Losing a few strands of hair daily is a common incident. Every day, people shed up to 100 hair strands. When hair falls out to a greater extent than normal, it can be worrisome. At a time when someone faces this, one should consult a doctor to determine the best treatment alternatives. After a doctor has addressed the underlying issue, a person's hair will most likely return to normal.

Before getting checked with a dermatologist, here are a few things that one can do as preventive measures to check if these reduce the hair fall.

Tips to take care of hair to reduce hair fall

  • When one is brushing or combing the hair, using a detangler is a must. This helps in preventing tugging, especially if it is damp.
  • A wide-toothed comb can aid in hair loss prevention.
  • One should avoid excessive use of products or procedures on your hair like hot rollers, curling irons, straighteners, etc.
  • Rubber bands, barrettes, and braids put a lot of strain on your hair, so one should try to avoid them.
  • Hydration is another factor that should be considered. The hair shaft is made up of one-quarter of water, so drinking at least four to eight glasses of water every day helps stay hydrated and promotes healthy hair development.
  • Vitamins are not only good for your overall health, but they are also great for your hair. Vitamin A encourages healthy sebum production in the scalp, vitamin E increases blood circulation to keep hair follicles active, and vitamin B keeps hair looking healthy.
