Hey guys, I'm Meredith, I'm 17, and I'm here with hope and we're gon na show you how to do this really pretty up to be worn by Adrienne by own from the Cheetah Girls. So now we're gon na just start by applying a smoothing cream all throughout your hair. So you want to just squeeze about a quarter size amount into your palms. So just rub your hands together, get it nice and coated over your palms break your fingers through from the roots to the end. This is gon na give your hair a lot of holes and definitions so that it stays in place and when you style it later, it's gon na work perfect. So next what you want to do is take a wide tooth comb. I know this looks really crazy, but it's perfect for girls with curly hair because it really separates all of your curls and gives them that definition. That'S gon na help your style look amazing later on. Next, what you want to do is take the velcro roller and use it to curl. Just this front section of your hair right here, I'm gon na give your style a really pretty lift and shave later on when you have the full updo in perfect alright. So now we're ready to dry your hair. So what you want to do is use this thing called a diffuser. This funky little thing right here and it just pops on to the end of your blow-dryer and really helps to define and shape your curls so that they look really perfectly formed and frizz free. Just please the ends of your hair into the diffuser and bring it up kind of scrunch it against your scalp. And since your hair is long, you really want to make sure to lift this part here off your head, so that you're getting roots up here dry too, and that way they won't be frizzy later. Alright, look at those gorgeous curls. So next, if you want to do, is just pull this down part of your hair back into a low loose point and hold it in your hands like that. Wait right at the nape of your neck and then twist it as though you're making a French twist and just hold that twisted part against back of your head and now yo grab a breath and clip it together rate it and then we're just gon na. Let these ends here just follow those a barrette and make a really pretty twist all right. So the last thing you need to do to finish off your style is just pull the roller out of your hair. But when you do it, you want to guide it in the direction that you want. Your hair to lay ready and you may need to finger comb it a little bit to just smooth it out and get it to lay right where you want, but this looks pretty perfect. So the very last thing you need to do is just use a light. Hold hairspray and mist it over your entire head, like that, you don't want to aim it directly at any creases. Just let it sort of settle over your head, beautiful

Cassandra Bankson: @kisamegirl11 agreed! Sad but true. I have super super curly hair, and hers is more like waves. I did a video on a curly updo, and its my personal opinion it would be better than whats in this video!

Arasi Torres: Soo pretty! i love it! it natural and really easy! y can even use it for school!

babywitch: As a fellow curly girl I say embrace your curls! I use a deep condition at least twice a week and use an anti frizz cream when mine gets bad. Straightening your hair will just make your curls more wild! Curly girls unite! lol

TheOtherUnicorn: I shower my hair every other day and I use shampoo+regular conditioner. When I get out of the shower I brush my hair and then while its still wet I put in some Leave in conditioner but only on the lower parts of my hair... It'll weigh down the curls and it has helped me alot with the "frizz"!

KendraSays: Curly's unite! seriously though, I want to do a curly hair updo, but my hair is naturally curly, I just want to know how to work with my hair, not how to go out of my way to find a curling iron to get a 'used-to-be straight-haired, curly" hairstyle -kendra <3

heartshapedxbox: Haha I tried this look, and the barette literally broke. My hair is SOOO thick and curly.

angelaparkes: I have straight hair and I always curl my hair, I love waves.

Maddie Bishop: do you comb it when it's damp - also an easier way to try combing your hair would be to start with just the ends - then the middle section - then the crown - then once poofy try to separate out the curls by running you fingers with a anti-frizz serum through you hair - maybe twist sections of your hair around your fingers bit by bit until your hair is less poofy

Melissa A: Thanks SEVENTEEN! My curls are going to look awsome! Do you have tips on how to have Taylor Swif or Alicia Keys's curls???

mskksoo: this hairstyle is my everyday look, its not new for me, but it looks cute

qweenofthestars: I like how they make the models do it themselves... :)

Becky: So it's basically like the process I currently have, just minus immediately putting it in a ponytail. Thanks! I have to try that! Hopefully it will look more natural than putting gel in it, and less frizzy too! Does mousse work the same way too? Which do you think is better? It sucks that I have to find other girls with curly hair. Nothing ever gives good curly hair advice! I suppose you have to have curly hair to know curly hair. :)

Seer: take a shower in the morning, wash shampoo and condition hair but before you rinse out the conditioner brush it. its eaiser and it makes your hair soft and not as frizzy then put your hair in a towel wait 5 mins and brush again then do what u want with it. works for me everytime :)

bubbules08: I love that they made her do it.

