Hi everyone I'm a stay from the YouTube channel se button and today I'm here to show you a 1960s inspired updo, but with a bit of a more wearable modern twist. So it still has a bit of the 1960s bump and volume in the back. But it's something that I'd feel comfortable wearing today. So if you want to see how I did this just keep on watching, the first thing we want to do is, of course, get some body and bounce into the crown area. So I'm going to be using a mousse for that, so I'm just going to take a little bit of this about a tennis ball sized amount. I would say I love this part, oh so satisfying, and then I just rub it in between my hands like this and concentrate it mostly on the crown once that's kind of rubbed in you can bring it down through the lengths of your hair, but really focus It on the roots, because that's where we want the body, if you feel like you, need a little bit more you've got a lot more hair than I do just go back and add some more the good thing with this hairstyle is you don't need to know Any fancy, blow-drying techniques - all you need to do - is blow-dry your hair upside down, because that's going to again help give you body and help give you volume into your hair and it's a really simple way to add a little bit of boost into the roots. Wow. Okay, so that is a lot of volume into my hair, which is really great, especially for the look we're doing today. The great thing about that mousse is that it really does feel weightless in my hair. It'S not sticky at all, and it's actually very soft. So that's really good. Now I do want to have a little bit more grip and even more volume in the crown area. So what I'm going to do is add a little bit of the vo5. Give me texture. This is their instant oomph powder. I'Ve used this in videos before, and this really does give an instant oomph to the hair. It'S really unique because it's a powder and then you just sort of put it into the hair at about a 45 degree angle rub it in and it just it does exactly what it says. Linton gives you an instant, oh and then working in sections of the crown, I'm just going to take a little bit of hair, take the instant umph and then apply it directly to the scalp, like that, just a little bit and then just using my fingertips, I'm Just going to rub it in to the root of my hair, so this might give you a better idea of what I'm actually doing. So I'm just going to find where I want to apply it, which is right about here and I'm going to tip a little bit of the product on there that I'm just going to take my fingertips and literally just rub it into the roots like that. And you can't feel what I'm feeling, but you can feel the text you're really building there make sure you rub it in really well and then once we've done this all over the crown we'll have lots of texture and lots of oomph to our hair. So now that we have lots of body in our hair, I'm just going to part my hair a little bit deeper than I normally would. We are going for a 60s inspired. Look! Okay! So that's good and we're going to be leaving the front section out a little bit, but I just want to smooth over this crown area because we're going to be pulling this back and we want it to look smooth. But we still want to have that body. Underneath so, let's not worry too much about the front sections, let's focus on getting the back nice and smooth and then I'm just using a clear elastic and I'm just going to pull all of my hair back into a low ponytail and I'm going to kind of Give it a little bit of a boost as well, so when I'm doing my ponytail just going to push it up a little bit just to get that volume again another thing I found quite useful to help bring some body into this hair. So just take a single finger like this and push it through and just kind of pull these pieces up a little bit. It'S a nice way to cheat to get some more volume. You can do this after your ponytails in as well. This is about as much of a pouf as my hair can handle. My hair is very fine and I don't have a lot of it. So that's about as big of a bump, as I can personally get. I still really like the way it looks, and I think it definitely has a 1960s with a modern twist vibe to it, and it's definitely more volume than I'm used to having now, I'm just going to set everything in place with the Toni & Guy glamour. Firm hold hairspray just gon na spray, this all over my hair. If you have a similar bang situation to me, you can kind of pin these back. If you want to, I might just tuck this behind my ear like that, and I might just pull some of these hairs out in the front as well, and that is it. This is my take on the 1960s updo. Of course you can play around with this. Look, you don't have to do a low ponytail. You could turn it into a bun. You could do a half up, half down, look with some curled pieces and just keep that sort of 1960s bump there. So I hope you enjoyed the 1960s updo hairstyle. I did for you today. It would be really cool if you tried some 1960s inspired hairstyles at home.
