ..... Hugs ..... Shirlene

Natasha H: What styling products are you using before hand?

Radley Rayne: I adore your videos You’re my ASMR

Julia: I tried to do the same curls as on the video - lost half of my hair

Angeles RT: I love your tutorials you are the best ever !!!!!

Sandra Sheets: Been thinking about buying one of these drying / styling brushes our hair is about same length

Evelyn Encarnación: Nice, how many attachments does it bring and how much is it? Will it work good on long coarse hair?

Amanda Pimentel: Love this video need one of these

Sophia Zhang: Please review the GHD Glide Hot Brush! Love your videos :)

Nabile Depraect: I had to cut like 4 inches of hair because I am using the hair dryer everyday after the gym (before work) and even with coconut oil mask once a week I feel like I’m destroying it. I think I need to invest on a hair dryer and idk if the supersonic or air wrap would be better. I have fine hair, around my boobs. Or even another brand.

Madeline Fung: This is really good hair stylist tool!

Baby Elephant: I am having s hard time with my long fine hair and the round brush gets so tangled!!! You have beautiful hair ❤️

Tanja: I dont get my ends straight when I use the smoothing brush. I've tried different techniques but they always curl again

Cobh Ireland: Do you have to put any product on your hair first?

Elizabeth Johnson: What do you put in your hair before you use the tools? Thanks for the video.

Fnnava: It reminds me of conair 2 - in - 1 hot air curling comb

C C: Please do the new generation revieuw Hoe long do the curls stay

Show Me Beautiful: You are all business. Thank you. I hate reading directions. Now I’m going to try.

li: Do you lose a lot of hair with the 'shape bruch'? Bc with the revlon there was alot of hair

biancar4248: I recently bought it and it always makes my hair frizzy ): is there any good products to combat this

Safia: The video i was waiting for

Hiyall: Love yours vids...always cute styles...just wanted to send some love

Stella Knees: your hair looks SO good

Teddy Burr: Milabu.....can you remember what lipstick you were using n the REVLON quick demo in this video please? It is beautiful and I wouldlivevto get it. GREAT video Yet again hunni bunch. Xx

Michaela Gill: I tried this way but I get so many flyaways sticking up :(

dreamcapture_healing: Love your video. Thanks.

o처음처럼o: Top Review...thank you...

d m: Can you test this on somebody with long hair I feel the Dyson is really easy to point put on short hair but how do you use with longer hair? The ❤

Scrunchy AZ Mom: So can you find a comparable dupe for the Dyson air wrap? I already have the Revlon and I love it but I’d be interested to know if there is something similar to that small Dyson round brush out there without that price tag.

G: WOU!QUE LINDO TE QUEDO EL PELO!DESDE URUGUAY

Em Å: I'm not sure you've noticed, but there's a company using your footage to advertise themselves on Facebook. It's called "Coolbrush" and they've made a fake Revlon styling brush, using footage of you using said Revlon brush.

Kaitlin Trump: Is the dyson light feeling when your styling with it?

sarah Louise: I really want to buy this but I wish brush rotates like the babyliss one

Jeff Mann: Gorgeous!

Miss Viking: Hair dryer for $500? Not happening. Unless like I win it on a lottery lol.

Anne-Marie Goose: Would love to see this agains the revlon

Ann Lomas: Best hair product I have ever bought