Bri: @LaurenMahlon well you can take a little bit of lotion and put it on your tips and twist it clip it up for five min and take it out and your frizzy hair should carm a little bit! i hope this helps ! good luck :)

Cindy Leon: My hair is like wavy-curly, so it's not exactly like this chick's. I usually put it in a pony to keep it calm, but if I leave it naturally, it gets really frizzy. Anyone have any tips of what I could do? Any advice would sure be aprecciated.

heartshapedxbox: Mine is the opposite. It's a combination of super curly/wavy and always curls up after about 2 hours of straightening. I use a CHI flat iron, but after years of use, it doesn't work like it used to, so now I can barely straighten it at all.

Monae Artistry's Hair and Makeup Blog: I like the way the detailed the curls in the front of the hair at the end of the video...

TheOtherUnicorn: Leave in conditioner or a medium hold mousse. It's magic for me! Put it in while its still wet and do not blow dry....

heartshapedxbox: Ugh, me too! Sometimes I love my curls, but other times I HATE them because my hair is SO thick. It gets so frizzy, tangled and dry and sometimes they have NO shape. When I straighten my hair though, it always feels like spun silk after.

Audrey Treadwell: omg, so cute!!!

Valentina Regueira: 1 word -GORGEOUS!-

Saga Westlund: it's not curly when it's wet off-course, but when you dry it it comes out like that. I know, because i have very curly hair, and it's all very straight when it's wet. I like the hairstyle btw, so relaxed!

Sonia Mathur: @kissiej4ever actually, a diffuser really does make your hair come out like that, the lady who does my hair always uses one, and it comes out perfectly. without it, my hair just frizzes.

Becky: How does leave-in conditioner work? Do I still use regular conditioner in the shower and then afterward put that in? I wash my hair every other day... would that still work?

TheBeanSi: Anyone who has curly hair avoids running their fingers through it, it frizzes!

meowingwool: I might try that, at the mo, after showering it, I put it into two side plaits, so it's not knotty. I only brush it once through when it's damp, just so then it's not knotty when I plait it.

Kuri-chan: Well, I suggest you trying to layer your hair. Because less weight would be on the hair, the different layers would maybe curl up. In addition, it might be easier to curl your hair if there are different levels. Good luck! And also, like Hunter said, try and find how to do videos. this'll help probably! Kuri.

cheskanineeeeee: YUP ! I use that comb large tooth comb (:

Becky: I'm in Michigan. It's pretty bipolar so humidity is hard to determine. xD Well, is that you in your videos? I see your curls are really tamed. That's good! Mine are tamed with the gel, but it's annoying with it always being hard and I can only do so much with it. I think I'll try your suggestions and see if I can do more hairdos with it, other than ponytails! Hehe! By the way, if that's you in the videos, you have a good voice. :) And you're pretty and I like your hair. :)

selina on youtube: @garciaanak6 It's wavy before she blow-dries it, yes, but her hair does that twirly-thing, that I would call curls. Of course there's big curls and small curls and more or less wavy. I've got curly hair myself, and it depends on how I treat it, how curly it gets.

Cassandra LeRette: @kissiej4ever that is because they have used a diffuser. It creates frizz free curls.

winston d: @xpinksparkx yeah she DOES that's the whole point. it's for girls with curly hair...you can see her hair is curly when it's wet. that's why they use the wide tooth comb - to seperate the curls.

Jennifer McMillan: @SweatyBlueJeans I can never find anything for my hair. I have tight corkscrew curls as well. It's either ponytail or down - I have no idea how to do a nice updo! She definitely just has wavy hair!

chloe kilpatrick: i use that difuser to scrunch my hair lol

PandaArcade: The first product she used, I own. You do not need a quarter-sized amount...at all.

arcadegamer117: Cute!

