Today, i'm going to be teaching you how to do a beautiful half updo. This is an adorable style for the boho girl who wants to look effortless, modern and not too fussy. It works for pretty much anyone with medium to long length, hair of any texture. Let'S get started the first thing: you're going to do is curl your hair. Using a modern, pinterest inspired curl pattern. You will need a one inch curling iron for this after you section the hair. What you want to do is grab a one inch section, clamp your curling iron down slide three quarters of the way down and roll up. I like to keep my fingers on the hair, and once i feel the heat penetrating through, all i do is unravel the hair, while keeping the clamp in place. I slide the iron almost down to the end roll up to finish that curl pattern unravel and slide down to straighten the ends. When you finish it's going to look like a coil, you want to leave it to cool. While you work up the head because we'll be brushing it out later to create a really textured modern wave. This curl pattern seems really complicated when you first learn it, but the more you do it. You really realize how fast and how easy it actually is, and i guarantee you it's going to be your client's favorite curl pattern from now on now grab your next section and do the exact same thing again. If you notice, i actually split the back of the head in the middle and i curl away from the face on either side, which means i'm curling into the middle. I did a video on this technique without any talking with a slightly bigger barrel iron. If you want to see this in more detail, then check out that video next i'll leave it in the pinned comment below when you get to the side sections you're going to do the exact same thing by curling, away from the face with the same technique. When you moved up the entire head and are completely finished, you're going to grab a wide tooth comb and use it to brush out all the curls, this is how you get that boho shape now go ahead and grab yourself a texture spray. One of my favorite products is a sexy hair. High tide, texture spray, it's great because it creates a really lived-in vibe without being sticky or even hairspray-like at all. It'S a totally different texture than you get with a regular hairspray, even if the hairspray is light hold. So don't skimp out on this step, get yourself a texture spray. It makes all the difference in the world when you're, creating boho shapes. Now, with your fingers, you're going to scoop the crown area out and using a pinching motion, you're going to lift small sections up to create separation, grab a clear, elastic and secure that in place after you secure it. You can look at that section and assess if you need to pinch it out. Even more now, you're gon na grab the side sections i like to leave a lot out around the ears and in the front, because typically my clients just prefer that. But this is a client based thing, so ask your client what they like best when you're working at the front you're going to take these two side pieces and you're going to twist twist twist them and then secure again with an elastic once you've done. That use your pincher fingers and pull it out again for texture and softness. The current updos are very pieced out, and they have tons of texture now grab that ponytail from the crown section that we wrapped with an elastic twist it and spin it around. Like a bun, now here's a trick. I'Ve learned this year i like to use, pin clips to map out what i'm doing before fully bobby pinning it in pin clips are not strong enough to hold the style long term, but they're great to use for mapping out sections that are not very heavy and For creating separation in the hair, when using hairspray now i grab that other small ponytail from the side section and use those pin clips to map out how it's going to look best. At this point, i'm going to lock this down place with a firm hold hairspray. The one i'm using is the bed head masterpiece and then i go in with my bobby pins and i secure every single piece in place in terms of accessorizing. The sky is the limit here. I love flower crowns and i made this one by myself using some paper flowers from michaels, so because this look is so effortless, i'm choosing to use this flower crown just to give it even more of a boho edge, and here is your end result. This is so cute for bridal showers, baby showers, weddings and pretty much anything else. Thank you guys for watching.
