9 Wedding Hair Trends, According to a Pro Bridal Stylist

Hi there all my bridal babes! Are you ready to see some of the most stunning bridal styles? My name is Shelby Weatherholtz and Iʼm ready to break it down for you. Iʼm positive there is a look in this collection that everyone can vibe with! With Bridal being one of my specialties, I canʼt wait to share with you what I think will be the top wedding hair trends this year.

#1: The “New” French Twist

This style is less structured than the typical French twist (which, letʼs be real most brides donʼt want a roll slapped on their head anymore) and incorporates more texture but still holds onto that classic feel. Typically paired with a lot of volume and airiness this old time classic has become a new age request! One of my favorite stylists to follow @hairandmakeupbysteph shows off this perfect textured twist!

#2: Accessory Adorned Hair

Whether you wear your hair up, down, or somewhere in between, adding bridal hair accessories is all the rage! From flower crowns to blinged out hairvines, there is no lack of inspiration for bridal hair accessories. Places like @leletny and @pinkpewter specialize in this area as well as @wb_upstyles, @hairandmakeupbysteph and @ulyanaaster are stylists that have created their own accessory lines! Check out these styles for some blingy inspo.

#3: The Undone Chignon

This wedding hair trend is simple and sweet. It can be as easy as a knotted bun or a bit more relaxed as a chignon. Classy, romantic, and simplicity come to mind when envisioning this style.

#4: Play on Natural Texture

Why hide all those beautiful curls when you can make them the star of the show!? More brides are opting to accent the texture they were blessed with, instead of totally changing it.

#5: Glam Waves

Old Hollywood your thing? Well, there are many types of waves you could choose from, but the deep “finger wave” like curls are to die for! Some prefer them brushed out for a softer finish, while others like the drama of the deep structured waves as I’ve shown you below.

#6: The Cascading Fairytale

Who doesnʼt want to feel like a princess on their big day? Well, this style will certainly give you all the feels with Elsa inspired hair. Typically, this style incorporates a big braid and can be either cascading down your back or over your shoulder. Either way this look is always a show stopper!

#7: The Relaxed Bohemian

This super effortless look is perfect for destination weddings on the beach or those rustic barn weddings that never disappoint. This style is more relaxed and almost comes off as if it could have been done in your own home, but trust me you still want a professional.

#8: Soft & Structured

Yes, itʼs possible to have both soft and structured all in the same style. It is quite the stunner and is making a huge splash in the bridal world. There is so much detail, and yet stays airy and open, which translates to a softer style. Artist @ulyanaaster has made this a definite trademark style and many are opting for this on their big day!

#9: BRAIDS!

They arenʼt going anywhere and thank God because they make such a gorgeous updo! Also, now we’re seeing them in unexpected ways; think fairy garden meets modern romance. All the good texture we all want to see now!