IndyCindy: Hi I'm a hair stylist. Curly hair is weaker than straighter hair. According to Cosmetology theory straight hair if cut and examined under a microscope is VERY round. As you move down the list of types of wave patterns, wavy hair is a bit flatter, Curly hair is almond shaped, very curly hair even flatter, and extra curly is the flattest. it's like taking an opened pair of scissors and running the sharp edge along the side of a ribbon, the tighter you pulled it the curlier it gets.

yoshi3329: What type of comb is that and where can I get that?

kac632: i agree with all the comments below! i have really curly and i want to see tutorials for that. all i get when i search are girls who THINK they have curly when really they dont!!ugh

Abbey Clark: Girls with actual curly hair, would run away as soon as she mentioned velcro roller.

lovely metanoia: I wouldnt call those curls... More like WAVES. Theres a HUGE difference. -- You will only damage your curly hair if blow-dried. Since curly hair are already dry and frizzy enough, the blow-drier will just burn your hair more and more. It's better to let it air-dry. It's a more natural way. Also, brush your hair when its REALLY damp to get rid of knots. Then scrunch it gently to your scalp. But dont squish it with your fingers. Just use the palm of your hand.

misscurlyhorse: @candicehah I totally agree! It's fairly annoying, I can't find any good hairstyles with people that actually have curly hair!

IndyCindy: I would suggest using a shampoo and conditioner that will strengthen and smooth your hair, while it hydrates your hair. As anyone knows there are MANY types of brands and types. What kind of shampoo are you using?

Nigel Whoreberry: What is this sorcery! my hair is ridiculously frizzy when I blowdry it.

Seer: i find its hard for me to syle my hair when dryit become very hard to detangle and is very frizzy

Emelia Jade: Where can I get that velcro curler thing?

Samantha Marie: When you brush curl hair it becomes a GIANT frizzy mess...Plus diffusing your hair is bad because curly hair is SO dry already

Sham Omar: the girl is so beautiful <3

Seer: agreed no person with curly hair can get a comb through their hair!!!! impossible

ZolaLight: yep i agree completly!

Tatiana ^_~: lol... this isn't anything special or "celeb" like at all! This is my "oh crap... I'm in a rush... my hair is still wet" look

TheOtherUnicorn: Yeah I agree Curly hair is basically a bitch... Well I use Mousse as as a compliment. If you live in a more humid enviroment I'd recommend using mousse instead of leave in. Use one with a medium hold and apply it like you did with the leave in (Not your entire head of hair). If you use it as a compliment, apply it on your roots (ca 3 cm) and when your hair is almost dry puff it up alittle for more volume. Tried to find a photo of my hair so that you could see it... but no...

Alexa C: my hair is curlier than that when it is soaking wet! i Love seventeen, but they need to work on their so-called "curly-girl" hairstyles.

Sinead Fay: the model looks like Nikki Reed! (Rosalie in Twilight)

Becky: This is for wavy hair. No curly haired girl will put any velcro or comb in her hair! I've only found one thing to do with my curly hair. When I wash it, when it's still wet, I put it in a ponytail. I then put gel in it. I have long bangs I tuck behind my ears that, when my hair dries, I straighten. So the top of my head straightens from the pull, and I get curls for my ponytail, which I put gel in again before I go in the morning (I wash at night). I'm tired of this and want suggestions!

meowingwool: Gahh this is so annoying! I cant brush my hair, as it ends up around a foot wide. (I did have it thinned out a lot at easter, and it's still thick!!) I can't comb it. (Even with a wide tooth) as that still make it poofy, so I can just about use my fingers to brush it.

Paige Arneson: no one in there right mind can do that unless ur with seventeen magazine

Sydney Washington: There are no videos for real curls. I'm tired of being left out!!

gemma liuthjdc: The comb got stuck on my hair :(

boopkins25: I'm going to make a video on how to put a bobby pin in my hair and gain loads of publicity.

Crystagirl99: @kissiej4ever try using a diffuser

Franchesca A: Yeah..that comb looked totally insane.

wolfpackfan3: is it just me, or does the model's updo look nothing like the celebrity's updo?

Ev: The model doesn't even have curly hair! It's BEARLY curly it's wavy.

Allyssa Sarsur: Tell me about it -.- cant even comb it without it exploding into frizzland

TheLastCurlbender: @JasmineAndKatelyn OHMIGOSHGIRL!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! YOU HAVE GEORGEOUS HAIR!!!!!! I'm mixed too and all it takes is a little bit of work to learn how to take care of your hair! Trust me...it took 14 years to learn how to work with it but remember to STOP STRAIGHTENING!!!! BEFORE IT GETS DRY AND BRITTLE AND CRAPPY!!!! DX AND WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT RELAX!!!! I did it once and I burned my scalp like heck!!! You are 10 enjoy life and don't stress about your hair! USE CONDITIONER!! IT IS LIFESAVER!!!

brisweet: at 2:31 she sprays it to the air instead of her hair LOL

Seer: same my hair is wayyy more curly, i have ringlets

Reshme's Rasta: seems to me like the girl in the red shirt is doing most of the work.

madalynisabelx3: anyone searching for a "updo for curly hair" has REAL curls. calling this girl's hair curly is making me laugh.

Gillian Griffin: like I can fit a barret over all of my hair. HAH.

Danielle Kerri: my hair is pretty much similiar to this, if not mine is a little curlier, and people have always said i have curly hair, not wavy, curly! there just different types of curls i suppose.

PrincessT4771: I have extremelyyy curly hair with very nappy hair underneath (from being dominican) This wouldnt work, velcro rollers just makes my hair frizzy and hard to get out

MissMarchHare: That's messed up. Shouldnt they actually pick girls with really curly hair, or girls that need help controlling their hair- for example frizz- for the "miracle makeover"?

Truly Trinity: Her hair is not curly it's wavey make a video that could help me because my hair is actually curly

سوسيتا سوسة: حلو

Mind over Matter: i have super curly hair, but there big curls, and so my diffuser doesn't really help because they are sooooooo heavy they eventually fall down :)

kitkatkool236: Velcro roller+ my curly hair= tangly mess this girl doesn't have nuthin

Lydia Langescheid: haha :D her voice is epic :D

misslalacandy: I thought this was meant to be a tutorial for CURLY hair???

loveofwonder: Her hair wishes it had waves. Then they put it up in some lazy hairstyle that I use to clean and call it a celebrity imitation?? boo seventeen, boo. I want those 2 minutes and 44 seconds of my life back

PeaceLoveTreesMusic: lol i love how the hairsylist just makes the model do it, lol. thumbs up if you think it kind of makes the hairstylist pointless to be there

Maddie Bishop: wut this girl basically has slightly wavier hair than me but i'd count myself as having straight hair!!!

selina on youtube: That IS curly hair! Would anyone really call that STRAIGHT hair? REALLY? It's curly.

Karen X: that hair is NOT curly. hello, there's a difference between curly hair and wavy hair, seventeen!

totallykitty: ok so many people have been leaving comments saying her hair is curly or it is wavy. i'm not a hair expert but i would say that her hair is not exactly curly but it does have some wavy curls....(if that makes sense)

JulietStruckLove: woah!

Liz Burton: @auteurfille22 Um, actually, my hair looks like that when I use a diffuser

sarah raza: @kissiej4ever if u have curly hair and u blow dry it with a diffuser it should actually come looking better than that, at least my hair comes out curly and frizz free...no offense but the models hair look like untamed broom stick 0_o

Ashley Aikins: Mine is the same way!!!!!!!!!!!!! supper curly! that is wave not curl!

IndyCindy: her hair is not wavy it's curly...if your hair is curlier than you may have "very curly" hair

Kruti Mistry: there is no way the curl on her bangs was from the roller.

LiLfashionista24: i doesnt work with long hair .__.

HollyMay13: sorry but i love the models hair , hate the hairstyle. thats how my hair looks when i wake up!!

Gus_Gus: its cute but i think they used a curling iron idk thats just my opinion

ritzdelish: looks like boo boo. also, my hair murders barrettes, so yeah, this won't work.

Dillon Smith: 0:19 i never thought of using semen as a hair product

AEROpurple: NO thats not curly hair. I have like Big, ringlets, and i don't know what to do!! I'm always straightening my hair.

Jem H: where were the curls????? i'm sorry, but my hair's really curly naturally and there is no way i would stick some velcro roller in my hair; it's tough enough getting a comb through it!!!!
